Drinks On the House

It’s a busy week this week outside the bar so I’m just opening a new thread and all of you can talk amongst yourselves. And the drinks are free.

Oh, just a few things:

  1. Hillary Clinton is a blatant liar and if she is nominated President, it will be a dark day for the Democratic Party.
  2. Donald Trump NEVER opposed immigration nor Mexicans. From his opening statement onward, he opposed illegal immigration.
  3. There is a huge wing-ding underway in New York’s Central Park today to end extreme poverty in 15 years. Am I the only one who finds this preposterous?

What do you think? The bar is open.

  1. 1.Hillary Clinton is a blatant liar and if she is nominated President, it will be a dark day for the Democratic Party America.
There, fixed that one for you. Not that your point is not valid its just that I think it goes deeper my way.
The Democrats have definitely set the stage to forever never be what they once were. It’s almost Whig like.
2.You make an excellent point on Trump and it easily could be extended to a majority of people on the Right. It really is about the illegal part.
    3. There is chatter in many egg head corners that it is indeed somewhat preposterous. I recently read some critiques of the Millennium Project goals and outcomes and I think that applies quite well. You can’t move a mountain with tweezers. You also have the very real deal that
extreme poverty is something that can’t have one off swipes taken at it. Vulnerable people live under sustained conditions that damns them to their lot in life. Another major driver that makes it preposterous if one were to believe it attainable is the bickering amongst alleged allies. If you want to alleviate extreme poverty one great tool is concrete. Get people of dirt floors you dramatically improve their health and establish a (pardon the pun) rock hard foundation for them to move on from. Staying wight he same tool go from floor to walls. Then to infrastructure. Anyway the pain in the ass crowd have elements who scream about paving over culture and environmental impacts of concretes components and use.
Eradicating poverty is a ruse for people with means to gather and feel noble. Its like Halloween. You live in your mansion and pass out candy to the kids at the door. You shut the door and feel good about yourself. The door stays shut for a year and the candy lasts 5 minutes. Yeah you did a good deed.

  2. Alfie, what’s particularly disgusting about the Central Park gathering is that a sizable number showed up to see Coldplay and Pearl Jam and don’t really give a huge fuck about the poor. And you’re right, they will all leave the concert thinking they did something.

    It’s almost Whig like.

LOL I guess I had that coming.

  3. I can’t support any of the liars who want to hold the top marionette job slot in the corporation that is acting as if our government. It’s in its last throes anyway. I’ll not lend support whenever I can. Too big to nail.

Other than that I pretty much agree with you and Alfie. Donald’s assholiness isn’t directed at race, rather legitimacy. A prophet once foretold that in this realm there will always be the poor. I can only do my part.

  4. Vice President Joe Biden set off a rash of head scratching and furrowed brows when Monday he made apparently pro-life statements such as “at the moment of conception there’s human life,” and “abortion is always wrong.” Today his reasons became clear as Pope Francis formally endorsed Biden’s entire platform and belief system.

Before a joint session of Congress, the popular Pontiff humbly and systematically gave his blessing to the Vice President’s position on every issue likely to arise during his eventual 2016 presidential campaign. Standing behind the Pope, Biden grinned visibly as the Bishop of Rome compared his administration’s lax immigration policies to the Golden Rule of the Bible.

A spokesman for “Draft Biden 2016” issued a statement, saying that “naturally we couldn’t be happier, and we hope this endorsement convinces Vice President Biden to run. This wasn’t just an actor or CEO, this was the spiritual leader of more than a billion Catholics telling the world that Joe Biden is a Christlike leader.” He added “that’ll make his opponents take a big step back the next time they think about calling his foreign policy ‘sloppy and weak.’”

Cameras caught Speaker of the House John Boehner, also a Catholic, blubbering quietly and occasionally blowing his nose into his tie as the Vicar of Christ skillfully equated taxation with Christian charity. An aide later explained that the speaker has been giving lip service to pro-life causes for decades, and he was really hurt when the Pope said that we must “defend human life at every stage of its development” and winked at Biden.

Biden himself remained silent throughout the Pope’s speech, but was seen flicking what appeared to be AA batteries at a sleeping Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

  5. I’m not sure I can sign up for all of Sowell but this remark certainly rings true:

    <

blockquote> Poverty is automatic, but prosperity requires many things — none of which is equally distributed around the world or even within a given society.

  6. Matthew 26:11 ~ For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Poor is defined by the standard of living of the time. Seventy-five years ago, poor meant you didn’t have enough to eat. Now it means you live in squalor, but have plenty to eat and a big-screen TV. For many, the poverty of spirit is a larger problem than a poverty of THINGS.

The real question is not whether you can eliminate “poverty.” My boy Matt (above) says you can’t. It’s what is the best way to get the most people to the highest standard of living with the least inequality in the shortest time.

    Easy one. Capitalism.

Socialism, over and over and over, leads to the lowest standards of living, the most poverty, the most inequality of income. The best quote comes from Churchill, and every fiscal liberal should have it tattooed – no, branded – on their ass:

“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.”

I’ll heat up the brandin’ arn.

  7. Parker, the Scandinavian countries that Bernie Sanders models his ideas on, deserve more study. I don’t know their poverty rates nor their income disparity. The common progressive assertion is that the USA has the worst, or close to the worst income disparity on the planet.

  8. And I would submit to you that the reason is the very same reason the US healthcare system is in meltdown: you have the worst of unbridled capitalism combined with the worst of unbridled socialism, but not a pure form of either – in which case the advantages of either system would manifest.

    Thoughts?

  9. @ Rutherford partly because Im such a wonk and partly because of my real world political potential foray I’ve been looking deeper into the US income inequality thing.
Interestingly enough although we have the widest stretch from top to bottom we also have the second or third “middle”. Also our top portion, and by that I mean the bit over the middle not the uber rich by any means is also the largest.
Our bottom tenth is large and unrelenting but on a couple of OECD scales we are either tops or above the average and thats not a bad thing.

  10. I’m sharing this just to sicken Tigre.

Mika Brzinski brought her “Know Your Value” forum to Chicago on Friday and my wife attended. She got a selfie with Joe Scarborough and asked him why he blocked my Twitter account. His reply: “He was probably a little too intense.”

Then, when he signed a copy of Mika’s book, he addressed me by my real name (my wife didn’t mention Rutherford) and wrote “I’ll try to be more reasonable”.

Mika, showing her feminist colors signed the book addressing my wife and daughter and later stuck my name in as an afterthought.

What cracked me up was I told my wife before she went, “ask Joe why he blocked my account”, never thinking for one minute she’d get a chance to talk to him much less have the balls to ask.

I’m still chuckling about it. 😂

  11. I remember when Rutherford was still smitten with Obama and it was becoming apparent that Obama’s regime was well into being an unmitigated disaster, Rutherford used to dream up excuses like, “Obama saved us from a Depression!” LOL.

How bad has Dear Leader Barack Obama really been as the Republican Party folded into Whigs? 30 seconds for the eyeball test in nine graphs. Hope & Change, Baby!

Obama’s Recovery In Just 9 Charts

  12. Maybe this time, Rutherford will crash through the wall I described in the last thread.

Liberals cite Scandinavia as proof socialism works, but as I have written here and elsewhere, Scandinavian nations are not socialist. They are capitalistic welfare states. They have low poverty rates and a high standard of living, but Switzerland, a capitalistic country has as low or lower poverty rate.

One reason for the low poverty rates has little to do with economic systems but discipline and hard work. Nordics work hard as do Germans.

Poverty and crime rates are concentrated in immigrant communities, and enough immigrants will affect the national average. Increasing numbers of northern people are seeing the connection,

The Scandinavian countries pay for their welfare state with very high taxes and costs of living. For example Lotta, the young Finish woman I have quoted said it cost her more to leave Finland than for the rest of her trip to Spain. When she revisited the Unites States, she bought cosmetics and everything else she needed because products were so much cheaper in the US. Gasoline is also more expensive.

Did Cold Play and Pearl Jam donate their time, or did their salaries come from the audience?

  13. By using the standards of liberals who criticize conservatives like the Tea Party, Obama has caused another potential disaster, a baby bust. His economy which several of us predicted would remain sluggish is helping cause a baby bust.

Young people are having fewer children because they are economically stressed, and they work more hours per week. If the low birth rate continues, the effect will be harsh.

I talked to Bobby Jindhal on the phone and asked him a question which everyone on the connection heard. Does that count for something?

  14. Never give “drinks on the house” without setting a cut-off time

    I) I agree and also agree with Alfie’s correction
    2) Don’t know but if that belief is what it takes to get rid of him, so be it.
    3) I agree and I like Alfie’s analogy re:concrete. Concrete and pure water go a long way in improving poverty levels.

  15. Thanks Muffy @9/26 5:45
That answered my question regarding the left and the Pope
I agree we are all popped out (auto correct for Pope 😉

  16. You cannot compare Scandinavian nations to the USA. However you can compare them to our individual states. Each state has their own welfare/health/capitalism/socialism portrait. Too often we forget there is more than our federal government at work and most federal funds are matching funds so the over all wealth of the state is where it all boils down to in a comparison.

  17. The government gives tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood gives money to Democratic candidates. Unions give money to Planned Parenthood without members’ permission…and on and on.

And that right there is a key part of what’s wrong in our nation. Inbred disease.

  18. An interesting tid bit about eradicating extreme poverty. In the US poverty is a family of four with $65/day
Globally extreme poverty outside the developed world is $1.25/day. When pro Millennium folks talk about cutting extreme poverty by 50% keep in mind that could simply mean you got folks to $2.50/ day but as is true in many places caused their food staples to skyrocket. (rice, sugar, palm oil) All of a sudden $2.50 is the new extreme.

  19. On the one hand, Boehner’s constant blubbering makes it scary he’s 2nd in line to the presidency. On the other hand, it makes him kind of endearing. Just watched him on Face the Nation and you can’t say the guy doesn’t have heart. I also happen to like his governing philosophy.

  20. You guys go to MSNBC book signing events?

The book signing was tangential. It was an all day forum on women increasing their effectiveness in the workplace. It’s the first thing of its kind that my wife has attended and she had a ball.

  21. “women increasing their effectiveness in the workplace”

In otherwords, women actually learning how not to hate one another.

Its funny. Women at work will stop by where us guys hang out and say they can’t stand working with women. They all do it too.

Then you got the I want to be a man so I over compensate lady.

At least women can multi task, unlike simple ass males.

  22. I almost wrote you can’t compare Scandinavian countries to the US, but I had written so much already. Not only do they have mostly homogenous populations, but Norway has oil to help pay for things.

  23. Did Cold Play and Pearl Jam donate their time, or did their salaries come from the audience?

I don’t know. I’d have to assume they donated their time. Pretty scandalous if they didn’t.

  24. I watched Carly and Hillary on Meet the Press. David Mure made a token jab at Hillary’s e mails, but Carly refused to back down from his stronger attack about Planned Parenthood. More Republicans need to behave as she does.

I don’t know if those high priced news readers are ignorant and dishonest or both. Of course tax money pays for abortions.

I like Boehner’s style too. However, his successes on important issues match Obama’s foreign policy efforts. Both are losers.

  25. I think blaming the baby bust on Obama is way too simplistic. Care of the feminist movement many women are no longer interested in marrying at 22 and spitting out a bunch of babies. They are prioritizing career over both marriage and child bearing.

What did you ask Jindal and what was his answer?

  26. The government gives tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood gives money to Democratic candidates.

I think you’ll find that feedback loop in a lot of places. It’s a point being made by Trump and Sanders.

  27. I asked my wife if she is interested in attending the empowering women conference put on by MSNBC on her weekend off.

She told me to fuck off.

  28. Bobby Jindal said one of our problems has been the Republican Congress’ inability to pass legislation important to conservatives. As president, he would change the record.

I reminded him what he said, and I asked how he would change the success rate since he would not be a member of Congress. What specifically would he do differently.

He gave a nice answer about creating a more productive mood and some platitudes, but he couldn’t answer my question or explain why he would be more successful at producing legislation than our recent past presidents. He pretended to answer my question. It doesn’t change my possible vote, but he might have known my question was hard.

Several times, he said “good question” Mine didn’t make the cut.

  29. My wife would have said the same thing. She is already empowered. She has also complained about having to work with other women.

  30. James I assumed you just had a brain fart. Mure I believe is with ABC. MTP is hosted by Chuck Todd.

As to your critique, I completely disagree. Todd gave her the toughest interview she has had on TV yet. And while I dislike her, she gave her best performance to date, playing the dumb blonde who “don’t know nuthin bout these server thingies”.

As for Carly, she continues to engage in a public hallucination and millions of folks are hallucinating right along with her. If the media were wise, they’d drop the whole thing. It’s like arguing with someone about the existence of the Trinity.

  31. Ryan Taylor of One Republic also helped with this song. He co-wrote it with Ella Henderson. Since we are all haunted by ghosts of one form or another, here it is. They are Christians so they use Biblical allusions.

  32. Yes, I did. I know Chuck Todd hosts Meet the Press. I pulled a Hillary.

I disagree. Hillary wants to be our president, and she is a dumb blonde who doesn’t understand those thingies? Her defense is incompetance? Couldn’t she hire advisers to instruct her?

I agree Todd pushed her a little, but he was pretty gentle compared to his questions to Carly. Maybe he backed away because Hillary said in effect she is too ignorant to understand the questions. Chuck could have dredged up some of Hillary’s contradictory explanations, but he didn’t.

I agree the press should let Carly’s story rest. She won’t change it, and her combativness impresses her fans. Besides, she is right in the sense that she “Shot the Sheriff.”

  33. James you’ll want to search on the internets tomorrow evening for part 2 of Todd’s interview. There he’ll cover Syria and Libya (Benghazi). I know you don’t have cable. I’ll be recording it. It’s part of Todds new daily broadcast on MSNBC.

  34. I’m interested Rutherford. I will try to look when I can. We will be back in Omaha with our grand daughter, and my available time is unpredictable.

  35. Poolman, funny coincidence that RT America is the sister station of a Russian outfit. Senator seems to think Putin has the right idea.

Well, one of my favs, Lee Camp is also on RT America so I don’t have a good handle on their bias.

The Senator did make some sense. Time we stopped facilitating the overthrow of stable governments, from Iraq to Egypt to Libya and now Syria. Listening to this Senator, if you didn’t know better you’d think it is the policy of the Obama admin to advance Jihad across the Middle East.

  36. DR, I was wondering, since your wife suffered a similar injury, if you buy Harry Reid’s excuse for having the side of his face all bruised up way back when and him saying it was from a workout belt snapping and hitting him.

I’ve been meaning to ask but never seemed like the right time, and we all seem pretty bored right now.

  37. Rutherford, does that Mika chick look as hot in real life as she does on TV?

Yeah, I’m probably the only one here who thinks so, but I don’t care.

  38. LOL Huck I didn’t go but my wife described her as glamorous.

GOP pundit Nicolle Wallace was there and my wife said she looked just like your Midwest next door neighbor. During a panel discussion, Nicolle said the notion of “knowing your value” was particularly poignant to her because she’d just been fired from The View.

  39. I would imagine those empowering conferences would be a great place to network. If you are satisfied with your current place in life then I don’t think you would get much benefit from attending.

  40. “Hillary wants to be our president, and she is a dumb blonde who doesn’t understand those thingies? Her defense is incompetance? Couldn’t she hire advisers to instruct her?” – James

Did I miss some sarcasm somewhere? The last thing HRC is “is a dumb blond”and I don’t think she’s ever used advisers as she is the adviser. On the other hand I think something is going on and either her health is a problem or she sees the light at the end of the tunnel and would rather leave than lose.

  41. re: women working together. A total clusterfuck everywhere. They are so competitive with each other that it’s like opening the door to the chicken-house, throwing a dog in, and closing the door. Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!

The worst is having a female supervisor. My experience in the workplace is that men can work for men and women for men – no problem. Men working for women always causes friction; however, it CAN be done – but women CANNOT AND DO NOT WANT to work for women.

  42. “I asked my wife if she is interested in attending the empowering women conference put on by MSNBC on her weekend off.

She told me to fuck off.”

That’s ‘cos she’s smarter than you. She already KNOWS who has the power. Women control 90% of the world’s money and 100% of the pussy. How can you get more power than that?

  43. “The government gives tax dollars to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood gives money to Democratic candidates. Unions give money to Planned Parenthood without members’ permission…and on and on.

And that right there is a key part of what’s wrong in our nation. Inbred disease.”

    …………

The Wall-Streeters give money to the ReThuglicans without shareholders’ permisson. The Agribusiness and oil people do the same, so you can burn ethanol whose production costs more energy in diesel fuel than it replaces … and on and on.

And that right there is a key part of what’s wrong in (y)our nation. Not a nickel’s difference between the Parties.

  44. Yes, Ragi, I was being sarcastic. I think she knew what she was doing from the beginning when she broke administration rules about her e mail accounts. I also think she planned how to manage the scandal before it was public.
Using her logic of ignorance, she should have hired advisers to help her negotiate the terrain. If she didn’t and is not inclined to trust advisers, it makes her even more dangerous.

I also think she has health problems, and I hope she dies or is disabled before she can do any more damage to this country. I still think she could win the election if she can stay out of jail and Republicans can’t unite behind a good candidate.

  45. Both parties have scoundrels, and they may operate to steal our money in similar fashion, but to write there is no difference between them means you aren’t paying attention.

  46. James – I didn’t say “no difference.” I said, “not a nickel’s difference.” That means, no difference in things that matter. While some think abortion matters, for example, it’s of no consequence in the big picture. Important to some, but shouldn’t be a priority for the country as a whole, it’s just a distraction from things that DO matter.

What matters is fiscal profligacy and continuous military expansion/international interference, which without exception have always led to a country’s demise. There is where both parties are just alike; when in power, each continuously expands US government’s size and reach and pays for it with your children’s futures.

  47. I would imagine those empowering conferences would be a great place to network.

Bingo. My wife is unemployed presently and trying a bunch of different avenues to broaden her horizons.

I start training today to branch my business into a different area that may be a better money making approach.

  48. I still think she could win the election if she can stay out of jail and Republicans can’t unite behind a good candidate.

Dunno why but I found that phraseology funny. 😂

  49. So, the refugees are Obama’s fault, but they are not really refugees, they are people from Pakistan looking for better economic conditions. How did is this Obama’s fault? What did he do to tank the Pakistan economy?

  50. Thor, don’t bother. Logic left the station a long time ago.

Last night John Oliver talked about some migrant coverage (I think from Fox) demonstrating how dangerous these devout Muslims are … the clip used video of Muslims from several years ago leaving the viewer to believe he was watching something current. Of course we’ve learned from the PP videos that it doesn’t matter how much the image is manipulated so long as it portrays “the truth”.

  51. Speaking of John Oliver, I’ve got something for Poolman: I know your affinity for British perversion so I thought you’d find it amusing that an unauthorized bio of David Cameron claims when he was college frat boy, he copulated with the head of a dead pig.

  52. “On the other hand I think something is going on and either her health is a problem or she sees the light at the end of the tunnel and would rather leave than lose.”

I might have to watch the dumb blonde routine but is there word of her quitting the race? Or do you just mean she’s acting ditsy and laying the ground work?

  53. “Well, hope and Change was referenced. Is that no longer code for Obama.”

    Is that for me, thor?

    “I fixed it for you.”

    No, you interfered with it.

  54. Although addressed to Raji, I should clarify since the dumb blonde characterization was started by me.

I was referring to the MTP interview and I didn’t mean to imply she acted dazed, confused or in any way impaired. What I was saying is her new defense is a plausible deniability based on her own technical ignorance, i.e. we just told the server folks we didn’t need the emails anymore, we didn’t know what they did or how they deleted them. She thinks this defends her from an accusation of deliberately asking for the server to be wiped. She isn’t technically savvy enough, she says, to discern simple deletion of files from wiping the server clean to make it harder to retrieve them.

  55. “So, the refugees are Obama’s fault, but they are not really refugees, they are people from Pakistan looking for better economic conditions. How did is this Obama’s fault? What did he do to tank the Pakistan economy?”

If that was in ref to the article Tex posted, I missed the that. In any case right at the beginning of the article, it reads as follows:

Thousands of economic migrants are posing as refugees to reach Europe.

So if you’re asking about refugees, my answer stands. The refugees were created by ISIS.

  56. “On the other hand I think something is going on and either her health is a problem or she sees the light at the end of the tunnel and would rather leave than lose.”

Raji why do you think something’s going on with her health? Just curious.

  57. The question isn’t whether Hillary knew about wiping the server clean — like with a cloth. It will turn whether she knew that by sending classified info on her email system it was compromised. It sounds like it will be a “I didn’t know a server works and thought that since I was sending things to approved email recipients on the government system that they were secured. Boy, all this computer stuff is wacky.” The legal problems have to do with the transmission of classified info and where it was stored.

  58. So if you’re asking about refugees, my answer stands. The refugees were created by ISIS. – Muffy

Just ISIS or ISIS along with Assad, the Taliban, AQ and Saudi Arabia?

  59. Last year at this time the premiums were up 33% and the deductibles quadrupled for the fam. Now I just paid 50% more for RXs than last month.

It even says “Thank you for your business. You have been grubered!” on the receipt.

    Awesome.

  60. “Just ISIS or ISIS along with Assad, the Taliban, AQ and Saudi Arabia?”

Not Assad. Not exactly sure what refugees the rest of your list are creating at this time.

  61. Right there with you Muffy. This next FY. The rate isn’t going up but they are flying a test balloon of sorts that I don’t think bodes well for ’17. Coming out with a limited network. They “reward” you with. Deductible discount but the pool is so shrunk that getting a primary is going to be hard. On top of that if you come out of the limited, which you’re allowed you get the out of network screwing EVEN if you end up seeing someone in the original network but outside the limited.
This is one of the variations that made “if you like your doctor….” Such blatant lie

  62. “NASA-supported researchers have found that ice covering Greenland is melting faster than previously thought.”

I’m guessing you’re unfamiliar with the studies on Greenland’s glaciers and oceanic thermal exchanges hinted about in what you posted. I am also guessing that you consider it evidence of anthropagenic causes. If so, be sure you dig deeper before relying on an observation you think is common sense. I’m not saying you gotta buy my take/convictions but I’d be really neato if you’d get a better idea of what constitutes the evidence for an against the global warming debate. Really.

Whether or not you agree, this stuff is incredibly complex, often counter-intuitive, and contrary to what the politically motivated slogans might have you believe, by no means accepted or settled by the real Brainiacs (and that sure as hell ain’t me — I just am read up on a lot of the climate science for already disclosed reasons). Obama’s PR tour to Alaska was actually pretty damn funny if you knew the history of the studies there and what he was pointing to and saying (hint: since 1977 there has been little to no warming in Alaska with the exception of Barrow and a few other locations for very obvious reasons unrelated to anthropagenic global warming).

  63. NASA-supported researchers have found that ice covering Greenland is melting faster than previously thought.

Interesting. Always the same paid shills who find the results looking for funding. NASA and James Hansen.

But I have a question for our resident ecofascist who still can’t answer for me what we’re going to use as substitute for 70% of the energy needs in this country when a pipeline leaks, though his pet fascist organization called the EPA just created a monumental environmental problem without much of a peep.

They call “Green”land green for a reason. 1,000 years ago, some of Greenland was actually very fertile farmland. In fact, the entire North Atlantic was appreciably warmer than it is today. Was that climate chaos caused by man?

I find your science on par with your promises of Obama ushering in world peace and repairing foreign relationships (cough cough).

  64. Heh. LOL

I just read last week the fastest percentile escalating costs today in America aren’t higher education or healthcare escalation costs – it’s the deductibles under Obamacare. 😈 I got to find that article to post. Remember when Obamacare was going to help the lower middle and middle class?

The next step is single payer like the Vets who are croaking while waiting. Feel the Bern!!!

  65. Thanks Thor.

Those are beautiful pictures. I took some videos with a zoom lense. Our daughter took our grand daughter on the deck to watch the eclipse. Our grand daughter was talking about it when we arrived in Omaha.

I am also excited that NASA announced the possibility of flowing brine water on parts of Mars. Little green men may not live there but what about little green viruses.

  66. Yes, Obama is indirectly to blame for the migration and political unrest in the Middle East. He is not alone. Angela Merkle and other European leaders are also at fault. More Germans are beginning to understand what is happening, and they are getting angry.

  67. I am also guessing that you consider it evidence of anthropagenic causes. – ET

Not to be a dick, but there seems to be a new anthro-term surfacing daily. Is this a new term, or may I assume you meant anthropogenic? If so, this angle does not interest me. As I have said to you before, if we aren’t cooking the planet, that’s great news, and if we are, China and India won’t stop, so what’s the point of unilaterally shooting ourselves in the foot, economically speaking. Also, we could have a super volcano dust the atmosphere tomorrow, cooling it to the point at which the chicken littles will be begging world governments to make things warmer, not cooler. I am a great believer in balance and cycles.

Yes, much of this information is counterintuitive, such as the cold weather that might be produced in certain northern regions if the Atlantic currents get shut down. Also, as stated in the article, the warmest water in the Arctic is not on the surface but well below it.

I posted the link to show that info from NASA can be used for either side of the argument, since Tex was making a political statement, I offered info that emboldens the other side. See, balance. 🙂

  68. Those are beautiful pictures. I took some videos with a zoom lense. – James

You are welcome James. There were numerous excellent pics all over the interwebs today. It was spectacular here. My daughter in Seattle was able to enjoy it too, as was my niece in Arizona. My oldest in Florida missed out. And best of all, reports of our demise were greatly exaggerated!

  69. can’t answer for me what we’re going to use as substitute for 70% of the energy needs in this country – Tex

I’m sure the oil guys will figure it out, I mean, they are the smartest people on the planet, right?

“RD Shell is to stop drilling for oil off the Alaskan coast “for the foreseeable future” and take a financial hit, after initial exploration results failed to live up to expectations.
The news will dismay shareholders, who have seen the company plow $7 billion into a high-risk, high-return bet that has failed to pay off.”

  70. Not Assad. Not exactly sure what refugees the rest of your list are creating – Muffy

They all had a hand in it.

“Then when the protests reached Syria, President Bashar al-Assad knew he didn’t want to suffer the same fate as his Arab counterparts.

The West quickly abandoned him and said no negotiations while he was in power. Left with little choice he moved on those that opposed him in a violent and bloody manner.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq became ISIL and took huge parts of Syria and Iraq. Other groups sprang up that used religion to recruit.”

  71. “See, balance.”

    Oh that’s wonderful. Really wonderful.

And quite different from polar bear bullshit a year or two back. Glad you’ve evolved. Next time maybe tell is why you’re offering it. Then we’ll no you’re not doing your retarded shit again like citing the unemployment rate and stock market to tell us how kick-ass Obama’s economy s doing. Or telling us about drowning polar bears as proof of global warming.

Yes. Anthropogenic. A word that is not in my phone’s dictionary.

    Glad to see you’ve matured.

  72. “I’m sure the oil guys will figure it out, I mean, they are the smartest people on the planet, right?”

    I spoke too soon.

  73. Thor I only ask because you suggested China is doing nothing about “global warming”. Cap and trade would be a start, no? Or are you saying China’s not trustworthy in the matter?

  74. I was serious. I wanted to make sure I was understanding the word correctly. And to set the record straight, it was you guys that brought up polar bears drowning, something about a hoax. I countered with pizzlies, which I actually find a fascinating by-product of all this. And FWIW, this current go-round was initiated by Tex, not me. That’s why I offered it. I thought that was clear. Damn you’re in a shitty mood tonight.

  75. “They all had a hand in it.”

Then by your definitions yes the refugees are Obama’s fault too.

Silly games aside, ISIS is creating the refugees.

  76. Don’t remember any pizzly bullshit. But I do remember your offering polar bear populations as proof of global warming.

    Do you drive a Subaru?

  77. I’m sure the oil guys will figure it out, I mean, they are the smartest people on the planet, right?

Apparently in your book, the “smartest guys and gals” are the EPA. They’re especially terrific at cleaning up old mines. Open them up and let them flow. I’m sure you’ll get around to criticism some day. Like seven years after the election, or something. The light bulb will come on and they’ll be a disingenuous criticism – like Obama’s epic failure in foreign policy. Hope & Change!

But I’m curious. What do you Marxists propose as a substitute to power America? Last I looked, if you take hydroelectric out of the equation, I think you’re coming in at around 1.5% aggregate for all of green energy. LOL – and that’s with massive federal subsidies. 😆 😆 More Solyndra!

  78. “Yes, much of this information is counterintuitive, such as the cold weather that might be produced in certain northern regions if the Atlantic currents get shut down. Also, as stated in the article, the warmest water in the Arctic is not on the surface but well below it.”

Don’t you just love the wiggling? For you, R, that would be called “shuffling.”

Or, another way to say it besides “counterintuitive” would be, “It doesn’t pass the smell test.”

  79. re: Isis, Taliban, refugees, etc..

Great article several years back by General Counsel for, I believe, US armed forces … (not sure – long time ago). Her take on the Middle East was that US made errors from the very beginning and created their own – and the world’s – problems, which we deal with to this very day.

    ………

When US economy was booming and oil was discovered in the Middle East, that area was populated by poor bedouins. When US wanted to drill for the oil, they went to tribal leaders and said, “Look – you deal with the peons; we just want the oil and we will pay YOU.”

The money flowed to the leaders, who became sheiks, etc., with so much wealth that they built aeroplanes that would not fly because of the weight of so much gold in them. (true story)

The Muslim peons became restive; to stave them off, the sheiks began showering the imams with money – to show their support for the Religion of Peace, and to buy off revolution. Of course, the imams did in miniature what the sheiks had done and opened madrasas and built mosques where they could brainwash the peons – but not give them any of the money. Nice work if you can get it.

    ……….

The GC’s take was as follows: you can’t just shower uncivilized people with money; they just buy weapons with it. She said that the West should have told the sheiks, “Fine. We will buy your oil, and we’ll deal with you. You personally get 10% of the billions of dollars; we will pay the rest in the form of roads and schools, buildings and infrastructure, which WE will build.”

Thoughts? (Of course, it’s too late now.)

  80. “You personally get 10% of the billions of dollars; we will pay the rest in the form of roads and schools, buildings and infrastructure, which WE will build.”

I would say that defines Imperialism. That turned shitty too.

  81. “I would say that defines Imperialism. That turned shitty too.

That might be one opinion. Another might be that it defines taking the long view and saving literally millions of lives. How did the other, “unimperial” way work for you?

  82. you can’t just shower uncivilized people with money

Well of course “uncivilized” is a trigger word. 🙂 That said, the Eddie Murphy film “Trading Places” dealt with that idea. When Eddie finds himself rich, he temporarily loses control. But there’s a great scene where he sees his ignorant friends spoiling his new digs and he throws them all out. He realizes that his old “ghetto ways” are incompatible with his new circumstances.

Looking at it from another vantage point, if you shower anyone with much more money than they are used to, odds are things will not end well. Most lottery winners do not fare too well.

  83. The BMW i3. For those that pee sitting down. 😆

You ever get shot at in that thing or does the navigation keep you confined to liberal suburban neighborhoods?

  84. does the navigation keep you confined to liberal suburban neighborhoods?

LOL, that was funny. –Car also comes with front and rear skin sensors. Too many blacks per square yard and car navigates elsewhere. 🙂

  85. Oh snap. I watched two orcas surfacing and blowing air, then one magnificent tail come all the way out of the water.

Skippy must have been at lunch cos he let em swim off screen without tracking them. (sometimes the cameras are obviously manned).

  86. Please tell me somebody saw that. I snapped some screen grabs but they don’t do it justice. Major tail exhibition for like 5 minutes straight.

  87. Yes, Gorilla. As I said from the outset, they simply say the footage doesn’t exist rather than risk showing it. There’s lie 20 hrs of other tape describing their practices. What is Rutherford pissed ’bout? The label “liar” won;t stick outside of the idiot MSNBC circles and the issue is not being dismissed. No outrage over the practice.

  88. So first, G, thanks for putting a graphic video on the web site. Really appreciate it.

Second how can a video with no audio be the one Carly was talking about?

“Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.”

“Someone says” nothing in this video. It is silent.

PLEASE STOP THE GODDAM NONSENSE!!! We all get it, abortion is a procedure many find immoral. Selling body parts for profit is reprehensible. We all get it. And Carly hallucinating about the video she saw and your furthering the bullshit does not advance any noble person’s agenda.

If you don’t like Mother Jones’ account, click the link within the article going to the sourced Time magazine piece, where the provider of the video, Gregg Cunningham will not even confirm that the video was taken at a PP clinic. PLEASE STOP IT!!!!

    http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2015/09/carly-fiorina-now-even-wronger-about-planned-parenthood-video

I’m editing your comment to link to the video. I do not want it streaming on my web site.

  89. If you can’t watch, how can you defend?

The debate being had is not about abortion. It is about the harvesting of human body parts for profit from both living and dead specimens. It’s about violating federal law by modifying procedures specifically with the intent of harvesting human body parts for profit. It’s about negotiating profits on human body parts harvested from both living and dead specimens.

These are distinct and separate, though related, issues.

Funding PP—or not, as the case may be—is as much about condoning a practice as it is about funding activities. It should not matter that the funding does not fund abortions (which is according to federal law, but we see how they care about law), funding implies tacit support, and I question supporting any institution that harvests human body parts for profit. You probably should too.

Besides, wasn’t Obamacare suppose to solve women’s healthcare?

  90. G, you and others miss the point. By promoting videos of suspicious origin and questionable editing techniques, the folks in opposition to these practices DO NOT HELP THE MATTER. All of Tigre’s high school freshman snark aside, do a PROPER investigation of the clinics in question and prosecute where appropriate.

If I am not mistaken, either the House or the Senate is going to be holding inquiries on this matter. THAT is the way to go, particularly if Obama’s Justice Department cannot be trusted to see justice done.

Every time I get told “it’s not about the videos, it’s about the practice”, what do I see next? Another fucking video.

  91. If you can’t watch, how can you defend?

The debate being had is not about abortion. It is about the harvesting of human body parts for profit from both living and dead specimens.

First, I did watch. Second, I don’t defend. Third if the debate is about harvesting, show a video with harvesting. The video you posted purported to be an abortion. So the video, particularly with no soundtrack talking about “harvesting its brain”, to quote Carly, is not about harvesting.

  92. I’m trying to remember if calls for following the proper process were espoused for Trayvon Martin or Mike Brown…

Funny how selective appreciation of the “process” occurs. What happened to the antiseptic of light and all that? I thought the Community Organizer MO was to bypass the process altogether and wage the war for popular opinion? Are we not suppose to appeal to the emotions of folks? Is that not how liberals have waged war for decades? Facts be damned, it’s not about what IS right, but what FEELS right.

  93. Not all medical and forensic procedures are all that pleasant to see. We should find a nice video of an autopsy, don’t you think, Rutherford? Maybe one where the decedent is, oh, two weeks gone, and has been in the water the whole time. Maybe we can get the smell in there, too. If you can’t watch it, they shouldn’t do it.

  94. @ Parker your comment or the GC’s is historically inaccurate and amazingly ignorant. – Alfie

Enlighten us, then, please. We are all here to learn.

  95. “Looking at it from another vantage point, if you shower anyone with much more money than they are used to, odds are things will not end well. Most lottery winners do not fare too well.” – R

Precisely. And “uncivilized” is not a trigger word. It’s the goddamned truth. It just happens to be an unpleasant word to hear.

  96. A forensics company has ruled that the PP videos are authentic. PP has earned much of its money through abortions. Local agencies can be funded instead of planned parenthood. This crop of evil people cares more for financial gain and ideological domination than the lives of late term babies.

Obama and his regime through the deaths and life style destruction he has created is even more Satonic than PP.

An old testament God punished intentional and unwitting evil, but so far no memos or directives have come forth. I believe in God, but our recent history confirms that God is not intervening in our daily lives. We are on our own.

  97. “THAT is the way to go, particularly if Obama’s Justice Department cannot be trusted to see justice done.”

What an awesome administration….comments like this are uttered by it’s most loyal fan boys without batting an eye.

  98. “DO NOT HELP THE MATTER.”

Bull-fucking-shit. They’ve brought attention to a matter. Something you obviously couldn’t give two shits about if MSNBC tell you what’s more important is protecting your dem candidates and the disgusting practice.

Show us proof it doesn’t happen. Show us proof that’s the image of an aborted fetus. Show us proof that what the people say on the 20 + hours of video tapes is untrue or that those being interviewed are lying. Show us proof of something.

Fiorina rightly said this has to do with the character of our country. Rutherford proves it sure does. Look at where his outrage lies. He’s worried Fiorina scored points.

  99. Obama’s Justice Department. Pffffft. Maybe they’ll unleash it on the “inventor” of the clock’s oppressors.

    Thank God for surreptitious videos.

  100. Well, that’s inconvenient…

A forensic analysis of undercover videos about Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices are “authentic and show no evidence of manipulation or editing,” according to a report released Tuesday by Alliance Defending Freedom.

The analysis was completed by Coalfire, a digital security and forensics firm that has worked on civil and criminal investigations. The firm had access to all audio and video investigative footage recorded by the Center for Medical Progress.

“The Coalfire forensic analysis removes any doubt that the full length undercover videos released by Center for Medical Progress are authentic and have not been manipulated,” said Casey Mattox, senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom. “Analysts scrutinized every second of video recorded during the investigation and released by CMP to date and found only bathroom breaks and other non-pertinent footage had been removed.”

According to the report, the videos only omit footage irrelevant to the allegations such as bathroom breaks.

  101. “Every time I get told “it’s not about the videos, it’s about the practice”, what do I see next? Another fucking video.”

Oh, it’s about the videos. It’s about what these people are saying and doing and what they depict. The stuff you are denying they are admitting doing and depicting.

Rutherford is like the kid whose parents find the bag of weed in his dresser complaining that his privacy was invaded. It’s not about the weed, it’s about how they found it. The last bastion of the scoundrel.

  102. Show us proof it doesn’t happen.

Prove God does not exist. Asinine.

I swear to God you should be disbarred. You don’t even get the concept of innocent until proven guilty. You have zero respect for real evidence to impeach someone or an organization’s behavior.

You continue to embarrass yourself. Anyone else here besides BIC could be forgiven for your line of argument. You have no excuse.

  103. Calm down, Counselor. It’s not about the character of the country; you know very well that Fiorina IS trying to score points, and nothing more. She stated very clearly months ago that she has her own opinions on abortion, but they are not the law, and her job as POTUS would be to uphold the law. That would be a nice change, actually. (In case you need translation, she was saying, “Look, Girls – your right to safe abortions will be secure for as long as I am president.”) Nod, nod. Wink, wink.

Plenty of people you know very well have had abortions and will continue to do so despite your puffing and blowing. They will go on to live healthy, happy lives and have children when they can take care of them. You, on the other hand, have the luxury of pontificating, since you will never have to face that decision.

On another topic: “Show us proof it doesn’t happen.” Did you really say that? OK, you’re on. Show us proof there are no unicorns, and somebody will get right on it.

  104. On another topic: “Show us proof it doesn’t happen.” Did you really say that? OK, you’re on. Show us proof there are no unicorns, and somebody will get right on it.

    Bingo.

  105. Well the proof is they’re good, Rutherford. What proof do you have they’re not? You see, in the law, the burdens shift when someone has evidence that something is genuine. So, launch your attack. I haven’t offered proof of the existence of unicorns or even asserted it. But if I paraded one in the courtroom and you want to say it’s just a pony with horn glued to its forehead, then show us.

    This is not hard.

    Put up or shut up.

That’s how it works in the courtroom.

  106. “It’s not about the character of the country; you know very well that Fiorina IS trying to score points, and nothing more.”

    Those are not mutually exclusive.

She scored. That’s killing Rutherford because he;s trying to carry an MSNBC narrative and he;s all in with it. The egg drips from his face, so he’s pounding his fists and yelling now.

So if you’re going try and help Rutherford, help him with his dilemma. It doesn’t start with the fact that he thinks it’s okay to harvest the parts something you don’t dispute. You just say “it’s okay and it’s done all the time.” Rutherford says it doesn’t happen. If not, he has no point.

Now, there were apologies for what was shown in the video by PP. What were the apologies for unless what was depicted was correct?

Oh yeah. . . unicorns and shit. 😆

Best part? This debate is taking place. The MSNBC moron’s strategy s backfiring. Yeah, Fiorina really blew it. 😆

  107. Beyond stupid. So the videos are verified as not edited (whatever that means … bathroom breaks). It doesn’t mean they’re not propaganda.

BUT EVEN THAT IS BESIDE THE POINT!!! No one has produced a video that matches Carly Fiorina’s description, authentic or not.

Please stop it. The discussion has become silly. If you care about the practice, then argue about the practice and stop defending Carly. You’ve already lost the Carly battle and each attempt to win it makes you look more and more stupid. (That goes double for Tigre.)

CARLY WAS MISTAKEN. PERIOD, END OF STORY. STOP DISCUSSING CARLY AND MOVE THE FUCK ON TO THE MATTER AT HAND – SELLING BABY PARTS FOR PROFIT.

  108. Rutherford says it doesn’t happen.

Dropping acid again. Never said any such thing. I dispute the vids as propaganda but I’ve said repeatedly I suspect PP is slimy.

You see, that’s your safe place Tigre. Since you’ve lost the fight that Carly accurately described the vids (she didn’t) now you attribute to me a stance I’ve never taken.

I don’t think Carly lied. I think she went overboard and maybe cobbled together in her brain a bunch of different things she’s seen.

As for your representation of my position, yeah, that’s a lie.

  109. Best part? This debate is taking place. The MSNBC moron’s strategy s backfiring. Yeah, Fiorina really blew it. 😆

Yup, lets produce propaganda pieces suggesting Pope Francis is a pedo so we can shed light on the Catholic Church pedo problems. The ends justify the means.

Here’s your forensic authenticity you dumbasses. The forensically authentic vid that G posted will NOT even be attributed to Planned Parenthood by the video’s source.

  110. The fact that Tigre finds Jordan’s examination compelling speaks volumes. Tells me all I need to know of his notion of effective questioning.

    Like I said before, embarrassing.

P.S. “John Doe is a fucking asshole.” (LATER) “I apologize for that statement.” The apology is for tone and timing, not for veracity – Doe IS a fucking asshole but there is a better time and place to put it that way.

P.P.S. “Ma’am your baby is dead as a door nail”. — “I apologize for that statement.” – “I should have said ‘Ma’am, we could not save your baby'”.

  111. Hardball is leading tonight on this Planned Parenthood story and frankly I’m shocked at how far behind they are in their reporting. Facts (like the preemie baby inserted in the “forensically verified” video) have been argued here for weeks and MSNBC is reporting it as new news – I guess because the Fretz mother is speaking publicly for the first time. But it still ain’t new news.

  112. Propaganda?

The videos have PP persons and affiliated orgs admitting that they break federal law. Repeatedly. The things they describe are in clearly violation of federal law. Period.

The editing verdict is important because it is what PP uses to defend against the content of the videos. Their defense against the videos is purely one of the messenger is tainted (the videos were manipulated to portray false information), therefore the message/content should not be considered in the first place. It is their only defense. However, if the videos were not edited, as confirmed by forensic scientists, then that means that the content is not manipulated—as claimed by Richards—therefore, PP’s defense against the videos is null and void. The messenger is not tainted, therefore the message cannot be considered tainted, as PP and Richards would have everyone believe.

Fiorina is a very small red herring in all of this. This is a much, much bigger issue and you’re trying to avoid that larger issue by claiming that the videos were (1) manipulated, and so they could not be trusted and true representations of what was said. That has failed, now you’ve switched to a new strategy (2) and that is to claim that the videos are propaganda, which is intended to distort the perception of the video because you can no longer challenge the evidence presented in the video.

PP and Richards have been caught lying about the videos.

  113. gorilla – Correct me if I’m wrong, but why is PP and its funding on trial here? The videos were not of “Planned Parenthood,” they were of individual people, and the question is whether those people broke the law. If so, then carry out the prescribed punishment. If not, fine.

Are you trying to say that somehow the whole organization is now a person, or is responsible for the acts of an individual? Or is it a bit of bait-and-switch, with the knowledge that the average person can be easily hoodwinked into conflating the people with the organization, and that’s the best way to cripple PP – which means that then abortions will decrease? Isn’t that actually the real aim, not punishing people for wrongdoing?

  114. G, a preemie baby who was not aborted was presented as an aborted baby so forensics shmensics. The vids were manipulated to prove a point – which is by definition propaganda.

You need to stop it. Let Tigre die on this mountain of bullshit by himself. It’s not worth dying with him.

  115. ” Let Tigre die on this mountain of bullshit by himself. It’s not worth dying with him.”

Now, let’s not be too hasty, there, pardner…two dead lawyers for the price of one? Isn’t that the definition of a good start?

  116. Haha. Rutherford with egg on his face pounding his fist.

Give it the fuck up. You really are too stupid to learn. It;s why you keep having to shift.

Maybe if you yell louder? 😆 😆 😆

Have fun with it G. Rutherford can’t carry the MSNBC narrative so he’s going to have tantrum. This has been going for days.

You can’t make this shit up. He doesn’t even know what his own point is.

  117. You can’t make this shit up.

The first accurate thing you’ve said in days. An attorney who doesn’t know what evidence is, or burden of proof, or what constitutes doctoring of a video or ….

It’s like he’s from the island of misfit toys. “I’m a lawyer who wants you to prove something doesn’t exist … We’re all misfits!!”

  118. Nope. No idea what evidence or burden proof is or doctoring a video. 😆 😆 😆

    Yell louder!

Fiorina’s going down. Look at her circling the drain. Case closed.

  119. The “forensically verified” video in “s implies that Rutherford thinks the videos are not accurate. If so,he is being duped by the Planned Parenthood defense smoke screen to draw attention from the truth. PP calls the videos highly edited. But they are not.

However, Planned Parenthood hired a forensic firm to study the videos. They determined that the videos were not substantively manipulated. A conservative group looked at the videos and reached the same conclusion.

Planned Parenthood doctors discussed harvesting and selling baby parts. Daily Caller. That is true.

The miscarried baby’s picture was posted on his mother’s face book account. The video makers used the picture without contacting her. They spoke later, and she thinks they did the right thing. She had posted her infant’s picture to show what a 19 week baby looks like.

The videographers used the picture for the same reason, I think. It would have been hard for them to capture an actual late term abortion on tape. The video commentary shows babies are being aborted when they are at least 19 weeks old. Obviously, they are a minority, but even one when it faces no serious medical problems is wrong. Maybe you disagree. That puts you on ground more solid than arguing to support a falsehood.

The videos have documented what is happening. Whether or not they are isolated incidents is another issue. The legality is also separate from the fact that babies are being aborted and sold to other companies.

Rutherford, you might retrench and argue the issues I mentioned and others which are subject to more than one interpretation. As it is you are following the progressive line that the sky is green.

  120. The videographers used the picture for the same reason, I think.

I think not. The picture was presented to make you think you were looking at an aborted fetus, not a miscarriage.

It would have been hard for them to capture an actual late term abortion on tape.

Not if what G says is true. He posted THE video that proves Carly is right. 🙄 A video that shows (I assume) induced labor to extract the fetus for subsequent brain harvesting.

My best guess is that the ONLY thing forensically authentic means is that Photoshop or some other software was not used on the video. It says NOTHING about where various parts of the video were sourced from or whether a result of miscarriage was presented as an aborted fetus.

  121. I just saw Bill Nye float an idea that is truly mind blowing.

Eons ago there was life on Mars and matter from Mars with life on it impacted the Earth and started life here.

Another notion, far less preposterous is that Mars foretells our future. It may have once had lots of water and an inhabitable atmosphere and then something happened.

This water on Mars could turn many of our assumptions on their head. No wonder Rush Limbaugh is upset.

  122. I have yet to read anything definitive on the fetus on the table being a miscarriage, not an abortion. Not that it matters. Its just the last standing point of contention offerred by the debunkers.

“The debate being had is not about abortion.

Besides, wasn’t Obamacare suppose to solve women’s healthcare?”

    Yes, this is the point.

  123. Or that it was not alive. (Which means its no longer a fetus.)

Do we really need these kinds of problems? Everyone agrees its wrong. No one from the left wants to admit its happening. After wnough time has passed and the cover up is thorough and complete, it will just be left hanging without ever having been resolved.

Fiorina is right. This comes down to character. This has gone too far.

  124. The point is to attack political opponents and this is all they can come up with. There is no other point. From Palin being responsible for Giffords shooting, to Sandy Hook not occurring but for evil GOP gun-toting, to 20% of all college women being raped, to Fiorina going down, blah, blah, blah. . . the point is the same. It is always the same.

  125. I just saw Bill Nye float an idea that is truly mind blowing.

Eons ago there was life on Mars and matter from Mars with life on it impacted the Earth and started life here.

Since I have been frequenting far less frequently, I am now reminded why.

Bill Nye, a failed mechanical engineer by trade but brain dead Leftist through and through, who proposes an incredibly stupid idea that Mars seeded earth (it begs the question why?), and Rutherford believes that mind blowing. {snicker} I don’t even need to poke holes in this one. If I didn’t know the “sources” too well, I would have thought that from The Onion. The ‘profundity’ of Yes We Can! repeated ad infinitum.

I no longer wonder why you can’t understand why I laugh at your conclusions. Feel the Bern! Occupy Congress!

Answer me something, Rutherford. Why would the discovery of water on Mars be so amazing? 🙂 What do think comets are partially made of? Oh, that’s right. The Left, running out of ideas how life started because they have been unable to link any proof, proposed comets seeded the planet too.

I got another question for you, giant. It’s been awhile since I took Organic Chemistry, but exactly how do we know that movement is water and not methane, ammonia, carbon dioxide, etc? Hmmm? That’s a question I would like to ask NASA.

  126. “There’s a lot of this going around. First they deny the videos are real, then they claim they’re “heavily edited,” then when presented with reality they steadfastly refuse to even consider watching these gory videos. Are there a more gutless bunch of people out there than the leftist media?”

[Yes, the tools like Rutherford that mindlessly follow the message]

“What a sniveling puke. The mental gymnastics these people will perform to stay loyal to the Church of Liberalism is just amazing.”

    MSNBC!!

    I wonder what Mika thinks!

  127. Wait a minute. . . how about genetically “modifying” them so they don’t exist. . .

I see it now. PP is really just fending off the effects of global warming.

    It all makes sense.

And of course, parts is parts.

  128. Or that it was not alive. (Which means its no longer a fetus.)

Not for nothing but you’re playing loose with words. Alive or dead is irrelevant. Once the fetus leaves the birth canal (the definition of being born) it is no longer a fetus. A fetus only exists pre-birth whether born alive or dead.

  129. That’s a question I would like to ask NASA.

Then be my guest and ask them or ask someone smarter than you or I.

I don’t see a leftist conspiracy behind every scientific discovery.

If conservatives behaved this way in the 60’s we would never have gone to the moon. “It’s just a leftist distraction from LBJ’s failing administration”, they would say.

  130. I apologize for the stupid rap music at the end of the video but note this: Jason Chaffetz lied (or was “mistaken”) in his grilling of Ms. Richards. “We got this from your corporate report.” Ehhh no, no they didn’t. The source was a pro-life advocacy group. The source is even noted at the bottom of the slide Mr. Chaffetz is showing.

And this goes right back to the central point. A virtuous fight does not have to be fought using lies, distortion, and manipulation.

What is DISCUSSED on the PP videos should upset any decent person. Why the need for the graphics?

And why the need for Chaffetz to try and fool the American people and do it in such a hamfisted way?

  131. If conservatives behaved this way in the 60’s we would never have gone to the moon.

    Illiterate and churlish.

Are you not aware of exactly how CONSERVATIVE NASA was in 1969? I give you words that Apollo 8 astronaut Maj. Gen. William A. Anders, USAF, ushered upon taking the first picture of earth after orbiting the moon: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light.’

Apollo was all about beating the Russians to the moon. Back then Democrats like Kennedy had a sense of loyalty to country. Obama, Hillary and Occupy Congress Bernie believed in resetting Russia to the USSR.

But then, I wouldn’t expect a bigot and dunce like you to know, understand, or even admit.

NASA 1969. Way too white, way too male, way too Conservative.

  132. “Not for nothing but you’re playing loose with words. Alive or dead is irrelevant.”

Irrelevant to what? Whether or not we call it a fetus?

“Once the fetus leaves the birth canal (the definition of being born) it is no longer a fetus. A fetus only exists pre-birth whether born alive or dead.”

Thats half correct. The first part is my point. The second part is problematic.

It was just an afterthought to say that Im calling the fetus on the table a fetus but its not a fetus.

Which is restated by you for some reason so why dont you tell me what to call it? Alive. On a table. 19 weeks. Not miscarried.

  133. Is that what you got out my comment and what you believe about finding water on Mars, if it is true? That it challenges the story of Creation? How’s that?

    😆 😆 😆

You really are a simpleton. It’s scary that you’ve actually made it this far in life being so hapless, ignorant and poorly read. I feel like no matter how elementary I provide in the way of retort, you won’t get it. As a courtesy, I will try just this once.

My NASA example was to demonstrate the culture of NASA in the 60s. Creation had nothing to do with it – just to typify the mindset and the inspiration. As to water on Mars challenging creation or Mars seeding creation?

It does neither, nor is it intended to except in the world of imbeciles like Bill Nye and bigots like you – like my NASA example, your comment in return typifying what motivates you. That is your religion. And that is what I have been saying now for, for at least five of the years I’ve known you.

  134. <

blockquote>”Odd, I thought many comments on this board testified to the fact Muffy doesn’t believe in tacit support. Mmmm.”

    <

    blockquote>

Not odd. The concept is not lost on me. Its your convenient, inconsistent, and generally whacked out application that I dont believe in.

To say I dont believe so-and-so lied doesnt mean I dont believe that people lie.

Youre not interested in meaningful discussion, thats obvious.

  135. “And this goes right back to the central point. A virtuous fight does not have to be fought using lies, distortion, and manipulation.”

Thats yours and JALs central point. Thats MSNBCs central point.

Thats not the true central point and we all know it.

  136. Perhaps still dwelling on being proven incorrect on the “stillborn.” Perhaps hoping I wouldn’t notice the failure to produce what I said I had not yet seen – “anything definitive on the [fetus] on the table being a miscarriage, not an abortion. (Not that it matters. Its just the last standing point of contention offered by the debunkers.)”

I’ll call it a preemie next time.

  137. “Thats yours and JALs central point. Thats MSNBCs central point.

Thats not the true central point and we all know it.”

Good Lawd, we all know. That he hopes we won’t is what’s so disturbing.

  138. so why dont you tell me what to call it? Alive. On a table. 19 weeks. Not miscarried.

Once on the table, I’d call it a baby. But you’re right, I was nitpicking on semantics.

  139. Not worth a back and forth Tex. You said the astronaut recited the creation story while orbiting the Earth. I think this same astronaut might have trouble reciting the same story while staring down at a puddle on Mars. Now, he COULD and probably WOULD alter the story to make that Martian puddle a creation of God. That’s fine with me. Still alters our perception of our solar system, in which we assumed we were the only living things.

  140. At Tuesday’s House hearing on Planned Parenthood, Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyoming) questioned Cecile Richards, the organization’s president, about mammogram machines, number of clinics, how much funding is appropriated to abortion and how much is for other services rendered.

“I would very much appreciate it if you would break it down,” Lummis said about Planned Parenthood’s accounting. “Because the taxpayers are funding over 40% of Planned Parenthood and my point is they just have a right to know how this money is being spent.”

“If ta payer dollars are being used to free up services that you provide that are are a abhorrent services in the view of many taxpayers,” Lummis said. “There are alternatives in this country.”

Lummis quizzed Richards how abortion is only 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services while it garners an overwhelming amount of revenue for the non-profit.

“So abortion is included in surgical services. But I want to find out where you get your 3% figure that you cite for abortion procedures. That’s your self-reported abortion statistic,” Lummis said.

“It is 3% of all the procedures we provide,” Richards responded. “All the services we provide.”

“Let’s talk about Planned Parenthood revenue from abortions. If you look at the 2013 statistics that you report, abortions revenue would have been over 86% of your non-government revenue. How do you explain this massive disparity between the amount of revenue you collect from abortion and the fact that you only report 3% of your services being abortion?” Lummis asked

“Well, I think there’s two questions you sort of mixed in there so let me try to address both,” Richards answered. “One is, as we’ve already stated, federal money does not go for abortions. So the federal portion that we were discussing is reimbursement for preventive care services.”

  141. Still alters our perception of our solar system, in which we assumed we were the only living things.

Bill Nye. LOL You might as well believe in little green men seeded the earth.

Why would I be surprised if a puddle on Mars contained amino acids? Forget it. You wouldn’t have a clue to what I was talking about. 😈

It’s more than obvious that NASA has gone from a once proud organization of stupendous achievement to a bloated, inept government bureaucracy, catering to diversity and stupidity. Name one achievement the last decade of note? I think NASA is renting out getting people to and from the ISS anymore. The last thing I remember NASA doing noteworthy was the Chandra X-ray Observatory. That’s had to be at least 15 years now.

  142. “What is DISCUSSED on the PP videos should upset any decent person. Why the need for the graphics?”

Well…the MSM refuses to cover it in a meaningful way. Rutherford is the proof of that.

Most of the left isn’t decent. The ho hum reaction, or better yet, the smoke screens like the one Rutherford has been obsessed with, the proof.

If the justice department doesn’t investigate PP, am I supposed to feel sorry for PP individuals when a few radical pro lifers get “active”. Because I won’t.

  143. “Well…the MSM refuses to cover it in a meaningful way. Rutherford is the proof of that.

    Correct.

“Hardball is leading tonight on this Planned Parenthood story and frankly I’m shocked at how far behind they are in their reporting. Facts (like the preemie baby inserted in the “forensically verified” video) have been argued here for weeks and MSNBC is reporting it as new news – I guess because the Fretz mother is speaking publicly for the first time. But it still ain’t new news.”

Of course it’s not news. It’s current events.

Those “facts” surrounding the interstitial footage of Walter and the other preemie have been the subject of controversy since August. The only remaining “fact” in dispute as far as I can tell is the claim Rutherford keeps repeating that the preemie on the table was a miscarriage – not alive and not an abortion. To date I’ve seen nothing to back that up. I might have missed it with all the obfuscation but I don’t think so. I haven’t been corrected to that end in any case.

  144. A country that funds what is going on in those PP videos is in the death throes. When a majority of people have no problem with that, then it’s no longer a country worth saving.

This proves the American media is virtually corrupted.

    Tell you this much.

I used to condemn these abortion doctors getting their heads blown off for butchering as it defeated the message. I won’t anymore…

  145. The preemie being cupped in the hands was a miscarriage. I’m making no claim about the baby on the table (actually I think in a bowl) other than that his motions may be reflexive and not evidence that he’s still alive. I have zero proof he was not aborted.
