Hillary-Clinton-Colorized

Why Christie or Kasich Must Run

I am faced with a dilemma that any honest liberal faces. We are about to witness the coronation of the next Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America. Hillary Clinton seems to have the nomination sewn up and we are still over a year away from the Democratic Convention. We haven’t even seen a caucus or primary and it feels like we won’t see one. At least we won’t see any credible opposition. Martin O’Malley is far from compelling. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have virtually no foreign policy chops. Jim Webb is remotely interesting but hardly a guy “you wanna have a beer with”. To beat Hillary’s celebrity, we need someone with a winning personality and I’m not sure Webb is that guy.

So what is wrong with Hillary? Not a genuine bone in her body. Political to the core. And, most importantly a proven liar and obfuscater. And there, my friends, is the dilemma. How do we vote in 2016 when the candidate who says she wants to be our “champion” (a manufactured poll-tested line if there ever was one) is so full of crap?

We have to vote Republican. There are only two men on the horizon, who have not yet declared, for whom a vote from me would not kill me. They are Ohio Governor John Kasich and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Here is why:

Kasich passes the “beer companion” test. He’s likeable with a good sense of humor and a strong streak of self-deprecation. He makes a very strong case for his own candidacy — just watch his appearance on Meet the Press from this week. He’s been in and around Washington long enough to know how the place works. He balanced the budget under Bill Clinton. By his reckoning, he has turned around Ohio and as a Governor, he knows how to run stuff. He appeals to blacks. Let me repeat that — he appeals to blacks. I am thoroughly fed up with conservative candidates who make zero attempt to court the black vote.

Christie also has the “beer companion” quality. His record in New Jersey is mixed. The Jersey economy not doing as well as he might like. But he is a straight shooter in a collection of manufactured sound bites and manipulative language. His recent statement about Hillary’s opposition to big money in politics while she rakes in big money is a perfect example of his ability to call out hypocrisy. His willingness to lose a vote for the sake of honesty is admirable. Case in point: his recent trip to New Hampshire where he proposed changes to Social Security and his assertion that we need to take a new look at entitlement programs. Most conservatives will spout this when it comes to the poor (cutting food stamps, for example) but few will broach the middle class and wealthy getting their priorities straight. Christie will.

Above all, I am so tired of being lied to. My radar may be off — it has been in the past — but I feel Kasich and Christie will tell it like it is. They are WYSISYG candidates, not molded by consultants and “thought leaders”. I want a presidential candidate who will tell me the truth and not pander. They are few and far between and I think Kasich and Christie qualify.

Christie and/or Kasich must run because ABH (anyone but Hillary) is not good enough for me. I want to vote in 2016. I consider it my responsibility. But if the Republican party cannot put forward a sane, measured and transparent candidate to oppose HRC, for the first time in my adult life I may need to skip the election altogether.

What do you think? The bar is open.

  1. A) I’m not convinced that you know much about the other candidates outside of the vilification that MSDNC has provided over the last few years, so I’d hold off on judging them just yet.

    B) I’d have no problem with Kasich running, but I have serious issues with Christie, who I don’t find nearly as “straight shooting” as you claim.

    C) Your side of the isle hasn’t ACTUALLY cared about who your candidate was/is for a long time. The substance – or lack thereof – of which you’ve forced on this nation has been born out to be a nightmare of policies, a black hole of governance, and a cesspool of ethics. Yet you pulled the lever every time.

At least you’re a little more reflective this time…

  2. What an ass…

Ben Affleck insisted on censoring the fact that one of his ancestors owned slaves from PBS show “Finding Your Roots,” the Sony email hack has revealed.

In a hacked Sony email from July 22, 2014, now available on WikiLeaks, the show’s host, Henry Louis Gates Jr., writes to Sony USA chief Michael Lynton asking for advice: “One of our guests has asked us to edit out something about one of his ancestors–the fact that he owned slaves. Now, four or five of our guests this season descend from slave owners, including Ken Burns. We’ve never had anyone ever try to censor or edit what we found. He’s a megastar. What do we do?”

Lynton’s advice was to take Affleck’s family secret out of the show, as long as nobody would find out. The Sony chairman and CEO writes, “On the doc the big question is who knows that the material is in the doc and is being taken out. I would take it out if no one knows, but if it gets out that you are editing the material based on this kind of sensitivity then it gets tricky.”

  3. Christy is damaged goods, thanks to liberal Democrats who beat continuous drums in the press and on television that Christy blocked a bridge to get even with a Democratic rival. At their most extreme, they alleged that Christy’s actions killed someone. Chirsty was shown not to be involved, but the stain remains. Many ignorant uninvolved people hear the sensational charges and miss the later news.

Anti- McDonalds demonstrators blocked the same bridge I believe with little reaction except from Alex Baldwin.

A Nixon cabinent member was charged with a crime. and it was a lead story until after he was aquitted. He said something like “a court found me innocent, but who will restore my good name?”

Kasich didn’t do himself any favors with the religious freedom bill, but the mill stone he carries is smaller than Christy’s.

If you are serious, you had better look for more alternatives who can actually be elected. These two men might fill the need, but what if they don’t ? Will you still vote for someone with little chance of winning and thus put Hillary or another socialist into power, or will you hold your nose and choose someone you disagree with but who has a better chance of winning. So far no one knows who can beat the hydra.

Republicans and others made a similar mistake with Romney. He was too squishy or he didn’t pay his taxes. Whatever. “We’ll show them. We will stay home and help the other side win.” As we now know, that is poor strategy.

Our son and we visited last evening. He has heard Ben Aflek in enough local interviews to say that Ben truely is an ass. They live in the Bay area and have had a little rain, but most grass is still brown when it should be green.

  4. Christie was damaged goods long before Bridgegate. When he was tongue kissing Obama after the hurricane, he was toast with the right. He’ll never get the nomination.

Kucinich doesn’t want it, and ain’t going to try to get it.

Rutherford will be voting for Hillary. Guaranteed.

  5. I think that you are falling for too much right wing media. I am not thrilled to have Hillary as a candidate primarily because I was really pissed off by her support for the Iraq war and not conceding when she was clearly going to lose the primary in 2008. I am also not a fan of dynasties. Unfortunately there are no compelling alternatives and so like Dukakis, Clinton, Gore and Kerry she will get my vote and support. Obama earned it.

  6. “Obama earned it”

Agreed. I proudly voted Obama due to his principled voting record. No wait a minute, it was the business he built from the ground up…..no….that’s not it. His awesome and deep writings on Constitional Law? His military record? His community activism?

  7. Instead of posting a music video or something similar, I am expressing my anger.

Ajax, ” I think you are falling for too much” left wing media. Betsy is a North Carolina high school teacher with a blog. Read Betsy’s Page today and see if you still want to elect Hillary. You could use the education too, Rutherford. Obama earned nothing.

He stole it with the complicity of our press. He stole the election in the sense that he turned himself into something as artificial as the Greek columns he used when he was running. “You can keep your doctor” is one of many blatant lies he has told.

Ajax, it is easy to write what you wrote and then disappear for weeks or months as you abandon Rutherford a sort of kindred soul to the tender mercies of smart and effective flame throwers.

You know the location of this site, and yet you leave Rutherford hanging. I suggest you prove your courage and abilities by defending your position with real facts. You might discredit today’s version of Betsy’s Page. If you don’t return until next time, I will conclude you are the same sort of effete coward as other liberals like Newt or New Newt or other “liberals” who have graced these pages. A couple of them here and elsewhere personally attacked me and maybe others. They folded because of what they are.

I nearly mentioned Christy’s love fest with Obama. I agree, that is another mill stone, especially with Republicans. Bridgegate will have a more widespread effect though the Obama date would have more intensive and party ramifications.

  8. G, that HRC video with the maniacal fake Hillary laugh is fucking chilling. Ajax and Rutherford are going to vote for that shit.

Yes Rutherford. I am calling bullshit — and “yes” I can read you mind and heart. You’ve laid them bare though your past actions.

  9. James, I honestly think bridge-gate is a snoozefest for anyone in flyover country. Unless Christie gets indicted (unlikely) bridge-gate is truly a nothingburger.

I view Christie’s problem as having a weak NJ track record. Governors only have an advantage over Senators if they can prove they governed successfully. I fear that might be a hurdle for Christie. But damn I love the guy. The only time he bothered me was when he turned his in-your-face approach into a bit of schtick and went on too long with the attack once.

  10. Kucinich doesn’t want it, and ain’t going to try to get it.

If you’re gonna opine, smartass get the names right. Dennis Kucinich is a Democrat.

John KASICH has run before and one thing the pundits say is that running for POTUS is addictive.

It should comfort some of you to know he’s waiting for God to tell him if this is what he’s meant for.

  11. Rutherford will be voting for Hillary.

Save up for that plane ticket counselor. You’ll either see me pull the lever for GOP or independent, OR we’ll watch My Cousin Vinny on a loop until the polls close.

  12. Rutherford is always accusing Muffy of being my sister. I’m accusing Ajax of being Rutherford’s sycophant – either Densico in penis pants, or some other People Magazine reader from the Left.

    That was pitiful. 😆

  13. On Christie embracing Obama – that is the superficial symptom. The underlying disease is that Christie suffers from “pinch me, is this real?” syndrome. I remember reading how thrilled he was to see Airforce 1 and how his mother would’ve been so amazed.

He has a childlike wonder at how far he has come. It can be viewed as humility or immaturity.

His praise for Obama in 2012 was VERY pointed and specific. Obama helped him with Hurricane Sandy. Plain and simple. Frankly, his behavior then, makes his current criticisms of Obama more credible, not less.

  14. Rutherford, Kasich was the one months ago that I said I thought was the Republican who had the best chance of winning the Presidency – not that Kasich is my 1st choice – but he’s more than acceptable.

Win Ohio, win the race. Virginia would go right back to being red if we could cut D.C. to the bone. There’s been a huge influx of feckless, thieving Leftists that are living large on our dime up in the D.C. suburbs that have swung that state blue in recent years. Cut of their food supply and the rats would starve. Same with the higher education hubs in NC.

I’m not sure what is driving Florida anymore but I suspect it an influx of Yankee idiots bailing out of New York and Taxachusetts, bringing their failed ideology with them.

  15. “I view Christie’s problem as having a weak NJ track record.”

The problem is the right doesn’t like him.

  16. “If you’re gonna opine, smartass get the names right.”

Oh, okaaay, dumb ass. Read on if you’re going to “opine.”

  17. The thing that most concerns me about this next election is the young voting bloc. Too many are so ignorant, amoral and detached and still are. The education system in America has corrupted them to the point I’m not sure they can recover. Too many truly are mindless, bleating sheep.

Even the young realize that Obama has been a massive failure on so many levels, he is so yesterday. But too many of these young people can’t reason enough to understand why the idiot Obama has been such a failure. They still think all policies are the same.

They conclude these politicians are all criminal as they toke another doobie and converse about subjects they don’t understand a damn thing about, believing Jon Stewart is the world’s smartest man. Many still think like Obama Europe is a model of success as Greece gets ready to file bankruptcy. I kid you not. 🙄

I can see these young, superficial minds of mush getting right back on the “history wagon” of electing the first female President for the same reasons they elected the first black President, then spending the next eight years whining how they can’t find a job besides the Subway shop as ISIS runs through the neighborhood while they celebrate 420 and gay marriage.

I told a few of those from the younger generation like my eldest daughter, those who recognize Lefties like Stewart are propagandist and pimp manipulating the stupid, there would come a day she and her soon-to-be-husband would have to give serious thought of leaving this country as it begin to implode, and the barista rubes of her generation came looking for stash and munchies right before ISIS saws their heads off.

    The question is where?

  18. I love how Rutherford thinks his opinions and those of the left will or should control a GOP candidate.

Hey genius, Christy can’t win with the support of the right wing. He’s damaged goods — TO THE RIGHT. It doesn’t matter how impressed you or MSNBC is with him.

God, I’m surprised you’re not lecturing us about MSNBC’s other favorite, Jon Huntsman. 🙄

  19. “Save up for that plane ticket counselor. You’ll either see me pull the lever for GOP or independent, OR we’ll watch My Cousin Vinny on a loop until the polls close.”

    Already purchased.

    No absentee ballots now.

  20. Yes, Rutherford, Bridgegate did soon become a snoozefest in most of flyover country. But on the coasts, it was a different story. Obama’s and Christy’s love fest while understandable because Obama promised (but later didn’t really deliver on) aid to a desperate state didn’t make many ripples on the coasts, but it certainly created a wave in some of the red states. Christy was so grateful some blamed him for helping Obama win.

The big cities have more votes than the heartland. Christy will need every conservative vote available to counter balance the coasts. As of today, he won’t get them.

Issues, unless someone bombs the White House or cuts the Middle East oil supply or finds grandma in a freezer will not decide this election. Likeability and trust will. Republicans’ best chance for victory is to hector and humiliate through humor and laughter biased press and politicians. It will have to be “Smile when you say that pardner.”

Hillary is already prime for that sort of treatment,.

You should read Betsy’s Page, Rutherford. Hillary must not win this election.

  21. R’s prayers have been answered…

Despite repeated claims to the contrary, Mayor Bill de Blasio is positioning himself to be the leftist “progressive” alternative to Wall Street-friendly Hillary Rodham Clinton as the Democratic candidate for president, a national party operative told The Post.

De Blasio’s hope, the operative said, is a “Draft de Blasio’’ movement will develop among progressive activists over the next several months that will lead to the mayor being able to defeat Clinton in the primary elections next year in much the same way leftist Sen. George McGovern successfully challenged the initially front-running establishment Democratic candidate, Sen. Edmund Muskie, more than 40 years ago.

Standing ready to back de Blasio against Clinton, said the operative, is the state’s small but influential Working Families Party, which has strong ties to de Blasio and is funded by some of the nation’s most powerful labor unions.

Earlier this year, the New York-based WFP urged Massachusetts Senator and Wall Street-bashing “progressive’’ favorite Elizabeth Warren to challenge Clinton and run for president — but she has repeatedly said she won’t do so.

  22. I’m not convinced that you know much about the other candidates outside of the vilification that MSDNC has provided over the last few years, so I’d hold off on judging them just yet.

I’ll give you the MSDNC propaganda and you tell me where they’re wrong:

    1) Jeb has the same FP advisors that worked for brother W — they did a real fine job the first time, didn’t they?
    2) Rubio championed immigration reform until he got pushback from conservatives and then he backpedaled. Plus, he’s a social conservative and I am not. (Very likeable, smart in small sound bites, not so smart if you let him talk too long, very similar level of experience to Obama — slightly more but only slightly).
    3) Paul flip-flops. He’s a bold libertarian until the heat gets too hot and then he backs off. Case in point, no more foreign aid to Israel — he’s chickened out on that one.
    4) Ted Cruz is crazy like a fox. Just the thought of him reading Green Eggs and Ham to Vlad Putin scares the shit out of me.
    5) Scott Walker – palatable — definitely a resilient politician but I don’t think he’s ready to lead in foreign policy. Also not sure he has the “star quality” to beat Hillary.
    6) Ben Carson – accomplishments entirely outside of politics – a smarter version of Herman Cain. Won’t get nomination but I’m listing him to be fair.
    7) Lindsey Graham – running for president out of the blue — who woulda thunk it? To my mind has opposite problem to Walker — very focused on FP. I have zero idea what he would do domestically.
    8) Mike Huckabee – we could do worse but again, a social conservative which I’m not.
    9) Rick Santorum – see Mike Huckabee.
    10) Bobby Jindal – reputedly a very smart man but he comes off as a lightweight.
    11) Donald Trump and Sarah Palin – not going to run and both totally laughable.

  23. Rutherford, you are voting with your penis if your choice of POTUS has to pass the “beer companion” test. You really don’t think you want to share a beer with Hillary? I think she’s man enough 😉

First off Let me clarify my position. I will not vote for HRC !!!

Do you really think there is a politician who doesn’t lie or are you looking for one that doesn’t blatantly lie? A question for you: What are your thoughts on the qualifications that a POTUS should have versus what it takes to actually be elected POTUS? Are the two compatible?

I think Jeb is going to be the GOP nominee and then we will have two dynasties from which to choose. Hillary ran the WH while Bill was president so in some respects this will be her third term.

  24. Why does anybody like Christie? It’s very obvious – Christie hasn’t allow himself to be bullied the unholy alliance of Lefty school administrators, unions, and Democratic byline media. Otherwise, there’s not a whole lot there IMO. That self-absorbed speech by Christie at Mitt Romney’s kick off was rank.

Let me tell you how bad New Jersey is, with or without Christie, never minding it is perhaps the most lawless state in the nation. Example. Why did Barack Obama not put Jon Corzine in prison after Corzine bilked thousands out of billions where he belongs? Why? Because Corzine is a Dem politician. Everyone now knows Obama is as corrupted as he is stupid. Non issue now. But Corzine is no different than Bernie Madoff. Remember, Obama promised to go after these white-collar criminals (cough cough).

I got a friend whose brother still lives in Jersey, though my friend has been begging his brother to bail for years. Man won’t leave because of his wife and kids – only home they’ve ever known.

This brother has a house that has been estimated to be worth $325K. The frickin’ property taxes on the thing are $23K a year. 🙄 Every year that goes by, 7% of the value of this dupe’s home goes to a failed state. That is abject stupidity. That is why NJ is predictably blue. It’s gone. It’s corrupted. Only it’s history and the fact it borders NYC keeps it alive. One day like NYC, it will collapse.

First — MSNBC has done their damnedest to discredit Chris Christie. So, sorry you’re wrong again. MSNBC can’t get enough of bridge-gate and I saw through their smear job months ago.

Second, Christie had a very good week in New Hampshire. Have you seen Bush’s numbers? They ain’t great. Who’s gonna fill that void? I say Christie (whose numbers also aren’t that great) has a chance to do it.

Third my lectures on Jon Huntsman ended in 2012 when he imploded. Yes, I liked him a lot.

As for your assertion that it doesn’t matter what liberals think about the GOP hopefuls — wow are you shortsighted. No GOP candidate is going to win with the current national demographics. The only way is to steal votes from Hillary – and the only way to do that is to attract on-the-fence liberals like me. So yeah, Reince Priebus better listen to me and others like me, who are not “ready for Hillary”. He CAN get our vote if he plays his cards right.

  26. Your criticism of Cruz has no substance. What, substantially vis a vis policy, do you not like?

Frankly, of all of them, right now I like Cruz the most. Though I think there are some other interesting candidates running. I think you’ve over-simplified Rubio and Jindal. Paul I don’t really care for, just like I didn’t care for his dad either. Rands just not as racist as his pops…

  27. That self-absorbed speech by Christie at Mitt Romney’s kick off was rank.

Yet another reason I like Christie. He swallowed hard and spoke at the convention even though he didn’t think Romney the right man for the job. He spent as little of the speech talking about Romney as possible — so he could spend more time being genuine. The guy doesn’t like to bullshit people.

  28. G, OK the Green Eggs and Ham did not qualify as analysis, I admit.

Cruz prides himself on obstructionism. He will screw his own party if it suits his interests. As a Senator, he interfered with House deliberations, encouraging discord. I’m quite sure both Boehner and McConnell wanted to kick his ass.

I see as much ego in him as you see in Obama.and ego can be a very dangerous thing.

Not for nothin’, his announcement speech full of “I imagine …” was reminiscent of “hope and change” from a certain someone you greatly disdain.

I’d love to hear you elaborate on Rubio and Jindal. I don’t dismiss Rubio’s ability to seriously challenge HRC but again he’s a social conservative which ain’t copacetic with me. Plus as I said, let him talk long enough and he sounds dumb. I don’t remember the particulars but on Face the Nation back in December, Rubio disparagingly compared Cuba to China. When asked if we should cut off relations with China, Rubio responded that China was not like Cuba. Huh?

  29. I told Muffy I didn’t see any possible female candidates for President on the horizon yesterday I found viable – not that they weren’t out there but these gals wouldn’t subject their families to the shoveled dung or had showed no interest. So I thought hard. Then I remembered one I listened to that has the potential to be dynamite, though I have no if she would ever be interested either in furthering her political career:

    Kristi Noem – South Dakota

Don’t know much about here except for a few speeches I’ve heard. But she was attractive, relatively young and fresh, appeared bright, ordinary in an extraordinary kind of way, and I was impressed with why she got involved n politics. Now I hope Kristi doesn’t disappoint.

  30. Let me repeat — Fiorina is a failure. Turn her over, she’s done.

As for Nikki Haley, I’m not hearing her name bandied about as a possibility which is interesting in that she was getting lots of positive buzz a few years ago.

  31. Cruz’s intellect and true ability compared to the community activist would be humorous, except you would never understand the gulf. No less than libbie Alan Dershowitz call Ted Cruz his most intelligent student he had taught.

Obama was a gift wrapped package, groomed over a period of years with a gift of gab in a prepared presentation in front of a teleprompter. Off the cuff, Obama is more of a buffoon than Bush.

  32. You can call Cruz an obstructionist, yes, but you must remember, a very large majority of the American people did not want Boehner or McConnell to work with Obama or the Dems. THEY WANTED OBSTRUCTION, and Cruz gave it to them. DWS can call Cruz and the lot of GOP hopefuls all the names she wants, but she’ll never once engage any of them in debate because they would beat her ass like the rented mule that she is.

I think you’re wrong on Fiorina, and that the only thing that’ll hold her back is better GOP candidates already in the field.

Curious your thoughts on the de Blassio story. I think he’d stand about as good a chance as Fauxahantas, which is kin to a snowball in hell…

  33. Of note…

An Uber driver in Chicago with a concealed carry license defended himself and a group of pedestrians against a man who opened fire on a crowded street Friday night, a state attorney said in court on Sunday.

Assistant State Attorney Barry Quinn said that 22-year-old Everardo Custodio began shooting at a group of pedestrians shortly before midnight Friday, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The group was passing in front of a vehicle occupied by an unnamed 47-year-old Uber driver.

The driver, who has a state-issued firearm owner’s identification card, pulled out a shotgun and fired six times, hitting Custodio in the shin, knee and lower back, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Police responded quickly and found Custodio lying in the middle of the street. The Uber driver stayed on the scene and provided a statement to police.

The driver does not face charges as, according to Quinn, he “was acting in self-defense and in the defense of others.”

Custodio’s gun was recovered at the scene. He is still in the hospital and faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful weapons charges.

A spokeswoman for Uber told the Sun-Times that the driver had just dropped off a passenger when Custodio began shooting. The company plans to interview the driver and his passenger. His Uber profile is still active.

Had Friday’s incident occurred just a little more than a year ago, the Uber driver would likely face weapons charges of his own…

  34. a very large majority of the American people did not want Boehner or McConnell to work with Obama or the Dems. THEY WANTED OBSTRUCTION

Can you back that up with a statistic? I’m under the distinct impression that the majority of Americans are tired of Congress doing nothing and want to see cooperation. A quick Google revealed a poll suggesting that REPUBLICANS are not as interested in cooperation as Democrats but the majority of folks overall want compromise.

Democratic Party supporters show a greater desire for political compromise than Republicans, but only a slight majority of Americans say political intransigence is the main cause of congressional dysfunction, a new Al Jazeera America/Monmouth University survey suggests.

When asked by pollsters who causes more problems in the federal government — “elected officials who are not willing to stand up for their principles or elected officials who are not willing to compromise” — 71 percent of self-identifying Democrats blamed officials who are not willing to compromise, whereas just 40 percent of Republicans agreed.

Nearly half of Republican respondents, 49 percent, said politicians cause trouble by not standing up for their principles, compared with 20 percent of Democrats. Overall, the survey found that 54 percent of Americans think the bigger problem is lack of compromise.

  35. I do not believe DeBlasio has the national attention of a Bloomberg, Giuliani or a Koch. He’s still too new in the job and in the eyes of some, he has already fumbled a couple of times. I know some hay is being made about his not immediately endorsing Hillary but I would be surprised to see him challenge her.

  36. “The only way is to steal votes from Hillary – and the only way to do that is to attract on-the-fence liberals like me.”

First, you ain’t on the fence.

Second, what it takes to bring you over ain’t worth a shit of Christy is rejected by the base. What part of this don’t you understand?

  37. As for your beloved MSNBC:

“Before admitting a general anti-Christie bias on MSNBC, Scarborough quickly defended his own show: “They’re obviously not talking about Morning Joe because John Heilemann calls our show ‘Good Morning, Trenton,’ because we love Chris Christie so much around here.” Scarborough continued: “…you can push back against whatever network you want to push back against….if Chris Christie is not telling the truth – are there fifteen people that are going to perjure themselves for Chris Christie….I mean, we’ve said it before, if Chris Christie’s telling the truth, he’ll be fine. And if he’s not telling the truth, he won’t survive.” He concluded: “…this weekend was just sort of one more story in this unfolding story that makes a lot of Republican donors – and this is the big political story here – nationwide starting to scratch their heads going, ‘Is this guy really our best chance to beat Hillary Clinton in 2016?’ I think more and more people are waking up to this news like this saying, ‘No.'”

  38. Rutherford do you just want to be asked or will your vote require more vigorous wooing?

When you say “social conservative” – you’re referring to what, in particular?

Nothing I’ve read leads me to believe moderates or independents stayed home for Mitt.

  39. I also don’t think moderates or independents stayed home from Mitt.
I haven’t seen our grand daughter in over a week, but we are in Omaha today. The family says our grand daughter went to the front door last week and said “I want Opa” (German for Grandpa.)

You need a fall back position Rutherford. Who could you vote for if you had to hold your nose?

  40. Who could you vote for if you had to hold your nose?

Putting aside the two mentioned in the essay, if I had to hold my nose, Bush, Rubio, MAYBE Paul or Graham. Holding my nose, stuffing my ears and keeping my eyes closed – Huckabee and Santorum.

I’d sooner put needles in my eyes than vote for Fiorina or Cruz.

And I’d vote for Carson because this country needs a 2nd black president — it would make history. 😆

  41. Tigre – lame. The clip is from January 20. Watch Joe today where he and his gang conjecture Christie might mimic Mitt’s rise from struggling to full blown front runner. Also notice in your clip, Joe (in typical fashion) discusses only HIS show. He does NOT say that Steve Kornacki, Chris Matthews or Rachel Maddow were not indeed on the warpath against Christie.

By your own supposition Tigre, I’m the MSNBC drone so don’t try to beat me at my own game — I know what they cover and how they cover it. When Christie looked viable, they tried their best to discredit him.

  42. Muffy, very broadly, I define social conservative as someone who doesn’t want to stay out of my bedroom and out of my personal business. Right now, that includes any candidate who comes up anti-gay.

To a lesser extent I get antsy when they talk pro-life. Even though I grow more pro-life the older I get, I really don’t want to hear my president talking about it. Quite frankly, don’t need him talking pro-choice either. Just want him to mind his damn business on private matters and make sure there are jobs and the country is protected.

  43. “Tigre – lame. The clip is from January 20. Watch Joe today where he and his gang conjecture Christie might mimic Mitt’s rise from struggling to full blown front runner.”

    When was Bridgegate?

    Who actually TiVos morning Joe?

    As to the “conjecture?” So?

    Do you have a point?

  44. “Right now, that includes any candidate who comes up anti-gay.”

Right now, I want to know what you mean by “anti-gay.” You mean gay marriage. Your Messiah’s position when you voted for him before he changed it? Hillary’s too? All that was okay with you when it was a dem candidate is intolerable now?

Please tell me you mean something else. What “anti-gay” stuff are you talking about? Really.

  45. Thanks Rutherford. Some of those are in my neighborhood too.

Christy reportedly did a good job at a town meeting in a bar.

Your definitation of social conservatives is too narrow. Some are more like “Country Folks will survive.”

  46. “Just want him to mind his damn business on private matters and make sure there are jobs and the country is protected.”

You are making my queasy with all of the spinning around.

You want big government social policies and controls on nearly everything conceivable, until today at 5:25 p.m.?

  47. You want big government social policies and controls on nearly everything conceivable, until today at 5:25 p.m.?

That so? To the extent that “big government” can influence a healthy economy I want them involved. Their “social role” is to protect the weak and vulnerable from abuse. That’s about it.

  48. Evidently litmus tests are OK sometimes.

Taking yours one at a time, Rutherford, Tigre’s follow up questions @ April 20, 2015 at 6:43 pm, which I’ve copied below in full so you don’t flip your chit, reflect mine as well.

“Right now, I want to know what you mean by “anti-gay.” You mean gay marriage. Your Messiah’s position when you voted for him before he changed it? Hillary’s too? All that was okay with you when it was a dem candidate is intolerable now?”

We’ll get back to abortion after this “anti-gay” jive is clarified.

  49. Tigre and Muffy, yes I suppose I would say anti-gay marriage although I view that as really just shorthand for being anti-gay. We’re at a point where only the most tone-deaf pol would say “I think gays are disgusting” even though that’s exactly how they feel.

  50. “To the extent that “big government” can influence a healthy economy I want them involved. Their “social role” is to protect the weak and vulnerable from abuse. That’s about it.”

    So Rutherford is now libertarian.

Or, he never believes in big government on social policies. . . unless he likes them.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

    That’s a disciplined ideology. 🙄

  51. You can’t be against gay marriage without being “anti-gay?”

How do you square that with your anti-gay Obama and Clintons that didn’t create any problems for you when you pulled the levers?

Let’s try this on for size, Rutherford. How many genders are there?

  52. Or, he never believes in big government on social policies. . . unless he likes them.

True of everyone my friend, even you. Ya know the saying “politics is local”? I take it a step further. Politics is personal. All of our ideologies are self serving.

  53. BTW I DO have a libertarian streak. You seem to forget my 2008 inner conflict about Ron Paul. Dude talked enormous sense but then there were those damn racist newsletters.

  54. Yes, politics is local and personal. Most, but not all people will vote for the good of the country as long as it coincides with their own welfare.

“How many genders are there?” is a tricky question when one explores the genetic twilight zone between male and female.

  55. How many genders are there?

    Hard to say nowadays.

The reason I can overlook Obama’s evolution on gay marriage is that opposition to it was never part of his plank.

Huckabee and Santorum have made this their major cause. Truth be told, I should give Marco a pass cos he doesn’t strut around condemning gay marriage. He just tells his truth when asked. So, Marco, I give you a pass dude!

  56. You haven’t got a lick of libertarianism in you Obama boy.

And I don’t agree that there’s no ideological consistency.

A fetus is weak and vulnerable.

A small business owner can be weak and vulnerable, particularly when it comes to the intolerant militant progressive thought police. Remember Indiana’s favorite pizzeria? You don’t give a fuck about protecting them. Their daughter never discriminated against gays at the restaurant but still needed to STFU and comply when it came to her beliefs when it came to gay marriage ceremonies as I recall.

Atlanta has the second largest gay population on the country. Are they weak and vulnerable?

  57. My question: why won’t the guy fucking declare? What’s he waiting for?

Timing, Rutherford. Some people believe timing is EVERYTHING. I tend to agree.

  58. “Can you back that up with a statistic? I’m under the distinct impression that the majority of Americans are tired of Congress doing nothing and want to see cooperation. A quick Google revealed a poll suggesting that REPUBLICANS are not as interested in cooperation as Democrats but the majority of folks overall want compromise”

How many times do we have to go over this?

“Cooperation” in politics means other people doing what you want. It doesn’t mean you giving in and doing what others want. People only want cooperation from those who represent others. They don’t want their representatives to “cooperate”–they want their representatives to represent their interests. The system is designed that way–and that is why the system is actually working.

Congress polls so low because the polls ask people about “congress”, instead of their own representation. The more realistic way of looking at it is that congress has the support of the majority, because each person in it has won a majority of a vote.

The Republicans that were sent to Congress in 2010, 2012, and 2014 were sent their to either undo or halt the doings of the opposition. Had people liked what Democrats were doing–THEY’D HAVE ELECTED DEMOCRATS.

I’ve articulated this on multiple occasions, Rutherford. You’re either not comprehending it or intentionally ignoring it.

  59. “The reason I can overlook Obama’s evolution on gay marriage is that opposition to it was never part of his plank.

Huckabee and Santorum have made this their major cause. Truth be told, I should give Marco a pass cos he doesn’t strut around condemning gay marriage. He just tells his truth when asked. So, Marco, I give you a pass dude!”

Neither Obama’s “evolution” nor yours is even remotely sincere.

  60. I don’t get all the mental masturbation. It will be Hillary and Jeb. The rest is just filler.

I don’t think so, Poolman. I’m not entirely sure either one of them are going to make it, though I think since the Democratic Party has no principles besides self and gimmedat, Hillary’s many crimes are easily overlooked.

Unless Jeb Bush is a whole lot better than I’ve been led to believe, I don’t think Jeb is going to make it.

  61. Muffy, Rutherford is full of shit and deflecting (as usual). The sham called gay marriage is so far off the Rutherford reality radar, it wouldn’t register truth be known. He’s the lagging sheep following the bell.

But I’ll tell you what these social issues really are as I preach to the choir – it’s an excuse to continue to justify his personal investment in massive failure known as Proggie politic because Rutherford can’t admit he is wrong and the ideology has become more than just a failure – it’s become a punch line.

Anything religious, “R” will use an ammunition. This man is rank bigot, and that’s okie dokie – I just wish he were more honest in his admittance about it.

Rutherford can’t even bring himself to admit Obama is diminished and toast. He’s still of the opinion this milquetoast coward and his mule of a wife are middle of the road success. Where is all you got to ask and Rutherford will pass on to the next comment. 😛

  62. Other can include more than one gender variant. Things get a bit strange in the Twilight Zone.

Too many liberal Democrats can accept aborting seven pound babies, or even dismembering them alive. Someone with Planned Parenthood admitted that there isn’t much money in saving a baby and referring it for adoption.
Republicans should demand to know what the Democratic candidates think about killing babies.

  63. There is a condition where a genetically normal male can’t react to male hormones. The extreme result is a girl without internal reproductive organs no matter how much testostersone is circulating though her body. Many don’t know they are different until their teens. Others suffer from less extreme variants of the condition.

Another small group appears to be female and are raised that way until their teens when they begin to develop male characteristics.

I read that there may be as many as 10 or 20 true hermaphrodites in the world.

I took an abnormal psychology course in college.

I don’t know if it is true, but a true eunoch appeared on the Sally Jessie Raphael Show years ago.

We had a cat that way. The children called her hormona because after her first litter of kittens she turned male appearing and behaved like a tom cat.

Otherwise, it is a reflection of our times. Physically normal people believe things about themselves which are not true.

  64. Such people are relevant only as curiosities as long as their civil rights are maintained. The next relevant question is when is abortion murder? Or is it, even if the baby can survive outside of the womb?

  65. “Such people are relevant only as curiosities as long as their civil rights are maintained.”

How would you know if their civil rights are being maintained?

  66. Muffy hate to let you in on this but you’re in no position to judge my sincerity. You actually don’t know me (LOL although sometimes I’ve scratched my head wondering if you do – you’ve said some spooky shit in the past).

  67. Time for the classic Rutherford avoidance.

How ’bout this for avoidance – go fuck yourself.

I can’t be any clearer. Politicians need to lay off the body parts and how they’re used and stick with domestic economic and foreign policy. If you had a brain in your head you’d be asking Huckabee how he’s going to get us a REAL low unemployment rate (and not the manufactured one we currently get fed).

In fact, I may even have to give Santorum a pass because this time around he’s been talking more economics and less morality. Maybe he learned something from 2012?

  68. Physically normal people believe things about themselves which are not true.

As in, they are a woman trapped in a man’s body. Trouble is James, if that is their reality, who are we to say it’s “not true”?

I have trouble wrapping my head around transsexuals but I have come to believe they are as sure of who they are as you and I are.

  69. “If you had a brain in your head you’d be asking Huckabee how he’s going to get us a REAL low unemployment rate (and not the manufactured one we currently get fed).”

I’ll be sure to ask him that next time I see him. If you get to him first, let me know what he says. I think I know what he would say: get the feds of the backs of business. Interesting that Huckabee is called upon for that answer from you when Obama never was. Sensing a pattern here but that can’t be.

I guess I don’t need to bother with Rubio now. You made excellent points that anti-gay motherfucker too. Just sayin’.

Anyway, glad you were able to back up what you say and address the issues. I was worried you were just talking shit again. Very well reasoned.

  70. If the abortion question were easy to answer there would no longer be a debate.

I used to think men had no right to tell women what to do with their bodies but that logic goes so far. We tell women they can’t use their hand to pick up a gun and shoot someone. So why can’t we tell them they can’t terminate a growing life?

Despite Muffy’s skepticism, I have evolved to this point: my only objection at this point is do we want women who will get an abortion anyway to go black market and possibly die? I don’t think anyone here has an easy answer for that.

Other than that consideration, unless the mother’s life is at risk, abortion is the wrong choice to make.

  71. How would you know if their civil rights are being maintained?

Answer your own question Socrates. I’m not sure YOU have a working definition of civil rights.

  72. So Huck you do confuse me. I get the notion that people want cooperation from any representative but their own. Yet how do you explain the disparity between the Democratic perception of cooperation vs the Republican perception, as evidenced in the Al-jazerra poll?

  73. Gotta know what their gender to determine what their rights are with respect to them — the pint of the rhetorical question you are demanding an answer to. See how that works? LOL.

You’re really jacking them out of the park today.

Hey, what’s the difference between infanticide and late term abortion?

  74. Rutherford, you’re like a monkey humping a football, you religious bigot.

I am certainly not “anti-gay” under your definition — and Obama’s too. Does that make me gay?

Perhaps someday you’ll be honest about your thoughts on these matters and stop trying to carry a narrative.

  75. “Yet how do you explain the disparity between the Democratic perception of cooperation vs the Republican perception, as evidenced in the Al-jazerra poll?”

More Democrats want compromise from Congress because there are less Democrats in Congress.than there are Republicans.

The fact is that the system is designed in a way that if enough people are unhappy with what their representatives are doing—they can replace them. And some of them did get replaced…

    …didn’t they? wink

That’s the only poll that matters when discussing the “popularity” of Congress.

  76. Hey, what’s the difference between infanticide and late term abortion?

Are you asking me a legal question or a lay men’s question?

Part of the problem with the abortion debate is the sloppy rhetoric that serves as nothing but distraction from the moral issue.

I’m not aware of an infant living inside the womb. Infants exist outside the womb. So yes there is a distinction between infanticide and a late term abortion, from my layman’s perspective. That is a distinction of definition.

Is there a moral distinction? I don’t suppose there is. What do you think?

  77. I am certainly not “anti-gay” under your definition — and Obama’s too. Does that make me gay?

Hell no. Your snarky sarcasm is what sets my gaydar off. 😆

Call me a religious bigot all you want. It is unforgivable that Jerry Falwell blamed 9/11 on homosexuals, unforgivable. It’s that kind of judgmental stance that makes me say keep your nose out of my bedroom.

One thing to be said for Falwell. At least he didn’t dress up his disgust for gays in “defense of marriage”. He just plain thought they were sinners whether they wanted to get married or not.

  78. I’m not aware of an infant living inside the womb. Infants exist outside the womb. So yes there is a distinction between infanticide and a late term abortion, from my layman’s perspective. That is a distinction of definition.

Well, what are these “infants” doing inside the womb then if they’re not living? In the oven cooking? If the “infant” is in the birth canal, is it not really living? How about if its laying on a table with the umbilical cord still attached, yet not breathing on its own?

Rutherford, I don’t think you necessarily a bad soul, but your amorality tends to bend you toward true evil more often than not. Ironically, too many of this younger generation think like you. It’s why we’ve got a cool President instead of a capable one.

As this healthcare system collapses and money becomes squeezed and that is already happening as the politicians continue to kick the can down the road about entitlements, not only are these young Leftists and man haters going to look at a 7 lbs infants not really living, they’re going to look at a disabled, middle aged man like you as a liability. You cost too much and that’s not fair. These young dupes and abortion eugenicists are going to look at you as gaming the system – and your life is going to quickly become expendable. That goes for all of us old farts to a degree, but you most of all.

One day the Rutherford Lawsons of the world will become the Terri Schiavos of the world. These relativists you’ve partnered with all these years in politic, may indeed become your executioner one day. Simply turn off the respirator, take your medications away, and consider themselves good stewards and good citizens of mother earth when they do it.

You better think about the quality of these folk you’re sleeping with. And I say that as a friend who values your life to the end – a lot of people don’t think like I do.

  79. Now you’re talking about Falwell? Man, you are the master of misdirection.

You know, the most vocal “anti-gay” folks that I know are brothers. In fact you might remember the proposition eight vote. The black community is among the most vocal anti-gay demographic. No gays are the “new black” to you. Hilarious.

Muslim have been known to throw gays off of rooftops. Never heard you say a word about the Muslim community. Now we know they too are “anti-gay.” Well, except for the willingness to support gay marriage. Just look at well the gate ceremonies at the mosque.

Turned out your liberal heroes, Obama and Clinton, or “anti-gay” too. Still haven’t heard anything in response to that from you.

And now I am gay based on some negative stereotype you have of gays.

Yep, you really nailed Marco Rubio with your analysis. That guy’s a big Fagg hater. There’s no way you should be able to support him. Just look at Falwell. 🙄

You sure know how to prove a point, Rutherford.

    You need a core.

  80. Hey, that wasn’t too bad for a dictated comment on my phone. A couple of typos but it got across Rutherford’s prog-driven simulated outrage. I think Siri asked whether “third Rutherford guy was for real. . . Falwell? Really?”

  81. Tex it’s as though you stopped reading before the end of my comment. I said distinction of definition. I said there was no moral distinction between the two.

I also said (or tried to say) that when we twist specific definitions to prove our point all we really do is distract from the moral argument. You don’t have to insist that a fetus is an infant to postulate that it is immoral to kill a fetus.

  82. You don’t have to insist that a fetus is an infant to postulate that it is immoral to kill a fetus.

    Dear Rutherford,

You know damn well as you play this game well, the battle of semantics is always the path of least resistance by your party and its Orwellian doublespeak.

And you also know damn well the word fetus is used to “soften” the act of murder in the womb, as apparently most people too ignorant to understand the etymology of the word “fetus.”

  83. I think Siri asked whether “third Rutherford guy was for real. . . Falwell? Really?”

Funny you mention it. Siri always says to me, “oh no, not another comment to that horses ass”. I’ve tried to train her to tolerate you but it’s rough going. 🙂

  84. The funny thing about your logo Tex is that my kid was quite the My Little Pony fan when she was younger.

Nice. My daughters too were once long ago “Little Pony” fans. That should endear you even more to add it to your header. 🙂 Imagine there’s no heaven….

  85. Ok I guess I’m confused about this homeschool registry. I thought in the USA school was mandatory in grades 1-10 and therefore proof of attendance in some educational program, homeschool or not, was necessary. In other words, why isn’t there already a registry?

It should have nothing to do with chopping up children. It should have to do with proving the child is getting educated.

  86. I do love how you act all “put upon” by someone that doesn’t pander to the prog dogma ONLY when they’re not in your own fucking party.

The best part is that the executive branch is the least influential of the three when it comes to your newly-found gay agenda.

R, serious question. Don’t your ever feel manipulated by your party? You should. Political Issues that were non-issues just a short time ago suddenly define your party and vilify their opponents, e.g. war on women, war on blacks, war on immigrants, war on. . . whatever.

Tex and others here aren’t aligned with my position on gay union (which was ironically close to what Obama “said” his was before political convenience took over) but I understand his position and don’t fault him for having it. You would (and did) too if it came from someone that wasn’t Christian or conservative. You might not like it, but you are a classic bigot.

  87. R, did you go to a diverse school as a kid? That Buzzfeed story doesn;t describe anything much different from what I saw from the blacks in my school growing up. And frankly, it’s not too different from what I see of the brothers in the hood as an adult.

  88. Oh, in fairness, not much different from what I saw of a lot of white kids too.

You really go to Buzzfeed for your stories?

  89. You’re starting to sound Broneyphobic, Rutherford. Being aroused by plush ponies from a children’s cartoon is genetic and not a choice you know.

If asked, I think you should be legally required to provide services (whatever those might be ) at Broneycon and any Clopping ceremonies.

  90. “Muffy hate to let you in on this but you’re in no position to judge my sincerity.”

Well, you’re right about that. It’s not my place to judge your sincerity. Nor yours to condemn as “unforgivable” Falwell’s transgressions. I doubt that stops either of us from doing so anyway. To my mind you’re the consummate follower with this issue of gay marriage that suddenly shapes your actions at the voting booth. That’s very convenient.

As for your Bidenesque aversion to judging when killing a fetus is not OK for anyone to do in a civilized society, the question doesn’t go away simply because you refuse to answer it in anything resembling a straightforward manner.

  91. “The reason I can overlook Obama’s evolution on gay marriage is that opposition to it was never part of his plank.”

The video I posted removes all doubt that indeed, it was.

  92. As for your Bidenesque aversion to judging when killing a fetus is not OK for anyone to do in a civilized society, the question doesn’t go away simply because you refuse to answer it in anything resembling a straightforward manner.

Mmmm I thought I was straightforward. Tigre asked me the difference between infanticide and late term abortion. I said there was no moral difference — i.e. it is wrong to do. What more were you looking for?

Maybe I missed it but are you at all concerned about the ramifications that making abortions illegal might have on women who resort to black market abortions?

  93. “Despite Muffy’s skepticism, I have evolved to this point: my only objection at this point is do we want women who will get an abortion anyway to go black market and possibly die? I don’t think anyone here has an easy answer for that.”

Of course we do, and have given it many times.

It’s her choice. It doesn’t get any easier than that.

Catch up with advances in science, Rutherford, and learn to compromise while you’re at it. Eradicating millions of your euphemism-of-choice that look and function a lot like little tiny human beings waiting to be born is so yesterday.

  94. The video I posted removes all doubt that indeed, it was.

Your video proves nothing of the kind. First, you don’t know what plank means. Second you don’t see the distinction that made me give Marco Rubio (and Obama) a pass.

To my knowledge the Democratic plank (what they stand for as documented) does not include explicit opposition to gay marriage. Correct me if I am wrong.

Second, what distinguishes Obama (and Rubio) from Huckabee and Santorum is that they answer the question when asked. Obama didn’t strut around opposing gay marriage. He was asked a question and he answered it. You’re so eager to argue with me that you really don’t read what I write or make any effort to understand it.

Again, from what I’ve seen, Santorum seems to be moderating because his focus on social issues in 2012 didn’t win him the nomination.

Furthermore, if we are going to talk about sincerity, I suspect Obama lies on several different fronts on this issue. First, he’s no Christian. I’d bet dollars to donuts he is an atheist. Second, his change of heart on gay marriage occurred way too close to election time for me to believe it was a sincere change. It was a pander to get the gay vote.

That being said, his earlier opposition to gay marriage (or rather his earlier definition of marriage) was not something he promoted front and center. Unlike Santorum in 2012 and Huckabee today.

  95. Why did Rubio or Cruz or anyone else turn into Huckabee? What’s the obsession with Huckabee? Is it supposed to be some guilt by association thing or did you just realize you were caught being full of shit?

  96. You’re so eager to argue with me that you really don’t read what I write or make any effort to understand it.

    I understand.

Was Barack Obama anti-gay in 2008?

  97. “First, you don’t know what plank means.”

When you wrote that opposition to gay marriage was never part of his plank, indeed I assumed you were referring to his opinions about individual topics.

“Plank” is the term often given to the components of the political platform – the opinions and viewpoints about individual topics, as held by a party, person, or organization. -wikipedia

  98. “What more were you looking for?”

A connection between “personal” stand on abortion as morally wrong and your political leanings. It’s all about feelings with you. That’s why you can’t understand opposition to gay marriage. You assume it’s all about feelings.

You’ve stated before that you’re anti death penalty because “what if they get it wrong?”

So, fine, what if they get it right? Is it OK then?

And when you say “No, it is not OK” are you not referring to the application of the death penalty as opposed to your personal feelings about it?

  99. How could it not be part of his “plank” when Axelrod described his shifting on the issue for political gain?

    http://time.com/3704760/barack-obama-gay-marriage-david-axelrod/

Obama’s plank was “anti-gay” using Rutherford’s definition and Obama asserted that position in his campaign. It was his fucking position on a social issue, a/k/a his “plank.”

Rutherford it was either an important issue to you or it is not. “Anti-gay” ain’t cool but only “now?” Cut the crap you weasel. Obama held it out there, particularly to assuage the “anti-gay” black community.

  100. “Anti-gay” ain’t cool but only “now?”

He’s reprogrammed like Winston. Doubt he even remembers Obama’s stance.

The fantasy politics league is all about the latest….

  101. “Or maybe he should’ve just STFU, right”

I love when libs get faux brown shirt tough.

It would be so much fun to oblige them.

Usually they use proxies in the form of lemurs burning their own hood down.

Every now and then they pretend like they got the sand to shut half this country up with unconstitutional force. Makes me salivate over how fun it be to stomp them.

College campuses are one place they physically bully.

“Shit ins” demanding women be forced to take dumps in front of men. Gender nuetral, they call it.

Or physically blocking white kids from going to class to make some point about….who fucking cares.

Oh man….I want the the show to come to a theater near me, one day.

  102. Doubt he even remembers Obama’s stance.

See this shows the stupidity rampant on this blog. He had no fucking STANCE. He answered when asked. He did not march around in opposition to gay marriage.

ANYONE here who says Obama expressed his attitude toward gay marriage in the same manner as Mike Huckabee is either an idiot or a willful liar.

And to answer Muffy’s question, posed several times, YES Obama was anti-gay. Suggesting we should deny any minority the liberties enjoyed by the majority is “anti” that minority.

  103. And another thing … You guys do the very thing you accuse me of. You’ve focused on ONE sentence that I used to characterize social conservatives and you’re beating it to death. And you all know what a social conservative is in the first place, so asking me to define it was just baiting me. I shouldn’t have fallen for it.

  104. Well this thread got gay pretty damn quick. 😆 You guys sure know how to touch on those high notes. ahem… Bo bo is a politician and will say what he thinks people want to hear at the time. Of course now someone else writes his words, but from his own instinct he will pander.

  105. Of course now someone else writes his words, but from his own instinct he will pander.

Correctamundo – Obama’s two cornerstones: malignant narcissism accompanied by transparent expediency – the consummate lame politician. But like I have said before – Obama is not the problem. It’s the millions of dupes, a few here, who continue to put these pandering ignoramuses in office.

    Obama is evil…

  106. Change….

Newly unsealed court documents obtained by Fox News show a State Department contractor allegedly was paid thousands by an individual thought to be a Chinese agent in exchange for information on Americans — but despite an FBI probe, the Justice Department declined to prosecute.

A November 2014 FBI affidavit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, shows the bureau investigated the contractor for her admitted contact with individuals she believed to be Chinese intelligence officers.

The affidavit from agent Timothy S. Pappa states the translator, Xiaoming Gao, was paid “thousands of dollars to provide information on U.S. persons and a U.S. government employee.”

  107. Is he really this naive and uninformed? We know he reads ~40% of his PDBs, so I suppose it is possible, but this means he’s either incredibly ignorant or monstrous liar. Either isn’t really heart warming…

  108. Ia Sen Chuck Grassley is asking Eric Holder why the VA is classifying so many veterans as “mentally defective” and taking so many of their gun rights. These are the same type of people who gave us such a wonderful welcome back to the US and who told me they didn’t want my kind in grad school.

As Tex wrote. The are evil and the closest thing we will ever see to the Anti-Christ. Sharing the same country with those people is an embarrassment. I think these dumb statements are designed to fool simpletons into thinking we are better off.

  109. It’s funny G, I saw Obama say that last night and I thought “wow is that in need of a fact-check”. Actually I don’t know what your gripe is up to the 42 second mark. That all seems reasonable. Hell, he even calls out radical Islam which is rare for him. It’s just that last sentence about things being more peaceful than 40 years ago that makes me scratch my head.

  110. James — maybe the dude who shot and killed “American Sniper” on a gun range is good reason for the VA to be carefully evaluating whether folks with PTSD should have guns? I know you’re a big 2nd Amendment fan but sorry — not everybody should have a gun.

And can we please knock off the “evil” talk? That is total nonsense and you know it. We have a country of warring ideologies. The assumption in a democracy is that folks will vote in their own best interest. When folks wake up to the failures of liberal policies, they will vote for a change. If they are too dumb to do that, then they deserve what they get.

  111. Apparently you don’t, bigot.

Since you need to be spoon-fed:

“Social conservatism in the United States is a right-wing political ideology that advocates against social progressivism, centred on the preservation of traditional beliefs. The accepted aims of the movement often vary amongst the various organisations it comprises, making it hard to generalise about the ideological preferences of its professed adherents. There are, however, a number of general principles to which at least a majority of social conservatives adhere, such as opposition to abortion, LGBT rights, and the acceptance of Islam in the United States.

Social conservatives describe their views regarding socio-political issues as ‘traditional’ or ‘family’ values. Social conservatives typically oppose same-sex marriage, and oppose abortion.

The Republican Party (United States) is the largest political party with socially conservative ideals incorporated into its platform.

Social conservatives are strongest in the South, where they are a mainstream political force with aspirations to translate those ideals using the party platform nationally. In recent years, the supporters of social conservatism played a major role in the political coalitions of Ronald Reagan, and George W. Bush.[23]” – From Wiki

I nailed two out of three, asshole — LGBT rights and abortion. And if you were a true social conservative, we could Google your name and it would be in the Urban Dictionary as “That frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.” 👿

  112. “The assumption in a democracy is that folks will vote in their own best interest.”

That only occurs when truthful, complete and accurate information is provided for the electorate to evaluate. It is indeed “evil” to conceal and lie to further political ends when you are the president — or Secretary of State — not hyperbole.

  113. Rutherford. In over 60 countries, there is currently the systematic mass murder of Christians. A dozen of them were thrown off a barge the other day and drown in the Mediterranean for the sole reason they were praying a Christian prayer.

Neither the secularist Italian Pres/Prime Minister or the “christian” Obama ever bothered to mention why they were thrown off the boat.

I know you’re at best apathetic about Christians being killed wholesale across this globe, and probably orgasmic about it since you’re still hiding in the closet from fear of this “Christian theocracy” you always speak.

But that my old friend, is evil. It’s another form of hatred – indifference.

  114. MSNBC’s Touré Has the Taxman on His Case

That makes FOUR MSNBC share the wealthers now deliquent in shelling their federal taxes: Touré, Sharpton, Joy Ann-Reid, and Melissa Harris-Perry.

Did I mention all four of these share the wealthers are BLACK? 😈 Fucking hypocrites and thieves…

    YOUR people, “R”. LOL

  115. Sorry, you haven’t proved anything with you quote.

Let’s walk you through it poopy-head.

You said you hate Rubio because he’s “anti-gay.”

After being cornered on your dumb conclusory accusation, you then said “anti-gay” = against gay marriage (total bullshit by the way).

I and other point out the obvious: Obama was “anti-gay” — and you voted her him with embarrassing enthusiasm.

You then say, “I give Obama a pass because. . . well duh. It’s just different because I pick and choose.”

Then, “look, a squirrel! Huckabee and Farwell. They’re religiously and everything. So when they say their against gay marriage it’s offensive to me. Obama never really meant it even though it doesn’t matter to me because he’s. . .Obama.”

And Wikipedia helps you because it validates a point that wasn’t made — well, other than you will be voting for Hillary because Republicans are “anti-gay.”

    Again, you need a core.

  116. “See this shows the stupidity rampant on this blog.

Suggesting we should deny any minority the liberties enjoyed by the majority is “anti” that minority.” -Rutherford , April 21, 2015 at 10:21 pm

Definitely agree with you on the stupidity display, just disagree about where the stupidity is coming from. In this case it’s all you.

Having run out of answers and questions for answers, red herrings and the like – you’ve resorted to redefining words. Planks and whatnot. Evidently “stance” is not a position unless it’s accompanied by marching. In fairness to all, free passes are available to those who offer their position-that-is-not-a-stance strictly in response to a direct question. Or something.

    Words to live by.

“And another thing … You guys do the very thing you accuse me of. You’ve focused on ONE sentence that I used to characterize social conservatives and you’re beating it to death. And you all know what a social conservative is in the first place, so asking me to define it was just baiting me. I shouldn’t have fallen for it.”

You gave us two options (gay marriage and abortion-kind-of) and we tried to engage you on both. When you ran out of jive, you cried foul and went lights out on this little late night rap session.

  117. YOUR people, “R”. LOL

I think it more a soul condition. Those at the ‘top’ seem to have less of what some folks call scruples. That’s just a nice way of saying they are evil. We in the west don’t like calling things as they are for fear of offending or reprisal.

It is no coincidence that evil is the inversion of live. It is no coincidence that negro sounds the same as necro witch which means death. Language, the great MANipulator™ 😉

  118. “I nailed two out of three, asshole — LGBT rights and abortion.”

Yea, you nailed em. On the issue of gay marriage you proved that Obama was an anti-gay half social conservative until he falsely declared a politically expedient conversion which you found so compelling you followed his lead.

And you claim to be a changed man when it comes to the other one you “nailed.”

To quote Hillary, “mmm hmmm. mmm hmm.”

  119. I would not be opposed to John McCain and Lindsay Graham running away and getting married. I’d even volunteer to bake the cake.

  120. Tex of the four tax cheats you mention, I have only ever spoken kindly of one – Melissa Harris-Perry. I have said on more than one occasion that I have no use for Toure or Sharpton and I’ve had a Twitter war with Joy-Ann Reid. In fact, though I haven’t verified your claim about Reid yet, just reading that she’s being targeted by the IRS gives me a Matthews tingle. 🙂

  121. You said you hate Rubio because he’s “anti-gay.”

Don’t recall using the word “hate”. Do go on.

It has been well established you have trouble following conversations but considering it’s usually at least 3 on 1, perhaps that is understandable.

Huckabee was never a squirrel. He was mentioned in my FIRST evaluation of the candidates.

As for “Obama never really meant it”, doesn’t matter if he meant it or not. Let me repeat my earlier comment just in case you missed it:
ANYONE who says Obama expressed his opposition to gay marriage with the same fervor, or in the same manner as Huckabee is either an idiot or a liar. There is a difference between giving a pandering answer to a popular preacher (and then changing your pander when you need gay votes) and having a Fox show with your fucking name on it where you expound on your opposition to gay marriage and abortion.

If you think the two instances are the same then the folks who trained you in law school should be summarily fired and you should get your money back.

The wiki quote was an answer to the accusation (from either you or Rabbit — again when it’s 3 on 1, it’s hard to keep track) that I didn’t know what a social conservative was.

  122. Can anyone tell me why American trade negotians are secret?

    Wtf?

I’m probably sounding like Elizabeth Warren….but damn.

Even Congress isn’t allowed in on the party.

  123. On the issue of gay marriage you proved that Obama was an anti-gay half social conservative until he falsely declared a politically expedient conversion which you found so compelling you followed his lead.

And you claim to be a changed man when it comes to the other one you “nailed.”

To quote Hillary, “mmm hmmm. mmm hmm.”

Once again Muffy, you’re unintelligible. I followed his lead how? As for “the other one” you won’t be satisfied until I say “throw the doctors AND the mothers in jail”. But then again, since it would be me saying it, you still wouldn’t be satisfied. You (and Rabbit for that matter) do a lot of whining about abortion but I’m never clear on what exactly you want to do about it. Throw the doctors in jail and celebrate the death of women who go black-market. Is that a good summary of your position?

As for the mmm hmmm mmm – wow was that the dumbest video I’ve ever seen. With a woman so full of skeletons in her closet (and some skeletons readily on display) the best you juveniles can do is make fun of her mannerisms during a staged meeting with “regular people”. It’s no wonder you’re going to lose the election in 2016. You have the political acumen of a five year old.

  124. I would not be opposed to John McCain and Lindsay Graham running away and getting married. I’d even volunteer to bake the cake.

Oh DO elaborate. We all know you voted for McCain in 2008 so what has changed since then? And Lindsey reads right from your prayer-book. Or are you suddenly going soft on Islam? 😆

  125. “Rabbit, according to Obama there have been numerous briefings on the trade negotiations. Another lie?”

That is a lie of epic proportions

  126. “It has been well established you have trouble following conversations but considering it’s usually at least 3 on 1, perhaps that is understandable.”

And Rutherford runs out of gas going in circles again.

    Oh, just for nostalgia:

“Rubio championed immigration reform until he got pushback from conservatives and then he backpedaled. Plus, he’s a social conservative and I am not.” -Rutherford

“very broadly, I define social conservative as someone who doesn’t want to stay out of my bedroom and out of my personal business. Right now, that includes any candidate who comes up anti-gay.” -Rutherford

“Tigre and Muffy, yes I suppose I would say anti-gay marriage although I view that as really just shorthand for being anti-gay.” -Rutherford

“How do you square that with your anti-gay Obama and Clintons that didn’t create any problems for you when you pulled the levers?” -Tigre

“The reason I can overlook Obama’s evolution on gay marriage is that opposition to it was never part of his plank. . . I should give Marco a pass cos he doesn’t strut around condemning gay marriage.” -Rutherford

“Call me a religious bigot all you want. It is unforgivable that Jerry Falwell blamed 9/11 on homosexuals, unforgivable.” -Rutherford

Beautifully imbecilic. One of your better works.

  127. I have said on more than one occasion that I have no use for Toure or Sharpton and I’ve had a Twitter war with Joy-Ann Reid.

Melissa Harris-Perry, holder of the now infamous tampon earrings? 😈 You think fondly of that ignoramus now? LOL Now I’m willing to let you off the hook on $harpton. We all agree he’s a maggot. And your ongoing Twitter war with Reid is noted. Good taste.

But that’s not the way you used to feel about Toure. There was a time you were quit smitten with him, even saying you wouldn’t mind patterning yourself after this grotesque act. You were defending the dork when I was making sport of him.

For a fee, I’d go looking. But I’m too lazy otherwise.

  128. Muffy, I would ask Rutherford himself but I would prefer an honest answer.

Is there a difference between being “gay” and being “really gay?”

If so, does it have something to do with a “plank?”

  129. “You (and Rabbit for that matter) do a lot of whining about abortion but I’m never clear on what exactly you want to do about it.”

I personally would adopt 2 children to get abortion law to move to a heart beat instead of the current Roe vs Wade three months.

  130. “It’s no wonder you’re going to lose the election in 2016. You have the political acumen of a five year old.”

We’re not running. We’re laughing at YOUR candidate.

Maybe we need to dust off a few of those Palin chestnuts to even things up.

  131. Oooh. . .ooooh. . . maybe Fiore can make one of the Hi-Larious cartoons of Hillary with the slack-jawed yokel dub so you’ll get the humor. Those are priceless. I’m still ROTFLMAO. . . LOL. . . cough. . . weeze. . . sigh. . .

  132. Wow, Tigre just went to a lot of trouble demonstrating that he either can’t read or he can’t follow the flow of conversation.

Your string of Rutherford quotes only proved how consistent my argument was PLUS you demonstrated why Jerry Falwell was not a squirrel either. I brought him up in response to being called a religious bigot.

LOL That’s another of Tigres tricks btw. He asks a question or makes an accusation and then later conveniently leaves out his question or accusation and presents my response as an unprovoked non-sequitur.

  133. For a fee, I’d go looking. But I’m too lazy otherwise.

I wish I could pay you because you pulled the Toure thing out of your ass. You may be blowing up some light praise I may have given him on one point. I may have defended him against one of your typical outrageous slanders but I’m no Toure cheerleader.

  134. Rutherford? Did you ever see the movie Sling Blade? Really good movie, by the way. It’s criminal if Billy Bob Thorton didn’t win the best actor (don’t think he did, either). I need to know so I can ask you a question…

  135. I wish I could pay you because you pulled the Toure thing out of your ass.

LOL. No, I did not. It was a lot more than “light praise.” It was a kinship, an infatuation, a dream to be Toure. You could see yourself as Toure. 🙂

Now you’ve done pissed me off calling me a liar. I need Muffy to find it for me so we can laugh at your dementia.

  136. I didn’t remember all the character’s names so I had to youtube Doyle. Naah Tex I don’t think you’re Doyle. For starters you’re too well educated. But I’m pretty sure lots of folks here think of me as Carl.

Some call it a kaiser blade but I call it a sling blade — [grunt]

  137. Rabbit, I’m pretty sure the new trade deal has a 60 day review period before signature. I don’t know what authority Congress has over it — the review period may just be a formality.

But it is fun seeing you in the middle of the Warren-Obama debate. 🙂

  138. “I brought him up in response to being called a religious bigot.”

Yes. Your response was to confirm it. 😆 That was my point.

  139. Rutherford,

They have to fast track it. Congress is not allowed to amend anything. Why is that?

And how about a very in depth debate about these new courts where national sovereignty seems to be down graded.

I don’t like this one bit.

Paul Ryan is now fighting to give the excustive more power? Someone explain this to me.

And….what about jobs? Do we really have to get rid of every traditional manufacturing job in order to repeatedly buy cheap Chink shit?

I’m asking questions here. I really don’t have the answers nor the understanding.

    Unfortunately, pretty much nobody does.

You got to read it after they pass it.

  140. Outside of national security, anytime fucking Wikileaks is the go to for information, we have a problem.

I read somewhere any Congressman that reads the stuff has to do so without any aides and then sign the hard copy. What the hell?

I like how top secret is now trade negotians.

    Bull shit.

So who is doing the “negotiating”?

Its not like Obama is. Who? And who are they negotiating for?

  141. Nah, Rutherford. I don’t look at you as Carl. I look at you as part the Tastee Freez guy taking Carl’s order and part Scooter forgetting to put gas in the mower. Both hapless and shiftless. 😆

  142. Falwell ain’t even running for office you moron.

Oh I’m sure he’s lobbying to be head of the Gay-basher’s committee up in heaven. You can count on it.

Let me help you again with your inference skills. I didn’t bring up Falwell to suggest he was doing anything right now. I was bringing him up as a typical example of far right anti-gay zealotry — an example which belies your accusation of my bigotry. Falwell, and those like him, give me all the ammo I need to apply labels to the religious right. They’ve earned my labels. I’m no bigot.

  143. And….what about jobs? Do we really have to get rid of every traditional manufacturing job in order to repeatedly buy cheap Chink shit?

On this one, you’ve got me hook line and sinker. Last night Obama told Chris Matthews that we can no longer compete with cheap manufacturing labor in the United States. “That ship has sailed”, he said. So supposedly we are supposed to invest in higher skills (and higher pay) jobs here.

That leaves a lot of people out in the cold.

I’m not gonna debate you on the merits. Honestly, I have trouble understanding the entire notion of “trade deals”. In my mind everyone buys the best they can for the least they can pay globally. I don’t get the notion of rules to make countries play fair. Capitalism is not fair.

If you understand this better than I, I’m all ears for an explanation.

  144. Last night Obama told Chris Matthews that we can no longer compete with cheap manufacturing labor in the United States. “That ship has sailed”, he said. So supposedly we are supposed to invest in higher skills (and higher pay) jobs here.

You mean like the proposed Keystone Pipeline jobs? Those kinds of higher paying jobs? Obama is a turd.

  145. “Falwell, and those like him, give me all the ammo I need to apply labels to the religious right. They’ve earned my labels. I’m no bigot.”

    LOL.

“I’m no bigot. Those niggers earned my labels.”

    You’re fucking priceless.

  146. <iTex the MSNBC video didn’t actually prove anything.

WTH? I think it demonstrated in their own words what world class hypocrites they were when all of them were asking Americans to pay up. ‘cept them, I guess.

  147. Oh
    My
    God

This from Thomas Sowell in the National Review:

“Anyone familiar with World War II battles in the Pacific knows that it was not unusual for 90 percent of the Japanese troops defending Iwo Jima or other islands to fight to the death, even after it was clear that American troops had them beaten. When people like that surrender after two nuclear bombs, do not imagine that today’s soft Americans — led by the likes of Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton — will fight on after New York and Chicago have been reduced to radioactive ashes.”

    http://www.nationalreview.com/article/415855/hillarys-record-free-accomplishments-full-setbacks-thomas-sowell

I don’t like HRC but if she is elected we will succumb to a nuclear attack? REALLY?

  148. “I followed his lead how?”

If Obama was anti-gay in 2008, why did you vote for him then? You wouldn’t consider voting for one of the “anti-gay” candidates now.

“As for “the other one” you won’t be satisfied until I say “throw the doctors AND the mothers in jail”. But then again, since it would be me saying it, you still wouldn’t be satisfied. You (and Rabbit for that matter) do a lot of whining about abortion but I’m never clear on what exactly you want to do about it. Throw the doctors in jail and celebrate the death of women who go black-market. Is that a good summary of your position?”

Celebrate the death of women who go black market? Watching you try and be a principled guy is just getting awkward.

Every one of your bullshit questions and false accusations have been answered time and again. That doesn’t stop you from throwing lies and strawmen around with your tantrums, but it does result in you making argument look like hammering nails with a water balloon.

“As for the mmm hmmm mmm – wow was that the dumbest video I’ve ever seen. With a woman so full of skeletons in her closet (and some skeletons readily on display) the best you juveniles can do is make fun of her mannerisms during a staged meeting with “regular people”. It’s no wonder you’re going to lose the election in 2016. You have the political acumen of a five year old.”

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m making fun of the fact that the Democratic nominee for president is so afraid of saying the wrong thing – like the truth or something just as ghastly – that she can hardly be trusted to say anything at all. So it’s mmm hmmm mmm hmm.

You like to yuk it up about the candidates from the opposition but yours is dead and stuffed like some taxidermy horse.

“I want to be that champion. Neigh, snort and whinny.”

    She’s starting to rot, yo.

  149. I think it demonstrated in their own words what world class hypocrites they were when all of them were asking Americans to pay up. ‘cept them, I guess.

The video alone provided no context. Like I said, not even a slide showing what they owed in back taxes. Without the NR article I posted, the video alone proves nothing but them being guilty of bombast.

  150. LOL James no need for me to read Betsy’s Page. I spent an hour reading National Review and got a full dose of Hillary dirt.

    It’s gonna be a wild 18 months!

  151. “Oh DO elaborate. We all know you voted for McCain in 2008 so what has changed since then? And Lindsey reads right from your prayer-book. Or are you suddenly going soft on Islam?”

Um…I thought it was a funny way of telling them to get lost. Plus I think that Graham dude looks like a lady.

    You’ve completely unraveled.

  152. “I want to be that champion. Neigh, snort and whinny.”
    She’s starting to rot, yo.

Preaching to the choir on that one. You must have read some blogger who said “champion” was poll tested bullshit.

  153. If Obama was anti-gay in 2008, why did you vote for him then? You wouldn’t consider voting for one of the “anti-gay” candidates now.

I don’t know what’s so difficult about this. How one feels about gay marriage and how one expresses that feeling are two different things.

Obama did not throw his anti-gay beliefs in our face. The religious right does. It is their cause célèbre.

This is exactly why I moderated my comments about Rubio. Rubio is no Huckabee or Santorum.

  154. Plus I think that Graham dude looks like a lady.

LOL If I didn’t know better I’d think you’d seen Jon Stewart’s impersonation of Lindsey.

As for the rest of your comment, you dodged my question. Why would you want them to “get lost” when one got your vote in 2008 and the other shares your world outlook?

  155. Rabbit this from Politico:

The Senate Finance Committee has voted to give President Barack Obama “fast track” trade promotion authority, setting the stage for a vote on the Senate floor and moving the administration another step toward being able to close the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact in coming months.

Finance committee is chaired by a republican. Clearly this thing isn’t partisan.

I need to read more on this to see exactly what the issues are. I don’t even know the pros and cons of NAFTA.

  156. I’ve been trying to educate you on the TPP and TTIP for well over a year. You’re damn right it’s secretive. It will give international corporations power over state and local government and provide the ability for them to guarantee profit or sue at taxpayer expense. Get with it. It’s what ALL imposed force is about nowadays. Business. General Smedley Butler. <a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZINu-IC7eVw> The haves and have nots.

  157. A freshly-leaked chapter from the highly secretive Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) agreement, currently under negotiation between the United States and European Union, reveals that the so-called “free trade” deal poses an even greater threat to environmental and human rights protections—and democracy itself—than previously known, civil society organizations warn.

    http://www.commondreams.org/news/2015/04/20/newly-leaked-ttip-draft-reveals-far-reaching-assault-useu-democracy

  158. The video alone provided no context. Like I said, not even a slide showing what they owed in back taxes. Without the NR article I posted, the video alone proves nothing but them being guilty of bombast.

🙄 Like I said. I generally find you pretty stupid anymore, unable to even connect the dots after the lines drawn for you to trace. Go back to Frosty Creme…

  159. Tex your fatal flaw is a stubborn refusal to concede an obvious point.

Please play your video back and watch it WITHOUT knowing the content of the NR article and then tell me what in the video (besides the title of the video) actually proves anything.

I know you read the NR article beforehand because your big bold pronouncement in an earlier comment was word for word the headline of the NR article.

It’s no biggie dude. Yes, knowing they owe back taxes makes the video very damning (in fact shameful) but without that knowledge the video itself doesn’t even make a claim. I had to read the title of the video to connect the dots.

    Come on!

  160. Rutherford, the video shows blatant hypocrisy of the highest order. You are spoon fed by a bunch of frauds.

    It’s fun watching you squirm.

  161. Rutherford, I have not had time to read anything after your response to Chuck Grassely’s charge. Maybe someone else has addressed the charge.

Senator Grassley has a reputation for relative honesty and right of center moderation. Obama and the Attorney General are proven bigots, liars, and progressives as a whole don’t especially like the military. These are proven facts you have not been able to refute, though you have not tried very hard.

Its true that some people, including veterans shouldn’t be carrying weapons around. However, this administration as per Grassely’s charge are singling out veterans for special treatment. This also fits a pattern of behavior which has been documented.

Until someone proves otherwise, I am convinced the administration is behaving true to form.

  162. Here’s the NR article that I suspect you meant to link to…

Why in the hell do I need to link to the article when I said this in CONTEXT, Dummy? Does it get any clearer than the title?

MSNBC’s Touré Has the Taxman on His Case

That makes FOUR MSNBC share the wealthers now deliquent in shelling their federal taxes: Touré, Sharpton, Joy Ann-Reid, and Melissa Harris-Perry.

Why don’t you in your STUBBORN REFUSAL, admit your entire ideology is full of dupes, dreamers, Skittle shitting unicorns, and universal hypocrites – and that all of those mentioned are POS?

  163. Again Rabbit … slowly this time. The video only shows blatant hypocrisy if you already know the subjects of the video are tax cheats.

    THE
    VIDEO
    DOES
    NOT
    SAY
    THAT

You think I’m defending the anchors. I’m not. They’re hypocrites. All I said was its a lousy video because it omits the primary point that puts their hypocritical comments in context.

  164. WTF is wrong with you people?

The same thing that is wrong with you. Better to ask what’s wrong with those people we put in positions of influence and power? The ones we tune in and quote? If they are proven criminals and liars, what does that make us by elevating them to these positions or by even listening while they lecture?

Admittedly, the tax video does nothing more than show the real hypocrisy where these individuals dwell daily. They are discussing the fairness of everyone paying their fair share of taxes, yet come to find out they are all delinquent. That’s the point, not that the video STATES that. It’s inferred by the context.

  165. It’s inferred by the context.

Pools, my good man, THAT is the problem.

Maybe my point is a nitpick. You look at the title of the video and then there is context. I didn’t look at the title before watching it. So I’m seeing them all expound on tax fairness and I’m waiting for the money shot – the crawl across the bottom of the screen or a slide or a narrator or a shot of a Fox reporter saying they’re tax cheats. And I got nothing…nil…bupkis…squat.

Maybe it’s too fine a point but all I ever said was the video taken on its own doesn’t make the point.

Now if you have a predisposition to believe these folks are liars, then you come to the video with the context already established.

  166. Just admit the video fails its purpose and move the fuck on.

Are you really this in denial? Good gawd – one bolded title calls Toure a tax cheat and then names his fellow MSNBC conspirators. A video then follows moments later demonstrating how pathetic, mendacious and hypocritical these tax cheats are in their own words. Can you not hold two thoughts or do you need the dollar amount detailed to decide whether they’re hypocrites?

I’ve you’ve been so hammered the last couple of years, you’ve lost your marbles. And you deserve it after all those lies you told leading up to the 2012 elections. Frankly, you were as despicable as Harry Reid in the last election.

Do you feel good about casting all those dispersions later proven untrue? You libeled a good man.

What has followed is a severely weakened country that the next President, whoever that is, is going to inherit. The damage may be irreparable and millions of lives may be lost on account of it. Hundreds of thousands have already been lost because of Obama’s dithering across Africa and the Middle East. Iran is so sure Obama won’t act on anything, they are sending their inferior war ships to meet our state-of-the-art warships because they realize there is absolutely no threat – Obama doesn’t even bluster well.

And then we find out last night Obama’s own Sec. of State was undermining the very sanctions Obama called “effective” for Clinton Cash. There is absolutely nothing honest about your ideology. Nothing. And I am beginning to wonder if there really is such a thing as an honest “progressive.”

  167. Ok Tex, two things … honestly I don’t know what is so hard about this. YOUR BOLD FACED COMMENT NAMING THE TAX CHEATS WAS

NOT PART OF THE DAMN VIDEO!

Of course I understood the video in the context that YOU provided. That context was NOT in the video itself. Again, why is this so damned hard?

Second I don’t recall EVER saying Mitt didn’t pay taxes. So why you are lumping me in with Harry Reid, I don’t understand.

  168. By the way, just like religion, an ideology must be separated from some of its practitioners. There is nothing ipso facto dishonest about progressivism. It shouldn’t be judged by the worst of its disciples (e.g. Clinton).

  169. Rutherford I’m on my phone so I won’t go into too much detail. Everything you’ve heard or read about TPP here is untrue. That said I don’t support it as it wholly falls short of very real US interests.

  170. By the way, just like religion, an ideology must be separated from some of its practitioners.

It IS a religion. The religious leaders are corrupt and that trickles down the entire assembly. Time to quit supporting them, for that’s what we do. We justify their existence, as they couldn’t exist separate from us. Time to expose their lies and evilness. Man your pitchfork!

  171. “Tex your fatal flaw is a stubborn refusal to concede an obvious point.”

    😆 😆 😆

    Pot meet kettle.

Welcome to it, Tex. Thanks for giving me a break.

  172. There is nothing ipso facto dishonest about progressivism. It shouldn’t be judged by the worst of its disciples (e.g. Clinton).

Poolman is right about one thing, Rutherford. This progressive political ideology of yours is your “religion.” It consumes you, it defines you, it holds your most sacredly held beliefs, and in it you find your purpose.

And I am not judging your religion’s dishonesty by it’s worse (e.g. Clinton). I’m judging it by its best (e.g. Rutherford Lawson and Barack Hussein Obama).

  173. “Pot meet kettle.”

You can tell Rutherford gets it and knows it’s the truth when he tries to call out his own behavior and pretend it’s us doing it. Now it’s Tex’s turn. 😆

  174. Its true we shouldn’t judge progressiveism by its bad actors, though some progressives didn’t follow that rule when the Tea Party became famous. Democrats didn’t follow the rule when some Repubican bad actors emerged before the last elections.

However, I am hard-pressed to find some good actors. Perhaps you can help me.

The latest thousands of deaths provided by the progressives are in the Middle East and coming to Europe. Europeans are considering sinking human trafficers’ ships from Libya etc. Anti immigrant organizations in Europe are getting stronger with more supporters after fleeing people murdered Christians. They provide future potential for violence and more people at risk.

Obama and progressives are largely at fault for this developing disaster, and they as bad players seem to represent the progressive movement today. They are knaves and scoundrels. They cannot be trusted.

  175. Alphie, are you a TPP wonk?

You don’t even have to educate me personally, just provide me some links.

I know I brought up chink goods…..and they aren’t part of the negotiations…

That was stupid. I’m sure I’m all kinds of stupid on this one. Is it my fault?

  176. “Petraeus gets 2 years probation and 100k fine for running his mouth to his girlfriend. Any thoughts?”

An enlisted shmuck would have got a dishonorable discharge.

I like Petraeus….a lot…and I’m certain he made enemies with this piece of shit administration… But…he fucked up.

  177. Rutherford, they didn’t pat there taxes and blab about how we all need to pay more taxes.

    That is the fucking context.

It would be like the a video of the Dali Lama beating the shit out of someone in a boozy pool hall. Would say that the video has no context? Why?

You really are a desperate man.

  178. Rabbit you’re almost there. If the video showed the four of them complaining about paying their taxes, then nothing else is needed because their public stance is already known and the context is already there just like your Dali Lama example.

But if I post a video of the Dali Lama being his usual self and then I say to you “look look he goes to boozy pool halls” you’d say “where the fuck in the video did you see THAT?”

  179. Rabbit I don’t support the TPP so my frustrations with the agenda/ rhetoric and conspiracy angles might come off as weird.
A couple of things. Look up Trade Promotion Authority. This is what gets nick named fast track. It isn’t a new thing and previous trade negotiations had the same secrecy vibe.
Also this link https://ustr.gov/about-us/policy-offices/press-office/fact-sheets/2015/march/investor-state-dispute-settlement-isds loads up points regards the sovereignty issue that one could look deeper into. Of course people will say “government source!?!” Well it has facts that can be independently cross checked.
As for China there are two major schools of thought . One is that secondary to China’s diverse trade links TPP could actually help them even though they’re not party to it. That one is a little confusing and I’m on an iPad so I can’t link fest you right now. The other China point is that TPP is seen as a national/regional security plank. China makes a number of its neighbours nervous and its new investment arm AIIB is something I’m interested in.

  180. Man, this Clinton Foundation “stuff” is getting more fallacious by the day. I know the Clinton Foundation a front group for money laundering to enrich the Clintons – that much is obvious. The fact these two despicable twits send their daughter out of cover may be even worse – even if Chelsea has become a chip off the old block.

But who is the charitable work for? Vladimir Putin? Uranium to Russia for speaking fees? Unbelievable.

I want to apologize for a previous comment I made some years back. I said the Obamas made the Clintons look like honest pikers, almost classy.

I was wrong. They all are turds.

  181. Ahhh Tex, as usual you go too far. The Clinton Foundation has done SOME good. With that said, there does appear to be a stink emanating from the relationship between the Foundation, the State department and Bill’s own personal gain.

This is not to excuse them but I’d venture to guess big foundations tossing lots of money around are prone to corruption of some sort or another.

I return to my original theme — I said she would not run because there is just too much shit waiting to be dug up. I did not believe her ego would override her common sense. I was very very very wrong.

  182. Alfie I skimmed your link and I believe the nation/corporation interactions are secondary to the average American to the major issue with TPP. Will American workers be screwed over by this deal or not? I don’t have an answer.

It’s worth noting that Warren opposed TPA (not TPP) — the fast track legislation. But what confuses me is that although TPA prevents Congress from amending the trade agreement (TPP), it does not prevent them from vetoing it. Warren seems to think TPA passing gives Obama carte blanche to push through whatever deal he wants. From what I have read, that is not true.

  183. The Clinton Foundation has done SOME good.

Isn’t that always the excuse? “Well, look at the good we’ve done.”

85% expenses, 15% charity, 80MM dollars in travel. Sorry, Rutherford. I don’t think I’ve gone nearly far enough. Why would relief money to Haiti need to even go through the Clinton Foundation, for instance?

And if this uranium sale through Russia is really even half truth, what good the Foundation has done would pale in comparison the potential damage it could have caused. Centrifuges aren’t much good without the base material now, are they?

  184. Patreaus did a stupid deed, and he deserves his punishment. He could have been a presidential nominee sometime in the future. He helped save Iraq, but like the Clinton foundation, the bad outweighs the good. In both cases, they gave something which could hurt our national interests.

  185. Of course, the general saved Iraq for Obama to throw away.

I’m still watching our grand child and my wife is gone on business. Thus, I am where Rutherford is on TPA or TPP, uninformed with unformed opinions.

  186. As I said, keep your eyes on the Clunton Foundation for answers to all wuestions surrounding the Clintons. I must be psychic. Maddoff was like the Salvation Army compared to this high level criminal enterprise.

The Clintons are filthy as fuck, always have been, and the left has never really given a shit. They don’t care. It’s fun watching the media deal with it only because it has to. Obama will run like hell from this.

  187. From one of mine in the USDC.

    Motion to Fuck This Court:

  188. Oh Poolman couldn’t I list everyone who you have known in your life who has died and then write a mmmm list?

I can see your list on me now: strict mother died in 2004 while Lawson was “out of town”. 10 years later, father died leaving Lawson money just months before Lawson was about to go broke. Mmmmm.

What that stupid list proves is that Clinton was involved with a lot of scummy people. Doesn’t prove he had anything to do with their deaths.

Now if you want to say all the scummy associations disqualify HRC you’ll get no argument from me.

  189. “The federal government currently taxes the people exponentially more than the British King could have ever dreamed of doing. And people’s human rights are being violated faster than you can say the phrase Willis B. Hunt, Jr. is a btchas hoe . I mean, I am not a retard that you are going to convince that these brilliant men intended for the federal government to wield power over the several states and their people as it presently does. This is not freedom, you jacka*s. This is slavery worse than the history of the world has ever seen.”

    😆 😆 😆

Kind of reminds me Tex’s appearance in the defense of his traffic ticket. Every word of it true but “you might not want to say that.”

  190. Scummy associations? Or flat out bribery profiting from America’s sworn enemies? I think that goes a little beyond “associations.”

Tex I was referring very specifically to Poolman’s suicide list.

  191. “Rutherford Lawson’ Progressive America of Hope & Change!!!!”

Yep. Tyranny requires the support of the weak-willed and unaware.

    Yes We Can!

  192. President transparent picked this scum bag to be Secretary of State….

Expediency is the only idealogy of progressive politics.

  193. President transparent picked this scum bag to be Secretary of State….

Not only hand picked her (keep your enemies closer, I guess), but signed off on these “bargains” with America’s sworn enemies too. Obama is culpable, as are the rest of Dear Leader’s hand picks.

These people are wicked and corrupt. Barack Caligula…

  194. So break from insane chatter for a moment: Tigre, is there no gate-keeper on court documents or briefs or notices or whatever that is that you posted? I’m just a little surprised something that profane made it into an official court document. I understand EVIDENCE gets submitted as is, but this notice — it doesn’t get scrubbed by anyone?

And yes it reads just like Tex Taylor. Written by a woman too, if I understood it correctly. I didn’t read the attached supporting document but I’m guessing her assertion is none of us have to pay Fed income tax?

Also did this take place in FL or GA? I saw references to two different states. Florida would make more sense — full of wack-jobs.

  195. Expediency is the only idealogy of progressive politics.

    More stupidity.

Expediency and POLITICS go together. It’s got nothing to do with progressive politics.

I’ve seriously considered shutting this thing down later this year for a variety of reasons but the one thing that makes me want to keep it going is the prospect of a Republican WH and Congress so I can see you drama queens explain the corruption that didn’t go away when the government changed parties.

  196. R, that Motion to Go Fuck Yourself is in the District Court for The North District of Georgia here in Atlanta. I know Judge Hunt. Although the Eleventh Circuit covers FL too,, (ct. of appeals is ATL), district courts have different territories throughout the circuit.

Believe it or not, I’ve seen plenty worse. There’s one a colleague was involved with in particular that still makes me laugh (gotta read through the progressively fucked up captions of what was filed):

    http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CB8QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fkevinunderhill.typepad.com%2FDocuments%2FOpinions%2FWashington_v_Alaimo.pdf&ei=qcA6VbfIEqXHsQThkoHgCw&usg=AFQjCNFTmgiR3PtQKHJ-VTM8YNYMt8OcQw&sig2=6daQYL2lDx-iRnvr2jNDQA&bvm=bv.91665533,d.cWc

There’s no automatic screening process because filings are generally matters of public record. In fact, electronic filing is required in federal district court so it immediately posts for the world to see. Unless the Judge seals the file or a particular pleading, it’s all there for your reading pleasure. You can see it was filed so it’s possible it’s been sealed or redacted since then.

As for insane chatter, the ‘motion uses “Lol” throughout – and I say, props for that. And it also appears to lie in the strange nexus of tea-party-tax-protester-world and black-activist-ghetto-lifer-world. If we could get the Tea Party and the black caucus to team up on limiting the power of the government, we might actually get somewhere.

There is also enough to show that the author did do some reading — and much of what was said I agree with. God Bless Americans.

  197. “Expediency and POLITICS go together. It’s got nothing to do with progressive politics.”

Hogwash, balderdash and poppycock. That comment has more merit than you’d like to believe or are willing to see.

  198. “I’ve seriously considered shutting this thing down later this year for a variety of reasons but the one thing that makes me want to keep it going is the prospect of a Republican WH and Congress so I can see you drama queens explain the corruption that didn’t go away when the government changed parties.”

No one here thinks there won’t be corruption. That’s what goes hand-in-hand with politics.

The question is whether like the left a blind eye will be turned or the corruption admitted yet condoned. I doubt you’ll see the party of nothingburgers and messianic praise with a Republican WH.

  199. Republicans tend to excise their criminals in part because they know a hostile press will excoriate them. Excessive liberal power and our culture’s weakened desire and ability to punish evil have created a powerful criminal elite unmatched by Republicans’ best efforts. A Republican administration will steal too, but not like this. I’ll bet you the imaginary pony you owe me for your previous votes.

  200. “Expediency and POLITICS go together. It’s got nothing to do with progressive politics.” R

Oh really? Then I’m sure Hilary won’t win the Democratic nomination.

    Ja ja ja ja ja!

  201. Rutherford, to make this simple, you’re a well intentioned shill for corruption because you’re blinded a hate-filled, twisted, failed ideology taught to you from the crib. And you’re not capable of admitting or perhaps blind to the fact of just how rotten your philosophy really is, aided by the fact you’re incapable of putting aside some historical grievance you use as a crutch more than your walker.

Haven’t trusted you as far as I can throw you since 2012, when it became more than evident you were a weasel and whore. Sorry, that’s just the way it is.

Though you’re braver than the Clintons and the Obamas, plus the occasional mindless hacks that drop in run because at least you’ll face off against your accusers, you’re still a full-fledged member of a party of corruption and malfeasance. You and millions like you have made a mockery of the laws of this country. Frankly, if you lend some semblance of support to this shit and you do, you’re no better than the sworn enemies of America.

And no, there is nobody in the Republican Party that comes remotely close to the level of corruption, greed, incompetence, and evil that Reid, Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, and the Black Caucus represent.

  202. And no, there is nobody in the Republican Party that comes remotely close to the level of corruption, greed, incompetence, and evil that Reid, Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, and the Black Caucus represent.

That’s a pretty broad statement there bud. In your heart of hearts you know it’s nonsense.

Oh and for the record, cane yes, mobility scooter yes, walker not just yet. 🙂

  203. nobody in the Republican Party that comes remotely close to the level of corruption, greed, incompetence, and evil

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha ahahh, ha, ha, ha. Funny, Tex. So, those Republicans practice a whole ‘nuther brand of politic. Got scruples. 😉
🙄 What a load of crap. They’ve ALL sold us out. Both sides. Hoes and warmongers all. 😀

    It’s just like Animal Farm.

  204. Poolman, you’re simply stupid and not worthy of serious debate. You’re a dumbass, and uneducated moron, loser, thief, and fool – you were, are, and always will be.

But I will challenge you or the incomparably corrupt Rutherford to name a current politician of the Republican party that comes remotely close to the corruption and influence of Holder, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, and most specifically Obama and Clinton.

And then I am going to demonstrate how utterly pathetic and mendacious both Rutherford and the American media really are when I lower the boom and compare Richard Nixon to Bill and Hillary Clinton. Rutherford can hide behind Pravda all he wants, but it won’t change the fact he’s a liar, a propagandist, and shill for evil.

  205. By the way, Rutherford. I wouldn’t blame you for shutting this dog down. It’s become virtual pablum. Dimwits like Poolman have soiled it and I apologize for drawing that flea over, evolving from his nearest relatives at Fat Grannies – Poolman is subhuman, a phony, vile, and a lowlife. Nothing short of a miracle would change that.

Thor is probably right about the Stockholm Syndrome. Just being honest. This used to be a forum for somewhat serious discussion. It hasn’t been that way for quite sometime.

Do yourself a favor and grab a life before you become like Poolman and hopeless. 😈

  206. name a current politician of the Republican party that comes remotely close to the corruption and influence of Holder, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, and most specifically Obama and Clinton.

McConnell, McCain, Chambliss, Young, Boehner, Renzi

  207. Tex help me with this one. I thought you said Biden was a buffoon. How can he be that AND influential and corrupt? Particularly the influential part. Few buffoons are influential.

  208. I think one of the interesting things about the Clinton candidacy is how the liberal media is NOT giving her a free pass. Granted, MoJo is the most conservative show on MSNBC due to its host but they have covered Clinton Cash for the past three days as has the NYT. I don’t need to tune into Fox or read The Blaze to get the scoop.

Even Bubbles, as you call her, cringes at the mere mention of HRC. I’ve never seen her so animated as when she has gone on the attack on James Carville, David Brock, or Howard Dean as they defend Hillary.

This is not your typical election. The usual habit of the media looking the other way, as you’ve pointed out, is not happening this time.

  209. Rutherford I don’t think it can be even jokingly hinted that the MSM is going after HRC with any zeal. I would also put forth that the media that is covering the Clintons issues are doing so in a minimal and intentional manner. they are not covering the sordid scandals to shine light upon them. they are covering them to a) tempt Warren to run b) to further vet the future first female POTUS and c) to put the public at ease with the headline so come november ’16 “what difference does it make now” is a statement of acceptance as opposed to scorn.

  210. I agree with Alfie. Moreover, the liberals are trying to innoculate themselves, Hillary, and the party from the poison. It is better to discuss it now so these scandals become old news by the election. It might work because as we know, most liberal and some other voters are self absorbed simpletons.

They can hope that if someone like Elizabeth Warren runs, the party will be less tarnished than it now is. The press can cover themselves from charges of pro-Hillary bias.

Someone helping clean the mess liberals left after Earth Day said it smelled like a sewer. I am judging those people by the same standard they use to judge the Tea Party and conservatives in general. Conservatives clean up after themselves.

Ted Cruz visited and ate with a gay couple active in an organization which raises money for AIDS victims. The organization and its supporters were so outraged by the get together, they canceled this year’s fund raiser.

I didn’t see Bruce Jenner’s announcement but I read about it on Twitchy. Gays and liberals enthusiastically supported him, until he revealed that he is a Republican. Then some turned on him.

? Perez mused that Republicans might not welcome Jenner’s news, but Republicans tweeted that they are tolerant of Jenner, and his being a Republican is fine with them.

One of Thad Cockeran’s aids is charged with possessing drugs. He has already been suspended. Rutherford mused about Republican reaction to future White House scandals. The aid’s experience is more like what would happen on a national scale. Remember Republicans were the ones who told Nixon he had to resign.

We are better than they are. I should be angry about some of these developments, but my reaction this morning is that I am better than they are. So are we all who visit here. We all can do our Superiority Dance, because we don’t smell like the sewer they do. Not even a hundred showers will wash away their stench.

My eye doctor told me “You are an over achiever.” I have had cataracts for 15 years, and though I lost 2% of the sight in my left eye to glaucoma the pressure in both eyes is normal as it has been for years.

My ocular nerve degeneration will lead to blindness though an arduous new surgical procedure may help me. However, the nerve condition has improved a bit. She doesn’t know why I can still see without glasses. Ordinarily, she would refer someone like me for surgery based on the evidence, but the surgeon would tell me to go home right now.

I was sick last week and saw double for a half hour while I was home alone. I had just had a regular checkup and everything tested normal, so I was pretty sure I wasn’t having a stroke. It was because I was sick, very tired, and working at the computer.

  211. Rutherford, Biden is a smart buffoon who borders on sexual harassment Some of the comments he has made are more honest than stupid.

  212. Alfie, I disagree with at least two thirds of your hypothesis.

    a) tempt Warren to run

I find this just plain cynical. Warren will run or not run based on ego, ambition, belief she can win and commitment to the cause. Media attacks on HRC do not explicitly stroke Warren’s ego. She knows it’s a tough job to beat Hillary and she may alienate female voters just by trying. I’m also not convinced she even wants to run. Clearly she says she doesn’t (but I agree that alone is meaningless).

    b) to further vet the future first female POTUS

This makes no sense to me. You don’t publicly run oppo research on a candidate you want to win. If the media were truly in bed with HRC they would not air her dirty laundry on the front page.

and c) to put the public at ease with the headline so come

Again I find this cynical but reading James interpretation of you helps me see where you’re coming from. As James puts it, an inoculation. I would suggest this is not the motive of the media, but it serves that purpose nonetheless. And this is why the HRC team may not be losing sleep over it. Better now than in October 2016.

  213. Rutherford you’re naive and in deep denial.
Warren is a coward who is at this very moment calculating the entire remainder of her time in public service. If she is even remotely sincere about her alleged ideals and the hope the People will rise she is paying attention to the waves being made by members of the media who in fact are begging her to run. They are making those waves to encourage her to run. She is a coward and needs the nudge!
On your counter to point two you really are naive or ignorant. If you a) think the media isn’t predominately allied with the Democrats we need to end the discussion since you’re unattached to reality. b) if you think nobody ever learned a lesson from the Dukakis in a tank/Willie Horton, Kerry Swiftboating episodes you’re just not paying attention. The Clintons recognize scrutiny is part of the game. they also recognize they can control the narrative and spin that escapes their total control. I whole heartedly believe the Hillary campaign is officially and intimately tied into the ongoing coverage by many. Her husband beat the “It was only my dick in her mouth” deal through the same mechanism.
IT IS EXACTLY THE MOTIVE OF MANY IN THE MEDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whether its me,James,Tex,ET,Huck or even Pools have you not gleaned a freaking thing from what we’ve shared over the years? I thought you had read a number of campaign orientated books like “Game Change” & other stories and caught a glimpse of some of the soil and sludge that is the media + politician relationship.

Quite simply and not to be a smug prick about it,but you really can’t acknowledge the HRC camp isn’t sweating this stuff and not believe the a,b,c’s of it.

  214. “..more honest than stupid.”
I love that line! I am the embodiment of that at work in a variation. I am bluntly honest thus upsetting the upper management types to the point that I’m stupid for bringing up the points that tug their nerves.

But james you are right. Often times peoples alleged missteps are actually their solid views coming to the surface. It explains why they honestly don’t understand others shock.

  215. Quite simply and not to be a smug prick about it,but you really can’t acknowledge the HRC camp isn’t sweating this stuff and not believe the a,b,c’s of it.

I stopped following at this point. Are you saying the Clinton’s are or are NOT sweating the rolling disclosure? If they are in bed with the media then they are lovin’ it like a McDonalds Happy Meal. And I do believe I concluded my previous comment by saying HRC would rather all this stuff come out now and not October 2016.

Warren is a coward for not running? She’s a coward for SAYING she’s not running?

Finally I’d jump on board the MSM skews lib meme but I think the HRC coverage this time belies that. If they discredit her too much they will end up with President Bush III. Hardly a way to succeed at your progressive agenda.

  216. Rutherford I just don’t understand you and I imagine you’re saying the same about me.
Warren is a coward because she also chose not to run for Senate but ended up doing so a politically expedient manner. She is a near 1%er who is a liar but still intelligent enough to read some tea leaves. IF she is ever to get anywhere it is 2016 just like for Obama it was 2008.
The Boston Globe is a great example of a media component that is actively engaged to get Warren to run and one that fits the description that has motives behind its actions.
The NYT and electronic media will largely support Clinton as seen by the free wheeling deflections offered in support of HRC scandals and Clinton Foundation scandals.
When I say the Clintons aren’t sweating stuff it isn’t because I think the entire MSM is in the tank for them. Its that I KNOW they know how to work the media and the powerbroker class. For fucks sake the Clinton Foundation is but a shill for the 3C’s to be rich and they do it by mutual masturbations for fat cats.
The hate for HRC has to be dished out in small portions for the MSM recognize the ass they’re trying to bite is scratched by the hand that will quite possibly (likely!?)be feeding them come 1/20/17

And one last thing if you think HRC is open to anything progressive you’re retarded.

  217. The NYT and electronic media will largely support Clinton as seen by the free wheeling deflections offered in support of HRC scandals and Clinton Foundation scandals.

But the deflections are offered by Team Clinton, not by the NYT. Clearly NYT has to print the deflections — it’s giving a “balanced” story. But the media could choose to ignore it altogether, Do you have any idea how many stories appear on Fox that NEVER get a single mention on MSNBC? Every news organization chooses what the news actually is.

The hate for HRC has to be dished out in small portions for the MSM recognize the ass they’re trying to bite is scratched by the hand that will quite possibly (likely!?) be feeding them come 1/20/17.

In theory, I agree completely which is why I am surprised that the portions right now are not small at all. Again, you don’t have to go to Fox or Breitbart to see and read this stuff. These “improprieties” are getting wide exposure. At MSNBC of all places Clinton surrogates are being attacked for smearing the author of “Clinton Cash” instead of answering the allegations. This ain’t small portions.

And one last thing if you think HRC is open to anything progressive you’re retarded.

Never said so. I think Clinton’s attempts to mimic Warren have been transparent and pathetic. It’s a question of how many folks will fall for it.

  218. The ideal that there is such thing as a noble progressive will become laughable when Clinton becomes president in 14.

You people stand for nothing and that will be proven in 2016 just as it was in 08.

At least in 08 we had a coward who voted present and a plan kslate outside nauseating speeches.

This time, there is no sugar on the poison.

  219. Holy crap. You guys see those feral lemurs rioting at the O game?

I have bad feeling about this summer.

  220. I’m a big and I mean BIG history buff and am always amazed by how history seems to replay either “naturally” or crafted.
That said I find Europes centennial gyrations very interesting. There is also something to be said about Russia and Japan and their official takes on WWII actions.
Domestically I’m wide open to coincidence but I couldn’t help be moved by stumbling across “Boyz N the Hood” last night on the telly. It brought back memories of a summer of EMS calls driven by gangs.

  221. I was fishing with a former embassy Marine who was stationed in Israel in 2001.

I forget how many suicide bombers were unleashed on Israel at that time.

They blew up his favorite hangout and blew up a building right across the street from him once.

He said there was massive celebrations by the Arabs after 911.

  222. As rabbit wrote, “there is no sugar to this poison.”

Yugoslavia was a collection of various ethnic populations and religions who carried centuries old grudges against each other. WW!! revived some of the anger. Tito took over and he tried to stop the potential break up by forcing everyone to identify as Yugoslav. Sarajevo was a polyglot of ethnicity and it fancied itself a cosmopolitan city. Life was pretty good for a country allied with the Soviets.

It fell apart after the Soviet Union collapsed and Tito was gone. We know about the war for Sarajevo and the dismemberment of Yugoslavia. What we hardly notice is a similar and slower evolution here. The United States is a collection of various cultures imported to North America. Some ethnic populations have a history of hostility and still don’t especially like each other, but we are united under a universal American culture and language.

Change is afoot. Ted Cruz met with a gay couple to discuss politics and the world. When word got out about the meeting, , an organization which which they were affiliated canceled an AIDS fund raiser because Cruz had polluted their effort. Bruce Jenner made his announcement and most liberals supported him until he said he is a Republican. Some liberals turned against him. Some actors bailed out of a movie about Ferguson when they learned that the movie would show “hands up, don’t shoot” was a lie.Hillary said that we need to change religious and cultural beliefs to make people support abortion. Blacks attacked whites in the Baltimore riot, The Daily Telegraph posted the story of how global climate warmists may have cooked the books.

I could go on. The signs of decay are becoming more noticeable. Most can be traced to the fascist government, news media and cultural leaders who are changing and dividing our country. Most would be horrified to think they were fascists, but they fit a dictionary definition.

I don’t expect the United States to fall apart like Yugoslavia, but the trends are similar. People (including Republicans you didn’t vote for) you voted for Rutherford have done much of the damage we see now. You are open minded and realistic to acknowledge it.

I want you to see this video Rutherford because your votes helped lead us to our current situation. Please write your reaction. This is the human side of what is already happening in the United States though in much less dramatic fashion.
Admire and Boska became known as the Romeo and Juliet in Sarajevo.

  223. Rutherford –

Good calls, I think, on Clinton, Kasich, and Christie. Ohio was an absolute financial disaster, and Kasich has done a fine job of turning it around. He would do a great job as US president.

Take a look at Jim Webb again. No, he is not a beer-buddy, but being a pal is not a required qualification for the job – in fact, it’s a liability. Webb is a decorated war veteran, extensive author, real intellect. And, as you say, he is no-nonsense. One of the best books I’ve read is Webb’s, “Born Fighting.” As president, he wouldn’t worry about pleasing the party wonks. Your President Truman, in a letter to his wife Bess, said that if you want a friend in Washington, buy a dog.

You people don’t need a beer-buddy; you need a hard-nosed, clear-eyed grownup (for a change), who is not steeped in the politics of the far Left or the religion of the far Right – someone who understands what the US Constitution says and, by god, means to follow it. Your country needs a doctor, old friend, not a playmate. Do you want one who can do heart surgery but is gruff, or do you want one who is nice but doesn’t know which end of the knife goes through the skin?

And by the way, it’s good to see an even-handed analysis by someone not tied by the balls to their party, right or wrong. A breath of fresh air. My business is out the roof these days, and time is precious; I don’t read anything on your blog now other than your commentary, but it’s worth the time. Thanks.

  224. He said there was massive celebrations by the Arabs after 911.

I don’t think they were as happy as the zionists and neocons who got what they wanted all along.. Bibi and others claimed 911 was good for them and would get us behind their cause. That’s why today we are following the Yinon plan, no matter what Orwellian name we put on it. There were also Israelis dancing in the streets. We arrested them and eventually let them. Then they went on Israeli teevee to tell their story. At the time we also rounded up another 160 ‘art students on visas’ proved to be Israeli spies. The report was carried by Fox until they buried it. I think Bret Humes was the reporter..

    https://wikispooks.com/wiki/9-11/Israel_did_it

After almost 14 years it is easy to see who benefited from 911. Hint: it isn’t Arabs or Muslims.

  225. Rutherford since I finally came over and viewed the original I have a few more comments for you and Ajax. First to you.
    We have to vote Republican.
I suppose that would be true if the GOP was offering a 21st century equal to TR but I don’t think ANY of the GOP candidates fit that bill.
The truer post for you would be one that looks at the draft Warren movement by folks like MoveOn.org. If you have an ounce of political honesty in your body you know this is true.
Seriously Rutherford you spoke of closing the place down. Previously you’ve lamented how you never dreamed of having a “politics” blog but more a “social commentary” one. IF YOU TRULY MEAN THAT YOU MUST JOIN THE DRAFT WARREN MOVEMENT!!!!
I’m not yelling at you for ill. I’m sincerely offering my prescription for your soul.
Its all ready in your DNA dude as exhibited by what you hoped for in 2008.
I’ve said it before that there is a pretty fine line between politics and social commentary and its a hard zone not to get lost in. For your soul you should look at no more than five social issues that really float your boat and grab ’em tight and run.
My suggestions from what I think I know of you in no particular order:
Parenting: From hard talks/decisions schooling or crazed parents in the stands at sports/school events you got this.
Single payer health care/portable benefits: This ties in with my take on you under employee rights but its so huge it deserves its own spot.
Employee rights I think you “get” that employees whether white, blue or gray collared are finding themselves alone and pressed. You also get that they are important cogs in the Machine that deserve respect and a different look.
Education I tossed this one in as I think you identify with the gift a good education can be. I don’t think you’re as well versed in it as you should be. For your daughters sake I think you should bone up quite a bit.
Color blinding the USA I think this is actually where you would like America to be. United and equal as it could be. I think you want history to be known and respected but not necessarily dwelled upon.
Well there it is. Please feel free to let me know how you take this either here or via email.

  226. @ Ajax I doubt you’ll be viewing this but I just have to go here.

What exactly makes you so dedicated to anyone the DNC pukes on you?

  227. Told students that women could narrow wage gap by changing majors from, say, sociology to engineering.

    😆 😆 😆

What a slap across the face of these man haters. That one had to sting. Complete truth is always the most painful.

  228. Alfie, I appreciate the prescription for the blog and it seems very well thought out.

One reason I’m not going full throttle on Warren is that I recognize FP is important and Warren doesn’t know the first thing about it as far as I can tell.

As Parker suggested, Webb probably deserves a second more in depth look from me.

  229. I like all of the videos, but Abraham, Martin, and John brings back memories of when Moms Mabley narrated the song for the BBC shortly after Bobby was murdered. That was a sad moment.

  230. Gawd Poolman, you are a tool and a fool – useful idiot extraordinaire.

Common Core? Constant testing? Left wing claptrap, sport. Public education is not only failing, it’s the foundation of Leftist politic and indoctrination – and you’re apparently too stupid to understand that. As usual, you’re pointing in the wrong direction to cast blame – that and your staring at it in your filthy bathroom mirror.

Do you ever manage for one second to pull your head of your ass and see light? With incorrigible dipshits like your progeny fiddling around in public education, now maybe the rest of the folk will understand why I first blame poor parenting skills (like you), then meddling administration (like you) as to why my wife and I forked about a gazillion to educate our kids without your vile influence. 😈

And it was the third best decision I ever made.

  231. Public education is not only failing, it’s the foundation of Leftist politic and indoctrination

I thought the media was the culprit. No? The whole of western society is corrupt with the right just as responsible as the left. No, it wasn’t always that way, though it may have been intended. You went to public school. I went to 9 of them (2 were on military base). I know teachers in public schools today that I am certain are making a difference in the lives of many kids. They don’t like the system, but they love teaching kids. They have to do it, it’s their calling. That’s what you’re missing, just sayin’.

  232. “May I remind you, the only president in our history who would rather resign than face impeachment: a Republican.”

May I remind you that the only Presidents to ever be impeached: Democrats.

  233. Hillary Rotten just smoked 31,000 emails on a server that was supposed to be in possession of the American government which would have demonstrated the river of sewer money she and Obama have earned to sell out America, including selling the new ‘reset’ USSR American uranium deposits, while Rutherford expounds on the virtues of Progressive politic.

Gruber was speaking of Rutherford…and could have used his picture in the lectures.

  234. My wife is a retired teacher and Betsy of Betsy’s page is getting close to retirement. Both are and were good at their jobs. Both have taught government, and both have said it is getting harder to teach government as it is meant to be taught because too many people are breaking the rules. Most are liberals.

An early progressive goal was to control the educational system, and it was one of Bill Ayres’ ambitions. I agree with Poolman, many good teachers are still working, but an increasingly large number of them are leftist propogandists. Colleges, at least some departments like the humanities are virtually all progressive mind factories. Sometimes, I think I was too hasty to drop out of grad school after two job counselors told me to hide my veteran status, but the evolution of most history departments support my decision to farm. Life in a university would have been contentious for me.

Andrew Johnson, a Republican, was also impeached but unlike Clinton who was a criminal and possible rapist, Johnson ran afoul of politicians who opposed Lincoln’s Reconstruction program. Clinton, as we know, was impeached for lying under oath and for obstruction of justice. Had Republicans behaved like Democrats, Nixon would have been impeached because Democrats would not have intervened as Republicans did to force Nixon to resign.
The outcome would likely have been similar to Johnson’s and Clinton’s fates.

As I wrote before, conservatives tend to be morally superior to liberals. Nixon, Clinton, and Obama support my charge. Rutherford doesn’t have a leg to stand on regarding this conversation about Nixon. We are better than most liberals.

  235. But millennials are grown up now — and they’re angry. As children, they were told that they could be anything, do anything, and that they were special. As adults, they have formed a unique brand of Identity Politics wherein the groups with which one identifies is paramount. With such a strong narrative that focuses on which group one belongs to, there has been an increasing balkanization of identities. In an attempt to be open-minded toward other groups and to address social justice issues through a lens of intersectionality, clear and distinct lines have been drawn between people. One’s words and actions are inextricable from one’s identities. For example: this is not an article, but an article written by a straight, white, middle-class (etc.) male (and for this reason will be discounted by many on account of how my privilege blinds me — more on this later).

And while that’s well and good (that is — pride in oneself and in one’s identity), the resulting sociopolitical culture among millennials and their slightly older political forerunners is corrosive and destructive to progress in social justice. And herein lies the problem — in attempting to solve pressing and important social issues, millennial social justice advocates are violently sabotaging genuine opportunities for progress by infecting a liberal political narrative with, ironically, hate.

  236. May I remind you that the only Presidents to ever be impeached: Democrats.

Like most folks you don’t know what impeachment is. Andrew Johnson, was the first POTUS to be impeached. Andrew Johnson was a Republican.

  237. Funny how the conclusion Rutherford draws from Nixon is the opposite from what it should be.

Funny what a stupid comment that was. The topic was corruption and Richard Nixon was and is the banner boy for it.

  238. “Like most folks you don’t know what impeachment is. Andrew Johnson, was the first POTUS to be impeached. Andrew Johnson was a Republican.” – R

    SMH……

    Andrew Johnson was a Democrat…

  239. “Funny what a stupid comment that was. The topic was corruption and Richard Nixon was and is the banner boy for it.”

No, you offensive dipshit. The topic was exposure of corruption and the response to it.

Let’s see if I can’t help you to follow along my deep-thinking friend:

Do you see any differences in how the right approached corruption in Nixon compared to the left when it comes to the Clintons (or any others for that matter)?

Of shit. I forgot. You don’t play the “Socratic method” by answering questions regardless of basic and pointed they are.

  240. The version of millennial social justice advocacy that I have spoken about — one thatThis Administration uses Identity Politics to balkanize groups of people, engenders hatred between groups, willingly lies to push agendas, manipulates language to provide immunity from criticism, and that publicly shames anyone who remotely speaks some sort of dissent from the overarching narrative of the orthodoxy — is not admirable. It is deplorable. It appeals to the basest of human instincts: fear and hatred. It is not an enlightened or educated position to take. History will not look kindly on this Orwellian, authoritarian pervision of social justice that has taken social media and millennials by storm over the past few years.

R, I already linked to the article, and yes, it is very well written and thought provoking. Of course, I’ll tell you we’ve been saying this about liberals in general for years now, and while the author centers is focus on Millennials, I would argue that this shift has occurred throughout all of liberalism, not just the latest generation of folks to prance about in the tired threads of a failed ideology.

This para above summarizes this Regime to a ‘T’.

  241. G, I think the older generation of liberals has just learned how to exploit the millennial mindset. The divisive Obama administration is Exhibit “A.”

  242. Andrew Johnson began as a Democrat He was elected as Lincoln’s vice president so in my opinion that made him a effectively Republican because he was part of Lincoln’s administration. , though he was probably more accurately an Independent. He later rejoined the Democrats and was elected senator.

Thanks, Rutherford. Yes, his impeachment was trumped up. It is a stretch but I think the Bolton Amendment which forbade the government from helping leftist revolutionaries in Central America was similar to a law passed to prevent Johnson from firing cabinent members. Johnson tried to fire the Secretary of War, and radical Republicans impeached him. Johnson was on better terms with the moderate Republicans.

Liberalism has changed. Twenty years ago, Hillary was an extreme left winger. Now she is too close to the middle for many liberals. I don’t think she has changed so much.

  243. Lincoln/ Johnson formed a National Unity ticket which further shows the greatness of a guy like Abe. Putting country above all and trying to juggle the realities of highly divisive issues, tempers, tensions, passions and circumstances.

  244. Tigre the point has already been made earlier in the thread by either you or James that Republicans wanted Nixon out. I’m happy to concede that. But that was NOT the topic of discussion. My bringing up Nixon was in response to Tex claiming some Republican superiority in the area of corruption.

Try to follow the flow dude.

  245. Johnson became president as he was vice president at the time of President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. A Democrat who ran with Lincoln on the National Union ticket, Johnson came to office as the Civil War concluded.

From Wiki. G I owe you an apology. You are right. Johnson was a Dem.

  246. A Democrat who ran with Lincoln on the National Union ticket, Johnson came to office as the Civil War concluded. The new president favored quick restoration of the seceded states to the Union. His plans did not give protection to the former slaves, and he came into conflict with the Republican-dominated Congress, culminating in his impeachment by the House of Representatives. The first American president to be impeached, he was acquitted in the Senate by one vote.

No. Lincoln intentionally sought and selected a War Democrat to balance the ticket for his reelection. So no, he was never a Republican, honorary or otherwise…

  247. Actually the left of center desire to control the public education system predate Ayers et al by decades. The early 20th Century evolution of the Colombia School of Education in NYC was the original incubator for centralized progressive public education.

  248. “Try to follow the flow dude.”

I am and it is responsive to Tex’s comment for the reasons stated.

You on the other hand are doing the usual after-the-fact simulated obviousness to being called out.

I’ll forgive you. But try and follow the flow. . . dude.

  249. BTW, Clintons corruption runs far deeper than Nixon’s — and you know it. Shockingly flagrant and born of the left’s tolerance of it.

  250. “Actually the left of center desire to control the public education system predate Ayers et al by decades. The early 20th Century evolution of the Colombia School of Education in NYC was the original incubator for centralized progressive public education.” – Alfie

    How unsurprising this is then…

President Obama is rumored to be in talks to move to New York and teach as a professor at Columbia Law School once his time in the White House is over.

The president has strong links to Columbia University — he was a transfer student from California’s Occidental College in 1981 as a 20-year-old junior, and graduated from Columbia in 1983.

Obama also taught courses in constitutional law at the University of Chicago from 1992 until his election to the US Senate in 2004. He was a senior lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year.

  251. “Like most folks you don’t know what impeachment is. Andrew Johnson, was the first POTUS to be impeached. Andrew Johnson was a Republican.”

You showed your cards. You are ignorant in the history of reconstruction.

  252. Shockingly flagrant and born of the left’s tolerance of it.

Yes and no. Yes, shockingly flagrant and I’m not at all sure I would argue with you about the “relative corruption” of Clinton vs Nixon. Born of the left’s tolerance of it? Ehhhh no. It’s born of the Clinton’s pathological immorality. If for the sake of argument we concede that Republicans tolerate less corruption within their ranks, it still does not appear to have a deterrent effect. Tolerance hasn’t a thing to do with it. It’s a matter of individual integrity.

This is why I said earlier that an ideology should not be judged by its worst practitioners.

  253.  “Born of the left’s tolerance of it? Ehhhh no.” R

I don’t get this. The slime is going to be nominated by your party. Doesn’t that say something about your party?

  254. are folks here saying they opposenational federal curriculum standards?

So you think Nixon is the banner for corruption, hey Pravda? Would appear to me you forgot to include and “held accountable.” But I’ve got two words. Black Caucus. How many examples do you want?

My favorite is Smiling Charlie Rengel writing tax laws while cheating on his taxes. And his penalty. Not much.

That’s what I dislike the most about you, Rutherford. Your double standards and selective memory. And the only reason you have a problem with Sir Hillary is because she’s female. Otherwise, you’d be a Hillary lapdog too.

  255. ” it still does not appear to have a deterrent effect. ”

Corruption is a given. Its how you respond to it that counts.

    Nixon was cornered into resigning.

Hilary will win the Democratic primary and probably be nominated for president.

See the difference? (Of course you do. This must be tough for you. Compartmentalize)

  256. “Tolerance hasn’t a thing to do with it. It’s a matter of individual integrity.”

WTF?? That’s total bullshit. But DR already answered to it. Alternately, you could ask your daughter whether she believes that line of shit.

“This is why I said earlier that an ideology should not be judged by its worst practitioners.”

And your statement above is why we referred to progs as a party of expediency.

  257. The slime is going to be nominated by your party. Doesn’t that say something about your party?

That’s not the point. I inferred from Tigre’s comment that there’s some compelling causal connection between leftist tolerance and leftist corruption. I don’t agree. Intolerance only goes so far as a deterrent. The problem with the Clinton’s is that they’re slime. They’re not slime BECAUSE the party tolerates it. They’re slime because … they’re slime.

Now if you want to throw daggers at the party that tolerates it, fine. I just don’t buy the causal connection.

  258. There is this odd phenomenon on this blog that everything I say is taken in isolation and the comment that provoked my reaction is conveniently forgotten.

Let’s try again, real slow this time. Tigre said:

Shockingly flagrant and born of the left’s tolerance of it.

Now for those for whom English is a second language, “born of” essentially means “caused by”. So Tigre asserted that the lefts tolerance of corruption is a causal factor to the Clinton’s flagrant corruption. My response: no it isn’t. The Clintons are corrupt because they are corrupt and any attempt to blame all of progressivism for it doesn’t pass the smell test.

  259. I’m dying here. Suddenly Tex is a feminist.

Your corpse is been stinking it up for going on seven years now – your hopes as dead as your ideology and predictions. But after reading my laughing at a feminist, you now believe makes me a feminist your abnormal brain won’t even work for Dr. Frankenstein.

  260. I think Rutherford sniffs glue. He’s not very smart, sometimes. And when he is cornered, he’s just weird.

  261. We just returned to Omaha.

Johnson was a War Democrat, its true. However, he did not run as a Democrat. He and Lincoln ran as members of the National Union Party for Republicans loyal to Lincoln. His managers weren’t sure he could win under the Republican name. Other Republicans nominated John Fremont who had been the first to run as a Republican.

After Lincoln died, Andrew Johnson was still listed as a National Union party member, which given his Democratic roots made him more of an independent, as I wrote earlier. When he left office, Johnson rejoined the Democrats.
I do not oppose national standards either. The Finns, for example, have standards, but give schools and teachers freedom to manage their own methods.

What the hell is the mayor of Baltimore thinking?

  262. I agree with Rutherford. The Clintons are slime because they are slime. That part has nothing to do with liberals as Rutherford wrote.

The Democrats are slime because they tolerate and promote the Clintons and their culture because they fit an identity older than they are. The Democrats would be slime even if Hillary and Bill had been aborted.

  263. “So Tigre asserted that the lefts tolerance of corruption is a causal factor to the Clinton’s flagrant corruption. My response: no it isn’t.”

    Holy. Fucking. Shit.

Yes. Yes it is. “Shockingly flagrant” is the product of not being held to account, or in the case of your thought masters, defended.

    “FLAGRANT

conspicuously offensive ; especially : so obviously inconsistent with what is right or proper as to appear to be a flouting of law or morality ”

What the fuck is the matter with you? Have you always had the debate skills of an adolescent?

  264. But after reading my laughing at a feminist, you now believe makes me a feminist

No ding dong — my mocking your faux feminism was provoked by your saying the only reason I don’t like Hillary is she has boobs. And again, to help those who can’t follow a fucking conversation:

Tex: And the only reason you have a problem with Sir Hillary is because she’s female. Otherwise, you’d be a Hillary lapdog too.

  265. Then how could Clinton be where she is today?

And you say I’m sniffing glue. What about cause/effect do you not understand? There are decent pols and there are indecent pols. Both types rise to incredible levels of fame and fortune. To suggest that the ideology creates the indecent pols when there are decent pols who are contrary examples, means the causation is faulty.

Let’s try again Rabbit. There is a difference between saying “Progressivism made the Clintons the scumbags they are” and “the Clintons are scumbags because they are morally bankrupt and progressives have tolerated this behavior for 20+ years”.

There is something in the DNA of all “believers” that puts them in denial about the faults of their leaders. If you can find me one instance of a progressive think tank declaring bribery, quid pro quo and conflict of interest as guiding principles or doctrine, I’ll not only cede the point to you, I’ll convert to conservatism by nightfall.

  266. The Democrats are slime because they tolerate and promote the Clintons and their culture because they fit an identity older than they are. The Democrats would be slime even if Hillary and Bill had been aborted.

LOL – James sort of translated my point although I’m not sure I would’ve put it quite like that. 😆

James, IMHO, the Mayor of Baltimore needs to spend less time on Meet the Press being a glamor puss, shooting for national exposure to further political ambitions and spend more time cleaning up her fucking city.

  267. Yes. Yes it is. “Shockingly flagrant” is the product of not being held to account, or in the case of your thought masters, defended.

So says you!!! I don’t agree. I return to Nixon. It is your claim Republicans hold their folks to account. How did that effect Nixon’s behavior? Not a wit. I am telling you, unless you’re talking about children, intolerance of bad behavior is a weak deterrent, if any deterrent at all.

Scumbags will be scumbags. Political opportunists like yourself extrapolate the bad behavior of the scumbag to the entire ideology.

  268. The Clinton’s would engage in the industrial-style corruption that they do today if it weren’t for the left’s protection of it.

Or maybe it’s just the anti-Disney gay biker bars or something.

  269. “Political opportunists like yourself extrapolate the bad behavior of the scumbag to the entire ideology.”

When the bad behavior is looking the other way and even defending it, I sure do.

You seem to have had an interesting turn in philosophy from your indictment of Southern churches the “religious right” when it comes to what you call “anti-gay” behavior. What changed?

Oh yeah. The party/individual you identify with in mounting your defense of political expediency.

  270. Ehhhh a constitutional amendment to outlaw gay marriage was in the GOP platform. See my challenge to Rabbit. Find me the democratic platform or doctrine that defends bribery, quid pro quo and conflict of interest.

  271. “It is your claim Republicans hold their folks to account”

Actually, I’m claiming everybody holds Republicans accountable.

  272. Holy fuck. Maybe Nixon should’ve done what Clinton did instead. Look what we got?

If he had a majority that would support him, as your party would and does Clinton, do you think Nixon would’ve gone forward with the risk of impeachment or not?

  273. Yes, R. You are right. Corruption is not held at ad part of the dem platform like that pro-slavery and gay bashing “platform” you get from the right. Good point duly noted.

  274. National Guard called into Baltimore.

Saw 20 people that looked like they could be Obama’s son looting 7-11.

  275. Ha Ha Rutherford. The mayor had better change something or she will not even be mayor of a middle sized city. I had an Air Force friend from Baltimore. He was tightly wound after Vietnam. He could be dead by now.
Rabbit is right. Everyone holds Republicans accountable. They have to be more honest. They have no other choice.

  276. “Saw 20 people that looked like they could be Obama’s son looting 7-11.”

    LOL.

Oh, and for R since he needs signals: 🙄 🙄 🙄

  277. I am paraphrasing but apparently the Ballmer mayor said Saturday that they were going to give those who wanted violence “space to do so”. I’m not sure where to go with that. Effective way to protect the police?

Message to Rabbit: 95% of the folks in that neighborhood look like they could be Obamas sons. Your point?

As usual some of these folks are opportunistic out of town agitators.

  278. Could this be deemed left wing terrorism?

This ain’t Bill Ayers. This is common thugs.

But there is a conclusion to be drawn from this and you’re not gonna like it.

  279. DR, funny how there’s now a trend towards immediate looting and violence when it comes incidents involving kids that look like Obama’s son? No escalation. Hear about it, start burning the bitch down. I think much of that has to do with the Obama/Holder doctrine.

  280. I think much of that has to do with the Obama/Holder doctrine.

HEAR HEAR!!! Yes I remember that quote from Eric Holder “burn the motherfucker down”. To which Obama said “WORD!” With his fist in the air.

  281. I know you find me naive but I’m very disappointed in Maddow who I consider too smart to spew this shit. Or maybe the lies prove she’s smarter than I am.

  282. “I think much of that has to do with the Obama/Holder doctrine”

    Exactly.

I don’t know much. But I knew in the pit of my stomach that this is what was going to happen the minute Obama started interjecting himself in every racial beef like Jerry Springer.

I mean for God’s sake the President of the United States jumped into a petty dispute (without knowing the facts) because his homie had a mix up with the cops. I knew we were done at that moment.

  283. “HEAR HEAR!!! Yes I remember that quote from Eric Holder “burn the motherfucker down”. To which Obama said “WORD!” With his fist in the air.”

    You suck at sarcasm.

No, start by siding and pandering to the looters to be sure there conduct is validated. If proved wrong, move on. The Rutherfords will fill an after-the-fact narrative to justify the looters actions and vilify the wrongly accused so long as he/she is white.

  284. Tex: And the only reason you have a problem with Sir Hillary is because she’s female. Otherwise, you’d be a Hillary lapdog too.

The same reason I dislike Barack Baltimore – because he’s female. You can tell by the way he throws and wears his pants. 😈

President Baltimore’s Hope & Change, Baby! Oh, and tell Mr. Eric Holder. That bullshit about racist white cops being the underlying issue for national thuggery? Uh huh. This is Prog City. This is Chocolate City. This is Chocolate City Management.

Ready to admit yet that Barack Obama aint’ it?

  285. Some black punk on TV is saying this is sending a message to “White America” suburbia. Wants to escalate it?

    Yes We Can!!!!

Rutherford, remember back to salad days of The ObamaMessiah standing in front of Styrofoam columns ushering justice and freedom for the people of color? All the dancin’ in the streets and the parks? And you promised us a new day with the wind blowing through your hair? Did you see this coming.

Do you see the world on fire now? Do you see the solid blue urban centers on fire, all manned by yoru progressive Democrats? This sorry MOFO you elected and reelected for President who appointed racist bastards like Eric Holder, cannot only not control America’s enemies. He can’t even control the streets of America.

    Piss on Progressives…

  286. Seriously Rutherford, don’t you wonder WHY Maddow is bold faced lying about Ferguson?

    Vast left wing conspiracy? 🙂

Seriously, she has an ideological axe to grind but lies aren’t needed to further it. That’s why I’m genuinely puzzled.

  287. “One day I WILL snatch the pebble from your hand.”

    No you won’t.

“Seriously, she has an ideological axe to grind but lies aren’t needed to further it.”

    Yes they are.

  288. “Some black punk on TV is saying this is sending a message to “White America” suburbia. Wants to escalate it?”

I would love to see them try in metro Detroit. We could use our cross bows alone to stop them..

Say what you guys want about Michigan, but we fight back and armed like Texas.
