Hey Ho, West and Bachmann Gotta Go!

With the first Obama-Romney debate in the can even the calmest Obama supporter is worried about the future. Andrew Sullivan was downright apoplectic. Bob Herbert seemed just plain angry: The president let his people down. And if he’s capable of doing that in an election that is clearly so important, it means he’s capable of doing it again if he wins a second term.

Come November 6, whether Obama wins or loses, the far more important issue will be what kind of Congress we will be looking at. It is unlikely that the House will return to Democrat control but we can at least hope to be rid of a few nutjobs. We cannot afford to lose the Senate, which would guarantee more gridlock in a second Obama term or give Mitt Romney carte blanche to take us back to the days of Ozzie and Harriet.

So, on election night I’ll be keeping one eye on the POTUS race and the other on the following legislative battles:

Allen West: This certifiably loony Congressman from Florida must be given his walking papers. Back when he was running he famously claimed he had a higher security clearance than the POTUS. Then, more recently he channeled Joseph McCarthy, claiming that a very precise margin of Democrats were card carrying Communists.

I wrote more about crazy Allen back in the day.

Michele Bachmann: MSNBC’s Chris Matthews put Minnesota’s Bachmann on the map when she channeled her inner Joseph McCarthy on “Hardball” saying that the media should investigate which of her peers in Congress were “anti-American”.

More recently she made baseless accusations against a devoted public servant, Huma Abedin because of supposed family associations to the Muslim Brotherhood. Even conservatives such as John McCain could not stomach this. Despite her record as paranoid crackpot, I have a small place in my heart for Michele. During a Presidential campaign event, a lesbian used her child as a prop to humiliate Bachmann. Bachmann’s behavior toward the child was kind and gracious. Then during her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show, the house band played “Lyin’ Ass Bitch” as Bachmann came on stage, no doubt fully knowing that Bachmann would not be in on the “joke”. Fallon later apologized. I felt very bad for Bachmann in both these instances and I was left with the impression that’s she’s well meaning, albeit nutty as a fruitcake. She even seemed to tamp down the crazy a bit during her bid for President. Still, Michele needs to go.

Todd Akin: Not content to be a knuckle dragging Neanderthal in the House of Representatives, Todd decided to run against Claire McCaskill for a Senate seat from Missouri. As we all know by now, Todd thinks that when a woman is REALLY raped (or in his words the rape is “legitimate”) the woman’s body has special powers to fight off rapist sperm and not get pregnant. Do I really need to say any more?

Joe Walsh: No, not the former member of the Eagles. This is Illinois’s GOP contribution to the House of Representatives. Joe is an over caffienated gaffe machine who recently said that his opponent Tammy Duckworth was talking too much about her military service. We won’t go into the fact that Tammy left a few limbs behind while serving her country. We also won’t discuss that Joe is behind on child support.

George Allen: More proof that there is always a second act in American politics (see Bill Clinton), George ran against Jim Webb for Senate in 2006 and while on the campaign trail referred to a brown skinned Webb staffer as “Macaca“. I’m not sure anyone ever figured out exactly what the heck George was talking about other than that it seemed ethnically antagonistic and ultimately cost George the election. Well, he’s baaaaaaaaaaaack and trying to defeat former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine for a seat in the Senate. Let’s hope Kaine prevails.

The Following Birthers:

Cliff Stearns, Florida

Mike Coffman, Colorado

Vicky Hartzler, Missouri

Anyone supporting this basically racist theory that Obama is not an American deserves a kick out the nearest Capitol exit door.

We may not be able to return Obama to the White House but perhaps we can return some sanity to the House and Senate. Who are your choices for the crazies who must go?

Respectfully,
Rutherford

  1. So Andrew Sullivan can make sweeping generalizations from the one debate but the Dead Rabbit is an utter moron?

Andrew Sullivan gets quoted first paragraph in the new blog.

Dead Rabbit gets called dumb for the 5th time buried deep in the comment section of the last blog. The one titled “Why I am Voting For Barack Obama” which omits why the writer is voting for Barack Obama.

Why is Andrew Sullivan better the Rabbit?

  2. Andrew Sullivan is better than the Rabbit for two reasons. He is a liberal, and he has a national column.
Dead Rabbit could out think most of those folks while asleep. Rabbit is better than they. The world just doesn’t know it.

  3. Actually Rutherford, at one time Allen West, when he was in the military, may very well have had a higher security clearance than the President.

  4. Now this is the Rutherford I know. Not the arrogant, poll quoting Rutherford.

The whining Rutherford. The duplicitous Rutherford. The blind Rutherford. The stay away from numbers Rutherford.

Know what learned today, Rutherford? Speaking of morons that need to go? That black assed, bitch, HO, criminal, insanely stupid Maxine Waters actually got a job for the punk assed, coward, lynch his ass, spook banger who bricked Reginald Denny on live TV during the Rodney King riots, where the animals burned their own neighborhood down.

And you want to accuse Republicans of electing the dregs of society to office?

  5. I meant the attack in Benghazi, Tigre. I was pfffft-Ing the relevance and relative insanity of the problem characters in Congress.

West and Bachman are as relevant in comparison to the attack and cover up on Libya as Big Bird is to the national dialogue.

  6. Commenting from my phone is no good.

I heard Obumba thinks he was “too polite” to Romney. Yeah, that’s what it was.

  7. Just worthy of note. No acceptance of Tex’s challenge by Rutherford, just another distraction post. So desperate was R to dodge that train wreck he went out of his way to throw a traterous black man under the bus for leaving the Dimocratic nest.

I have to say I chucked at the too polite comment by the Messiah. Played the race card in a new way. Didn’t want to be seen as the intimidating angry black man that has every white woman afraid to go out into the dark scarey night. You have to give these guys credit for imagination. Obama was looking out for those poor white girls so he tamed his game. Pfft!

  8. Muffy, cougars put up notices. Cougars. 🙂

[*rabbit sprays mouth with fresh breath aerosol, spit combs eye brows with fingers and pops his collar….]

Tigre, with my new found popularity at the Rutherford Lawson blog, no jury will convict me. Thus a moot point if you would get my poot in the joint.

    Heyoooo!

  9. Ten cases of voter fraud? 😈 Rampant voter fraud – hundreds of thousands of dead people still on the rolls.

What a mofoing whopper that one was! 😆 😆 I just busted your ass on camera in the last thread not eight hours ago.

This is such an utter fraud by the Dimocrats, it ranks up there with blaming deaths on a joke of a video.

    Dims have gone full monty.

  10. James O’keef released another video showing Obama allies encouraging more voter fraud across state lines in multiple states.

Maybe he should run for office.

  11. Muffy said “West and Bachman are as relevant in comparison to the attack and cover up on Libya as Big Bird is to the national dialogue.”

Doh! Gotcha now. I’m a little slow on the uptake. I ain’t no Rabbit.

Did you know Rabbit once stared a man to death?

  12. Re: #13, for one:

You’ve got some sick puppies hanging out at this blog. Puppies who have problems with dark-skinned people

  13. James, I now share your outrage over Obama’s handling of the Libyan crisis. It is 100 proof bullshit election politics that has driven the deception.

Is there any doubt that the lies about the video (even taking the maker into custody for all to see) was to cover for the asinine football spiking over Obama’s “courageous” execution of bin Laden and claims that al-Qaeda was effectively wiped out a week earlier in Charlotte?

And more admittedly manipulated employment numbers put out for headlines in advance of the debates?

Why aren’t any of the liberals here voicing their disgust? Come on sheeple. This un-be-fucking-lievable! 😈

  14. You’ve got some sick puppies hanging out at this blog. Puppies who have problems with dark-skinned people

LOL and Victor, you’re seeing them on a GOOD day. 😉

Welcome to the blog, come back often.

  15. You’ve got some sick puppies hanging out at this blog. Puppies who have problems with dark-skinned people

That’s right. Especially ones called Barack Obama, maggots like Maxine Waters, and scum like this….

If you’ve got a problem with that Victor Victoria, you can kiss my lily white ass. 😉

  16. Nice thing to wake up to this morning. Went outside to check the mail, I find my Romney sign cut in half and hanging on my truck side mirror. I look to the back and the bumper sticker is covered in black spray paint as well as a 1/3 of my tail gate. I go out the rest of the way to the mail box and the neighbor across the street has his sign slashed and in the middle of his yard. Taking a walk around the block 2 others with slashed signs.

Watch the news over the next few days if you live in western Michigan. We are setting up our Halloween yard decorations. I am heading down after work to the Republican office, purchasing the biggest sign they have to put in my yard. The scarecrow in the chair will be manned and loaded for bear.

  17. Barack Obama and Hillary Rotten Clinton – accessories to four murders. Gross incompetence. Obama needs to be impeached and dishonored. I hope they discuss it at length tonight.

How you like those apples, Victoria? I’m an equally opportunity racist, misogynist and vote suppressor. 😈

  18. Why is Andrew Sullivan better the Rabbit?

Well I wouldn’t say better but let’s peel the onion a bit.

    1) I said Sullivan was apoplectic. I did not say he should be. In fact I thought my tone implied that Sullivan had gone overboard.

    2) Sullivan had a major problem with Obama’s performance. He felt Romney won because Obama sucked, not because Romney won on points. Romney distanced himself from every talking point he’s made in the past six months. Sullivan knows this. You do not … and now let’s look at your analysis.

You watch one ass-kicking debate and we get:
Wow. Today really makes me aware of how bad of a candidate McCain was. I don’t know if he will win the election or what the talking heads will say about the debate, but Romney is an awesome candidate.

One debate performance makes him an “awesome candidate”? But there’s more:

Yup. All the hiding from the media (or the media hiding him) devestated Obama. I’m too young to remember the Reagan debates. I’ve never seen an ass kicking like that on live TV when it comes to political debate. Tex is right. Obama can’t hide. America deserves Obama if they vote for him. Count me as a big time Romney supporter from here out. And the best thing is I can hold my head high even if he loses the election.

The bold part suggests before this ONE DEBATE you weren’t a “big time Romney supporter”. So again, one performance turns you into a believer. But wait, if you call in the next five minutes you get:

And the whole “wooden Romney” thing can be put to rest. The dude is energetic. Charismatic. I would like to have him as my boss. The guy is sharp as a tack.

Yes, based on this debate, one would not consider Romney wooden. So obviously according to Rabbit there must be no evidence for the “wooden” characterization. It must just be spin. But now comes the money quote:

Romney is an awesome candidate. Rutherford, you may find this hard to believe, but the debate was one of the only times I’ve ever seen Romeny in action. I can’t follow the day to day campaign stuff. Can’t stand political conventions. Didn’t even really watch much of the GOP debates.

I have to admit. The liberal characterizations of Romeny left a sort of unconscious imprint on my mind. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was all bull shit.

So, again I boldface the key points. No I don’t find it at all hard to believe Rabbit. There is no way in f*cking hell that you could’ve watched Romney coverage … not what was said about him … but what we saw with our own two eyes … for the past year and NOT concluded that he is a lousy campaigner, wooden as your front porch, and more waffling than any Eggo you ever put in your toaster. If all you had to go on were the “liberal characterizations” then I’d understand you … but you had lots more to go on. Lots of first hand evidence. Unlike Andrew Sullivan, you didn’t see the first hand evidence because you weren’t paying attention.

And THAT is why I spent a good portion of the last thread smacking you. Again… as I said in my analogy, you tossed dozens of data points (former bad Romney debate performances, incredibly awkward Romney campaign appearances, etc.) and embraced the ONE debate you bothered to watch. Then you had the nerve to cast aspersions on “liberal characterizations” when you hadn’t taken the trouble to look at Romney yourself.

Rabbit, more than anyone else on this blog, you’re the best at sniffing out a bullsh*tter. Most of the time, as a pol Romney is as fake as a counterfeit bill. I have no doubt that the real Romney is a genuine, even nice, guy. But unless you’ve watched him over the past year on the trail, you can’t make the conclusions you made based on one debate. Yes dude, it made you sound like a high school freshman.

Andrew Sullivan on the other hand sounded like an hysterical girl. But at least he was better informed going in than you were. (I might add, better informed than I was … dude makes a living following this stuff.)

  19. Andrew Sullivan is better than the Rabbit for two reasons. He is a liberal, and he has a national column.

Sorry James you’re wrong, Sullivan is a conservative who is fed up with the dysfunctional Republican party. He is right along side David Frum who know the GOP has lost its way.

As for the national column, I agree with you … on his best days, Rabbit should have a national column too.

  20. You see Rabbit … don’t be sore at me, my gnashing of teeth in the last thread provided an opening for everyone (James, Tex, Muffy etal.) to show their Rabbit-love. Doesn’t it make your heart swell? 😉

  21. Rabbit, if we were both in prison, I’d make you MY bitch.

ROTFLMAO. Tigre, didn’t you get that backwards? Wouldn’t it have been more complementary to suggest you’d volunteer to be Rabbit’s bitch? 😆

  22. What the fuck are you smoking Rutherford???!!!!

OK forget Ozzie Nelson for a minute. Tell me old Mitt wouldn’t be right at home with these 50’s icons:
    Ward Cleaver
    Ward Cleaver

    or

Henry Mitchell (Dad of Dennis the Menace)
    Henry Mitchell

    or

Steve Douglas, father of My Three Sons
    Steve Douglas

Mitt’s straight from central casting as a 50’s Dad. 😆

  23. Rutherford your blog today offers a lot to hate and I’m going to call you on it brother.
First and foremost the race card extraordinaire played today by YOU and Victor. In two comments you allowed and played party to painting everyone who posts here as racists. I don’t know if I should toss you a “Fuck You”! or a “Come on-really”!? I do know it speaks volumes to the thought that there are folks who are quite devious and purposeful in framing the discussion.

As for Romney as the unofficial fan-boy in these here parts I obviously take great exception to both your characterizations as well as those of Messr. Andy Sullivan. For the here and now yours are on point.
Romney has been an excellent candidate, perhaps even a little bit awesome. He has been purposeful and focused even when his handlers and proxies were having fits. he has projected confidence and ability throughout even if it was burdened by a maturity and complexity that the sound bite pop idol types can’t groove to.
Anybody with an ounce of integrity can step back and see what Romney has done vis a vis his message. He has done what a long line of candidates have done and will continue to do into the future as long as there is a two party dominance present. He has plopped the red meat dripping on the block when needed and he has trimmed, rolled and packaged it as needed for the more discerning political consumer. For this he is tarred by the disingenuous and labelled in a manner that deadrabbit saw through.
As for your ranting and hating on DR’s Romney awakening….THAT DOES GET YOU A BIG OLE FUUUUUUCCCKKKKK YOOOOO You and a legion of others jumped on the Barack Obama bandwagon after a speech in Boston where amongst everything else he said he dropped the lie that he would be staying in the Senate. Dude I don’t care if someone supports Romney because they like the color of his tie….you and yours need to STFU when it comes to the when’s and why’s of anyones support of any candidate.

  24. Actually Rutherford, at one time Allen West, when he was in the military, may very well have had a higher security clearance than the President.

Newt, please explain how that is possible. (Rabbit or Alfie or Gorilla wanna take a shot at it?)

  25. Regarding Benghazi, I heard some spin from Nancy Pelosi today that it’s the Republican’s fault for defunding embassy security.

    Dontcha love partisan politics? 😉

  26. @ 44 which I had not seen since I was stomping out my #45…
That is not the context of your earlier statement and not the thing I was responding to. You said in full:

We cannot afford to lose the Senate, which would guarantee more gridlock in a second Obama term or give Mitt Romney carte blanche to take us back to the days of Ozzie and Harriet.

To me this implied a number of negatives up to and including; racism, misogyny, overbearing paternalism, and an overall halcyon ignorance/romance thing.
Did I give you too much credit?

  27. hundreds of thousands of dead people still on the rolls.

So f*cking what? They don’t show up to vote. Damn you and yours are thick as a brick. Voter id does NOT solve the problems you keep citing. Why is that so goddam hard to understand?

  28. Only because it will calm me down… West’s,or others, security clearance does not match the POTUS.
There is some baggage to West’s statement though and it is open to spin and interpretation as to what he really meant when he said it.

  29. @51 I think you’re the thick one here. identity theft basics says that if you peruse a roll of names and pick out the dead ones you can take a shot at a number of things. Credit and SS are the big ticket items but if they are still registered…sure voting is in the mix. ID CHECKS WOULD ABSOLUTELY,POSITIVELY SOLVE THAT PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. And more admittedly manipulated employment numbers put out for headlines in advance of the debates?

Glad to see you volunteer for the ass-class with Hack Welch.

    Pathetic.

  31. “You’ve got some sick puppies hanging out at this blog. Puppies who have problems with dark-skinned people”

Possibly – another interpretation is that they have problems with criminals, parasites and professional whiners – and you identify those categories with dark-skinned people. The problem could be on YOUR side of the fence, eh?

Me OTOH, I grew up in with proud, almost exclusively white people who, thanks to the Roosevelt legacy, are now in large part professional OxyContin abusers and non-contributing parasites, and I realize that a socialist govt can do those things to anybody. Nothing to do with your skin; everything to do with your gov’t. (cf East Germany, North Korea, Cuba, NYC, DC)

  32. “Glad to see you volunteer for the ass-class with Hack Welch.”

You don’t even know what I’m talking about even though I gave the link do you, Ass-clown.

  33. In two comments you allowed and played party to painting everyone who posts here as racists.

I don’t think that’s fair. Victor referred to a comment by Tex which was, as Tex loves to do, racially loaded big time. I’ve noticed a habit of yours Alfie that you read “Alfie” when your name is not mentioned. I’ve never called you a racist and never would. If you gave me perceived cause to, then I’d do it and I’d do it by name. So if you’re feeling some kind of guilt by association with Tex, that is really beyond my control. And FWIW I really don’t think Tex is a racist. I think he likes to push buttons. I DO think Tex and some others on this blog have a very cynical view of blacks. I do find that disturbing.

As for the second of what I discerned were three main points in your comment, if flip-flopping wildly is the mark of a good politician, then I agree that Romney is on top of his game. And I will state further that his most recent remark on abortion (one in many that his handlers had to walk back after the fact) was masterful. No legislation that he was aware of. Brilliant! You can’t call that pro-choice or pro-life. It can be spun to please everyone.

For your third point, I readily concede that Obama worshipers went on much less evidence to love him than Rabbit did to love Romney. Score one for Alfie.

Alfie, your support of Romney has always baffled me. Perhaps I should just grant you your due as a Massachusetts resident who watched Romney in action when you had skin in the game (as a citizen effected by his policies) and take on faith that you know the REAL Romney and that all will be ok if he gets elected.

  34. To me this implied a number of negatives up to and including; racism, misogyny, overbearing paternalism, and an overall halcyon ignorance/romance thing.

I was deliberately being a wise ass with the photos … I just got a major kick out of just HOW MUCH Mitt fits right in with them.

No you got my point completely. Mitt represents a party that has indeed embraced all the negatives you’ve listed. Mitt will be an effective POTUS only to the extent that he distances himself from his party … something he started to do in last week’s debate.

  35. What does?

Tigre, these problems such as registering dead people are hard to solve because often unregulated volunteer groups are involved in the process. As I recall one of the problems with ACORN was that incentives were put in place for number of people registered and the incentives led to bad behavior.

The bigger question is what fraud leads to one person having more than one vote? That is the only kind of fraud that needs to be stamped out. And the simple fact is, the occurrence of folks either voting twice or voting as someone else is negligible. I can’t speak for polling places across the country but every time I’ve voted I’ve been asked my name and address and it was cross checked against a registry. For me to vote as someone else, I’d have to be given the name and address in advance by someone who knew that name and address was on the rolls AND that they would not show up to vote themselves before I got there.

Voter id laws have only one goal … voter suppression … listen to one who knows …

  36. if you peruse a roll of names and pick out the dead ones you can take a shot at a number of things.

I don’t necessarily argue with scrubbing the rolls to eliminate dead people so long as it’s done by a non-partisan watch dog group. Once the roll is scrubbed, voter id is NOT needed because the person showing up to vote and claiming the name of the dead person will be told “sorry, you’re not registered to vote, have a nice day.”

  37. Tex, regarding 34 and 35 … best not to comment while drinking and driving.

Ah, I just wanted to entertain Victoria some more. It doesn’t know me like you do. I still say the Korean grocers were personal heroes of mine.

My embedded code just kept disappearing – would appear I had “texted” that in, didn’t it? 😆

  38. Rutherford,

As far as that Republican voter fraud? Equally scum.

Now get on board with me to get these cheating SOBs over a barrel and let’s get to working on these national voter ID cards with picture so you and can continue to negate each others vote year after year.

Got to have one to get foodstamps. Got to have one to fly a plane. Got to have one to cash a check.

Need to have one to vote.

  39. “Tigre, these problems such as registering dead people are hard to solve because often unregulated volunteer groups are involved in the process.”

So, i.d. solves the problem. Your point is that there’s no problem.

    See how this works?

  40. Now let’s go get that filmmaker for all of the trouble he caused at our embassies.

First of all, don’t go all GOP on me and overstate your case. That is the fatal flaw of the Fox News crowd, they don’t know when to quit while they’re ahead. There is no evidence that the uprising at the Egyptian embassy or any other besides Libya was caused by anything other than the video. So smack your lips on Libya … I see you boys are eager to make a field day out of it, but like I said, don’t overstate your case. (Or am I wrong to parse out your word “embassies”?)

As for the CNBC piece … hey what we are learning from this is that these figures are imprecise at best. We should already now that since they get revised in subsequent months anyway. All I ask is don’t hide the imprecision when you’re beating up on Obama and then scream about it when it makes Obama look a bit better.

  41. There is no evidence that the uprising at the Egyptian embassy or any other besides Libya was caused by anything other than the video.

How do you carry on a reasonable debate with someone this thick?

Yeah, yeah. I see your point. All those riots just happened to have fallen on 9/11 – sheer coincidence.

The video had been out the better part of two months. Why didn’t the savages riot in July?

Damn Rutherford. You could split atoms with that mind.

  42. So Rutherford, you think Jolting Joe is going to carry the night? I figure Joe going to come out breathing fire, encircled by abject stupidity, gross distortions, and massive projection.

Joe may be possibly the dumbest person ever to hold a Senate seat in U.S. history. I’m still shocked The Bambi didn’t ditch Joe for Hillary Rotten.

If nothing else, the night should be entertaining.

  43. “There is no evidence that the uprising at the Egyptian embassy or any other besides Libya was caused by anything other than the video.

Are you on drugs? Seriously. Are you really this dumb or just uninformed Rutherford? The damn congressional inquiry is under way. The testimony of those at the State department has already been offered.

I know your precious propaganda station isn’t mentioning it, but shit man. Try looking at was has been said — from the WH itself for God’s sake.

The movie WAS A DELIBERATE LIE FROM YOUR MESSIAH’S ADMINISTRTAION!!!!!

Get your head out of you ass. This is a big deal.

  44. In the jolly spirit of discussing prison life, I would recommend this little book:

    http://www.amazon.com/You-Are-Going-To-Prison/dp/1559501197

If you are ever tempted to let your temper get away from you, I suggest reading this book before the next fortnight passes away. Not a preaching-kind of book, no moralizing, none of that stuff. Just a very practical guide to getting through as intact as possible.

And to answer the question that is on everybody’s mind: Yes, you are going to take it up the rump. Especially if you are white – in that case your possibilities are between 99 and 101 percent. Just hope you can eventually stretch enough to get used to it, since it will likely involve at least five large black men, often with near-simultaneity. (ref: “gang rape”)

Just thought I’d lighten up the mood a little. (grin)

  45. Tex I’ll remind you that Ms. Waters was acquitted of all House accusations against her.

    {Puts head in hands and laughs uncontrollably}

Nasty Maxine is as pure tar driven slush. Kangaroo court of the black caucus – hell old Charlie Rangel was actually writing tax laws while he was cheating. 😆

I kind of enjoy that hag up there. She’s such a buffoon, she’s entertaining.

Let’s reminiscence…and make sure to watch people in the background. The two people to the nag’s right are about to break ribs to keep from laughing out loud the last couple of seconds

  46. Gorilla is trying to protect the country from both the jihadists and Obama’s gross incompetence and Hillary Rotten’s gross negligence. That’s more than one man should have to bare.

How about another demonstration of 110% dumb ass rating a high position in the Dimocratic Party? You just know Al Qaeda is licking their lips when this stooge hits the stage:

Wasserman Schultz: Wrong Statements About Libya Doesn’t Mean They Were False

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/10/10/wasserman_schultz_wrong_statements_about_libya_doesnt_mean_they_were_false.html

  47. As a student at Harvard Law School, then-bachelor Barack Obama’s practice of wearing a gold band on his wedding-ring finger puzzled his colleagues.

Now, newly published photographs of Obama from the 1980s show that the ring Obama wore on his wedding-ring finger as an unmarried student is the same ring Michelle Robinson put on his finger at the couple’s wedding ceremony in 1992.

Moreover, according to Arabic-language and Islamic experts, the ring Obama has been wearing for more than 30 years is adorned with the first part of the Islamic declaration of faith, the Shahada: “There is no god except Allah.”

  48. Rabbit, you know how I feel about teachers. Love you man!

Tex, was 39 yours? Very funny.

Bachmann and Ryan both solicited stimulus funds they railed against. Ryan even lied about it. Congress sucks but they are being given a huge pass because everyone is blaming Obama.

Hey jobbers, has Gallup been infiltrated too? Their daily tracking has unemployment at 7.3%.

Weekly claims dropped 30,000 to lowest level since early 2008.

Romney has dropped the unemployment number from his stump speech but continues to lie about Obama doubling the deficit.

Romney has been telling a touching story about a chance meeting with a former navy seal slain in Benghazi. Friends say the exchange between the two men was far different than Romney paints it. The dead man’s mother has requested that he stop it.

  49. “Gorilla is trying to protect the country from both the jihadists and Obama’s gross incompetence and Hillary Rotten’s gross negligence. That’s more than one man should have to bare.” – Tex

Yeah, and now he’s having to do damage control after Issa’s ambition outed a CIA operation.

  50. Weekly claims dropped 30,000 to lowest level since early 2008.

I guess you missed the news. Those number don’t even include all states. 😆 Unemployment is miraculously disappearing – like Obama’s lead – a fart in strong wind.

Did you get my list day before last of 22 reasons why you were wrong? That thread was getting pretty slow.

  51. Is this what you’re talking about?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-19905786

    Compared to this?

Yeah. Obama took credit for Bin Laden and jeopardized national security ion the process. And you find equivalence.

    This debate should be fun.

    Here’s one for you Numbnutz:

  52. “Yeah, and now he’s having to do damage control after Issa’s ambition outed a CIA operation.”

Imagine if Obama hadn’t lied about Benghazi. Just imagine. . . 🙄

  54. Thor’s comments remind of that anecdote about the boy that’s convicted of murdering his parents pleading for mercy on the grounds that he’s an orphan.

  55. Rutherford, The rest of the world cannot walk out their back door without a passport. I just don’t get the big deal over requiring voter ID. Yes, I think you like the idea that up until a few years ago we could travel this vast continent without proving who we are but those days are over. You should have to have a valid ID to even register to vote since you are required to be a citizen of the USA.

As for the rest of your comments, oh my, you are on a roll today! 😆

  56. “Is it true you voted to cut the funding on embassy security?”
“Absolutely.” — Jason Chaffetz, Utah Rep who’s going after Obama admin. Ya just gotta love it.

Do we REALLY want to put a spotlight on EVERYONE who has blood on their hands with this Libya thing?

  57. All those riots just happened to have fallen on 9/11 – sheer coincidence.

The video had been out the better part of two months. Why didn’t the savages riot in July?

We all know the religious leaders used the video to stoke the unrest. In fact the majority of rioters hadn’t seen the video, they were going on the inflammatory remarks of their religious leaders. And yes, 9/11 was the perfect day for these folks to stoke unrest. That still is NOT a terrorist attack in the sense of what happened in Libya. You’re very happily mixing apples and oranges.

  58. So Rutherford, you think Jolting Joe is going to carry the night?

Don’t put words in my mouth. I have NO IDEA how this will go down.

But I will give you a chuckle … I saw a poll today that surprised the crap out of me. Biden has a 50+% disapproval rating. I thought the guy was your “everyman”. I thought he was popular. Ryan in contrast has something like a 40% disapproval. Ryan’s approval rating exceeds Biden’s.

    Color me shocked. 😯

Now let the ridicule begin. I have on my asbestos underpants.

  59. That still is NOT a terrorist attack in the sense of what happened in Libya. You’re very happily mixing apples and oranges.

    Store unrest? 😆 😆 😆

    Yeah, that’s what they did.

  60. Let me amend 101 …. I was not shocked by Ryan’s approval rating. I think he presents very well. This is no dimwit Sarah Palin. Biden ignores Ryan’s prowess at his own risk.

  61. Want me to tell you what Biden will do? He’s hopelessly overmatched, as Bidensico doesn’t know what shoe goes on which foot.

So Joe is going to get nasty while trying to come across as folksy. They’ve been coaching him a week and he’ll still screw it up. But if he can stay on nasty message, all the pundits will call it a draw.

And it won’t matter squat. Should be entertaining TV, though.

It will be a mistake if they’re coaching Ryan to be reverent to the old fool. I’d go for his throat and end it early – but they never do it my way.

  62. Been busy for a long time.

I see Rutherford is coming along fiercely on his tryouts for the Laughing Academy.

I suppose that’s one way to avoid Chris Matthews withdrawals when MNSDNC can no longer ignore his impending psychotic break with reality: get the padded cell next door.

  63. Benghazigate is yet another stain on an adminstration already so tarnished that it will never shine again. The Naked Emperor’s reaction and the Designated Liars will only make this worse. They weren’t “bumps in the road”, they were Americans, and one was an Ambassador…and they were left in the wind by a dithering, incompetent administration more interested in making sure the embassy in Vienna had a full compliment of Government Motors Chevy Dolts in their motorpool.

But at least Downgrade got to party with Beyonce and Jay-Z, because priorities

  64. Where the hell is Gorilla when you need him?

No doubt immersed in Libya. I say that only partly in jest. With all hell breaking loose overseas and G’s sudden absence …. I think it speaks volumes to his credibility that he does indeed have a gov’t job that puts him close to the action. His politics still stink but at least he does for a living what we just flap our lips about.

  65. His politics still stink are rooting in his first-hand knowledge and experience based on what he does but at least he does for a living what we just flap our lips about doesn’t have the luxury of pretending that what should be obvious to anyone paying attention just isn’t so.

    Fixed it for you.

  66. Debbie WS sucks as a spokesperson … I’ve said it time and time again. But she was trying to tell Morgan the difference between lying and being mistaken. They are two different things.

  67. I’ve said it time and time again. But she was trying to tell Morgan the difference between lying and being mistaken.

Of course, the administration can’t credibly claim that it was mistaken, given the warnings and the requests for more security. And sending Hagzilla to massage the lie because even Jay Carney can’t do it with the White House Press Corpse laughing in his face really isn’t an improvement. At the rate they keep digging, the Dems in DC should start brushing up on their mandarin.

  68. Rutherford @#98 “Do we REALLY want to put a spotlight on EVERYONE who has blood on their hands with this Libya thing?”

    Yes.

    That’s the difference between us.

    ~

“but they never do it my way.” -Tex

    😆

    ~
The Rabbit hits on 20 and wins every time.

  69. So, its been awhile, but I’d thought I’d share a thought or two.

Obama and the entire Administration-especially at State- got exposed yesterday. Obama and the rest of the Dems have tried to get this silly meme of Republican budget cuts cost AMB Stevens his life and with one word from the lady in charge of diplomatic security for Libya, all that effort came crashing down. No.

    I’ll bet that stung a little R.

Big Bird has been an epic fail. When PBS is saying, don’t tie us to your sinking ship, you know you’re fucked.

DWS is lying ABOUT being mistaken. R, you don’t tell 5 Sunday news show the same thing verbatim by mistake. I’m telling you, we knew it was a terrorist attack within hours, and that assessment had been pushed to senior Administration leaders immediately. There was no doubt or miscommunication.

Like so many other times, you have been caught, once again, in a bald faced lie. This Administration has been monumentally dishonest with the American people. His legacy is going to be as an abject failure.

  70. The dead man’s mother has requested that he stop it.

I saw the dead man’s mother and she was royally pissed. Said she did “not trust” Mitt Romney. From what I understand, Romney campaign has decided to stop telling the human interest story.

I watched Romney tell one version of the story and it was awkward to say the least. “He didn’t hunker down, he rushed to go help.” OK, is that a comparison to someone who did just hunker down? It was an odd tribute.

Note the last few seconds of this video .. according to Navy Seal’s friend, the dude thought Romney was an ass (my words, not his).

  71. This’ll get your wood up.

Barack Obama’s lackluster debate performance last week has dramatically altered the presidential race in Florida, with Mitt Romney opening up a decisive 7 percentage point lead, according to a new Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9/Miami Herald poll.

The survey conducted this week found 51 percent of likely Florida voters supporting Romney, 44 percent backing Obama and 4 percent undecided. That’s a major shift from a month ago when the same poll showed Obama leading 48 percent to 47 percent — and a direct result of what Obama himself called a “bad night” at the first debate. […]

Likewise, Obama’s lead among likely women voters in Florida fell from 15 percentage points last month to just 2 points, 49 percent for Obama and 47 percent for Romney.

Obama’s once 11 point lead among likely independent voters had cascaded into a 13 point lead for Romney this week, 52 percent to 39 percent.

The poll found little change among Florida youngest voters, 18-34, or oldest voters, 65 and up. But those ages 35 to 64, who had been evenly divided a month ago, moved dramatically to the Republican nominee. Romney now has a nine point lead among voters age 35-49 and a 15 point lead among those between 50 and 64.

Especially ominous were the numbers for Hispanic voters, a demographic where the Obama campaign is banking on an advantage of at least 15 percentage points. The poll showed 44 percent of likely Hispanic voters favoring Obama and 46 for Romney, though the margin of error is higher with that smaller group of voters.

  72. update to 115 … after searching YouTube I need to amend what I said. I thought I saw Doherty’s mother but I think all I saw was her picture while a voice over read her statement.

Just want to be crystal clear.

  73. Tigre liked that fox news link so much he posted it twice …. in the same comment! 🙂 Hey Tigre … see advice I gave Tex about not commenting while drinking and driving. 😉

  74. Now that Fox news post that you drunk posted … Biden didn’t identify the guy. He identified the team. What f*cking nonsense. These are parents grieving over their dead kid and lashing at any convenient target and they get exploited by Fox News.

Fast forward a few years and one of the Seals writes a f*cking book about the whole thing. I wonder what the parents have to say about that.

Pfffft. I’m not impressed. The fact that you are shows how easily you are manipulated by Fox News.

  75. Since when do you check my links? 😆

Sorry man. That titan Obama that took credit for the Bin Laden assassination trumps any mother’s politics. What Romney said was not offensive. Keep stretching.

  76. It’s much ado about nothing anyway, Rutherford. When you look past the sensational pseudo-reporting, it’s a nothing story. The exact quotes attributed to the Navy Seal are wholly unimpressive as criticisms of Romney. And the murdered man’s mom kind of makes Romney look foolish, that’s about it.

  77. I din’t know about the missing numbers so, my bad. Of course, as usual, you choose not to point out the rest of the story. Here it is.

“Such volatility in weekly jobless claims reports due to incomplete data is precisely why economists choose to focus more on four- week averages as an indicator of labor market conditions – a figure that shows signs of improvement, falling by 11,500 to 364,000 jobless claims.

In fact, four-week averages of weekly jobless claims have been on a downward trend since 2009:”

  78. Which still means exactly nothing, as the number of people who have officially dropped out of the labor force is still staggeringly high, and brings the U-6 number to an astonishing 15% real unemployment nationwide.

When fewer people are counted because they have given up, or are no loger getting a check, this isn’t really an “improvement”.

  79. I give it to you Thor. Obama has transformed America – no doubt.

So much so, that millions now celebrate part-time burger flippin’ and hostess job creations as the new norm.

Welcome to the Bongo economy! Good job, Brownie! He’s keeping us all in chains!!!! (in my best Joe Biden choice).

  80. Yeah Thor, you got us. Everything’s going well in the economy and with your boy. 🙄

R, you are so insipid. You made my point about the value of the mother’s comment and are too dense to know it.

    I guess I should thank you. 😆

  81. No shit? That started under Obama?

No, just expanded and institutionalized so employers don’t have all the additional O-care crap to deal with… unless you dig the idea of $18 for a 6oz shrimp cocktail or $15 just for a crab cake the next time you go out to Anthony’s for dinner. And don’t even get me started on the entree’ costs.

  82. “Which still means exactly nothing, as the number of people who have officially dropped out of the labor force is still staggeringly high”- BW

So they cooked the books to create meaningless numbers? Not very savvy, these Kenyan BLS infiltrators.

  83. “Accompanying the State Department officials’ testimony was an areal photo of the U.S. facilities in Benghazi, which one of the officials said was “entirely unclassified.” That is until Rep. Jason Chaffez (R-UT) interrupted testimony to point out that the photo contained secret information. Milbank explains:

In their questioning and in the public testimony they invited, the lawmakers managed to disclose, without ever mentioning Langley directly, that there was a seven-member “rapid response force” in the compound [in Benghazi] the State Department was calling an annex. One of the State Department security officials was forced to acknowledge that “not necessarily all of the security people” at the Benghazi compounds “fell under my direct operational control.”

And whose control might they have fallen under? Well, presumably it’s the “other government agency” or “other government entity” the lawmakers and witnesses referred to; Issa informed the public that this agency was not the FBI.

“Other government agency,” or “OGA,” is a common euphemism in Washington for the CIA. This “other government agency,” the lawmakers’ questioning further revealed, was in possession of a video of the attack but wasn’t releasing it because it was undergoing “an investigative process.”

Milbank noted that the New York Times had previously reported that CIA operatives had been evacuated as a result of the attack, but the paper “withheld locations and details of the facilities at the administration’s request.”

Minutes after Chaffetz’s outburst, committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) ordered the photo be taken down. “Too bad he didn’t think of that before putting the CIA on C-SPAN,” Milbank said.”

  84. BiC, good to see you back.

You missed out. Turns out that Obama’s economic wizardry is really something we should be applauding. Why all those discouraged folks whose benefits ran out had to find part time work Just like we were promised.

  85. “They didn’t cook the books until the last monthly figure was reported. Hilda forgot about that niggling little issue of MATH.” BW

Really? First time ever that a state filed a late or incomplete report to the BLS. Amazing. You guys are jobber truthers? Unbelievable.

  86. Thor, when did liberals become so disgustingly pro establishment?

It’s not some vast and intricate conspiracy. Unemployment numbers are collected in a garbage fashion that allows for manipulation of the reality on the street. This happens to work out nicely considering seasonal part time work coincides with the election cycle. The GOP would be doing the same thing right now. The difference is frauds like you and the rest of the feckless media wouldn’t be drinking the Kool Aid and, instead, suddenly fighting the good fight for the “the little guy”.

Easy fix. If a motherfucker is working part time and wants a full time job, he’s unemployed.

If someone simply runs out of unemployment benefits, he’s still unemployed.

Going on disability for the rest of your life is a horrendous thing for the economy, not some freakenomics that help pad unemployment numbers.

You are a fan boy. I will not be you if Romney wins. Repeat. I will not be you if Romney wins.

  87. Six minutes of VP debate is all I could take. Three observations.
Ryan: lose the sad puppy face and stop drinking water.
moderator: Die you useless stupid bitch.
Biden: What a petty fuck-tard. I was tempted to watch more just to see how long it took scrappy from scranton to drop an f -bomb. His appeals tot he people….hilarious.

  88. I don’t see anything wrong with the moderation so far. I am skeptical because apparently, out of the entire population of Americans, only the bride of a wedding that Obama attended would suffice. But….she seems ok.

Pretty boring. Constantly switching to Verlander.

  89. My wife and sister in law are disgusted by him. My sister in law is apolitical has it comes. They just can’t stand him.

  90. The maniacal laugh while Ryan talks is killing him with normal people.

I love Biden’s somber quite voice. Dude’s stick reminds me of a bad soap opera villain.

  91. Biden has turned this into a circus…I don’t even know what think of this.

I’m just laughing at Biden. I don’t even remember what they’ve talked about because Biden is so hot and cold. He goes from mad man to stark depression in seconds.

All I know is this. Joe Biden is certainly not Presidential material.

  92. liberal and conservative are subjective concepts. In my opinion, Andrew Sulivan is a liberal though he may claim to be a conservative.

Biden is winning points with smirks, interruptions and a loud voice which sometimes overwhelm Ryan when he presents his views.Biden is acting almost like an uncle, and he is probably trying to be an antidote to Obama in the last debate.

At last as the budget discussion continues, Ryan finally finishes a thought, in spite of Martha’s telling him his time is up. I have enjoyed the debate.

  93. The debate killed me. I did my American duty and watched. Tigers up 2 to zip. I have no idea how they scored. Post season baseball gives stresses me way too much. I need to get a life.

  94. Yeah. I agree. This debate, if anything, will be a net loss for Obama simply because Biden such a strange, strange man.

  95. Joe Biden was Obama’s truck with a 6″ lift and 31″ mudders trying to overcompensate for Obama’s little dick performance. If a debate was measured in who could get louder, bully and point fingers at the moderator, repeat the same distortions hoping if he could say it 5 times that it would be true, Biden was the clear victor. I think what we saw from Biden was a fear response, lashing out and lashing out. That is why he was rude and kept interrupting.

Ryan was indeed more genuine and more thoughtful. He made his points in a much more civilized manor, despite being interrupted over and over, he maintained his composure. On a believability scale, sincerity scale, on facts, Ryan won hands down, and did so with class. Can you imagine Biden as a diplomat?

  96. Biden was something between village idiot and soccer hooligan. I can’t believe what I just watched. If that is what sells in America as debate, we’re already cooked.

I don’t know about you guys, but the women I’m conversing with now are equally amazed – and that crap doesn’t sell with women.

Smirking and laughing during a topic of abortion and Iran? Are you kidding me. This is the “new” strategy.

  97. Biden reminds me of a bad actor playing a politician from the Tammany Hall political machine. The fake blue collar thing is hilarious. Y’all gonna be put back in chains!

  98. Biden’s laugh will be the story of this debate tomorrow morning. On the one hand, it’s seems so trite to criticize him on that…..but then who the hell acts that way on national television? So weird, man.

  99. A ch 3 Omaha twitter poll shows Ryan 49 and Biden 29 with 22% undecided. Biden dominated the debate, but his smirks hurt him. Both sides are probably satisfied with the results.

  100. The old buzzard switches emotional extremes on a dime. Waterboarding cannot be as bad as that sotto voice he slithers into. *shudder*

Nice manners. Obie has not been a good influence.

  101. Muffy,

I’ve never heard a bigger phony than Joe Biden, with possibly the exception of Al Gore on the political stage. I joke about Barack Obama being a used car salesman? But I really, really mean it with Joe Biden. I’ve literally heard clowns like that sell pieces of crap on a car lot with the same demeanor, the same message.

I can see Joe walking back with an offer in hand to the back office while tell you about his fishing trip and dynamite kids while you wait. Maybe even slipping a “pussy joke” when your wife isn’t listening.

If people were as old as I am, they would have told you that 35 years ago that Joe Biden is a joke.

The debate probably did nothing. The moderator lost complete control. I don’t what she was doing. But I don’t think this performance is going to go over well after a few days.

Ryan was smart just to stay composed.

  102. Watching the debate a second time, the more I look at Biden, the more I get that creepy relative feeling. That guy who is a little too insistent on wanting to baby sit your kids. I just do not trust this guy.

  103. Biden was like the anti-Obama, or something. Bet you ten to a donut, after a couple of days, that condescending, smarmy slime isn’t going to sell very well to undecided voters, if it sells at all.

Smarmy sells on MSNBC so I expect the hard core base like Rutherford to be flying high, not recognizing this was Gore sighing, Bush looking at his watch. Smarmy and patronizing doesn’t sell well most places.

And Biden just “emptied” the gotcha holster. You can only use the 47% once and Obama would have been far more effective making the delivery.

  104. “The difference is frauds like you and the rest of the feckless media wouldn’t be drinking the Kool Aid and, instead, suddenly fighting the good fight for the “the little guy”.” DR

Really? I don’t ever recall ever saying the unemployment numbers were fixed. Ever. You guys are loons.

    Biden won.

My favorite part was when Ryan was whining about the stimulus and Joe said then why did you send two letters asking for the money, saying it would create jobs and growth. Total hypocrite.

  105. Most people with a working understanding of our government know it is his job to secure money for his district. It is his job to ask for that money despite any personal political misgivings. The money would be spent whether he asked for it or not.

  106. Biden won.

Not what most of the flash polls say. CNBC had it Ryan 56%-36%, CBS Biden 50%-31%, CNN Ryan 48%-44%, AP Ryan 51%-43%.

Predict it will look far worse in a few days when the Biden jokes start kicking in.

It sells with the lickspittle Obama crowd like you – so what. You’ve been in the tank for Obama since 2004. Nothing is going to change that. But apparently not anybody else – worse, women were turned off by Biden in large margins.

But then, you’ve misjudged everything else since you appeared here. No sense turning back now. 😉

  107. Total hypocrisy? Let me see if I get this straight. Taxpayers pay into the system. They disagree with the path the President has chosen.

Therefore, since they disagree with the redistribution methods, they’re entitled to no distribution, even when they paid a substantial share into it? I don’t think so.

Does this mean shareholders who vote against dividend reinvestment instead of a dividend, don’t deserve their shares that were reinvested upon the sale?

Let me give you a great example of real hypocrisy. Joe Biden. Let me count the ways tonight. Here’s a simple one:

Vice President Joe Biden stated that Ryan, as a member of Congress, had voted for a blank check for two wars. Correct? Scolded him about a possible war.

Guess who also voted to go to war with Afghanistan and Iraq and continues to provide a blank check for Afghanistan?

  108. Tex, that’s one of the reasons Thor likes the stimulus. You have to kiss the ring finger of Joe Biden after your state gets some of it. Its political stimulus, too. Once the stimulus is passed, all states who receive any kind of cash must have Congressmen who forever remain mum about Federal spending. In fact Tex, get down on your knees and kiss Thor’s hand. It was all about power from the start. Bow down to the Spokane Dandy. Prince of the establishment.

  109. DR @ 178. I sent that to everyone on my “conservatives” mailing list. We are well and truly screwed. No doubt about it. And people wonder why the Chinese and everybody else is eating our lunch for us…our populace is as dumb as owl shit.

  110. Rabbit, Verlander is the best pitcher in baseball, I don’t care what the records. Best pitcher I’ve seen in 10-15 years, minus Mario. When Verlander is on, he is almost unhittable.

Watched the games after the debate last night. This is the time of year, I actually start watching baseball. Fun to watch a guy like that.

    Wicked stuff.

  111. Reading through the headlines this morning, I’m reminded after reading all these “fact checkers:”

“The work of the “fact checkers” is opinionated while pretending to be impartial, and it is intellectually shoddy.” ~ James Taranto

The media has lost such credibility, they’ve had to remake themselves under different title of FACT CHECK to remain relevant.

It insults the senses that they think we’re this stupid not to notice.

  112. “Biden won.”

Indeed. Biden’s winning smile was a big hit with women. Of course with this booming economy and his boss’s badass takedown of Romney last week, Biden needed only to protect their overwhelming lead among informed voters and smart women.

  113. Been busy for a long time.

If that’s the best you can do with a comment BiW, perhaps you should stay busy. Your clients are no doubt better served than your readers. 😉

  114. Thanks Rutherford.Have you been able to read Betsy’s Page?

Biden and even Radditz (SP) tag teamed Ryan, and sometimes the interruptions overwhelmed his answers.

Suppose a man accosts you in a bar. You let him hit you in front of witnesses. Then, you call the police and press charges.

Winning takes many forms. I think as Tex wrote, Ryan will win because of Biden’s behavior. We saw a respectful younger man and an old bully. At least Biden let Democrats feel good about themselves.

  115. The picture of gross incompetence by the myth of the Cult of Obama and our foreign policy unravel before our eyes. Hillary Rotten Clinton should be terminated immediately.

  116. Damn it Tex. I thought I had posted that to Numbnutz, but I accidentally double posted another vid. I now see that Rutherford apparently likes that.

Gee Thor. I see no one has apologized to this Mom and promised to be more respectful. Juts push your VP out there to lie about having no advance info on the threat later at the debates.

You and R actually support this group of inept, blame-casting, pussies? Pathetic. 😆

  117. Oh, I forgot to mention my favorite. Biden repeatedly saying ‘you guys need to take responsibility’…

    hahahahahahahahahahahahah.

    What a knee-slapper.

The soundbites to be used against Obama are so numerous it’s going to be hard choosing which ones not to use.

  118. “America comes together: GOP and Democrats both thrilled with Biden’s debate performance.”

“Biden did what he had to do last night: audition for a 5pm slot at MSNBC in January.” 😆 😆 😆

    -IH

  119. PBS ran a documentary about the sinking of The Estonia in 1994. This administration is sinking like that ferry because until now it battled phantoms of its and the press’s creation.

Now that Romney and Ryan have shown themselves not to be the fanatics their enemies created, the center fails.time will tell if Biden was debating his political executioner last night, and one can hope. Good times.

  120. “Biden won.”

True, He IS the ugliest Kewpie doll. And it goes bone-deep.

What really convinced you Thor? The 82 times he interrupted Ryan? The fact that he was stuck in CAPS LOCK most of the evening? The endless parade of repulsive smirks? The command of facts that aren’t? The masterful way he banged on the table like an angry thirsty toddler with an empty sippy cup? Or that dual-minded nonsense about his faith, and why its ok for Government to spend our money killing children without the same due process given to Mumia or Jerry Sandusky?

If you’re proud of that performance, then you are beyond the reach of logic and reason.

  121. What Romney said was not offensive. Keep stretching.

I didn’t make up the mother’s quote. You go tell HER that what Romney said wasn’t offensive. I hope she punches you in the mouth.

  122. “I didn’t make up the mother’s quote. You go tell HER that what Romney said wasn’t offensive. I hope she punches you in the mouth.”

And I didn’t say that “SHE” wasn’t offended (or playing as though she were). I said what Romney said was not offensive. Is that too subtle for you? Perhaps the Mom being lied to by your heroes about Benghazi would like to swing a punch herself.

You’re having a bad day because your boys are idiots. Go for a walk or something.

  123. Labor participation rate? Who cares? 😆

I was going to ignore this section of the comment stream but your ignorance demands a response.

The very thing that has conservative panties in a knot is that this latest figure is NOT accompanied by a large labor force drop out rate. So conservatives can’t make their usual easy claim about why the lower unemployment rate is there. Hence the need to grasp at conspiracy straws.

Keep spinning. Most Americans think the economy is improving. That might not get Obama reelected but it can’t hurt.

  124. Why all those discouraged folks whose benefits ran out had to find part time work

They COULD find part time work which is better than an economy in which they can’t.

    You’re an ass.

  125. You guys are jobber truthers? Unbelievable.

Thor, as I wrote earlier, when I first heard this dumbass conspiracy theory I thought to myself “well at least my merry band of knuckleheads will not fall for this one.”

I grossly overestimated their intelligence. Or I grossly underestimated their political cravenness. You decide.

  126. “They COULD find part time work which is better than an economy in which they can’t.”

Yeah. Thank God for Obama. We could’ve been even worse off. Great job. Duh.

  127. Oh I left this out … they also trust all the folks that they have the delusion of being one day … while the truth of their declining middle class existence stares them in the face … and they duck their reality by hating on poor people. 😦

  128. We could’ve been even worse off.

Yes … why is that a point you refuse to acknowledge? You’re like some Debbie Downer who loses the leg to cancer and wants to spend more time bitching about the lost leg than celebrating being alive.

Things aren’t good enough yet. They are marginally better. They will continue to improve … perhaps slowly. It’s just hilarious to see all the geniuses on this board who think they can do a better job.

  129. What institutions do you guys trust? Are there any?

    Marriage. Heterosexual.

LOL then we really have to reexamine your trust threshold. Marriage. Heterosexual. 50% Failure rate. 👿

  130. “They COULD find part time work which is better than an economy in which they can’t.”

Yeah. I mean, once Obamacare fully kicks in, most jobs will become part-time, so I guess that makes him the biggest job creator in reacent memory. We’ll all be able to hoist a cup of ramen noodles to that resounding success, even if we can no longer afford a home to eat it in, and wiull be riding the bus to work.

SUCCESS! Not everyone can take one of biggest engines of personal wealth creation the world has ever known and break it so completely while reducing personal expectations so skillfully at the same time. How fortunate we all are!

  131. Unemployment numbers are collected in a garbage fashion that allows for manipulation of the reality on the street. This happens to work out nicely considering seasonal part time work coincides with the election cycle.

Rabbit, that is actually a reasonable statement. It is NOT equivalent to what Hack Welch tweeted and what the Jobbers are yammering about.

  132. moderator: Die you useless stupid bitch.

Sorry Alfie I beg to differ. The perfect moderator is somewhere between Lehrer and Raddatz but Raddatz beat Lehrer hands down. Since you bailed early, you didn’t see her nail Ryan to the wall on the tax cuts. THAT would really have made you call her a beeeyotch. 🙂

  133. Moderator? Worthless.

    ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

If Ryan had been the clear winner you all would want to get in line to spit shine Martha’s shoes. But since it was at best a tie, the moderator MUST suck.

I’ve only read two debate comments so far and I can’t wait to read the rest …

    PA
    THET
    IC

    😆 😆 😆 😆

  134. Clearly worried Biden didn’t sell.

You are such an utterly brainless dweeb. The folks at MSNBC were sincerely JUMPING FOR JOY and quite sure that Biden rescued Obama from obliteration.

Don’t try to interpret the feelings of people you don’t like. It usually doesn’t work. As you’ve pointed out repeatedly, I spend WAY too much time watching these folks and I’m damn more qualified than you to measure their enthusiasm.

  135. Ryan didn’t have a meltdown. Competent.

ROTFLMAO!!!! Now THERE’S a rave review! I thought I read “Palin” but when I looked again, it said “Ryan”. 😆

You suck as a salesman Tigre. Truth is Ryan was a bit better than competent.

  136. The moderator lost complete control.

What planet do you live on? The moderator controlled the debate 10 times better than Lehrer did. In fact, I think she may have been too controlling.

  137. My favorite part was when Ryan was whining about the stimulus and Joe said then why did you send two letters asking for the money, saying it would create jobs and growth. Total hypocrite.

Thor that was classic … but for me, even better was the righteous anger in Joe’s lecture on the 47% (or in Ryan’s case the 30% of “takers”). How dare these pampered f*cks cast aspersions on most of their countrymen and then turn around and pretend to be “pro-America” and great patriots.

What Biden said about the 47% was what we were all longing for last week from asleep-at-the-wheel Obama.

  138. Indeed. Biden’s winning smile was a big hit with women. Of course with this booming economy and his boss’s badass takedown of Romney last week, Biden needed only to protect their overwhelming lead among informed voters and smart women.

    Your sarcasm is unbecoming.

  139. He won’t find any relief in the analysis I just put up.

BiW … I never look for “relief” at your blog. On the contrary, I often need relief after a visit. 😐

  140. 220 is human nature Rutherford. I’ve seen it happen. If as you write the middle class loses enough money and sinks economically, they will naturally as a group turn against each other and poor people to get more of the dwindling resourses for themselves.

If as I believe may happen, the administration unravels, its members in the same way will turn on each other. We saw a sample of that when Biden pushed Hillary toward the edge of the boat.

With the exception of the liberals, many other folks gave Ryan the victory because of Biden’s behavior. Biden with occasional help from Radditz cut off Ryan’s comments or rendered them less effective as he called attention to himself. Ryan didn’t have time to call Biden on his lies very often because Radditz moved the discussion on or Biden interupted.

I agree with you Obama’s attending Martha’s wedding had little effect on her behavior. In fact since we all knew about it, she might have felt constrained to prove she was unbiased. Unfortunately, her natural instincts took over and she still favored Biden, though not as much as she might have.

I agree with you, if anything Martha exerted too much control, and I agree the debate was a tie. If Ryan wins, and I think he will, it will because of the perception that Biden is a bully overwhelming a polite young man. Had Romney debated we would have watched a donnybrook.

Now, that I have helped support some of your views I want something from you. What do you think of Betsy’s Page? Forget the conservative fascist stuff. I know her political views. I want to know what you think of her reasoning powers, the validity of her links, etc.

  141. Now that I’ve read through all the comments, here’s the real deal.

As I tweeted last night after the debate, both sides did exactly what they needed to do for their base. So on those grounds it was a tie.

    As for the undecided voter:

During the first question on Libya, I’m looking at the split screen and seeing Joe smiling during Ryan’s comments and I’m aghast. I paused the TiVo and said to my wife “that does NOT look good”. You don’t smile while a deadly grave topic is being discussed.

Once I realized that “the smile” was going to be his tactic for the entire show, I had to figure it was his best way of telegraphing “Ryan, you’re a f*cking liar”. Now we have to ask, is that the best message to telegraph? Cathartic for me, but perhaps not helpful to the undecided.

I don’t think the facial expressions lost him the debate … and in fact given a choice between Biden’s “what a maroon” smile and Obama’s “I want to commit suicide” demeanor, I’d have to choose Biden. I think we can all agree these are style points.

On substance: on Libya, Biden’s only good rejoinder was that the House voted to not fund greater security. Clear message: Paul you’re in a glass house dude, put down the stone. BUT … Libya is a clusterf*ck right now. Biden could not have won that exchange. I’ve got more to say on the politicization of Libya in another comment.

    On the 47% … a friggin bullseye.
On the stimulus and Ryan’s faux outrage about it .. bullseye.
On the tax break ….another bullseye, with Raddatz adding a great knife twist with her “so, no specifics?” Gotta love it!!!!
On abortion … a bullseye so long as you truly understand what it is to be pro-choice. Biden could not have explained it better. One’s private choices on a private matter should NOT be imposed on other people. Biden expressed it perfectly.

Ryan’s quip about Joe’s foot-in-mouth disease was a nice rejoinder on the 47% torpedo but ultimately ineffective. Romney didn’t mis-speak. He deliberately said reprehensible sh*t to reprehensible people to get their vote. Again … Biden won that exchange hands down.

The other very effective device used by Biden was the constant reference to his own experience. Made Ryan look even more like an amateur. “You got a criticism of Libya … I am in the center of it and I KNOW how we’re handling it … you’re just throwing stones.” On Reagan … “you can talk about Reagan … I WAS THERE.” Again, damn effective.

Bottom line, Joe is not a subtle character, You either love Joe or you hate him. Ryan was respectful, appeared intelligent and thoughtful. I don’t think he alienated anyone last night.

So again … all things considered, a tie. And a definite slowing of Obama’s bleeding.

Now Obama needs to step up next Tuesday. A town hall is his baby. He loves playing to the crowd. Mitt gets awkward in front of crowds. I don’t expect a repeat of the “Disaster in Denver”.

  142. How this election has changed Rutherford. Day by day as the election grows closer, we see the real Rutherford. As time passes he attacks more, and reasons less. Rutherford is desperate. That is why you see him go half a day or more without posting, but as soon as he sees something he can jump on, he has diarrhea of the post. Once upon a time he commented on each post in order. As the election draws near, he now sits on his perch sniping, cherry picking only those he thinks he can twist to his advantage.

I can see why Martin Luther King was a Republican. Being the visionary he was I am sure he saw what the Democrat Party would turn into one day.

Any reasonable person knows, real unemployment is a measure of who is not working, Period! Who knew Ribbed for Rutherfords pleasure was Obama’s condom of choice? Little else could explain Rutherford’s blind devotion.

The fact Rutherford spends all his time muddying the waters with what unemployment is tells me he could give a shit about blacks or the poor. Any self respecting person who cared for his culture would be enraged at black unemployment in his country. Do you see even one post dedicated to the plight of the black community? Do you see one post talking about how the poor are suffering? No. You just see post after post of Rutherford insulting and being condescending to anyone who doesn’t fall in line.

Isn’t it funny the guy who distorts the 47% comment, whines and cries about those who he imagines will lose their insurance if Obamacare is repealed, cannot be bothered to count the millions that have run out of benefits?

  143. R, Thor…I’m telling you. Biden repulsed every independent or apolitical person that happened to tune in. If you don’t know why, you two are some real strange rangers. Again, Biden’s behavior was so odd that any person not already emotionally vested in your hobby of defending the status quo was creeped out.

  144. I come home last night after a long day and the wife has it on ABC. SO I watch the debate and then listen to the ABC news commentary. If you missed it, and you were wondering what ABC had to say, read post 236. It was parroted quite accurately.

  145. The Obama campaign is still hemoraging. Biden may have slowed the bleeding, but he failed to stop it. Romney will be less diffident than Obama, and Obama had better not try to become as trucklent as Biden. Obama is no Joe.

  146. By Kristine Caldwell’s account of Barry Obama in their Punahou School years, he was “normal”, that is, ordinary. There was nothing extraordinary about him: Neither a brilliant intellect nor a great athlete nor even a hardworking student, he displayed nothing that would lead his classmates to mark him as “most likely to succeed.” Despite his mediocrity, young Barry imagined himself to be uniquely special, claiming he was an Indonesian prince to some and, to others, a Kenyan royalty. Earlier, while young Barry was still living in Indonesia, he had proclaimed he wanted to be the country’s prime minister when he grows up.

But the reality is neither his Indonesian stepfather, nor his (alleged) Kenyan father Barack Hussein Obama Sr., nor his (rumored) real biological father Frank Marshall Davis, was royalty.

In this, however, Barry was special and unique: He was/is a pathological narcissist, with a grandiose sense of self-importance, from the beginning. In 2008, he even managed to con millions of Americans and millions more across the world that he was their king and messiah.

I guess he really is a Messiah, who knew?

    http://fellowshipofminds.wordpress.com/2012/10/12/obama-told-hawaii-classmates-he-was-kenyanindonesian-royalty/

  147. Rabbit,

Let Rutherford and Thor think they won the night. 😈 Good grief.

I listened to radio most of the day as I was driving, and instead of tuning to Rush, Hannity, etc…, I listened to AM radio – in New Mexico and Colorado stations mostly. Small town America.

People were aghast at Biden’s behavior. One caller after another was blasting Biden as disgraceful and embarrassing. Most of the comments either centered on rude and unprofessional, or deranged. Rutherford is going to find out the hard way, that performance last night was more damaging than anything Obama could have done. Let a few days pass and we’ll see if MSNBC believes they are really representative.

Let’s not kid ourselves. For four years, we’ve been dealing with a weasel, a cheat and a fool. Rutherford is a hack with a complete misread of America. Remember, this is a man that was so stupid, he predicted the Republicans were going the way of the Whigs. Two years later, his party was virtually destroyed in one night. What did he learn? How to double down on stupid.

Then the moron is stupid enough to laugh at the failure of marriage. Look at the black community? An zoo because of the failure of marriage. And like Biden laughing at nuclear war, Rutherford laughs at.his own race going the way of the dodo. Rutherford has lost his mind as he can’t admit Obama isn’t a mediocre President. He’s an abortion.

Does that sound like a man that has a “pulse” on America? The economy is getting better? ** GUFFAW ** Biden’s abortion answer was spot on? Then Biden has the unmitigated gall to call himself Catholic? It’s time the Catholic Bishops either shit or get off the pot and quit mealy mouthing. Excommunicate the bum or turn your faith into a joke. Biden is a heretic and should not be allowed to see the inside of a parish again.

    This election is about over.

  148. Noah, it was beautiful. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched it in a row. 😆

I don’t care who this offends. You spit on someone, boy or girl, you deserve to have your chin split.

  149. I have no problem with what he did. There was no way he could continue driving without endangering everyone. She attacked him and got what was coming to her. You have to admit that was one hell of an upper cut.

  150. The State Department showed satalite photos which revealed the location of the abandoned base.

Your link didn’t work for me but I think you’ve got this wrong. A Republican House Rep (I think it was Chaffetz) showed the photo and got slapped on the ass by Darrel Issa for it. Am I confusing two different events?

P.S. I’ve got Betsy’s Page loaded up in my browser and I’ll take a peek tomorrow. I’m assuming the name of her web site is a play on the 1950’s (or 40’s) pin-up girl Bettie Page?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bettie_Page

  151. re: bus driver punches out female.

I had nearly the same experience in about 1990. Our chief technician and I had some serious problems, and during a particular meeting she used every opportunity to insult me – personal stuff, nothing to do with the problem at hand. It was really out of hand, and the administrator never said a thing, clearly enjoying the situation.

Finally, I slowly stood up and walked to her chair. People were going, “Dr. W, calm down, now. Calm down, etc.” I bent down and put my nose about an inch from hers, but being very careful to touch her.

In a low voice, but loud enough for everyone to hear, I said, “Diane, I have never laid a hand on a woman in my life, and I never will; I have too much respect for MYSELF to ever do that. But there are men out there who don’t feel that way, and if you keep acting like a man, some day some man will treat you like one.”

I took my seat; never raising my voice or showing the slightest annoyance. One of the toughest things I ever did, because I wanted to plant a roundhouse kick on the side of her head more than anything I have ever done.

Funny now; not very funny back then. Incidentally, she eventually was fired for insubordination. LOL.

  152. Sorry the link didn’t work Rutherford. The article said the State Department put up the satalite pictures, and no one realized their significance
at first.Democrats asked leading questions which some
republicans said were moving into secret territory. The Republicans tried to get them to stop’ Now, both sides are blaming the other for revealing the secret. I understand why you might have only one side of the story because it is how the media operates.

The CIA is angry because they don’t want to be involved in national politics.

Another writer wrote that the first person to report that an intelligence base was involved was Glen Beck through the Blaze.
    of that
Mayhbe Betsyh name is a play on words I hadn’t thought

you can see why i don’t post links as much as i should. the computerjumps all over the placel. I am upmbecause mofma heavy thunderstormk, a good birthday gift considering our m

    drouth.

  153. Rutherford, I usually use google instead of links If you google Reutors “U:S intelligence set back when the Libya base was abandoned.” you will find the article.

  154. The dog ate my last comment, so to recap: James, eBay has lots of Macs for sale at really good prices, and they don’t have the problems you describe. Not expensive, and should solve your computer difficulties permanently.

  155. Rutherford links to the bottom feeders of the Left, deluded enough to believe boorish behavior a big hit. That sells with the dregs of the universe which he runs – maybe 20% of the country – the worst of the worst – the lowest of the low. The Gawker crowd that specializes in taking pictures of high school girl crotches and posting them on the web. 😈

What’s more alarming is this supposed Harvard graduate relishes in it. Tells you about the real character outside the blog box, hey?

Boy, do I hope Obama repeats that Biden performance Tuesday night. We’ll put a fork in this election.

    On a personal note:

No wonder the country is screwed up when you’ve got people like Biden in the V.P. position, more fitting of a Jerry Springer show audience member. Crude and unrefined but the supposed leader of the free world.

The man is a disgrace to both to country and self.

Can you imagine what the rest of the industrialized world must think of the Obama regime now? They sure did restore the “respect for America”, huh? 😆

No wonder they get played on the national stage time after time. No wonder four people begging for protection lost their lives, while the President jetted out to Vegas and San Fran.

Really want your children growing up in Barack & Biden’s idea of respected America? Better think about it.

    I sure don’t.

  156. James, if you want a very nice setup and don’t take Pfesser’s suggestion, you can buy a really nice HP All-in-One Computer for less than $500.00.

I purchased a little more expensive model with a 23″ screen and never left the comfort of my office, complete with a three year in house warranty for $800.00.

Everything is wireless (both mouse and keyboard), takes two minutes to set up, comes with Windows 7 (the best OS Microsoft has produced in 20 years), and has performed flawlessly over the last six months.

The screen is fantastic. I actually liked it better than my daughter’s Mac (med school daughter) that we paid closed to $2,000 for.

  157. Here’s a MacBook Pro liveried exactly like the one I have been using on this blog for three years now.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Macbook-Core-Duo-13-2-0Ghz-2GB-160GB-MA255LL-A-A1181-52-/230864496321?pt=Apple_Laptops&hash=item35c098a6c1

It’ll cost you about $350, you can take it everywhere – which I do mine – and of course, no crashes or viruses to deal with and no necessity to subscribe to an antiviral service. And if you want to print something, just plug the printer in and it prints.

re: Windows 7. My son does games and says Win 7 is by far the most stable and best that Microsoft has ever done, whatever that means…

  158. Regarding the VP debates, the right did a lot of Biden bashing and the left were giving him HF’s. Neither side was spending a whole lot of time discussing Ryan. The moderator actually got more comments, negative and positive than Ryan.

This debate was a waste of time and money as far as the issues go but then the whole campaign has been a waste of time and money. Six billion dollars down the tube to watch comedy central without the comedians.

  159. The only time Obama looks relaxed and natural is when he is stumping on the campaign trail. The only time Romney looks relaxed and natural is when he is behind closed doors at a private function.

A POTUS spends more time behind closed doors than he does going “door to door”

  160. You don’t have to convince my kids of Mac superiority, Pfesser. My daughters think I’m a dud for not switching over. 😀

I told them old habits are hard to break – I’ve been using PCs for 31 years, and even understand the operating system that is at its foundation.

I mean how many of us don’t want to type copy /b *.exe combin.exe? I know more useless, out of date, obsolete, antiquated bits of information than my children know period.

I did use a Mac way back in the early 90s for a time.

The technology is amazing anymore. So good ironically, I think it has actually made a large chunk of our population even more stupid, if that possible.

  161. Interesting observation:

“Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength,” the longshoreman cum philosopher Eric Hoffer once observed. Hoffer died in 1983, so he probably wasn’t referring specifically to Joe Biden’s performance in last night’s debate. Still, the observation is fitting.

In addition to the vice president’s boorishness, a lot of observers noted that he frequently smiled and chuckled at inappropriate times–even during a discussion of Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. The Republican National Committee quickly put out an ad consisting of nearly a minute of such clips followed by the caption: “Vice President Biden is laughing . . . Are you?” If Biden finds himself out of work in January, he may have a career ahead of him as a Fixodent pitchman.

So what’s with Dr. Strangelaugh? Let’s ask an evolutionary biologist. . . . A smile is an instinctive gesture of submission. Often the submission is mutual, as when two friends exchange smiles or when Maestripieri’s strangers break into small talk on the elevator. But when a man uncontrollably smiles at a potential or actual adversary, it is a show of weakness. That isn’t necessarily to say that Paul Ryan dominated Biden, although there is no question Ryan demonstrated self-control where Biden utterly lacked it. As some commentator or other (probably several of them) observed before the debate, Biden’s assigned task was to “right the ship” after the Barack Obama disaster. Since the ship has a titanic design flaw–a gaping O-shaped hole right in the hull–that was an impossible task. Biden had ample reason to find the situation intimidating. 😆

And so he overcompensated for his weakness by acting the bully in an attempt to dominate Ryan. His behavior was not only consistent with Hoffer’s aphorism but in sharp contrast with that of Mitt Romney, who actually did dominate Obama in a coolly masterful way. If Biden’s rudeness was an imitation of strength, Romney’s poise was a display of the real thing. ~ James Taranto

  162. I can’t believe that punch didn’t knock her out. I read that she was spitting on him when he was driving. When I was a teacher in a female juvenile prison that was my daily routine. Everyday. And I didn’t get it as bad as some of the others. There is nothing worse then an out of control black female teenager. Too bad that dude lost his job.

  163. Thanks for the computer suggestions. I will write them and see what we can find in Best Buy and other stores. Our old desk top has been working again, but I still use the lap top an e friend gave us, because my wife uses the computer sometimes, and it was easier to use the lap top during the past month because I was in a lot of pain. Now, that I’ve gotten used to watching TV and using the computer, I still have been using the lap top. She quit using the computer in 2005.

We were told we should wait for Windows 8, now some including a local computer talk show host say we should buy Windows 7 before it is discontinued in late October.

I like Eric Hoffer’s writing. He was once called the long shoreman philosopher.

It is possible that Biden was trying to goad Ryan into lashing out at him in the same way one could deal with a jerk in a bar. Let him hit you. Then press charges.

  164. One can google Hot Air, Paul Ryan and the Tax Man or find a link with Michele Malkin’s site linked to Drudge. The writer discusses the lies and misinformation associated with the debate tax discussion.

Biden cited a study to prove that Romney wants a five trillion dollar tax cut, but two AEI scholars made the opposite case. The author wrote that both sides are missing an important point-behavioral prediction.

The campaigns had little to show for all of the money spent because an immovable object met an unstoppable force. The Republicans are leading right now, but one debate misstep could change everything.

  165. @ James if you go for a Mac don’t go any lower/earlier than Snow Leopard for an OS.

@ Rutherford & Thor I find your grousing over Paul Ryan and the $timulus stuff to be dishonest partisan crap.
Ryan was consistent in being against the stimulus bill just as he was consistent in being a representative for entities in his district.
I somehow doubt either of you would expect or respect your Congress Critter if they failed to provide you with service. For fucks sake you two morons have critters that fund military actions regardless of your or their moral reservations. Same freaking thing!

His famed letters to the Energy Dept on behalf of two WI businesses were a service to those that elected him. These two companies were green energy in nature and in a naive way Ryan thought there may indeed be job benefits.(supposedly up to over 7k!)
Well the stimulus that Ryan was indirectly involved in are failures. They created no more than 200 jobs and on a per job basis astronomical. There long term advantages are also questionable. Geo thermal pump technology exists outside of WI and putting more insulation in a home….well that just doesn’t save the planet or Treasury, does it?

  166. A follow up of sorts regards this election and some of the chasm between folks like R& Thor and myself.
Here in MA you have the Brown v Warren Senate race. If you strip away everything and get down to the point that the Senate seat is ours and all that that means you HAVE to vote Scott Brown.
Our elected officials are supposed to be faced with the dilemma of voting for or against stuff that goes against their personal views when We the People want it.
There it is. Rutherford and company seem not to mind Nanny and in fact systematically relinquish their rights and freedoms to alleged elites “who know better”. It seems to be only a rare occasion when R gets an honest passion on.(his kids education a good ex.)
Perhaps you’re tired old boy,I wish you well.

  167. @ James keep in mind that another aspect of any tax cut is the reality of it. What I mean by that is that there are those that truly believe a tax cut costs the government money. This is the wrong headed thinking that has helped to get us where we are today.

  168. 273
That has been my point about Rutherford’s comments for ages. “Bush’s tax cuts that were not paid for.” Like it was the governments money in the first place.

I think Biden did make an error he will pay for personally. Throwing the Justice Department under the bus like he did I have a feeling will come to haunt them. Much like a cook at a restaurant, you never want to piss off the intelligence community.

Also worthy of note as I watched the debate again, Biden trashes the intelligence community, saying basically they failed to provide intelligence and failed to ask for more help, then the very next question on Iran, says “we will KNOWif they are developing a weapon”, as if our intelligence community is infallible. He cannot have it both ways here.

  169. I agree Alfie. When ever I hear tax cuts cost the government money I remember the history of the feudal age when everything belonged to the king and vassals kept what they had at his pleasure.

Thanks for the Mac, snow leopard suggestion. My wife is familiar with Mac computers from teaching in high school.

We are leaving to celebrate my birthday in Omaha. There is a slight chance of more severe weather, a nice gift. Our daughter asked what I wanted for my birthday, and I couldn’t think of anything except my mother’s sugar cookies.

  170. The technology is amazing anymore. So good ironically, I think it has actually made a large chunk of our population even more stupid, if that possible.

I’m starting to think this is true also.

We were driving back from the airport last night, and my oldest son was wondering aloud about when Sputnik 2 came back to Earth.

I reached in my shirt pocket and handed my smartphone back to him. Then he was getting mad when he was looking at the Wikipedia article about it, because he still couldn’t find the date. He handed it to my wife who found it in three seconds.

Kid doesn’t appreciate the sheer volume of knowledge at his fingertips and can’t skim an article to save his life.

For those who’ve actually read C.M. Kornbluth, I fear we will live to see the age of “The Marching Morons” and “the Little Black Bag”.

  171. Is throwing Hillary and Rice under the bus really a good move? Bill can still do some damage. Obama’s treating that racist Hillary like Mitt’s “cheat hanky.”

  172. One of my favorite Biden clips.

“I’m sure that my IQ is MUCH higher than yours…”

Yep. Sheriff Biden. Noted plagerist and MENSA member. Proof that America provides not just a second act for those who will stick to it, but a third, a fourth, a fifth….

  173. Happy Birthday, James! I agree with Raji – hit the old girl up for a new machine.

On the other hand, there is more than enough knowledge available to Rutherford, and still he chooses to embrace the ignorance of Progressivism, so maybe we’re already there….

    😆 😆 😆

  174. First, Happy Birthday James. I infer from your comments taken in total over the past year that you’re probably older than most of us (even older than old geezers me and Tex). I’d bet we all have a lot to learn from you.

I took a moment to look at Betsy’s Page and read her piece on Biden’s performance. I was struck by how level headed she is (at least in that piece). No red meat for the likes of Tex and Tigre. No attempt to be the right version of Fat Grannies. No snark. Maybe I caught her on a good day? In any case, I was impressed. I do take issue with this one statement though:

And such behavior would put an end to whatever likability advantage that Obama might have.

I believe it was this fear of losing likeability that cost Obama the first debate.Obama doesn’t have to be Joe … certainly a lot less laughter is called for. But Obama HAS to throw a punch or he will lose round 2.

  175. Getting back to the topic of this piece … turns out old Allen West just narrowly missed a dishonorable discharge. From what I understand, the military after scolding him. figured it was easier to just let him leave with a full pension. But it turns out the old patriot with higher security clearance than Obama and his finger on the pulse of our Communist Congress, is the nutjob I always thought he was.

  176. And before everyone starts whining about how low brow the ad from Patrick Murphy is …. West threw the first punch with an ad pointing out Murphy’s 2003 arrest for disorderly conduct.

  177. Well I am unaware of West’s ads but I am very well versed in the incident, charges and procedures involving West and quite frankly Murphy is barking up a false tree.
West was responsible for the interrogation and battery on an Iraqi policeman. The Army as well as West believed the charges did not rise to the court martial level ,that Article 15 proceedings were adequate. Proof of this is that a) the Army did not press for court martial and b) West refused a court martial by accepting an Article 15. There is a unique feature to UCMJ that is lost on the civilian pundit type.
Also lost in the leftist shit storm of the incident and the persons en total is that 99.9999999% of Americans deep down support the actions of West that day. A variation of the Dershowitz dilemma or whatever it is called.

  178. So in summary when in your Allen West hater club mode you mutter:

    From what I understand

you don’t really understand anything other than what folks like yourself have told you.

  179. Sorry for being a fre hit machine today instead of posting one long comment….
I faced Article 15 proceedings and I called the fuckers bluff. I checked off “Request Court Martial”. The charges were dropped since the last thing the unit command structure wanted was to be exposed in a trial.

  180. Rutherford is a parrot at heart. No real understanding of what he is saying, just regurgitating what others have told him. The more he talks and tries to sound informed, the more the truth is reveled.

I’ve been looking up information on dishonest people/arguers and how to deal with them. Rutherford is not a complicated diagnosis at all. Simply put he is closed minded with a personal/party agenda. He isn’t looking for reasoned debate. His only mission is to get other people to agree with him. He sets forth a premise with preconceived conclusions. Then the only things he will post or entertain are the things that support his original premise. Anyone else is bullied, insulted, and dismissed without discussion or consideration for what they believe, or ignored altogether. In essence, he is a more verbose Newt.

I suspect Thor is Truth Teller over at fat grannies. So I will say here what I said there. Best thing than could happen to me was to have Rutherford stop responding. I no longer have to painstakingly chose my words and consider every possible way he could manipulate and twist the meaning. Better to have my points stand on their own merit and let everyone judge on their own rather than to have to restate it 10 different ways to defend it. I hope the rest of you are as lucky as I.

  181. They couldn’t handle the truth? 😆

R, my read meat is the left’s and your reactions. While you seem to want to disagree, Biden didn’t and couldn’t have changed the dynamics. Whatever thrill the pretend tough guy acts supply to MSNBC and the 8 people that watch it, the problem is Obama’s campaign strategy entirely focused on character attack. Enjoy your mayonnaise.

  182. Incidentally, for anyone that doesn’t know, the MENSA VP talking about intellect and lying attended the Syracuse College of Law and graduated 76th in a class of 85. 😆

As for the full academic scholarship, Biden went on a half scholarship based on financial need. The law school arranged for his first year’s room and board by placing him as an assistant resident adviser in the undergraduate school. 😆

Now what was being said about character?

  183. El Tigre you bring up a great point of order. Rutherfords last post left me kind of wanting to understand his reason to vote BHO. Now even more so secondary to his response towards Biden (which imo has fair points to it) and previous comments by him I’m still wondering why.
Rutherford I am having a problem getting a fix on you running up to the election and what may be your post election issue. The way I see it you sit in a spot something like as follows:
You like Obama and a number of things he stands for.
You are having a real hard time with the Democrat Establishment.
You want Obama to show up at the next debate, not the guy walking around for let’s say a year and a half calling himself Obama.
You see clearly where the Democrats are failing on the campaign trail and you’re pulling your hair out in a dark corner of your home.
You’ve screamed “You are f@#$ing kidding me” for the (D)’s almost as many times as you’ve said it about the (R)’s.
    Am I onto something?
FWIW this is my life with Brown, its how I was with Angle and O’Donnell….you’re not alone.

  184. Obama and likability…. I don’t get this. Am I such a Neanderthal that I believe Americans like someone who stands up for themselves and their beliefs instead of applauding a mumbling pussy?.!
I think if Obama could control himself he should indeed come out and smack Mitt around, other than the cheap low brow Mormon stuff. I think people would buy into that. There is also the fact that I don’t think Obama can control himself. I truly believe that when he gets going he loses it,knows this and therefor embraces a heavy dose of self repression. This too is unhealthy. Has anyone seen Bo lately?

  185. West threw the first punch with an ad pointing out Murphy’s 2003 arrest for disorderly conduct.

Think you’ve got the sequence backwards…

That drunk punk you’re panting over drew first blood. West just finished him off.

  186. I have to say I am more excited about the next Presidential debate than I was the first. All of this stuff coming up about Libya, and its becoming pretty clear the Obamination administration knew about what was going on and did nothing, ignoring the people asking for help, and the next debate being about foreign policy, should be the perfect storm. Hope they nail him to the wall on Libya and Fast and Furious.

  187. Pfessor, I loved that pic of the northern lights. I’ve seen some incredible ones when I was stationed in Iceland.

We used to run these World War III drills where they would put us outside in trenches for a week. For 7 days and nights every soul on that base pretended we were in a full scale war for the island.

One night, I sat in that trench and watched a show in the sky that to this day I can’t believe was real. Green and red swirling. It was like the night sky was a tie dyed shirt. Somebody was shooting flares and I swear they were timing the lulls in the northern lights.

I watched it with a black Indian from some obscure island in North Carolina where the blacks went native a long time ago. We were manning a M60 loaded with blanks. I could hardly understand the dude’s accent. But we agreed on two things. Under no circumstances were we going to fire that weapon so that the asshole Marines don’t have an excuse to make us clean it the next morning. And the show in the sky was the most amazing thing either of us had ever seen.

Our chief even had hot chocolate delivered to everybody that night.

Some guys deal with PTSD from their stint in the service. I remember hot chocolate, northern lights and stunning, naked, Viking women. It was tough but someone had to do it.

  188. Thanks for those pictures, Pfesser. I have bookmarked those.

I’ve seen much in my age. Huge, beautiful mountains, rain forests, volcanoes, the aurora borealis, magnificent night skies near the top of Mauno Kea, some of the world’s most gorgeous beaches and sunsets, coral reefs, even a complete white out as I tried to make in home one time from the plains of Kansas.

But I have never seen anything more both ominous and beautiful than a super cell and what follows. Ever…

  189. Thanks Pfessor. I have book marked the site for its good pictures. Did you look at the June 5 pictures9 near the bottom of the page?) showing the flood’s aftermath?

Those pictures were taken near my home.
Our 160 acres of flooded land had only about an inch of sand, but even so, it looked like a desert with sand dunes until after some rain fell in June and crops were planted. Many places still look like deserts with no crops raised this year. One center pivot tipped into a twenty foot hole the flood had made.

Farmers have had to haul sand from their property or pile it up. Some was dumped onto other land and disked in.One neighbor found a new deck in his field. Now, he has a deck on his house.

I love shelf and wall clouds. They won’t, but I wish everyone reading this here would look at those pictures.

Our most frightening experience with flying in weather was when our pilot tried to land our overweight single engine plan at a Marsailes, France airport in a cross wind gusting to 65 knots. The air port was closed due to the wind, but our pilot persuaded air traffic control that he could do it. He couldn’t. That is why I would have to be dead to ride another single engined plane.

  190. Thanks for the birthday wishes. it was a good day, and I got more things than I deserved. I have purchased two dvd/vcr player-recorders and a video camera in the past two weeks, and still, my wife thinks we need a new computer. We will be shopping for one when we get time to go to the city again.

We had a noisy thunderstorm yesterday morning, and another this morning. I need some sleep.

Rutherford, I don’t read Betsy’s Page every day, but she has been fairly level- headed most of the time. She has won some teaching awards, so she must behave well in the classroom.. I was hoping you would like what you saw. I agree, Obama must strike back but he can’t be Joe Biden.

I convinced a Best Buy salesman to watch the next debate. I compared Obama’s loss to Nebraska’s defeat to Ohio and that Obama is under the same pressure to win as Big Red is next weekend.

Rabbit’s comments reminded me of Helga and Inga, two young Icelandic women I met while waiting for my wife’s flight from Iceland.

You might like dating viking women on youtube. I think it is funny. My wife thinks it is juvenal.

  191. Happy belated birthday, James.

Yesterday was a good day. I got my ballot in the mail and promptly took my sharpie and wrote in RON PAUL!!! YES!!! I also voted for the libertarian senate candidate Marc Victor. An ex-marine, lawyer, and big advocate for freedom and small government. He’s got a good and solid reputation for standing up for individual rights. I also voted for the democratic sheriff candidate Paul Penzone who does have a good chance of unseating the very corrupt Joe Arpaio. And the libertarian Michael Kielsky is running for county attorney, so I gave him my vote. His opponent is an Arpaio stooge.

I’ll need to spend more time researching the judges and propositions.

The under culture is really developing here and appears to be across the nation, and it is not only the youth. I call it the under culture because it operates below the main stream and often opposes it. I see more folks waking up, of which I’m grateful. More and more people are opening up to alternative narratives that are not in lockstep with the ‘official’ versions of reality.

It is an exciting time to be alive. The weather has been extreme, too. Those pictures are quite impressive, PFesser. Much of their dramatics are due to technique, but they still offer some intense conditions. I love signs and wonders.

  192. Thanks Poolman. The under culture you describe may be evolving into something like the Ukrainians.

We watched Felix on the Tonight Show. His exploit is amazing.

A disaster just happened. here. We live on an isolated, poorly traveled road, and a rail road borders our farm. The track is poorly marked, and another neighbor, we think, crossed the track too late.A locomotive hit the car, and the occupants were just air flighted to Omaha. Several people called to see if we were alright. One said “Thank God you answered.” Had this been yesterday when we were gone, gossip might have had us hit by the train.

The train engineer called in the accident.

  193. The heckler in this video is how I see Rutherford. As we all sit here trying to make our valid points, Ol R is in the background just like this guy.

  194. I recalled my one close call with a train when you related that incident, James. It was probably 37 years ago but still gives me the willies. It wasn’t my time.

Train wrecks aren’t usually pretty or forgiving. As kids in Germany, we often put coins on the tracks. That was back in the days of real, where money was precious metal.

  195. Remember, this is a man that was so stupid, he predicted the Republicans were going the way of the Whigs.

I don’t know how I missed that lecture from Tex. Ehhhh … someone else has said if the GOP doesn’t change its ways it will go the way of the Whigs, precisely those words … and the person was Michael Steele.

Oh I forgot …. Steele is a RINO.

BTW … could someone tell me what a bolo punch is? And since when do we cheer a big man punching a much smaller woman in the face? She was mouthy … yes she was … but chivalry dictates you don’t punch a woman … unless of course she comes at you with a knife or a gun (or maybe if she throws the first punch).

  196. Quick tech comment … yes, I’m pleased with Windows 7 but after Vista, anything would be an improvement.

Tex, you fancy yourself the techie … have you mastered networking yet? I’m telling you, getting an XP, Vista and Windows 7 machine to see each other on a home network is like getting Palestine and Israel to communicate effectively. I’ve read accounts of how to do it on the web, and half the time I think the writers are blowing smoke. Windows 7 has introduced an alternative to the traditional Windows workgroups, which makes things even hairier.

  197. For the Mac fanboys out there, I don’t argue with the stability and quality of the Mac environment but sadly Windows is STILL THE office environment solution. I cannot imagine anyone running a home business doing so on a Mac.

  198. Hoffer died in 1983, so he probably wasn’t referring specifically to Joe Biden’s performance in last night’s debate.

That comment gave me a chuckle. No, he probably wasn’t referring to Biden’s performance in last night’s debate. 😆

  199. The technology is amazing anymore. So good ironically, I think it has actually made a large chunk of our population even more stupid, if that possible.

It’s beyond technology as BiW’s response to this comment suggests. I think another problem is the collateral damage associated with the democratization of the information dissemination and retrieval. Now everyone is a journalist. Someone can get a stupid chain letter, which in that venue would be seen for what it is, turn it into a blog post, and suddenly the crap takes on an air of legitimacy.

There is not a single one of us on this blog who can’t search and find the answers we want instead of the truth. It makes the times we are living in all the more dangerous.

  200. On the other hand, there is more than enough knowledge available to Rutherford, and still he chooses to embrace the ignorance of Progressivism, so maybe we’re already there….

Spoken from within the bubble. Well done. See comment 322.

  201. Rutherford re: 322.

Cutting trees all day, so I am too tired to really take that one on, Fortunately, Mssr. Justice Brandeis has already done so:

“Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman.”

Let them talk. Then shine a bright light on what they have said. If people dig up shit and parade it around, the Web also makes trivial to debunk it, and their credibility goes in the toil-ay. Another self-correcting system.

Maybe I should write a book on that idea…hmmm…

  202. I apologize for using the word stupid. I get tired of this ignorant arguments and outright lies about Republicans and misspoke out of agitation. That was inappropriate, as I don’t think you stupid, “R”. Misguided and corrupted, yes. 😉

Michael Steele is lame. Without sounding like Archie Bunker I hope, if Steele wasn’t “black”, he wouldn’t even make a splash in Repub circles. I don’t find him a terribly effective spokesperson – just as I don’t find morning Joe terribly effective either. Just my opinion. I wouldn’t even called them Republican. More like “undecided” voters, or something. Men without purpose, looking for a party and to make themselves relevant.

I haven’t had any problem making my Windows 7 talk to my XP machine, as I copied many files over to my new machine – probably would have been faster with a thumb drive looking back.

But Vista was a piece of crap – such a piece of crap that I removed it from my daughter’s first machine 5-6 years ago (they required a PC), and loaded XP with the III patch. That’s no kidding.

At that point in time, I was so disgusted with Microsoft, I almost did switch to Macs. My daughter did.

  203. Hey Tigre, have you developed video Tourettes? or maybe video stutter is a better diagnosis. You loved that Biden clip so much you posted it twice.

One thing that Biden explaining law school clip taught me is what a fantastic toupee the dude wears now. I had no idea he was that bald.

  204. “Windows is STILL THE office environment solution.”

    Not so.

“I cannot imagine anyone running a home business doing so on a Mac.”

Come visit me. I can’t imagine how anyone could keep an office running on PCs; all you do is futz with them; how do you get any work done?

We have seven Macs in our office and all our off-site employees are required to have Macs. We are an all-Mac shop; all our Web software, all our word processor software – everything – is Mac. The idea that it is difficult to get software for the Mac is a holdover from the days of FUD; it just does not apply any more, and didn’t THEN, either. We did a three-day course in Dreamweaver and a second on-site course in search engine optimization; none of the trainers who flew in used a PC; people who are cutting-edge in the Web business just laugh when you tell them you use a PC.

I just told my son that all PCs had to go and my off-site son is not to bring a PC through the door when he visits. Now we don’t worry about viruses or anything screwing up the network.

We just don’t have the time to fu*k with the computers all day. When we turn them on they need to work. Macs do that.

  205. Also lost in the leftist shit storm of the incident and the persons en total is that 99.9999999% of Americans deep down support the actions of West that day.

Alfie, I love you man but do you have a poll to support that or did you pull it out of your a$$?

My understanding is West fired a gun near the head of the man he was “interrogating”. I don’t think 99.999999% of anyone supports that.

But let’s split the difference and simply agree West is no Eisenhower. 🙂

P.S. There is more than enough evidence without this military faux pas to suggest he’s a hot head bordering on loony tune.

P.P.S. I’d go out on a limb and say you, Rabbit and James had more honorable duty than Mr. West.

  206. I faced Article 15 proceedings and I called the fuckers bluff.

I’m commenting comment by comment … so do I need to retract the last part of 329? I’m guessing not. BUT if you are as much of a hot head as West, then I wouldn’t want you in the House of Representatives either.

  207. James – re crosswind.

All aircraft are certified for landing in a certain crosswind. When you get near that, you don’t land. It is that simple. Sounds like you were flying with an idiot; if the airplane can’t do it, then HE can’t do it.

I just got back from a trip to WV to visit an old friend and his wife who is dying from breast CA. I just don’t know how she does it; she seems well-satisfied. They let her come home from hospice for a few days. Fine, fine woman.

Anyway, I had to cross a dry cold front over the mountains. It was interesting, to say the least. I flew 8500 feet going over, 7500 coming back to get as high above the mountains as I could. There was 40 knot winds hitting those mountains at about 90 degrees. Even at altitude it was rough. I got into some mountain wave and it was SO cool; I would look down and I’d be going up 500’/min, then down 500, then up 300, down 300, etc. Bet it was rough as a cob down low. Good experience, though. I see why sailplanes LOVE those long straight mountains.

  208. 330
What a circular argument. Either you agree with me or I’ll lump you in with the rest. No possible way R could be in error.

Speaking of mayonnaise, I do live me a heaping spoonful of it from time to time. Love how it squishes. (Undercover Brother pegged that one pretty good.)

  209. [You like Obama and a number of things he stands for.]
    True.
[You are having a real hard time with the Democrat Establishment.]
To the same degree that I have a hard time with any Establishment. True change for the establishment is a joke.
[You want Obama to show up at the next debate, not the guy walking around for let’s say a year and a half calling himself Obama.]
In short I want the 2008 Obama to come back and mean it this time.
[You see clearly where the Democrats are failing on the campaign trail and you’re pulling your hair out in a dark corner of your home.]
Not so much. The Big Bird thing is disappointing as hell. How any campaign adviser could be that juvenile to sign off on that ad is beyond me,
[You’ve screamed “You are f@#$ing kidding me” for the (D)’s almost as many times as you’ve said it about the (R)’s.]
Naaah. I’ve said it way more times for the (R)’s.

I know Mika Brzezinski is scorned here, but she called this the campaign about nothing and she’s pretty close to the mark. The debates are at least starting to move us to a meaningful conversation. But neither side can withstand full disclosure. 😦

  210. Regarding Alfie and the likeability factor … some good points there. There is a reason why Obama is a “cool customer”. He probably knows if he lets loose it could get ugly.

Alfie, because you are not a racist, you also don’t understand the racial implications of Obama appearing angry. In America, the angry black man simply does not sell like the angry white man.

  211. I don’t know how you can make those statements, R. You armchair quarterbacks who can’t even take care of yourselves much less battle hardcore jihadists, are not qualified to speak until you’ve walked a mile in a battle hardened soldier’s shoes. If it saved American lives, West has my blessing. West is a hard ass. Hard asses win wars.

I have no idea what you Leftists think soldier’s responsibilities are, but number one on that list is to kill the enemy and win. We wouldn’t even have questioned those kinds of actions seventy years ago. I am completely convinced of that. Pussification of our military by a bunch of politicians and limp wrists is another major problem we’ve got to deal with soon.

As far as that punk HO calling the bus driver “nigguh” over and over again? She either spit on him or hit him. I couldn’t tell which. I was hoping he hit would hit her with another bolo punch and cause some permanent damage. Guess that’s another difference between the two of us.

I’ve never hit a woman, but I did push one once for kicking me about 30 years ago. Knocked her out too. And none of the women in the dugout who witnessed it had a problem with me doing it either. This Amazon piece of white trash was slapping another woman I played with who was about half her size, I tried to break it up, she tried kicking me in the nuts and I pushed almost out of instinct. She went down on her ass, her head hit the bench when she went down. Oops… I about shit a brick. Not one of my prouder moments. I thought I’d killed her.

One of two reasons I gave up coed softball. I was mortified, but the defense mechanisms kind of took over for a split second.

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

  212. More than two-thirds of Cantor Fitzgerald’s workforce died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and over the five years following, Lutnick donated 25 percent of the firm’s profits to their families. He also provided them with health care for 10 years.

Just another evil CEO eh R?

  213. Tex, I watched Baumgartner’s whole as ascent and descent with my kids. Very cool.

I used to be a prolific sport jumper and met Kittinger in my 20s. I was able to find the original LIFE magazine with all of the cool photos of his jump, signed by him for me. I hate that my brush has been trumped, but much like Yeager these guys do have brass balls.

  214. Tigre,

Did the same with my wife and youngest daughter – but Baumgartner was at about 60K when we started streaming after going to brunch. We watched about the last hour of the climb and then watched the descent.

That was even cooler then I thought. I watched him standing out on that step and thought, “No turning back now.”

Amazing to watch. My oldest daughter told me she went skydiving last year with her boyfriend. Good thing she didn’t asking permission. 😆

Gulp. But I got to admit, I’d like to try the rush myself.

  215. Damn Tex…..that brought back bad memories. I remember being absolutely devastated as a kid when Hit Man got his ass kicked in the 13th. The Haggler fight was a wild loss that leaves you too bewildered to be bummed. But the Leonard fight….first time I truly felt anguish from watching sports.

  216. Remember that fight well. Great fight. Somewhere, Leonard caught Hearns with a hard left hook to the body when it looked like Tommy was going to win going away. Then the fight changed completely.

Man, that was a golden age of boxing – when I was still a fan and it hadn’t been completely corrupted. Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, and Duran.

Didn’t get any better than that.

Above is the unemployment rate as of August. Now per usual, these are only those who are receiving benefits. Can you imagine the real unemployment and the unemployment of minorities? Also of note, check out the number of these cities run by the Left. Of the top 20 worst cities, California, the testing ground of all things Left, holds 12 places.

  218. Yes Pfessor, we were flying with an idiot. Our plane was 200 pounds overweight and the metal nose cowling over the motor had torn off.It was a close call. At one time, the wing tip on my side of the plane was about 18 inches off the concrete before it aimed at blue sky again. A college professor, a WW11 veteran, said the extra weight might have saved us.

He was the one who mistakenly made an emergency landing on an Italian air base. The angry Italians detained us for a while and said they nearly shot us down because they thought we were terrorists.

His “co pilot” forgot to flip a fuel switch when we were 11,000 feet over Venis. The silence of a stalled motor may be familiar to you, but it was an unspecial time for me.

I like reading your flying stories, but my little adventures are enough to last a lifetime. I’d rather race locomotives.

Rutherford, Mika is wrong. She sounds as dumb as I did when I said there was little difference between Humphrey and Nixon.

Thanks Rutherford. I am not condemning or defending West. He might be a nut case, as you write. However, if lives depended on what information an interrogated prisoner shared, I would have put a bullet as close to the prisoner’s ear as possible without shooting it off.

Speaking of Article 15s, two airmen on our base were charged with damaging government property by getting sun burns so severe they impaired their work capabilities for a few days. An Airman was trapped during the Tet Offensive, and several Marines rescued him. He was so frightened he left his M 16 behind. He returned when conditions were more peaceful to look for his weapon. The Air Force was billing him.

  219. Fastest growing states in the nation.
    1. Wyoming Governor Matthew Hansen Republican
    2. North Dakota Governor John “Jack” Dalrymple Republican
    3. Alaska Governor Sean R. Parnell Republican
    4. South Dakota Governor Dennis M. Daugaard Republican
    5. Utah Governor Gary Richard Herbert Republican
    6. Texas Governor James Richard “Rick” Perry

    7. Nevada Governor Brian Edward Sandoval Republican
    8. Montana Governor Brian David Schweitzer Democrat
    9. Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin
    Republican
    10. Louisiana Governor Piyush “Bobby” Jindal Republican

Of the top 10 fastest growing state economies, 9 are held by Republicans. Add this to the unemployment figures, and I have what I think is a proven case which party has the right course for our country.

  220. Tex@337

Yep, it is a bit puzzling to me. Any woman you talk to thinks a man won’t hit her. I’ve avoided it so far, but if the occasion demands it, I certainly will.

Wyatt Earp always said that if a woman pulled a gun on him, he would kill her. Maybe it was to load the dice so none ever would pull a gun on him or maybe he was serious; I don’t know. He always said a woman could kill you every bit as dead as a man.

  221. A woman is afforded the privileges due a women as long as she acts as woman. When she decides to act otherwise and attack someone, she lose those privileges.

  222. I’ve met bitches who are stone cold killers. I worked with one who ate somebody’s heart. In fact, it took place by Pfessor’s neck of the woods. Pfessor, do you remember a story about a satanic couple killing someone who picked them up hitch hiking? They found her with a tortured kitten when they arrested her. Little suburban white girl. She used to use the artificial cheese coloring and pencil lead as a sort of make up. Black girls wouldn’t even fuck with her.

  223. Thanks for asking, Pfesser. Very slow recover – maybe never. With assistance he can go to the bathroom with help. At least his mind has cleared. Still has the PEG, but is eating now.

They’ve got assistance coming into the house for a small fortune.

That deal with that gal that night kind of haunted me for awhile. But what the hell was I supposed to do? Let her kick me in the nuts? That whole episode about started a riot, believe it or not. All I was trying to do was get between two gals, one twice as big as the other. This gal was so small, we called her half pint – but she had a mouth as big as mine. Wyatt Earp was right.

Amazon’s boy, her husband, her lover – whatever he was, was a big SOB too. I mean NFL sized big. He started threatening me and I knew the only that was going to bring this guy down was with an aluminum bat or a deer rifle. And I didn’t have access to a rifle.

Here we are this little professional and clerical bunch of coeds getting ready to rumble with a beer distributor outfit, or something like that. Definitely from two different sides of the track. I knew I was going to get my ass kicked before I left this park – what pissed me off was I never even wanted to play on the team to begin with. These gals dragged me out there – I was already playing a sponsored male team.

And all this because of a bad call at home plate that gave us the game. 😆 A damn coed “C” league softball game about broke into gang warfare. Fortunately, somebody called police before the melee started. They walked us to our car and I retired from Coed softball shortly thereafter.

A year or two later, I ripped the Teres Minor and whimpered into retirement. There was a time, I could throw a baseball about 90mph. After that, I couldn’t throw from shortstop to second base. Haven’t thrown a softball or baseball in 20 years probably. Threw a football around last Thanksgiving, and the next day, my shoulder hurt like hell.

I was hoping if enough time had passed, it might repair itself. Guess I was wrong.

  224. Speaking of movies, I watched Act of Valor tonight for free on NetFlix.

Very good movie. I understand real SEALS do the acting, at least some of it, and I noticed Tom Clancy provided some assistance. They look like SEALS.

Nice to see a war movie that wasn’t PC – Muslims and the Mexican Cartel aren’t angels with wings in this one.

And there is some serious ass kicking. I’ll just say if you haven’t seen the movie, the recovery of the CIA agent makes this one worth watching by itself.

    Rambo for real.

  225. DR – I never heard of the satanic murderers thing. Must have missed that somehow. You say that was near WV, VA?

The year before I started college, there were two hitchhiking WVU coeds murdered somewhere around southern PA. God, I still remember their names: Mared Malerik and Karen Ferrell. Their bodies were eventually recovered, minus the heads, which were never found. Years later they tried and convicted a guy named Clawson, who was kind of loony and who most people don’t think did it.

Tex – your Dad may end up having to keep the gastrostomy tube. The swallowing mechanism is a very delicate, complicated little balance; once it is gone, it is tough to get it working again. Man, sounds like your family has had a bad go of it; my sympathies.

re: the softball thing. You just hate it when you know things are going to turn ugly. I haven’t had a physical confrontation in a long time. The boyfriends feel the need to “protect” their princesses no matter what. That has surely caused a lot of decent guys to get in a hell of a bunch of trouble…

  226. My sympathies too. Its small comfort, but my father survived on a feeding tube because he was contracting aspiration pneumonia so frequently his lungs were being damaged.

He managed well and spent time reading, watching TV, listening to talk shows and flirting with the nurses. He walked every day. My father died two and a half months later at the age of 95, and the gastrotomy tube had nothing to do with his death.

The sixteen year old girl who lost her race with the train on our farm yesterday died., Her car was thrown into a stream. Someone else called this morning asking if we were all right. Gossip had our red car water.

  227. The climategate e mails also acknowledged the new stability. One of their topics was how to hide the decline.

The Antarctic ice has set a record for its large extent. It includes sea ice.

  228. I could mock Rutherford for calling Alan West a certifiable loon (the same Rutherford giddy over Joe Biden).

But the man does such a much better job himself, let Alan demonstrate not only is he not a loon, he’s pretty damn bright. Who would you rather have as representative?

This guy, or Nancy Pelosi? This guy, or Harry Reid? This guy, or Joe Biden? Pretty easy, hey?

  229. @ Rutherford, yes the stat comes from the bowels of Alfie-dom but since I put it forth in context to the Dershowitz thing I think in some circles it stands better than it may smell.
The action may be black and white wrong but it is within the grays we live and that is where I think West’s actions gets supported.

As for my UCMJ flirtation…well lets just say some shit was going on and another trooper tried to go to the IG. He was physically stopped from doing so and then further restrained via intimidation. Alfie took a stand and was branded a “band leader” and causing a mutiny. I laughed and reminded the platoon command we were in the Army not the Navy. This didn’t help my cause obviously so on went the disrespect charges.
So then it comes to pass that a SSG and a LT stand in front of me with the Article 15 paperwork. I look ’em in the eye and say “I’m requesting a court martial”. Their eyes bug a little. Then to twist the knife a little I asked “Should I request officers or enlisted personnel for the panel….I mean really which group would be more interested in you two preventing a soldier from getting to the IG”? Suddenly the papers were trashed,I was “counseled”, which is like a nasty-gram in your record and sent on TDY to the post hospital. Just for a backgrounder to those that don’t know. There can be a lot of pressure on folks NOT to go to the IG but it is like in Moses stone that you can’t prevent them.

So you see Rutherford I’m actually a highly principled pain in the ass kind of guy who has always been willing to take a personal hit for whats right. This may seem shaky when I’m willing to see someone scared out of their wits for possible info that can keep me and others like me alive.
Also I’m aiming no higher than Beacon Hill in my real world political aspirations.

  230. Think you’ve got the sequence backwards…

Nope, I don’t. Unless you know of an earlier ad by Murphy and even if you do Murphy clearly won the day. Shame if he doesn’t win the election.

  231. OK, I know this is insane paranoia on my part but I published this piece on Wednesday, October 10 and on Thursday night Jon Stewart ran a piece including most of the folks in this article (minus Bachmann). I swear the dude is stealing my sh*t. I ought to sue the bastard. But there ARE two mitigating factors.

    1) I like the guy.
    2) I’ve never had an original idea in 51 years of living on this planet. In fact, in my first year of college Harvard made a big deal out of plagiarism and as a result I was afraid to write anything, basically thinking “what could this 18 year old come up with that someone smarter hasn’t said somewhere before?”

I’ll share a small anecdote about “dishonesty in writing” in a later comment. It was a lesson my Expository Writing professor gave that really stuck with me. BTW, I got an A- in Expository Writing, just about my only Harvard claim to fame besides being on the “4 year plan”.

  232. GeeZ…Felix Baumgartner – balls of steel. 128,000 Parachute jump!

Maybe one of you physics geeks can answer this for me. From what I heard, Felix exceeded the speed of sound on his descent. What parachute could possibly withstand that kind of downward speed without busting apart?

  233. I actually saw a train hit an abandoned car on a track once. It wasn’t at all as I expected. I expected the car to be crushed with sounds of great gnashing … possibly a derailment. It happened so fast I didn’t realize what I’d seen until it was over … and it was much less dramatic. The train basically pushed the car off the track like it was a tin can and then just kept going.

    Very odd.

  234. “2) I’ve never had an original idea in 51 years of living on this planet.”

FINALLY! Something R and I agree on. (notes date and time)

  235. PF while I hear you, how do you manage interfacing with businesses that use PC’s? Maybe I’m too outdated on this but back in the day there was almost zero compatibility between Mac users and PC users. When I started my business in 2007 I dreaded working with clients who had Macs. In fact, one of my clients gave me his old clunker of a Mac just so I could duplicate his results in my office.

But like James, I do appreciate the tips I’ve read here. Should I ever need another Mac to test webinar scenarios I may go the cheap e-bay route.

  236. On a sick note re trains. I responded to two “bumps” called in by AMTRAK. One was nothing, the second what was left of a person who apparently chose it as a suicide mode. I also live in a community where Acela goes though. Not too long ago it took out someone who thought they could cross the tracks and climb the safety barrier. he was wrong.

  237. Hey … another physics question … I didn’t think a hot air balloon could get very high in the Earth’s atmosphere. This was billed as “the edge of space”. I thought the differing pressures that high up would rule out such a high ascent.

  238. Sorry, another amateur question on another topic. In the Leonard-Hearns video, why did they call that a knockout? Why wasn’t it a TKO? Hearns never fell down, wasn’t counted out. Ref just stopped the fight.

I wonder how many times ref’s have been accidentally hit by a punch? 🙂

  239. Rutherford, Mika is wrong. She sounds as dumb as I did when I said there was little difference between Humphrey and Nixon.

I probably didn’t represent Mika’s comment adequately, James. She wasn’t saying there was no difference between Romney and Obama. She was saying the serious differences weren’t being discussed. The campaign ads mostly trivial and irrelevant. Each week’s news item just another “shiny object”.

  240. What parachute could possibly withstand that kind of downward speed without busting apart?

You think he pulled that rip cord at 700mph? I’d be more worried about his torso. 😆

Friction of the stratosphere. One reason the man jumped from such a high level was to break the sound barrier. At that height, you have much less resistance than you do in the troposphere were you and I reside. It looked to me like he went head first, providing as little resistance as possible.

The thicker atmosphere begins to provide resistance as you near the surface of the earth, plus you will notice Baumgartner flattens his body providing greater surface area and even more resistance.

I don’t know what speed Baumgarnter was traveling when the chute deployed, but I would almost guarantee it was less than 200mph.

  241. I watched Act of Valor tonight for free on NetFlix.

Sometimes I really do love you man …. you watched it cos you have a PAID subscription. It wasn’t free. (Unless you were redeeming a free offer …. were you?)

  242. Well, legitimate point – but I WATCHED IT FOR FREE. NetFlix is really for our youngest daughter.

And I HAVE never paid a penny.

Netflix is actually a pretty good deal if you use it. And I would say my daughter is utilizing it every other day. 25¢ a day, give or take a nickel?

LIKE “FREE TV.” I suppose there is no such thing.

  243. Tigre if the global warming finding was so damn key, why was it published under the radar and got virtually no attention? I suspect because it impresses only the climate change skeptics like yourself and doesn’t hold up to unbiased scientific scrutiny.

  244. A very famous feeding tube user is none other than film critic Roger Ebert whose throat was f*cked up by several cancer surgeries. He lives an otherwise “normal” life. His wife avoids eating in front of him because she considers it cruel. He says he misses eating although I think he still cooks on occasion.

  245. West proved within the first minute of his four minutes that he’s a fool so I stopped watching. Anyone who lumps socialism, Marxism, Communism and progressivism together into one huge heap is talking out of his ass. He reminds me a bit of Gingrich … the guy, dumb people think is smart. 😆

  246. Fascinating, so the “thickening” atmosphere slowed his descent. I wonder what the sensation of free fall is like near the speed of sound. I wonder if you feel you’re moving fast or whether the spacial context up there is so disorienting that you really don’t have a sense of your speed.

Gotta hand it to Bush 41. Up until recently, the dude skydove on his birthday every year.

  247. Well, if Gingrich is dumb as a politician, then perhaps you would share with us who you believe is smart, Rutherford? 😀

Weiner? Isn’t that what you told us a couple of years ago?

  248. I believe last I saw, Obama’s excuse for such slow growth was that we didn’t “stimulate” the economy enough the first time.

Obama had proposed another $400+ billion as stimulus. Dweebs and thieves like MSNBC and Paul Krugman, former adviser to Enron, have also stated for the record it’s the Republicans that are stopping “progress.”

Here’s how Mitt Romney should respond to that challenge during the debate, if it should rear its ugly head. Would make a very effective talking point:

    http://www.washingtonguardian.com/stimulating-investigation

  249. “You think he pulled that rip cord at 700mph? I’d be more worried about his torso.”

Tex, I had to pull a reserve at terminal velocity (flat — 120-130 mph). They’re intended to open fast and hard for obvious reasons (usual deployment of a ram air parachute is about 500-800 ft at terminal). That snap had me creeping out of bed with bruised thighs and messed up lower back for a week.

R, that tumbling sensation is one you have to a much lower degree for the first 1,000 feet or so. The prop blast and forward movement of the plane provide a little but not a lot of stability.

I am certain Baumgartner deployed a drogue for a good bit of the ride before deploying his main.

  250. “Tigre if the global warming finding was so damn key, why was it published under the radar and got virtually no attention?”

Glad to see you haven;t bothered to read this or any of my prior comments with links. If you really care, and I am certain you don’t, you could Google it and see plenty on this. There’s been little dispute that we’ve been in a warming phase for quite some time. The investigation into East Anglia research made it clear. The real reason no one reads about it is that no one really cares anymore. Hear much about cap and trade or carbon credits in Obama’s campaign platform anymore? He was going to lower the sea levels remember?

Sorry if that breaks your heart.

  251. “unbiased scientific scrutiny.”

    Hahahahahahaha.

The report is totally consistent with what you refer to as “unbiased scientific scrutiny.”

I love how you disregarded everything I’ve provided to you in the past. The growing ice in Antarctica and cooling trend has been widely reported for some time. Why it seems like only yesterday you and Thor equated carbon emissions with air pollution and I wasted my time explaining the fallacy.

  252. “I wonder if you feel you’re moving fast or whether the spacial context up there is so disorienting that you really don’t have a sense of your speed.”

Without a point of reference (e.g. ground rush, wind noise, another falling object) it would feel like you’re just laying on top of the world I’m sure. In sport jumping, ground rush usually starts around 5k feet. Typical deployment is around 3k.

  253. Rutherford, I agree with your 376 version of Mika’s comment. Most commercials are intended for emotional effect. I think such low informational commercials contributed to Romney’s debate victory. He wasn’t the same man as the one in the commercials.

  254. “PF while I hear you, how do you manage interfacing with businesses that use PC’s?”

Not a problem. Never has been a problem. All Web-based stuff uses HTML to present the pages and everybody speaks HTML.

  255. Some climatologists disputed the report, but an East Anglia climatologist who was investigated after Climategate admitted that even his group doesn’t know enough about climate variables which are overlaid with human caused effects on the weather. For one thing, no one knows how long such external events last.

I wonder about the sense of time passage in such a long jump.

  256. Well, if Gingrich is dumb as a politician, then perhaps you would share with us who you believe is smart, Rutherford? 😀

The answer is obvious isn’t it? Romney of course … he beat Gingrich.

  257. Paul Krugman, former adviser to Enron

Mmmm that was news to me. The wiki article on him seems to indicate he was pretty up front about his minimal involvement with Enron.

Be that as it may, it reminded me of someone much more deserving of Tex’s scorn … Bob Schrum. Schrum has not advised a winning campaign since Ted Kennedy beat Mitt Romney. His track record is horrible yet he’s trotted out as a Dem strategist on all the talk shows as if he speaks from some position of success and authority. I always chuckle when he comes on.

I wonder if liberals are more forgiving of failure than conservatives?

  258. re @ 367. Speed of parachute deployment. Speed does not tear things apart; force does. The thin air, with molecules spaced widely, does not create much force, even at a high speed. Ham radio folks used to send up balloons with radio packages and cut the package loose under parachute at about 1000,000′, which they tracked from the ground. Now with GPS it is so easy nobody does it anymore…

re: tumbling. That was expected. The air was so thin that he couldn’t get enough force from the passing air to stabilize his attitude. Chuck Yeager did the same thing, except in an airplane, which was lost; he was nearly lost too. One of the first Starships did the same thing – just rolled and rolled. Fortunately the pilot had aerobatic experience and just went with it until he could stabilize.

re: falling speed. Chart of altitude vs speed of sound:

Baumgardner’s speed increased until upward force from air balanced his weight. By going head-down he was able to exceed Mach 1. My guess is that the air was so thin that the shock wave had very little effect on his person. Just have to see what he says about it, though…

@373. Firstly, it was not a hot air balloon; it was helium. And as the gas ascends into areas of ever-lowering pressure, it expands, occupies more space, and continues to maintain its lift even in the thin air. It is always more buoyant than the air around it, so it can rise until the envelope ruptures from the ever-expanding gas.

Incidentally, one of the first high-altitude experiments was the Echo 1, basically an aluminized mylar balloon used to reflect radio waves downward. My brother worked at – I think it was Dow Chemical – to make the multi-layer envelope for the balloon. Long, long ago.

  259. Sorry if that breaks your heart.

Naahhh, I lose zero sleep over “global warming”. In fact, I find my buddy Chris Hayes a bit hysterical about it. He is so adamant he admits it is the only topic on which he will not book people of an opposing opinion.

With that said I also laugh at the bunch of “deniers” who say “nothing to see here.” To my mind, the science is not settled. Northern land masses shrinking due to rising waters … ice shelves melting in other spots. While I don’t think we should prioritize trillions of dollars toward investigation, I think we completely ignore it at our own risk.

My approach is if the same activities that avoid warming also have other benefits to the ecology then why not pursue them? Romney comes close (but no cigar) to my philosophy. We may be contributing to the problem but right now we have bigger fish to fry. I think that’s his current position. Always hard to tell with Mitt as he is the very definition of a moving target.

  260. James, almost all you want to know about it is here:

    http://www.climatedepot.com/

My firm is involved in some of the litigation of the EPA co2 endangerment findings (DC Circuit). I have spent some time on it. One of my colleagues is an expert on this and the quantity of information is astounding. One thing I can assure is that whatever scientific “consensus” allegedly exists has been whittled down in almost areas of research to “can’t say for sure” or “pure bunk.” The current cooling trend is nothing new. The real question is one of the appropriate period ( to determine whether a true warming cycle exists) and most importantly whether there’s a reasonable scientific basis to conclude that any warming is in fact anthropogenic.

  261. “My approach is if the same activities that avoid warming also have other benefits to the ecology then why not pursue them?”

What effect (cost benefit)? Restricting carbon emissions could be catastrophic from an economic/human toll standpoint.

  262. Pfesser,

I thought the balloon expanding was as cool as the jump. Did you see the size of that thing at altitude? I never did hear what happened with the balloon. Do they cut it loose? I saw the capsule dropping with parachute, but never heard the end result of that either.

  263. All Web-based stuff uses HTML to present the pages and everybody speaks HTML.

That’s a bit of a dodge my man. You’re ignoring the entire Microsoft Office suite as well as Outlook as well as every other Windows based software package. Everything is not web-based. I know you can buy Mac compatible Office products but I strongly suspect they’re not exact duplicates.

Here’s a concrete example that even includes a web based product. Mac users like Keynote instead of PowerPoint. When I started my business, web based webinar providers (Webex or Adobe Connect for example) would upload and translate a PowerPoint slide deck but they would not translate a Keynote slide deck. If I remember correctly I would export the Keynote file as a PPT on my doorstop-of-a-Mac and then upload it to Adobe Connect. That’s an extra step I did not appreciate but webinar software vendors were appealing to the preponderance of businesses which did NOT use Macs.

I’ll say this for Mac fanboys … you can’t find anyone on the PC side with equivalent passion.

  264. Pat 47% Entitled Pat 47% Entitled ‏@patticar

if every action IS met with an equal and opposite reaction ..what should workers do to employers if Romney’s elected? #Riot in the streets!!

  265. Nice try on your chart Tex.

    Rutherford at #215:

“Labor participation rate? Who cares? (-ET)

That might not get Obama reelected but it can’t hurt.”

  266. Rutherford,

Have I mentioned I find it terribly funny you were on brass knuckle progressives radio? 😈

I thought you were already booked on Feather Pillow Progressive radio?

    You killer, you.

  267. 409 is classic. It’s a shame superpacs like American Crossroads are wasting money on comedy. I thought the ad was a spoof until the very end when I saw it was a legit campaign ad. Well at least it’s more sophisticated than the Big Bird ad.

More on Obama/Putin in the next comment.

  268. So here’s the deal. Early voting starts in Illinois next Monday. I’m going to hold out until Tuesday on the off chance that Obama announces in the Monday night debate that he’s merging our country with Russia and appointing Putin co-President. If that happens, I’m voting for Romney. 🙂

  269. I don’t know if it’s my being under the influence of you knuckleheads for the past couple of years but I must confess to a fear that there is a 10% chance of a race riot should Obama lose.

I don’t want it to happen … I dismissed the notion the first time it was brought up on this board (probably by Tex) but as we get closer to November, the more it seems an outside possibility rather than simply absurd.

  270. However let’s not fool ourselves. If Obama wins a second term he will have to double security because of the nutjobs who viewed the election as their last hope to get rid of him and will now resort to other methods.

I’m afraid I don’t see a rosy picture for our country, near term, regardless of what happens on November 6.

  271. I don’t want it to happen … I dismissed the notion the first time it was brought up on this board (probably by Tex)

😆 Always being accused of stirring up trouble around here. I can’t imagine why you would think such a thing.

  272. Remember the days when you could buy an album and sing it to yourself in public?

Well the other day I’m driving in my car and singing a vague approximation of the following lyrics from a new Green Day song:

April Fool, but you’re falling in love
When you’re sucking on a doorknob that I slammed in your face
Life’s a cruel cruisin’ son of a bitch
And you’re a stupid motherfucker Save the shit for the pigs

Since I couldn’t remember the lyrics I found myself inserting “fucking” and “motherfucker” in the various spots I had forgotten. It then occurred to me that anyone looking at me in my car who could read lips had to wonder why I was cursing my head off with no one else in the car to even hear my tirade.

It’s a long way from “You Light Up My Life” 🙂

  273. There are tweet accounts called #nigstomper?

Google it without the #. Apparently it’s quite popular in many contexts. Might even be a musical act from what I saw. 😦

  274. Nice try on your chart Tex.

Tex’s chart does not address the most recent BLS results. I don’t argue that in most prior months, lower unemployment figures were due largely to workforce dropouts. As I said … that was not the case with the September numbers hence the need to grasp for the conspiracy straw.

  275. Always being accused of stirring up trouble around here. I can’t imagine why you would think such a thing.

LOL reminds me of a buddy of mine in computer ops back in the day. Fellow was outspoken and some thought him a pain in the ass. I don’t remember what went wrong in the console room that night but whatever it was, they blamed him. Trouble is … he was taking a class out of town that night. Dude got blamed for sh*t when he wasn’t even there. We had a good laugh about it later.

  276. OK, now that quick college anecdote I promised earlier.

My Expository Writing teacher was teaching us about intellectual honesty. He assigned a poem for us to read (I don’t remember which it was) and he wanted us to write our interpretation of the poem. Bottom line is the poem was impenetrable and total garbage but no one, including myself, had the balls to say so. Everybody twisted themselves in knots to make sense of the poem.

When the assignment was over, the teacher basically mocked all of us and called us intellectual liars. “The poem makes no sense. Why didn’t any of you have the intellectual integrity to say so?”

He felt that was worse than plagiarism. He beat me up on the first of my assignments because he said I “wasn’t there” in the writing. I then wrote a passionate piece on euthanasia (or maybe it was capital punishment, I don’t remember) and he changed his opinion. I learned more about writing in that four month class than I had before … or since.

  277. “As I said … that was not the case with the September numbers hence the need to grasp for the conspiracy straw.”

    I understood your point.

Grasping at straws is looking at the DLS number and thinking it represents something positive about Obama’s handling of the economy or the employment crisis.

  278. Grasping at straws is looking at the DLS number and thinking it represents something positive about Obama’s handling of the economy or the employment crisis.

    OR

Grasping at straws is telling the room the amount of debt had nothing to do with debt downgrades, but a lack of cooperation by those nasty bagger types.

  279. Grasping at straws is trying to misdirect by casting blame on R/R for the Obama administration’s lying and failure of leadership in every respect with respect to the embassies.

  280. Obama is losing female votes he had before? How can that be? After the DNC Convention? After Pfessor so eloquently spoke for women and their interests, mocking the Rabbit as a neanderthal.

I know nobody remembers. But I told you this would happen. The old flower power hairy arm pit boomer chicks don’t speak for today’s woman. God knows I’m not saying I do….but, the old guard on the left does not.

  281. ‘All Web-based stuff uses HTML to present the pages and everybody speaks HTML.

“That’s a bit of a dodge my man. You’re ignoring the entire Microsoft Office suite as well as Outlook as well as every other Windows based software package. Everything is not web-based. I know you can buy Mac compatible Office products but I strongly suspect they’re not exact duplicates.”

That wasn’t your question. Your question I believe dealt with connecting with other computers on the Web, which is no problem.

There is a Mac version of MS Office, which works just fine, so I don’t see what the issue is. The files they generate are cross compatible with MS Office products. I have MS office, butI use Open Office for everything; it does not have any of the annoying problems MS office does.

“I’ll say this for Mac fanboys … you can’t find anyone on the PC side with equivalent passion.”

Nobody’s a fanboy. I just have to have things that work and Mac does that. It’s like admiring the Marines; they just get the job done.

  282. 428, intellectual honesty in another context, will keep you alive. It is the truth.

Politicians need to learn that lesson, and I think Obama soon will. Rutherford, no matter who wins an interesting time will develop. Obama supporters ate tweeting they will riot or even kill Romney if he wins. I think we have forces ready to deal with civil disorder.

The first computer system I learned was Linux. I We used it for three years.

I like Green Day, but you are right about modern music’s being a long way from “You Light Up My Life.” In honor of Felix who jumped twenty four miles, here is Born to be Wasted by 009 Sound System.

“…ain’t worth living if you can’t get your kicks. My life is on fire, but its not enough. We were born to be wasted.”

  283. Grasping at straws is telling the room the amount of debt had nothing to do with debt downgrades, but a lack of cooperation by those nasty bagger types.

Timing is everything. We’ve had debt problems for a while now. The downgrade was triggered by our Congress publicly engaging in an irresponsible clusterf*ck with all the world watching. That’s not conjecture … it was stated in the downgrade opinion. Stay in denial all you like. There is a huge difference between your telling a bank “I know I owe you a lot of money but I’m doing my best to be responsible about it” and “I know I owe you a lot of money and I’m gonna dick around for awhile just to piss off my adversaries.” The bank tends to favor the former over the latter.

Here’s the fact Jack … the GOP would sooner see this country in ruins than let Obama have a single victory. It’s as simple as that … and it started that way the very night of the inauguration. It gets me so angry that I hope if he gets reelected he runs so roughshod over your GOP a$$holes that they won’t know what hit them …. one executive order after another!!!! YOU’RE GONNA F*CK WITH ME? I’LL SHOVE THE CONSTITUTION UP YOUR TIGHT REPUBLICAN ASSES!!! 👿

  284. Here’s the fact Jack … the GOP would sooner see this country in ruins than let Obama have a single victory. It’s as simple as that.

Wrong, but that is a universal truth with you. If it was just the GOP, then Obama would never have had 2 budgets that received zero votes. His own party think he is fucking nuts and wouldn’t vote with him! Also, when you find you have someone that you know is out to decimate the country, you do everything you can to do damage prevention. You block all of the things you know will do significant damage to this country. Better to stall the socialist intentions of this administration than to give in.

  285. Your question I believe dealt with connecting with other computers on the Web, which is no problem.

Sorry PF, my bad if there was a semantic problem. I didn’t mean network connecting ….. I meant doing business with other folks, most of whom use PC’s not Macs. I fully understand the web is the web is the web (for the most part) and that Safari does the trick just as well as Firefox. Again, the specific example I offered you spells out the problem.

But I admit, I’m sufficiently unfamiliar with the Mac of 2012 to defend my case. Perhaps at this point Mac users and PC workers can work seamlessly together.

Does anyone else on the board have any experience to share?

  286. Timing is everything. We’ve had debt problems for a while now.

Obama and his lackeys have added about 40% in 45 months to the debt, after promising to halve it. Add to the fact that sense that time, those “uncompromising baggers” have watched the debt go up another $1.3 trillion in a little over a year.

So your analogy of “we’re working on it” is like someone filing for bankruptcy then buying themselves a Ferrari while telling the bank they were cutting back.

I’ve already resigned myself to the fact you would lie, cheat, steal, maybe even sacrifice yourself than suffer the humiliation of admitting your philosophy failed. This is your religion.

You’re a little man with an inferiority complex, suffering from a terminal case of cognitive dissonance. 😐

You haven’t been much truthful in at least two years.

  287. R opined: “Here’s the fact Jack … the GOP would sooner see this country in ruins than let Obama have a single victory.”

No. HERE’s the fact: The country IS in ruins because of a single Obama victory.

“YOU’RE GONNA F*CK WITH ME? I’LL SHOVE THE CONSTITUTION UP YOUR TIGHT REPUBLICAN ASSES!!!”

They can hurt you a lot worse – by making you abide by it.

  288. Here is another fact. That presidential poser is a coward and a liar. Hillary has now taken the blame for Bengazi in an attempt to blunt Romney’s attacks in tonight’s debates.

“Fog of war” my foot. She was in no more danger than when she and Chelsea took sniper fire at an airport in the former Yugoslavia. The counsolate was under attack for six hours, and our adminisitration did nothing except lie and obfuscate? Even worse, they left the counsulate unguarded for days. CNN reporters, not our government found Ambasador Steven’s diary, and information which identified Libyans who helped us.

Obama is Capt Masey, and even he felt remorse at the end. I don’t believe Obama has it in him.

I have known of the left’s moral bankruptcy since the Vietnam War. The South Vietnamese had faith that we would never desert them. They fought with the methods we taught them, and held the North to a stalemate. President Ky accused the US of abandoning his country after Kissinger negotiated a peace plan and was nomiinated for a Nobel Peace Prize. He was right. All Nixon cared about was winning an election.

After Nixon’s resignation, Ford was too weak to stop the anti war generation of Democrats who won the next election. One was our esteemed Iowa Senator, Tom Harken who lied about being in combat when he was not. He also was one of the movers who stopped aid to South Vietnam.

One result was a crowd of panicked South Vietnamese who had helped us and were in danger. We left them standing outside of our embassy with promises of of free passage which never came. Desperate helicopter pilots, some with families inside and people hanging from beneath landed on our air craft carriers. When their was no room, they ditched at sea. Pilots lowered their helicopters to a few feet over the water and jumped out as they hoped their helicopters would not land on top of them.

Montenard tribesmen were effective fighters who saved many allied lives.I talked to an air man who had coordinated operations with some of them. As Viet Cong overran their bases, they radioed for help they knew would come because it always had.The airman could only end communications.

I talked to one of the boat people. Their boat was capsized in a storm. He had to chose between saving his mother and his sister.

More than one North Vietnamese leader said they won the war on America’s college campuses. Liberals like the old grannies have bloody hands, but they are too obtuse to know it.

Hillary, Obama, Rice, and the rest do not deserve to keep their jobs. They are morally bankrupt and incompetent. They would sell out us all out if they had to. That is a fact.

I like you and thor, but I need to be alone now. I am checking out for today so I won’t write something inflamitory..

  289. Thanks for the video, Rutherford. Little gestures like that are even more reason to like you. You are better than the crowd you hang out with.

The video reminds me of something else which sickens me. “They gave their lives for their country.” Their lives were taken from them, and they died because they screwed up, were unlucky, didn’t want to appear weak in front of their units, or were trying to save their fellow fighters.

our base was shutting down, and it was difficult to maintain life as it was supposed to be. I knew I would never again be a medic again, and they needed me, so after I out processed, I kept working when someone needed me.

As a matter of fact, while in my dress blues, with a bus ready to take us to the flight line, I was helping med evac a woman bleeding to death. All I did was help carry her stretcher. I wonder if she survived. She was Capt Masey’s wife, and given what happened to some of the others, I wondered if it was some form of devine retribution.

Again, thanks for the video. I really appreciate it.

  290. “YOU’RE GONNA F*CK WITH ME? I’LL SHOVE THE CONSTITUTION UP YOUR TIGHT REPUBLICAN ASSES!!!”

Yeah. That’ll learn us. That’ll learn us good! 😆

So the polls not looking good or is there too much of Obama’s incompetence being reported? Your rage is always a sign of some insecurity.

  291. I’ve said many derogatory things about Obama over the last four years, all true mind you. Feckless and dangerous, grossly incompetent, unAmerican, unable to admit mistake, politically correct blamer, not terribly bright, self absorbed and narcissistic. I find zero good qualities in Obama as leader.

But it wasn’t until yesterday, that I realized Obama has one more bad attribute I never have called him.

    Coward.

This Benghazi coverup, and that is exactly what it is, gets worse by the day. I have to assume that Hillary Clinton has grown weary of politics and will retire one way or another in three months. She basically ended her political career yesterday. No doubt as rotten as Hillary Clinton is, she’s got more balls than her boss and would have made a better President. How could she be worse?

But allowing an appointed Sec. of Defense to fall on a dull sword to cover for the irresponsibility and naivety of a megalomaniac and scam artist, I thought even beneath Barack Obama. Barack Obama has endangered our children through his stupidity and massive arrogance. Feh!

Obama is a sociopath – I’m completely convinced of that.

  292. I think we might see a major rift in the Dimocrat party and the Obimination administration. I will be surprised that (A) Bill lets Obama throw Hillery under the bus (B) the intelligence community takes it on the chin.

Personally, I think the last people you want to piss of is the intelligence community. I foresee leaks in the coming days/weeks.

Bill is also not known for letting people off the hook. I seem to remember someone not surviving a Bill Clinton Presidency under suspicious circumstances.

  293. I’ll be surprised if Obama’s blame casting won’t backfire since it defines his presidency and speaks volumes about what folks will get going forward.

Hillary was just a racist anyway. 🙄

  294. Rutherford, if you do not do a single other thing today, I would request that you read this article from The Telegraph:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/us-politics/9513687/We-should-tune-in-to-the-Romney-and-Ryan-show.html

A friend sent it to me; I am agog at how dead-on it is. This snippet sums it up perfectly:

“The crash of 2008 exposed a devastating truth that went much deeper than the discovery of a generation of delinquent bankers, or a transitory property bubble. It has become apparent to anyone with a grip on economic reality that free markets simply cannot produce enough wealth to support the sort of universal entitlement programmes which the populations of democratic countries have been led to expect. The fantasy may be sustained for a while by the relentless production of phoney money to fund benefits and job-creation projects, until the economy is turned into a meaningless internal recycling mechanism in the style of the old Soviet Union.”

Or, as my father always said, You Can Ride Even A Good Horse To Death. Giddyap, Dobbin.

  295. If I had to pick a group that I would put dead last in line to complain about having civil discourse, it Would be the Left. Look at R, look at fat grannies. These are the most uncivilized nasty haters I have met anywhere.

  296. Talk about desperate, fake volunteering at an empty soup kitchen cleaning CLEAN dishes. What a dope.

“We’re a faith-based organization; we are apolitical because the majority of our funding is from private donations,” Antal said in a phone interview Monday afternoon. “It’s strictly in our bylaws not to do it. They showed up there, and they did not have permission. They got one of the volunteers to open up the doors.”

He added: “The photo-op they did wasn’t even accurate. He did nothing. He just came in here to get his picture taken at the dining hall.”

Ryan had stopped by the soup kitchen for about 15 minutes on his way to the airport after his Saturday morning town hall in Youngstown. By the time he arrived, the food had already been served, the patrons had left, and the hall had been cleaned.

Upon entering the soup kitchen, Ryan, his wife and three young children greeted and thanked several volunteers, then donned white aprons and offered to clean some dishes. Photographers snapped photos and TV cameras shot footage of Ryan and his family washing pots and pans that did not appear to be dirty.

  297. That’s desperation to you Thor?

How about throwing your State Dept. Under the Bus, or declaring “that every cent of the Tarp funds have been repaid” the very same day the CBO said it had a $23 billion shortfall, or claiming GM was a success, or. . . pretending that the economy is “roaring towards recovery?”

Now for the tough guy talk. . . 🙄

  298. Taken a good look at Biden’s charitable contributions when nobody is looking, Thor?

Less than 1%. Same with Al Gore. Same with Obama before 2004.

My wife and I have been far more charitable than those listed above.

So I suppose I am more qualified to be President than any of them.

    Right?

  299. Obama raised more money than Romney in September.

Maybe O can win back some of the women’s vote with this ad.

    or this one

“The reason Latinos don’t want to vote for you isn’t because you’re white, it’s because your policies SUCK.”

    Well done Rosie.

  300. I think the Hugo Chavez endorsement, in conjunction with the Hamas and François Hollande praise of El Bongo was far more effective to garner the Leftist vote.

    Viva El Bongo!!!

  301. Fuck you Rosie!!! The Romney policies towards Latinos is what exactly? meanwhile where was Rosie when the O-Boyz were all screaming about how many illegals they were deporting.
The Latino vote is a myth and the evolution of that demographic is one that will take a relevant and bipartisan path contrary to the blue nuts stammering.

  302. A serious question for any females that wander into here.
Is your vagina and uterus really the only defining points about you? If so doesn’t that kind of alter the equality equation?

  303. You’d think herr Hugo would be rooting for Romney. a) Romney clearly the better choice for trade initiatives. b) also the clear and credible candidate for more devil yankee dog comments from the banana republic.
Perhaps contrary to the proponents of Keystone the reality of more oil from the tar sands instead of his swamps is what really rattles the red shirted monkeys cage.

  304. Haven’t you noticed the blatant racism and sexism of the Rosie Perez types, Alfie? The beta males like Thor and Rutherford don’t. For some reason this election season, I’ve noted the Libs seem to be infatuated with the mention of vaginas – the party of Vagina Monologues. From Fat Grannies to Hollywood, they’ve become smitten with their vaginas like small children.

Frankly, I think they’re personally smitten with the wrong side. Now if they had mentioned their infatuation with their anuses, I could have understood that. It’s where they live and celebrate.

I don’t even know who Rosie Perez is. Should I?

Looks to me like a worn out breeder. 😛

  305. Has been feisty latina who was ruthlessly type cast. What she has done lately is lost on me.

As for the OB/GYN stuff,my question holds. I think it speaks volumes to the value systems and hyphen subsets rife in the blue column. Go figure that the alleged misogynists of the red column think females might have more at stake in an election than what can be stuffed into their vaginas or what can be washed out of their uterus and when. Taxes, security, the economy the rest of the freaking world….none of that matters just my pills and pussy say the DNC.

I saw something @ the BBC. There is a study showing a link that the more creative types are higher incident mental illness types.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19959565
from a purely empirical stance I’d ask…haven’t we always known?

  306. thor I think in your partisanship you are being overly unfair. Perhaps you’d turn that on me and say I’m doing the same in reverse.
As for Ryan at a photo op- a schedule isn’t perfect. I remember an incident once when Prince Charles was touring America. He went to Pittsburgh to view the rebirth of the skyline etc. The weather was super duper storybook London fog stuff. You couldn’t see a fucking thing. But lo and behold the schedule dictated standing on a bridge for x minutes looking at the skyline and speaking to the press and officials.
So running around with an entourage which includes SS recon and escort, yeah a schedule is what it is.
I’ll have to let it sit that my history speaks that I’d be fair to Obama in the same circumstances.

  307. Rosie Perez makes the case for you?

    Wow.

    Rosie O’Donnell too.

The Film Actors Guild. Thank goodness you guys are loaded for Bear. Turns out Romney is rich and ethnic preference doesn’t exist.

  308. Why hide within well worn Lib Vaginas when there may be a few more important issues at hand? Like Obama’s broken 2008 debate promises.

A few of these need to be mentioned this evening:

    (1) I’m cutting more than I’m spending
    (2) I want to go through the budget line by line, eliminate programs that don’t work, and make programs that do work cost less.
    (3) I want to reform Medicare and Social Security by the end of my first term as president.
    (4) On Green Energy: “We can create 5 million new jobs.”

    With proof:

    http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/obamas-2008-town-hall-debate-promises

  309. “Obama raised more money than Romney in September.”

But to be fair to Romney, Obama is a professional fund raiser. He has been campaigning non stop since 2008. More fund raising in just his term as President than the last 5 Presidents combined. And you brag about this Thor?

Great Article PF. One of my favorite parts:

” It has become apparent to anyone with a grip on economic reality that free markets simply cannot produce enough wealth to support the sort of universal entitlement programmes which the populations of democratic countries have been led to expect. The fantasy may be sustained for a while by the relentless production of phoney money to fund benefits and job-creation projects, until the economy is turned into a meaningless internal recycling mechanism in the style of the old Soviet Union.”

  310. Based on the discourse here and at other sites, I guess it just gets nastier from here on out. The soup kitchen charade was just one of the many deceptions BOTH sides have participated in. The longer this goes on the less respect I have for anything politic. These trivial pursuits are damning but the bigger problem I have with the Rmoney/Rayn campaign is lesser known but a major part of my neo-con watch and is well summarized here:

    http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2012/10/09/265722/911-criminals-run-romney-campaign/

As for Hugo Chavez, he won by democratic means. Probably a more honest election than any we have experienced in some time. I think voter turnout was at 80 percent, something unheard of in our supposed “democratic” nation. You may not like him, but the people he governs have spoken, once again. It is their country and we need to let them determine their own affairs. I know that isn’t our usual way, as we have always undermined everybody else’s governments by putting in our man or woman or inciting terror.

re 469, seems a bit rude. Men have so many penis points governing their everyday actions, it seems only fair to claim female pieces parts do play into women’s daily decisions, whether consciously or not. What is war if not a total testosterone influenced endeavor? A huge bit of penis posturing. At times I have even questioned Hillary’s equipment based on her bloodlustiness.

Rape is generally a big part of any military campaign. It poses a problem even in times of peace with military minded men. So, I can see where women would become somewhat defensive and protective regarding their female parts.

  311. Did Rutherford really say he hopes Obama turns America into a tyrannical state and “sticks the Constitution” up our asses?

Sheesh…..when you look at history and the fragility of democracy, Rutherford’s comment really cuts to the chase. Dude would rather support Obama like some thug in the street chanting Nasser or Pinochet.

Scary, when you think about it.

  312. There it is folks. In a moment of desperation, we get the mother of all excuses from Rutherford. It’s not Obama’s fault, it’s democracy’s! Fuck that constitution! Rule of law! Balance of power! Get it all out of the way and let Obama be Obama, maaan.

Oooooh! What a scary black shirt thug you are Rutherford!

My next gun I buy will be in honor of Rutherford’s deeply embedded urge to suck a tyrant’s cock.

  313. It is worthy of note Rutherford did not denounce that twitter link claiming the black community’s responsibility to riot and fuck shit up.

  314. poolman 482 you are so completely fucked up on every point I don’t know if I should even bother.
First you have completely taken the vagina thing out of context and reality. It is clear to anyone but the most ardent democrat and perhaps an above average America hater that the Left has totally and completely linked having a vagina and or uterus as being the singular policy point in a females mind. I find this to be ridiculous as well as very condescending.
Your Venezuela analysis is lacking but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that it is primarily due to the thread format of dialog. Chavez is corrupt and is a dictator.
The elections speak more to the people than a system especially this last one which saw many people bravely oppose the chavistas. As for turnout….apples and oranges man. Brazil makes it illegal to not vote and many nations make election day a holiday or open polls on a weekend. US turnout has nothing to do with your paranoia and everything to do with US laziness and apathy.
Lastly….I for one am sickened and somewhat saddened by your blind embrace of international propaganda entities. Now to be honest if you spontaneously combusted I really would not care but still if you are to be taken serious perhaps you should offer up something other than proven Iranian and Russian propaganda. There is plenty of credible information out there to meet your needs, citing RT and PressTV only shows you to be a shallow vessel for the haters and discredits totally anything you say you believe in via Ron Paul et al. Digest that a little before you reflexive, knee jerk prattle. All things between us considered I actually offer it as semi-friendly advice.

  315. Obama and his lackeys have added about 40% in 45 months to the debt bla bla bla …

Yup, I get a lecture when you can’t back up your original thesis. Debt didn’t move S&P … our f*cking around in public did. And that sits in the lap of your GOP.

  316. Your rage is always a sign of some insecurity.

No in that case the rage was a sign of the amnesia lifting. Every now and then I forget how irresponsible the GOP has been since day 1 of this administration. To say your TOP priority is to deny the current POTUS a second term is reprehensible.

  317. “To say your TOP priority is to deny the current POTUS a second term is reprehensible.”

Why. His policies will destroy us.

Wasn’t removing Bush then preventing McCain a top priority for the dems?

  318. Speaking of amnesia, I noticed Rutherford lied about Alan West drawing first blood…

Several months ago, the cop punching punk West is running against came out with commercial of Alan West punching white women.

I guess that in Dimocratic circles, that passes as fair discourse. It doesn’t in my book.

And yes. Since the first day that Obama was elected, to deny Obama a chance of fucking up the country eight years instead of four has been a priority of mine. And since Obama has been even worse than imagined as the most contemptible President in U.S. History, it became an even bigger priority.

  319. Here is the simple problem in the exchange between U.S. Army Major Mike Faessler and Jennifer Granholm. Most of the content in his second note should have been in his first note. But like a typical GOPher asshat, he’d prefer to leave a steaming pile of dung outside someone’s door than to have a civilized conversation.

He might have won on points but Granholm won on class. And I’m only assuming based on his background that he won on points. He may have his “head up his ass”.

  320. Lying for the administration = class?

Well then. No need to respond. His tone was offensive says the guy that wants to shove the Constitution up the GOP’s ass. 😆

  321. Rutherford with all due respect I have to repeat my suggestion you step back and post up on something apolitical.
@ 501 you are completely illogical. Winning on class isn’t even on the scoreboard for crying out loud..That comment of yours reeks of the inane “everyone gets trophy” shit that has killed America. Granholm cited something stupid and played a bet she wouldn’t be called on it. As a citizen the major has a right to say what and how anything he likes.
As for your 492 and all of its previous forms. You really don’t have your head screwed on right regards the two party adversarial system we have. The thought the POTUS of any party is owed carte blanche is a sickness. Get me a POTUS elected with a clear mandate and I’ll give you a little leeway. That has not happened since Reagan and isn’t likely to happen anytime soon.

  322. re 486, Alfie you probably shouldn’t bother. If you don’t think our media outlets are sources of propaganda, then there is no debate. I find the information offered in the linked report from PressTV consistent with information I’ve obtained from other sources.

Rabbi Dov Zakheim is a powerful and corrupt dual citizen that tries to operate behind the scenes but has been found to have his hand in some very controversial and conspiratorial events during his time in our government institutions.

I also understand the US spin that mostly regards Chavez a dictator, but he has been democratically elected time and again and did come from the lower class of poor citizens that support him, unlike many we’ve placed in positions of dictatorship throughout central and south America. It isn’t anything new. The PTB have been MANipulating™ us behind the scenes for sometime.

  323. Just a point of order….the majority of the information I have used to form my opinions of Hugo Chavez comes from friends in Venezuela. The remainder comes from sources across the full spectrum of sources ranging from regional press, international media both mainstream and off the beaten path and academics who fall amongst a swathe of pro-Hugo,anti-Hugo pro NAM/socialism,and straight anti-Chavez.
Anything consistent with PressTV = Jew hating,America hating pro-Iranian jihad so have fun with that.I’ve caught them in a number of easily researched lies…they are by far the worse Iranian media entity and I say that with a clear conscience. FARS and others even with the Onion debacle are better.
My opinion of and position on the US MSM is not one of wide acceptance and embrace. Observing you for some time now it is clear that your info streams are not as varied or deep as you want folks to believe.
Update your anti virus software and take a stroll amongst a number of these, don’t pick just one
    http://www.thebigproject.co.uk/news/middle%20east%20newspapers%20in%20english.html

  324. Just got back from my little guy’s early preschool potluck dinner. They can’t get people to take the para pro teacher assistant jobs. One of the veteran teachers told me in 30 years they have never had a problem finding people to do this job. She said that they also can’t get nursing assistants in old people’s homes. I was shocked that in this economy they had to go begging for people at job fairs. Turns out it has become much easier to get welfare. So much so, that they can’t get people to work these kinds of jobs. 10 percent unemployment and tons of job vacancies. Hope and change at it’s best. It might not be 47%. But there is a chunk of people choosing to live on the dole. And, Romney need not worry about getting their votes. When the public school teachers working early childhood programs that I assume are subsidized by Nanny are complaining about welfare (trust me, these people weren’t conservatives) we got a problem.

  325. @469 What a loaded question. A vagina and uterus define a female as a penis defines a male which does alter the equality equation. Of course these body parts are not the only defining points but they can’t be ignored as part of the whole. There are cultures that turned boys into eunuchs which became a “defining” point to those males.
The right of a male to determine the use of his penis is no different that the right of a woman to determine the use of her vagina and uterus. The brain should be the defining point of the human but you have to admit that there are times those above mentioned body parts rule. They say the penis has a mind if it’s own which really could alter the equality equation. 😉

With that said which was intended to be tongue in cheek,The Vagina Monologues are just the symbol of the day. It defines women’s rights just as bra burning did. It represents the “whole”. If women in this country were not allowed an education their symbol would be similar to the Pakistan girl now laying in a hospital.

My question back is why shouldn’t women be concerned that laws may take away their rights to make decisions regarding their body? No man has that concern but that man has the power to rule over a woman’s rights. Many women who are pro life be they conservative or liberal do not want to see these rights taken away.

To answer your question, the vagina and uterus are not defining points but they are symbols of women’s rights. It would be condescending to think otherwise.

  326. Thank you Raji but please keep in mind that the context is purely political and purely that abortion and birth control are seemingly seen by the Left as all woman care about and all that needs to be addressed to get their vote.
In a parallel manner although gays and lesbians overwhelmingly support Obama & Co. when pressed with real questions the “gay issues” come in 4th with real issues topping out the high spots.
I’m trying to be a dick here (pardon the metaphor or whatever) are woman really just Flukes or is there something more. The women in my life are far more concerned with the economy than any false threats towards their anatomy/physiology.

  327. Back to some of your points though…
The right of a male to determine the use of his penis is no different that the right of a woman to determine the use of her vagina and uterus.
I disagree. In fact I think women have an obvious additional burden secondary to their unique position in society/humanity.
There are cultures that turned boys into eunuchs which became a “defining” point to those males.
Kind of a red herring. I could counter with the cultural horror of FGM. Your eunuchs were in a caste system with slavery twist that I don’t believe is equaled by the FGM scenario.FWIW I find the latter far more out of line.

  328. re 506, I am familiar with some of those sources in your link, Alfie. I know many to be propaganda sources, both direct and indirectly. The main thing to note with many news sources today is who owns them. Many are owned by the same people. Others have changed hands and do not operate as they would have prior to that change in ownership. Aljazeera (from your list) and Huffpo are two popular ones that were recently sold.

I find it often boils down to individual journalistic integrity. Most journalists are certainly prejudiced and do have more knowledge about certain topics than others. Understanding that helps me get a broader picture. Expressing that knowledge sometimes censors their writings. I have a big interest in hearing from those that are censored. Most mainstream sources employ personalities to read narratives and they are not tasked to perform any research or detective work. Most Americans repeat what they have been told. I think it is a lazy and hypnotic position to operate from. But then there’s strength in numbers, right?

  329. And in answer to your question
My question back is why shouldn’t women be concerned that laws may take away their rights to make decisions regarding their body? No man has that concern but that man has the power to rule over a woman’s rights. Many women who are pro life be they conservative or liberal do not want to see these rights taken away.
First and foremost if women fail to embrace their uniqueness or worse only do so when it is convenient I don’t see why they should be granted equality.
Second men and women who propose antiabortion laws are more concerned about the life being ended without a choice. Again this arena offers a taste of the hypocrisy. Someone can abort their baby/fetus/cell growth but if an accident or crime causes the same THEN its an issue?!?!?!
Third, let me clear up any misunderstandings of the context of my earlier query. Is free birth control and abortion on demand really the two most pressing, nah ONLY things that matter to you as a female?
I see no reason to believe anybody connected with the Democrat Machine thinks so….so please let me know.
Seriously Raji, all said and done I am truly grateful you put forth a response…thank you

  330. PF Ms. Daley’s piece in the Telegraph is very eloquent but this comment troubles me: the myth of a democratic socialist society funded by capitalism is finished. This is the defining political problem of the early 21st century.

I’m not ready to throw in the towel. I’m not ready to accept that premise.

  331. poolman I think the single thing we’ll agree on is that anyone relying on any one or two sources is a fool. History has proven those that know this to be true use it to their advantage. (Hitler,Stalin,Hussein…) To your shock perhaps I also believe that throughout our history it was used. (ABC,CBS,AP,NBC,NYT,Hearst….)
I meant what I said earlier…if you like Iran use Tehran Times or FARS or IRIB,you instantly sully yourself with PTV who undoubtedly will be singing their victim song as Europe initiates the banning of them

  332. toss that towel R. the two have evolved to the point where further walks down the lane hand in hand are over. See France for starters, they are the prequel to the decision all of Europe will be facing very very soon.

  333. re 515, I have plenty of links to news sources of all slants. I like to know what everyone is spinning. I can usually sense bullshit pretty quick. That doesn’t stop my reading, but colors my take. It’s also good to know from where everyone is getting their rhetoric.

Sometimes the most accepted sources are generally the ones to trip you up. I find the most persuasive propaganda to generally hold up to truth scrutiny and contain only subtle derailments that are mostly overlooked and often excused but usually intended. I like reading between the lines. I also have been on both sides of a sales pitch, which I feel is an advantage.

  334. Michelle Obama may be even more awful and dismal than her feckless husband. The worst excuse for 1st Lady to match the historical worst President.

First, Shelly tells us earlier this week that we are in the midst of a huge economic recovery. Then today, she tells us Obama doesn’t have a huge ego.

    http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/10/flotus-barack-doesnt-have-a-big-ego-138661.html

    😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Then Shelly Antoinette believes Brack is the second coming of Reagan. So somebody checked. 😈

  335. Alfie, it depends on who you are referring to as the “Left”. The women in my environment which includes three daughters are also concerned with the economy but they are also concerned with women’s rights. The issues of abortion and birth control are not factors in their life but the plight of other women are a concern of theirs. Although I sometimes think they are more concerned about their cats than humans 🙂 They do believe in spay and neuter.

By the way some of those eunuchs were choir boys. Again my whole point was the entire context is a symbol and as you said purely political. Yes, there are women who are really Flukes but maybe those are the ones you see in the Media. My species is not always admirable.

“Is free birth control and abortion on demand really the two most pressing, nah ONLY things that matter to you as a female?”
In my and my daughters and my friends world which spans quite a demographic (you have no idea how vast that world is 😉 those issues are NOT even an issue or a demand.

I do think my daughters feel that there should be spay and neuter clinics available at reasonable prices for the “critters” and if humans continue to propagate without regard for the consequences it might help to have similar clinics.

  336. “James, 443 was well said. Hillary has sung her swan song.”

Raji way too simplistic analysis. First we have to assume Libya keeps getting traction. Second Hillary emerges as the responsible grown up willing to step up. It COULD play very well for her.

  337. The Ryan soup kitchen fiasco wasn’t desperate. It was pathetic in its attempt to make Ryan sympathetic to the common man.

Romney and Ryan stop faking it. You’re for the rich guy. Just admit it and get on with it.

  338. Alfie the soup kitchen thing has zero to do with schedule and everything to do with image manipulation. They showed up unannounced and uninvited. They endangered the future existence of the charity.

Rank hypocrisy bit them in the ass.

  339. Rabbit nice job at misrepresenting the MEANING of what I said.

I said if the GOP don’t want to honestly participate in democracy then they deserve to be f*cked over by any means necessary.

See what you did? You made me up the ante to Malcolm X.

  340. No. You trashed the Constitution, and by default democracy. You don’t like Congress? Me either. Vote um out. Not unleash a presidency trampling on rule of law.

Funny how different me and you are. Your bravado entails giving power to a man. My bombast usually revolves around taking power and giving it to back to the people.

  341. Rutherford the updates seem to be on my side
    http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/10/16/14485409-ryan-did-wash-dirty-dishes-during-soup-kitchen-visit?lite
Ryan had permission but it turns out by someone without authority.
Secret Service did check the place out and mount an op.
Ryan did indeed wash dirty dishes as the charity head has altered prior statement.
Charity is a known Catholic thing. OMFG that Ryan would pick them.
Opp was meant to expand on the concept of volunteerism.
FWIW when Romney became Gov he went to a veterans shelter to serve meals. I don’t know if it was the one he paid the milk bill for but I do know it is the one he gave 10k to to help it survive when it was facing a 190k debt.

  342. “Four dead Americans and Hillary takes responsibility. Why is she still in office?”

What kind of imbecile are you? The top person always takes responsibility and then fixes the problem.

Did the head of the CIA resign over 9/11? Did Bush resign over botched reaction to Katrina? Did he fire the FEMA guy? Heckuva job Brownie.

With this Clinton comment you’ve removed all doubt of your limited intelligence. I’m truly conflicted between being angry at your stupidity and laughing at it. 👿

  343. Rutherford you said:
Here’s the fact Jack … the GOP would sooner see this country in ruins than let Obama have a single victory. It’s as simple as that … and it started that way the very night of the inauguration. It gets me so angry that I hope if he gets reelected he runs so roughshod over your GOP a$$holes that they won’t know what hit them …. one executive order after another!!!! YOU’RE GONNA F*CK WITH ME? I’LL SHOVE THE CONSTITUTION UP YOUR TIGHT REPUBLICAN ASSES!!!
    So rabbit is right

  344. And lets be clear about what the St Vinnie de Paul in Ohio is afraid of…. That liberal leaning catholic fuck bags who turn their eyes away from the Bible, hum past the gates of homosexual pedophilia and want a church to conform to their desires as opposed to the centuries old doctrine and dogma may allocate their scant offerings elsewhere.
Here’s a little church humor for you.
Theres three bills in a wallet. A twenty a five and a one. they get to talking about where they will soon be “living”.
The 20 is going to the bar,the fin to 7/11 and ole George is going to church.

  345. bless your optimism Rutherford. You a) believe the Libya thing won’t hurt BHO. b) that a shrivelled and belittled Hill can make the scene in 2016.
FWIW I agree that she shouldn’t can’t be fired. I don’t see her there in January if her master wins though and she has got to know that. the fact that State is so totally fucked regards security (see ET earlier link re Afghanistan ramp up instead of a wrap up) and you might imagine she doesn’t want this job after November anyway

  346. bless your optimism Rutherford. You a) believe the Libya thing won’t hurt BHO. b) that a shrivelled and belittled Hill can make the scene in 2016.

Truly Conservatives going the way of The Whigs worthy.

  347. “But like a typical GOPher asshat, he’d prefer to leave a steaming pile of dung outside someone’s door than to have a civilized conversation.”

Rutherford, the walking contradiction that he is, it is worthy of note his derogatory term for the GOP. Note who it is who has been raining shit down on everyone here, personal shit, and a universal inability to address their points. Note fat grannies who Ruthehrford has become. That pile of dung he spoke of has the scent of a failed haaarvud business man upon it. ”

Prof. Showing respect for Rutherford while on his porch? I think we should show equal respect. Here is Rutherford’s respect to us in his own words

“What kind of imbecile are you?”
“With this Clinton comment you’ve removed all doubt of your limited intelligence.”
“I’m truly conflicted between being angry at your stupidity and laughing at it.”
“he runs so roughshod over your GOP a$$holes”
“OU’RE GONNA F*CK WITH ME? I’LL SHOVE THE CONSTITUTION UP YOUR TIGHT REPUBLICAN ASSES!!!”
“I hope she punches you in the mouth.”

Next. Rutherford claims that all of us who rely on other sources of news than what he watches, makes us stupid. Fox in particular makes us stupid. I would like to quote Mr. Haaaarvud.

“First of all, don’t go all GOP on me and overstate your case. That is the fatal flaw of the Fox News crowd, they don’t know when to quit while they’re ahead. There is no evidence that the uprising at the Egyptian embassy or any other besides Libya was caused by anything other than the video.”

“We all know the religious leaders used the video to stoke the unrest. In fact the majority of rioters hadn’t seen the video, they were going on the inflammatory remarks of their religious leaders. And yes, 9/11 was the perfect day for these folks to stoke unrest. That still is NOT a terrorist attack in the sense of what happened in Libya.”

Seems yet again the Fox viewer was not only more informed, but they were more informed weeks in advance of Mr. Haaaarvud.

  348. And the award for most improved performance goes to Oblama!

No doubt R will consider this enough to declare a win.

Going to watch it a couple more times before I give a complete thought but I do have a few initial thoughts.

Why was it when Gas went to almost $2.00/gallon under GW Bush people were always crying about how Bush has his hands in the oil industry but when gas prices have risen to $4.00/gallon under Obama its just crickets chirp chirp chirp?

Libya. So we know the Obimination administration has lied. Obama slipped and told a lie tonight. Lies all around. To me this stinks as bad as F&F. We know a crime was perpetrated in F&F. By use of EP we know Oblama is complicit in that crime in some form. I think too Oblama has a lot to answer for Libya.

Initial thoughts put Romney in the win category. Oblama had canned responses. Responses that were all he had as shown when Romney already answered to Oblama’s response before he gave it, and Oblama delivered the canned response anyway. Romney in turn gave what I think was a brilliant answer to his plan to reform the tax code and stimulate the economy. Substance is king, thus Romney takes the night.

  349. All I can say is you didn’t get your punching bag Obama this time. And the best part is Obama got to end on 47% leaving Romney standing but bloody.

It’s also beautiful that, to paraphrase, Obama told Romney “as a successful businessman you wouldn’t buy your own sketchy bullshit.”

I haven’t read any other comments yet tonight but I don’t need to. You guys are sure your guy won. Congrats and keep dreaming. 😉

  350. R, the comment was rhetorical dumbass. She’s agreed to be scapegoated to rescue Obama from the backlash of his inability to shoot straight. Too nuanced? Obama dodged responsibility and as tossed his own State Dept. under the bus.

You seriously need a break before you bust an aorta. The dumbest shit existing on the Internet at this moment has been written by you in this thread. Give it a rest. I get you have a grudge. But since I really ain’t too bright you can have much more fun if you’d up your game a little. The tantrums and childish name calling are beneath you. Really.

BTW, Brown was forced to resign.

  351. I cringed when Libya was shoved down Oblamo’s throat. A totally missed opportunity because Romney stuck his chin out then didn’t follow up with the obvious question: “if you believed it was an act of terror, why weren’t you out there correcting the statements being made by your own peeps?” I am now seeing that tomorrows coverage will likely make it a source of considerable discussion — discussion Obama doesn’t want to consume the public’s attention.

  352. Candy Crowley already admitted her mistake. She, like President Food Stamp, was wrong.

Romney missed the opportunity because the despicable Candy Crowley bailed Obama out. If there was ever any doubt that Candy Crowley is part of the LSM, that was removed tonight.

Only one problem. The last debate is foreign policy. Buwahahahhahahaah.

And I fully expect Romney to come loaded with Benghazi Bear. Our little pipsqueak for blog operator can poo poo this all he wants. This is a cover up way worse than Watergate.

But Obama is on record six times mentioning the video as cause two weeks after the murder at the U.N. – never once referring to the act and terrorism. It’s not debatable. If the shoe on the other foot, Romney would have been forced to resign.

Obama is about to get his ass lit up. Tonight’s Benghazi debacle may actually work in Romney’s favor as it becomes the main issue of the 3rd debate.

Rutherford, like he did after the Biden debate, confused aggression with strength. We are now 3 hours into a debate and not once has Obama said what he would do any different than the last four miserable years. Romney called him on it tonight. Obama went off on some tangent but offered no plan. You simply can’t defend this abysmal record of Obama’s and be truthful.

Like I said today. If Dims think a wild Obama was the winner which I knew they would as they are desperate and see the election getting away from them, let them think that. On substance, Romney was the clear winner.

Obama lied about so many things, the immigration, the hydrocarbons and federal permits, the job creation, I lost interest and watched the ballgame, then watched the playback.

Let a couple of days sink in.

  353. Tigre, one other thing to consider. And why the dumbasses who make up the regulatory part of the RNC continue to do this, I have no idea.

A “Town Hall” style presidential debate with questions provided by “undecided” voters in NY state? Questions selected by a moderator who had previously declared the challenger’s ticket to be a “death wish”?

That’s a level playing field? We’ve probably seen the last of the ‘Townhall’ debates.

I thought Romney did very well considering the circumstances. I think that will show in the next few days, though I’m never sure that I have a pulse on America like I used to.

I don’t even understand why the election close since Romney clearly destroyed the character myth weak swills like Rutherford helped press without challenge for four months.

  354. I am watching the playback now. The Crowley intercession was worse the second time for me. I was out of line, intended throw a hp into it, wrong, and shows why biased media figures shouldn’t handle these. Sheesh. These Town Hall debates always suck.

  355. Candy Crowley already admitted her mistake.

LOL another dumbass Red State reader I see. 🙂 Candy did no such thing. I heard her on CNN and she stood by what she did. It was Romney who f*cked up by sticking to his original assertion that the President didn’t say “acts of terror” when in fact that is EXACTLY what he said. Romney SHOULD have said that contextually the President was calling a reaction to a video an act of terror and that it was NOT a reaction to a video. But Romney got cocky and limited his argument to those exact words “acts of terror” and he got rightly busted by Candy.

If you’re gonna take down the POTUS and you’ve got the facts on your side, then don’t be an ass about it. Argue the larger point and not the specific words. Candy said on the air during the debate that BOTH men were right. Obama did say “acts of terror” but it DID take two weeks to acknowledge it was not based on the video. Candy played it perfectly and fairly.

So boys, stop crying in your pretzels. Grow a pair and take your deserved whuppin’. 😆

  356. Only in America….the same polls that give O the edge overall go Romney on point by point yet a common analysis is “Obama won on points”
    What a fucking circus.
    AL wins series,Romney wins WH

Grow a pair and take your deserved whuppin’

You’re a liar and a hack for the worst President in history. The affirmative action President and his dishonesty toady.

Both men can’t be right. Crowley had no business stepping into a debate to cover for a liar and an Muslim sympathizer hoping to bring America down a few notches.

Concerning the latter, Obama has been incredibly successful. He should have made that a campaign promise. It’s the one he was capable of keeping.

  358. Yet another Obama lie taken down. Just another abuse of the middle class worker who Obama obviously thinks are idiots. Well this time the Idiots are fighting back.

  359. You’re welcome, Alfie. You have put your finger on the defining point. It is a Political issue designed to get votes. Obama played out that point last night in the debate.

  360. @520 “Hillary emerges as the responsible grown up willing to step up. It COULD play very well for her.”

It might be too simplistic, R, but she took the fall for her boss instead of adhering to “The buck stops here” principle.
I agree with Tigre. Obama tossed Hillary under the bus but I also think it means she has no intention of continuing her position come Jan. Do not underestimate Hillary Clinton’s ability to do what is in her best interest.

  361. Raji noted: “I do think my daughters feel that there should be spay and neuter clinics available at reasonable prices for the “critters” and if humans continue to propagate without regard for the consequences it might help to have similar clinics.”

And also the note about their being more concerned about their cats.

This squares perfectly with my experience. My wife and I have three daughters and three sons; four of the children are around thirty years old, with one grandchild to show for it.

The producers are having no children, or one, and the parasites are having a passel – all of whom are encouraged to vote by the Democrats in order to perpetuate the Nanny State that bore them.

It is unstable, or as my Boy Tennyson might say, the center cannot hold:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

Ah, the failings of the best – and of the worst. So true, so true.

Now to build my compound for my wife, children and me.

  362. Candy Crowly turned Obama’s lie into an issue about her. She admitted on a panel discussion after the debate that Romney was “in the main” right about the Rose Garden speech. She also gave Obama more time.

Obama referred to President Bush as Bush. Usually former office holders are given the courtesy of recognizing their former titles.

PFessor, you should read “No Blade of Grass” if you can find it. You would need more than a compound. You would need room and food for some of the neighbors and also artilary and other heavy weapons. If you had stuff, others would do their best to take it.. .if the center fails, it could get nasty within days or weeks.

Before someone accuses me of insanity, I am extrapulating from what I have read.

I think Hillary is finished, if she is to be believed. Otherwise, they probably made a deal. If Hillary takes the blame, the organization will help her should she run for another office. Otherwise, they would stomp her like a bug.

  363. The best showing of the double standard that exists within the Dimocrat party I think I have ever seen. Can you imagine what would happen if this button said white instead of black?

  364. This may be a simplistic observation but to me this election is all about a “feel good society”. For some Romney comes across as not caring for the masses, whereas for some Obama comes across as the benevolent provider. Our education system promotes the narcissism of today’s children so why are we surprised when these students become adults seeking and demanding positive reinforcement.

We do not teach honor and self responsibility much less courtesy.
Where is the coach that tore apart that player and then molded him/her back into a fighting machine.

That was a good example PF about the producers and the parasites. We too have one grandchild.

  365. A perfect example of what I was trying to say in 558 is a discussion going on right now on the radio regarding the Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales. Apparently now days these stories are way too traumatic for children. In my child rearing days I bet those stories sent the little darlings to bed a bit worried about their behavior. Pffft !!!!!

  366. ‘I am a man of promises. When someone gives me their word, I hold them to it, and then I judge them on their ability to hold their word. I’m a firm believer in the virtue of not making promises that are unable to be kept, and I especially despise people that do that for their gain, just so they can obtain something in that moment. That’s not just a broken promise, that’s an outright LIE. A man IS only as good as his word.

Here’s the FACT, and I want you all to digest this as fact: 0bama made a series of campaign promises back in 2008. He promised to cut the deficit in half, he doubled it. He promised to draft immigration legislation, he didn’t do it. He promised to cut unemployment in half, he hasn’t touched it, and he promised to do ALL of that in his first term.

Obama has not only lied to us, but he has failed to deliver his promises. His excuse now? He just needs more time, and republicans have been fighting him the whole way. Another lie. He had a liberal super majority in Congress and Senate up until 2010, and he could’ve passed any legislation he wanted. It didn’t happen.

And even if these excuses WERE valid. Even if the republicans WERE blocking him and making it impossible to keep his promises, it is STILL not a valid excuse for his failure, for one simple reason: HE SHOULD NOT HAVE PROMISED IT TO US IF HE WASN’T SURE HE’D BE ABLE TO DELIVER IT.

He made RIDICULOUS promises to get elected, KNOWING he wouldn’t keep them. Every handshake in business is a promise. Every contract is a promise. If there is an expert on promises with a sterling record of KEEPING them, it’s Romney. He proved it in Bain, he proved it with the Olympics, and he certainly proved it in Massachusetts.

Well, there is one promise Obama made that I want to hold him to: The promise that if he didn’t fix the economy in his first term, he’d be a one term president. The choice is ABUNDANTLY and DISGUSTINGLY clear to me: Who do we choose? The man with a record of success, or the man with a record of broken promises, failure, lies, blunders, and cover-ups.

Listen, we’re in a BAD SPOT right now. This IS the most important election of our lives, and our futures have never been more uncertain. Mitt Romney is not a perfect man, by far. He’s made his mistakes (and that’s a healthy part of being a successful businessman) but in the end, he ALWAYS ends up balancing everything out.

When he took office in Massachusetts, there was a deficit. When he left office, there was a surplus. Romney brought the educational system from the brink of collapse to being one of, if not, the best in the US. Romney turned around the employment statistics of Mass. as well as the healthcare system. We NEED a smart businessman to fix our economy, which IS the most important issue we’re facing, and we need one with a proven track record of success. Mitt Romney is the ONLY choice we have, and the ONLY hope for America, and that’s a FACT.’ ~vox

p.s. Don’t forget folks, besides the lies, blunders, etc., Obama has the blood of four American men on his hands in Libya as well as 200+ Mexican citizens and our border patrol agents. Ask yourself, IF the worst turns out to be true in either or both cases that due to the actions of Obama and/or his administration, and they are proven to be negligent in these deaths, wouldn’t it change your vote? Before he is reelected, shouldn’t he be forced to answer for this?

As a businessman, I inherit a mess every damn day. I don’t spend my afternoon looking for people to blame, I take the mess and I fix the goddamn thing. That is what leaders do. In business, in the beginning, we define what success is. Obama did that. At the end of the day, we look at what we have accomplished based on our self-defined criteria of success, and we judge our efforts. Based on Obama’s own definition of a successful term in office, he would be forced to say he failed, and I would agree.

  367. As a businessman, I inherit a mess every damn day. I don’t spend my afternoon looking for people to blame, I take the mess and I fix the goddamn thing.
    I like that line!

  368. Rutherford you fantasy follow throughs found in 520 can be carried even further though. Romney wins and does well. Midterms shake things up for the better. 2016 the rose scent of a new America compared to the manure Hill has on her keeps her out.

  369. Grimms Fairy Tales are too violent for our sensitive children? What about Ring Around the Rosie, cinderella, or The Three Little Pigs?

Libya is not going away. We will hear much more in the final debate and ads.

  370. Just to pay some tribute as it were to the original point of this post.
    Bachmann is plus 9
West is -/+ 1 depending on poll.
    My Prediction?
    Bachmann and West get reelected

  371. Speaking of amnesia, I noticed Rutherford lied about Alan West drawing first blood…

Several months ago, the cop punching punk West is running against came out with commercial of Alan West punching white women.

No, I didn’t lie. In fact I asked you whether you were referring to some punch thrown by Murphy at some earlier time. When it comes to the limited back and forth that I posted, West threw the first punch.

Now, care to back up your claim of an ad accusing West of hitting a woman with a link? If Murphy got nasty in this election first, then the worst that happens if he gets elected is we get a nasty Congressman. If West gets elected, we get a nasty unhinged Congressman. I’d take the former any day of the week.

  372. Tex, I don’t know if you thought the Debate Prep II cartoon was derisive of Obama. It actually wasn’t. It very well represented what the prep probably consisted of.

  373. Rutherford,

You must be the laziest man in the world. And you just lied again.

I said, West’ campaign opponent drew first blood. We didn’t talk about scope or timetables in any other context.

  374. Another fun fact, we on the right like to call it the truth.

OBAMA: ‘‘Let’s take the money that we’ve been spending on war over the last decade to rebuild America, roads, bridges, schools. We do those things, not only is your future going to be bright, but America’s future is going to be bright as well.’’

THE FACTS: What Obama didn’t mention is that much of the money that has been paying for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was borrowed. In fact, the government borrows nearly 40 cents for every dollar it spends. Thus using money that had been earmarked for wars to build schools and infrastructure would involve even more borrowing, adding to the federal deficit.

  375. “Good question the Left wont answer.”

It’s one that Obama and Biden won’t answer. As I said at #540, that should’ve been Romney’s retort. But he was set off balance by the exchange and Crowley in particular. In fact, Obama just said ” go on” (or something to that effect) knowing that he was giving a false impression of the big the truthy Rose Garden speech. 🙄

The upside is the scrutiny placed on it at this point.

  376. What the affirmative action hell is this about?

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/10/15/florida-ill-advised-plan-to-measure-students-by-race-riles-education-experts/

By 2018, Florida’s Department of Education wants 90 percent of its Asian students to be reading at or above grade level, compared to 88 percent of white students, 81 percent of Hispanic pupils and 74 percent of African-American children. In math, state educational officials want that figure to be 92 percent for Asian students, or 18 percent higher than that of African-American students and 11 percent higher than their American Indian counterparts.

    Bet R will love this.

  377. Remember all that BS from Rutherford dancing about the jobs issues?

A recent study from the National Employment Law Project revealed that about 60 percent of the jobs created since the start of the Great Recession in 2008 were low-wage jobs. By comparison, most of the jobs lost during the same period were middle-wage jobs, the kind Obama was likely referring to when he spoke of “good-paying jobs.”

IN YOUR FACE RUTHERFORD. We Told You!!! class dismissed. lahoo-za-her!

  378. “As I said at #540, that should’ve been Romney’s retort. But he was set off balance by the exchange and Crowley in particular. In fact, Obama just said ” go on” (or something to that effect) knowing that he was giving a false impression of the big the truthy Rose Garden speech.”

I agree with you Tigre, but Romney tried to retort just that. However Obama cut him off and appealed to Candy to shut Romney down for good on the subject.

Romney can be blamed for falling for Obama’s word game, but Romney said “terrorist attack” in the first place and Obama perverted his own remarks in the Rose Garden. Romney got caught up in the word game trap, and Obama – with a little help from Candy – closed the lid.

ROMNEY: It took them a long time to say this was a terrorist act
by a terrorist group. And to suggest – am I incorrect in that
regard, on Sunday, the – your secretary –

    OBAMA: Candy?

ROMNEY: Excuse me. The ambassador of the United Nations went on the Sunday television shows and spoke about how –

    OBAMA: Candy, I’m –

    ROMNEY: – this was a spontaneous –

CROWLEY: Mr. President, let me –

OBAMA: I’m happy to have a longer conversation –

    CROWLEY: I know you –

    OBAMA: – about foreign policy.

CROWLEY: Absolutely. But I want to – I want to move you on and
    also –

OBAMA: OK. I’m happy to do that, too.

CROWLEY: – the transcripts and –

OBAMA: I just want to make sure that –

CROWLEY: – figure out what we –

OBAMA: – all of these wonderful folks are going to have a
chance to get some of their questions answered.

CROWLEY: Because what I – what I want to do, Mr. President,
stand there a second, because I want to introduce you to Nina
    Gonzalez….

Stunningly bad job by Crowley. Shockingly dishonest misdirect by Obama.

  379. Raji, I read quickly so I’m not sure exactly what you’re saying about Grimm’s Fairy Tales, but there’s a fascinating book by Bruno Bettelheim called “The Uses of Enchantment” that I’ll bet you would enjoy reading. These tales were never meant for entertainment purposes, and they are far more grisly in their original form than the Disney (or other producers) watered down versions (which are meant for entertainment).

Hansel and Gretel were cooked and eaten. 🙂

  380. Hey Tigre,

I meant last night to note this. The most moronic comment I have ever heard in a debate. I finally found somebody as economically sound minded as Rutherford.

    Remember this comment?

Well, think about what the governor — think about what the governor just said. He said when I took office, the price of gasoline was $1.80, $1.86. Why is that? Because the economy was on the verge of collapse, because we were about to go through the worst recession since the Great Depression, as a consequence of some of the same policies that Governor Romney’s now promoting. So, it’s conceivable that Governor Romney could bring down gas prices because with his policies, we might be back in that same mess.

    😆

Why has Obama not been called on this abject stupidity today? This is so fundamentally flawed, I don’t know where to start. I assume then that we can now excuse the summer of 2008 free fall?

Because gas prices were booming then too.

  381. “Shockingly dishonest misdirect by Obama.” Indeed. Especially when coupled with his later statement about the outrageous accusation that he or his administration would dare offer disinformation for political reasons. 🙄

Oh well, from what I’m reading, we will have our schadenfreude. Perhaps Bob Schieffer will have ask about Obama’s word games in the final round. Talk about needing a follow up.

  382. Oh that didn’t go unnoticed, Tex. It’s just incredible. Gee Crowley stayed silent on that and the drilling permits. Anyone catch how he was actually trying to take credit for the Bush-issued permits? You know, how anyone could listen to anything he said about energy and not think they were being Punk’d is beyond me.

I’m sure it all made perfect sense to R and Thor.

  383. No surprise, muffy. Republicans have been denied minutes to speak in the last three debates./The deck is stacked.T

The book sounds interesting. Little Red Riding hood may date from pre- history.j

Eivor a popular Faro Islands singer sang of a wizard who enchanted and captured her soul through music..

  384. The thought the POTUS of any party is owed carte blanche is a sickness.

Alfie you know full well that is not what I am talking about. On inauguration night there was no meeting strategizing how to strengthen conservative values over the next four years in light of this newly elected “ultra-liberal” President. The meeting was about how to defeat the MAN. McConnell’s comment was about denying THE MAN another four years. In fact, if anyone wanted carte blanche it was Mitch who wanted, in the words of Grover Norquist, someone with “working digits” who would sign any Republican bill that came his way. That’s carte blanche.

  385. I think Hillary knew exactly what she was doing and sung her swan song to the tune of goodbye 2016.

Well Raji, we can go back and forth on this but I just don’t buy it. The Clintons are ambitious as hell. Hillary didn’t turn herself into the police and say “I killed Chris Stevens”. She said that as his boss she bears responsibility in what happened to him and by implication it is her job to get to the bottom of it.

Dem-haters and Hillary-haters have jumped onto this thing with such glee and lightening speed … that should tell you right off the bat it is a total misread. Hillary was the good soldier and showed strength in stepping up. Believe me, this will be turned into a positive during the 2016 race by Dem’s and Hillary-supporters.

  386. Most opposing parties and presidents have worked together at times. Two examples are Newt and Bill.

The difference this time was besides Obama’s unwillingness to work well with his opponents was Republicans’ recognition of what would happen if Obama succeeded. They also had the Tea Party at their backs.

j agree with Ragi. The Clintons are aging fairly fast. You could be right on both counts since we are not mind readers, but from my prospective, the Republicans should have made Obama’s program fail. Time has told us so.

  387. You read way too much into it Rutherford. The MAN embodies the ideology. It was the MAN who embodied the planks which the GOP had no intention and every right and even total justification to counter to the hilt.
You are blinded by your own partisanship and the history of the election, neither of which deserves much attention in light of the detachment they have from constitutional government.
As for the Grover twist….fuck him!

  388. …Obama’s unwillingness to work well with his opponents …
It is worse than that. From day one there have been folks on Obamas side who have complained about his working style. Dean,Daschle & Reid to name three.
Obamas style, if one were to give more than a little benefit of doubt, is one of hands off, step back, analyze and choose. This is not Presidential at least not when it is so overt. He also was plagued by an overblown sense of his self and his election. He seems to truly believe he had a mandate and that things were going to change by themselves.
I think his foreign policy issues back this up quite well and fairly too. He had clearly stated beliefs but when reality set in late January and early Feb. well boom there’s a different show.

  389. Rutherford capable of finding even the smallest cherry upon the biggest of shit sundaes. Bravo!
Hillary has only one hope in 2016. That Romney sucks sssssssssooooooooo baaaaaaaaad that the world drafts her hoping she got something more of Bill shot into than Chelsea.

Seriously dude it also has to be said that if all you got is the Puma Hag come 2016 regardless of the results of 2012 your party is fucked.

  390. Every now and then I forget how irresponsible the GOP has been since day 1 of this administration. To say your TOP priority is to deny the current POTUS a second term is reprehensible.
That’s what you said R and is in line almost verbatim with its incessant incarnate thread after thread.
I don’t see how you think this is an apples orange thing. As soon as the POTUS hand comes off the Bible he/she is fair game for war. It comes with the keys to the WH. Obamas failure to beat the GOP unlike Clinton,Truman & Roosevelt or fighting the opposition successfully like Reagan v O’Neil or making grand compromises like H.W.Bush is not a crime of the opposition. It is testimony to your guys incompetence.
Really I don’t mean to beat this horse so wickedly but really this is too much. Let it go man.

  391. Your bravado entails giving power to a man. My bombast usually revolves around taking power and giving it to back to the people.

For you history buffs out there, does this make me Hamilton and make Rabbit Jefferson?

  392. FWIW when Romney became Gov he went to a veterans shelter to serve meals.

And dollars to donuts Romney got permission before he showed up.

Ryan got permission from someone not in authority … when he got there. The photo op was impromptu, not planned. As I said before, he was uninvited.

Is it a big deal in the whole scheme of things? No. Does it further the image of two plutocrats out of touch with reality? Yes, yes it does.

  393. I don’t see her there in January if her master wins though and she has got to know that.

Her absence in January has nothing to do with Libya. Hillary announced long ago that she wants only one term as Sec of State. Her departure is already a known variable in the equation.

The pundits say the only question now is how much rest she gets. If Obama wins, she gets to take two years off before hitting the campaign trail. If Romney wins, she basically can take only a few months off before getting her machine off the ground.

  394. Only one problem. The last debate is foreign policy. Buwahahahhahahaah.

I assume that’s crying, not laughing right? Whatever you have to say about Obama on foreign policy, Mitt is a rank amateur and has proven so time and time again … no sense of timing, no sense of tact, and as his own advisers have leaked, no real interest in the subject. He wants the job only to fix the economy which he honestly believes he can do. When it comes to foreign policy he is so out of his depth it ain’t funny.

    Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahaaha 😆

  395. So long as Obama doesn’t leave his brain behind for round 3 the way he did round 1, I am looking forward to his laying to rest the whole “apology tour” meme.

In fact, I was in a bit of a snit about devoting a full 90 minutes to foreign policy when there is so much domestic stuff still unexplored but the more I think about it, the more this could be one humdinger of a debate.

  396. 590 is a feed back loop to 586. if she is your best shot you’re screwed. Better hit the bricks and find some fresh talent.
You’ve conceded before that the GOP has found some depth,The GOP is all set for 2014 and 2016.

  397. We’ve probably seen the last of the ‘Townhall’ debates.

I love it when you talk with authority about things you know absolutely nothing about. The town hall “genre” is popular and there is no way we’ve seen the last of them. They are THE format where the candidate is confronted by the actual voter … the “regular Joe”. It’s as American as apple pie.

I think that will show in the next few days, though I’m never sure that I have a pulse on America like I used to.

Mmmmm, you’ve been speaking for “real Americans” for some time now. Suddenly losing your confidence? 😉

There would be ZERO objection to Candy by you and yours if she hadn’t fact-checked Mitt live on national TV. Your dumbass candidate deserved to have his ass handed to him … not content to drive home the larger point (which has traction), he had to get anal about the exact wording … and he got slammed.

Bravo Candy!!!! “Proceed Governor … check the transcript”. Proceed indeed!!! 😆

  398. As I said earlier…Newt head to France and take Rutherford.
Rutherford again your optimism knows no bounds but I won’t fault you too much.
I will offer an alternative slant though.
The final debate is quite possibly the one where Obama will lose even more of his composure.
Romney has stated in this last debate that his foreign policy will entail trade….oh snap who said that before??? Oh yeah it was me!
So if Wilson and Hamilton go to a debate in 2012 America who wins? I think it will be Mitt and here’s why.
    1. Obama is expecting neo con stuff and it isn’t coming to the show.
    2. The country is sick and tired of war, danger and all that jazz.
    3. There is no way Obama is prepared to articulate the new region based lead from behind strategy he has embraced. To his credit the electorate is overwhelmingly incapable of understanding it if he could.
    4. Osama is dead,yeah we know,now what?
    5. Last an example. Syria and Turkey, human loss wah wah wah and we must stabilize Afghanistan so we don’t experience another Benghazi err I mean.
    vs
Turkey and a stable Middle East offers a chance for new jobs. Turkey makes the Ford Transit Connect, the USA can make stuff too,and agricultural shipments to a beleaguered region and oh yeah my 5 point plan……….tough on China….trade in Latin America….Jobs at home.

  399. You’re a liar and a hack for the worst President in history. The affirmative action President and his dishonesty toady.

All the proof I need to know I’m right. Just watch the veins in Tex’s head start to bulge.

  400. OH I’m so impressed by a focus group on Fox of all places, full of white people. Fox couldn’t put a single brother or sister on the panel? What a laugh. (Dude talking didn’t even have enough class to refrain from profanity when he knew he was on TV.)

  401. Jill Stein, Green Party candidate, was arrested for trying to get into the puppet show debates. They did not even allow the libertarian candidate who has a decent place in the polls an opportunity.

The follks running this side show country are a joke.

  402. COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America .
ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It’s 7.8%.
COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?
    ABBOTT: No, that’s 14.7%.
    COSTELLO: You just said 7.8%.
    ABBOTT: 7.8% Unemployed.
COSTELLO: Right 7.8% out of work.
    ABBOTT: No, that’s 14.7%.
COSTELLO: Okay, so it’s 14.7% unemployed.
    ABBOTT: No, that’s 7.8%.
COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 7.8% or14.7%?
ABBOTT: 7.8% are unemployed. 14.7% are out of work.
COSTELLO: IF you are out of work you are unemployed.
ABBOTT: No, Obama said you can’t count the “Out of Work” as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed.
COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!
ABBOTT: No, you miss his point.
    COSTELLO: What point?
ABBOTT: Someone who doesn’t look for work can’t be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn’t be fair.
    COSTELLO: To whom?
    ABBOTT: The unemployed.
COSTELLO: But they are ALL out of work.
ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work. Those who are out of work gave up looking and if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.
COSTELLO: So if you’re off the unemployment roles that would count as less unemployment?
ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!
COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don’t look for work?
ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That’s how Obama gets it to 7.8%. Otherwise it would be 14.7%. He doesn’t want you to read about 14.7% unemployment.
COSTELLO: That would be tough on his reelection.
    ABBOTT: Absolutely.
COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means there are two ways to bring down the unemployment number?
    ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.
COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?
    ABBOTT: Correct.
COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?
    ABBOTT: Bingo.
COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to have Obama’s supporters stop looking for work.
ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like the Obama Economy Czar.
COSTELLO: I don’t even know what the hell I just said!
ABBOTT: Now you’re thinking like Obama.

  403. Fox couldn’t put a single brother or sister on the panel?

Why would they place a bunch of brainless homies on a panel on FOX? To listen to more racist bullshit, grievance hustlers too stupid to take care of themselves, and apologists for failure?

That’s why FOX is far and away the highest rated cable network, and surpassed even the alphabet networks during the debates. They’re a few echelons higher than the dog shit you listen to where mindless swills circle jerk to red faced maniacs.

I hope the Republican party after they win, wises up and writes the liberal black populace off in its entirety, including you. Don’t pander to a bunch of assholes. I’d tell the NAACP to suck my rod and kiss my ass.

Unless they’re conservative, I don’t have any use for them anymore. I’d cut every freebie and listen to them whine. When the mob forms, consider it a high value target. 😈

  404. I find Rutherford’s responses more and more comical. Mr Haaaarvud dismisses everything out of hand, and that is his total response. He doesn’t actually explain or defend anything, just attacks others opinions in a condensing and dismissive way. Someone should tell our rogue scholar that belittling someone doesn’t a point make.

I was a little surprised at his overt racism coming out in 602. But as he said he could never vote for the white guy no matter what I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

  405. President Obama’s campaign once again attacked the methodology of Gallup just days after the polling group adjusted their methodology in a way that benefited the president.

This time, the criticism came this time from the Obama pollster who mocked the Romney team for debating about the reliability of polls.

After Gallup/USA Today released a poll showing Mitt Romney tied with Obama among likely female voters in swing states, Obama pollster Joel Benenson pointed to “deep flaws in Gallup’s likely voter screen” and dismissed the survey as an “extreme outlier.”

    http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-camp-attacks-gallup-again/article/2510814#.UH-JHsXR7Y

  406. I am familiar with Belize. Snorkeing is good there, and the water is fine. I know this because a neighbor and former high school classmate was a frequent visitor to Belize until his herbalist hobby/business angered the authorities and they told him they would arrest him if he returned.

One can live in Belize on thousands a month or eat beans and survive comfortably on almost nothing.

  407. Jefferson distrusted special privilege, favored a weak central government, relatively few federal employees, agriculture should be the backbone of the US, and he opposed internal taxes. He also wanted to pay off the national debt.

Hamilton believed average people acted foolishly more than not. The rich, educated and well-born people whould rule. he wanted to raise voting qualifications. He thought our government souhd be modeled on the British system. He wanted close ties to Britain while Jefferson was partial to France.

    Which are you Rutherford?

  408. you are educated, intelligent and have the manner of a well-born man. you would be the type of voter Hamiliton favored. You also support people who raise debts. You must be a Hamiltonian.

  409. Candy Crowly had an agenda. She wanted to help Obama and she wanted women, to moderate more debates. She disobeyed the rules, and made herself the center of discussion by giving a false fact check she later had to recant.

She interrupted Romney more than Obama, and she gave Obama more time to speak. Several times, Obama, like a small boy looked to her to help him escape some rough spots. Candy’s obvious bias diminished Obama.

She wanted to be the queen of presidential debates, but instead, that fat bitch showed she belonged in the kitchen. Her corpulence testifies to her apparent culinary skills.

Rutherford, if you can shovel manure about Candy’s being the bees knees, I will respond in kind. I have more to write about her if you do.

  410. I’ll stick with my Aaron Burr choice for R. Shot Alexander Hamilton in a duel and led a treasonous plot to take over part of the United States.

“Candy’s obvious bias diminished Obama. ”

I am glad I am not the only one to notice someone else holding Obama’s hand. Would be nice to see him man up just once before we vote.

  411. I was watching the updated version of Discovery’s Osama Bin Laden documentary. I must have watched the original documentary 7 or 8 times. This new version has the President aware of the mission the whole time, but in order to fool Bin Laden into thinking nothing is going on, the President goes to play golf so that it appears it is just business as usual. This is funny on two levels. The fact that they needed to change this and thought we would believe this story, and that business as usual was to have Obama go out and play golf.

On a lighter note, I did hear that while golfing the day after the embassy attacks, Obama ordered all golf flags to be lowered to half staff. 😆

  412. Got that right, James. Crowley is a hack. She sounds like Rutherford reads while she stomps around on CNN, but Rutherford doesn’t posture himself as ‘moderate’. I mean, the CNN horse’s ass called the Romney/Ryan ticket a death wish. But I never thought Crowley would step over the line like she did.

Trust me. There isn’t a bigger Obama cocksucker in Washington than Bob Schieffer. He’s had his lips glued to Obama’s ass for four years. Another worm, so you can expect the same garbage in the next debate too.

As a Republican, especially a Conservative Republican, you expect a large dose of media bias. We’ve lived with for years – it’s a known fact, about 90% of journalism majors vote Dimocrat, and about 85% of MSM journalists are Dimocrat. Hell, Walter Cronkite was a damn pinko and traitor and they sing his praises. At least now, most don’t try and hide the bias anymore. I mean, if they were really capable, most wouldn’t be journalists. That’s like majoring in home economics or PE.

It’s more tolerable now because we’ve got talk radio, the internet, FOX.

That’s why unlike most Republicans, I prefer the stooges on MSNBC. They don’t try to masquerade as fair or unbiased. Neither does Sean Hannity. You may hate them or love them, but you know exactly where they stand in their politics.

However, Crowley is supposed to be ‘fair’ in her handling of the debate. That was like Rush Limbaugh moderating. I expected the interruptions – Romney is playing against a loaded deck and we all know it. These imbeciles like Rutherford who presented Romney as weak and unlikable had their egregious lies blow up in their faces two weeks ago in 90 minutes. I’m still laughing at their lying and ineptness, months of preparation dashed in an earthquake. You can’t help but pity these lame fools a little. I would if they were more likeable – but their so rancid, they are too easy to loathe.

But when Crowley stepped in the line of fire for President Choom, that was finally over the line. That was as about as flagrant a foul as you can have in a debate. CNN will go down the tubes eventually – and it’s well deserved.

The only thing I can surmise with these Republicans who keep allowing LSM shills to moderate debates that are clearly in the tank for Obama? You know, liars and propagandists like Obama – men and women without substance or principle? It’s that these hacks won’t debate without one of their own to help on stage. On a level playing field actually speaking about facts, they’re helpless. Obama lied for 90 minutes the other night. One lie after another – and we people who follow the news and actually understand math – that rules out virtually all libs – know it.

And with Romney the challenger, the only way he can win because the American public is too stupid to research things themselves, is to get on the stage with Obama and make him look the utter idiot he is.

  413. When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.
Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old m
an’s sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this ‘anonymous’ poem winging across the Internet.

    Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. . when you’re looking at me?
    A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
    Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . … . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .’I do wish you’d try!’
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
    And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . … lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you’re thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you’re not looking at me.
    I’ll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I’m a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
    Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
    Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he’ll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
    At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
    A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don’t mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. …Babies play ’round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
    I look at the future … . . . . I shudder with dread.
