Did We Learn Nothing from Nixon?

Watergate was nothing, a petty burglary gone wrong. The scandal that ensued enshrined the now famous adage that the cover-up is worse than the crime. Despite Richard Nixon’s folly which led to the first resignation of a sitting President, countless politicians have ignored the moral of his story and have fallen into the same trap.

Today we saw one of the great champions of progressive causes self destruct before our eyes. Last week, news first surfaced that New York Democratic Representative Anthony Weiner had sent a lewd photo of himself to a female over Twitter. Weiner denied sending the photo, claiming his account had been hacked. Oddly though, he said that he couldn’t say “with certitude” whether or not the picture depicted him. This inability of Weiner to identify his own fully packed pair of underpants left a suspicious stink over the whole affair. My guess had been that Weiner sent the photo to someone as a gag and it got into the wrong hands.

Today, of course we learned the truth. Not only did the underpants belong to Weiner but he had Tweeted this photo to a young woman in Seattle. Again, ala Richard Nixon, the revelation of wrong-doing was really not the story. The story was the week of bold-faced lying that preceded today’s confessional press conference. Apparently, like Donald Trump’s fictional investigators looking for the truth behind Obama’s birth, Weiner had his own fictional security team dissecting the hacking of his account. Perhaps most grievous of all was that Weiner lent credibility to Andrew Breitbart who had said last week that Weiner’s online behavior was reputed to be beyond the pale.

Weiner says he will not resign. Whether he can get beyond this in the tradition of David Vitter or finally take the fall as John Ensign did weeks ago remains to be seen. What remains even more puzzling is why men from Nixon to Spitzer to Vitter to Craig to Ensign to Clinton to Edwards believe their lies will not be discovered eventually. Mistakes are human. We all make them. Mistakes in and of themselves might not ruin our credibility. The cover-ups always do.

Respectfully,
Rutherford

  1. This is my favorite bit about this- Weiner actually sponsored legislation about Internet Preditors. Tell me, what exactly is he again considering he “thinks” they were all consenting adults.

There’s a waitress in Vegas saying that he called from a Congressional line to have phone sex. He’s likely toast, because now that he has admitted it, there will be an ethics investigation and this will just drag on and on.

  2. You want to see Obama at his best? Expect another resolution, this one BINDING…

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House brushed off congressional demands for a detailed report outlining U.S. objectives in Libya, a move likely to stoke further anger on Capitol Hill over President Barack Obama’s decision not to seek lawmakers’ consent for the military operation.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Monday that administration officials were already answering questions about Libya in briefings on Capitol Hill. A House resolution calling on Obama to provide more detailed answers was “unhelpful,” Carney added, suggesting that the administration has no plans to formally respond within the 14-day window outlined in the measure.

However, the spokesman said the White House could continue to hold regular consultations with Congress on Libya.

“We obviously take seriously our obligation to consult with Congress and to the extent that there are questions that need to be answered we will, of course, endeavor to answer them,” Carney said.

Several House members have expressed their dissatisfaction with those briefings, saying more of them won’t suffice.

On Friday, the House passed a non-binding resolution chastising Obama for failing to provide a “compelling rationale” for the Libyan mission and demanding a report “describing in detail” the operation’s objective, its costs and its impact on the nation’s two other wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Forty-five Democrats joined the Republican majority in passing the resolution.

  3. The Dems are desperate to get ahead of this train wreck…

…But after his news conference, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced that she was calling for a House ethics committee probe into whether government resources had been mishandled.

“I am calling for an Ethics Committee investigation to determine whether any official resources were used or any other violation of House rules occurred,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi added that she was “deeply disappointed and saddened” for Weiner’s wife and constituents.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) agreed that an ethics panel must review the situation in order to “remove all remaining doubt about this situation.” “Ultimately, Anthony and his constituents will make a judgment about his future,” Israel said in a statement.

  4. I have a theory that the more a pol shows up on network or cable TV to be interviewed or always offer opinion with self-promotion, the more suspect their character, the more predictable their arrogance, and/or the less capable they are.

There are a few exceptions like Sarah Palin, who are chased by the press with their sick obsession, which Palin plays like a fiddle to advertise her brand, telling me she’s not really interested in running for President. Her’s is simply money grab and sustaining influence. If Palin chooses to run for President, then I’ll retract that statement.

There are exceptions made for people with visible policy being debated, or say in a role of leadership: any President obviously, Paul Ryan being an example of the former. Or somebody like Tom Coburn, my Senator, who talks from the steps of Congress to several of the networks because he’s sought out and a good interview, straight shooter, and doesn’t duck anyone.

But for the most part, the more self-promotion I see from the pol especially on cable TV, the more likely the arrogance meter off the charts, and the delusions of grandeur high.

And Weiner, who was everywhere on TV, was perhaps the worst. Guarantee this worm was welded to his locker in high school.

Rutherford, hard to believe you wouldn’t loudly demand Weiner resign. Your comparison to Vitter or Ensign is specious if you need to use a Republican in the worst light, you being a political animal.

A much better example of parallel would be Chris Lee and Mark Foley, both who resigned immediately, and at least Lee didn’t lie or cover up anything. Me personally, I hope Weiner remains. Like Charlie Rangel, who is a corrupted thief and a crook, it sheds real light on the amorality of the Dimocratic party and their double standards.

And I do believe that most separates the parties to a large degree.

    MELISSA BLOCK, host:

Sarah Palin is defending her knowledge of American history. Last week, after Palin visited Old North Church and Paul Revere’s house in Boston, a reporter asked her what she had seen and what she’d take away from her visit.

Ms. SARAH PALIN (Former Governor, Alaska): We saw where Paul Revere hung out as a teenager, which was something new to learn. And, you know, he who warned the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and making sure, as he is riding his horse through town, to send those warning shots and bells, that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free.

BLOCK: Well, after that generated howls of derision for historical inaccuracy, Palin amplified on “Fox News Sunday.” Here’s part of what she said.

(Soundbite of TV show, “Fox News Sunday”)

Ms. PALIN: Part of Paul Revere’s ride – and it wasn’t just one ride – he was a courier, he was a messenger. Part of his ride was to warn the British that we’re already there, that, hey, you’re not going to succeed. You’re not going to take American arms. You are not going to beat our own well-armed persons, individual, private militia that we have. He did warn the British.

BLOCK: We are going to fact-check Palin’s Paul Revere history now with Robert Allison. He’s chair of the history department at Suffolk University in Boston.

Professor Allison, welcome to the program.

Professor ROBERT ALLISON (Chairman, History Department, Suffolk University): Thanks, Melissa.

BLOCK: And let’s review Paul Revere’s midnight ride, April 18, 1775. He’s going to Lexington, Massachusetts. And according to Sarah Palin, he’s riding his horse through town sending warning shots and ringing those bells. True?

Prof. ALLISON: Well, he’s not firing warning shots. He is telling people so that they can ring bells to alert others. What he’s doing is going from house to house, knocking on doors of members of the Committees of Safety saying the regulars are out. That is, he knew that General Gage was sending troops out to Lexington and Concord, really Concord, to seize the weapons being stockpiled there, but also perhaps to arrest John Hancock and Samuel Adams, leaders of the Continental Congress, who were staying in the town of Lexington.

Remember, Gage was planning – this is a secret operation, that’s why he’s moving at night. He gets over to Cambridge, the troops start marching from Cambridge, and church bells are ringing throughout the countryside.

BLOCK: So Paul Revere was ringing those bells? He was a silversmith, right?

Prof. ALLISON: Well, he was – he also was a bell ringer. That is, he rang the bells at Old North Church as a boy. But he personally is not getting off his horse and going to ring bells. He’s telling other people – and this is their system before Facebook, before Twitter, before NPR, this was the way you get a message out is by having people ring church bells and everyone knows there is an emergency.

And by this time, of course, the various town Committees of Safety, militia knew what the signals were, so they knew something was afoot. So this is no longer a secret operation for the British.

Revere isn’t trying to alert the British, but he is trying to warn them. And in April of 1775, no one was talking about independence. We’re still part of the British Empire. We’re trying to save it. So this is a warning to the British Empire what will happen if you provoke Americans.

BLOCK: And Sarah Palin also was saying there that Paul Revere’s message to the British in his warning was: you’re not going to take American arms. You know, basically a Second Amendment argument, even though the Second Amendment didn’t exist then.

Prof. ALLISON: Yeah. She was making a Second Amendment case. But, in fact, the British were going out to Concord to seize colonists’ arms, the weapons that the Massachusetts Provincial Congress was stockpiling there.

So, yeah, she is right in that. I mean, and she may be pushing it too far to say this is a Second Amendment case. Of course, neither the Second Amendment nor the Constitution was in anyone’s mind at the time. But the British objective was to get the arms that were stockpiled in Concord.

BLOCK: So you think basically, on the whole, Sarah Palin got her history right.

Prof. ALLISON: Well, yeah, she did. And remember, she is a politician. She’s not an historian. And God help us when historians start acting like politicians, and I suppose when politicians start writing history.

BLOCK: Are there other historians, Professor, whom you’ve talked with who say you’re being entirely too charitable towards Sarah Palin here, and she really did misread American…

Prof. ALLISON: I haven’t talked to many – well, I don’t know. I mean, I haven’t talked to too many historians today. And, you know, Sarah Palin is a lightning rod. I just was thinking about how many times, you know, I’ve spoken about Paul Revere. I’ve organized events about the American Revolution. No one ever pays any attention. Suddenly, Sarah Palin comes to town, makes an off-the-cuff remark about what she learned, and suddenly, you’re calling me to find out what I think about Paul Revere and the American Revolution.

It’s a great honor to talk to you, Melissa.

    (Soundbite of laughter)

Prof. ALLISON: I wish it didn’t take Sarah Palin coming to town to bring us together.

BLOCK: Well, we’ll have to do this again sometime.

    Prof. ALLISON: I hope so.

BLOCK: Professor Allison, thanks so much.

    Prof. ALLISON: Thanks. Take care.

BLOCK: Professor Robert Allison is chair of the history department at Suffolk University in Boston.

  6. Tex –
Well, the libs at Fat Grannies really stepped on their collective Anthonys – er, weiners. One waxed eloquent that the conservatives just complained but never had positive suggestions and I reminded her that I had done exactly that, had offered my own suggestions and asked for the lib’s – with crickets the result. Now Noah has picked up the ball and is shoving it up their ample bottoms.

I gotta tell you, it reminds me of that old Garfield joke, where
Garfield gives Odie a rubber bone as a joke, Odie swallows it and wants another one.

Garfield looks at the audience and says, “Practical jokes are wasted on the stupid.’

There just has to be some shared information before any discussion can take place and it’s becoming crystal clear that these folks Never_Read_Anything beyond People magazine.

It’s frustrating, but they ARE fun to smack around.

  7. Pfesser,

What I find at Fat Grannies is what I find virtually everywhere else across the Net. The people from the Left are immature, irrational, and I believe most are mentally ill. I wouldn’t even take them seriously were it not they happen to vote and damage the country substantially.

That’s why I like debating Mr. Rutherford Lawson so much – when he’s in the mood to debate. I have to stoke his fire to get him to defend anymore, because he’s hopelessly outnumbered here, and we’ve collectively beat the hell out of him for two and a half years now. 🙂

Rutherford and I don’t agree on much of anything about politics or religion, but Rutherford is sane, fair, generally rational (he’s had a few slips into the abyss since things went south for “his man”), smart, and is willing to defend his positions. He has the ability to think critically, and most importantly, doesn’t just chant the lib meme like some dumb lemming. We just come to very different conclusions about the way to fix things, handle things.

Our country would be much, much better off if Rutherford was the typical Liberal. Our national IQ would go up 30 points for starters. Unfortunately, for every one Rutherford, I find ten of Auntie Jean. But they are indeed fun to smack around.

  8. Rutherford –

I was watching CNN a couple of days ago and they were soliciting comments from a reporter from Gawker.

The CNN guy said something to the effect that Gawker had an advantage because they were able to use frank language that CNN could not.

The Gwaker lady waxed eloquent for a minute and then said, “Well, everybody wants to know what the powerful are doing, yada yada …and then this guy sends a picture of his DICK to…”

You could hear everybody in the CNN office going, “Uh-oh!..in the background.

The CNN guy got back on and said, “Heh, heh……yep, you guys sure have an advantage” and then changed the subject.

I would like to have heard the conversation off-camera at CNN. This gal never thought a minute about talking about Weiner’s “dick” on network TV. LOL

  9. Rutherford, this one is for you. 🙂

    ———–

Watching Breitbart crush Weiner beneath his heel like an insignificant weiner, it occurs to me that Breitbart’s genius – and he really is an information genius – consists almost entirely of two pieces of knowledge: one, leftists will lie knowing the media will back them and two, the media will back them. With those two principles, he manages to make utter fools of both lying leftists and their corrupt mainstream media cronies again and again. Not to mention again. It’s wonderful. ~ Andrew Klavan

  10. Re: #5….They told me if I voted for McCain we’d end up with a dictator who bypasses the will of the people (READ: congress) to attack whatever country he wants, whenever he wants…..

    ….and they were right!

“Anybody know what’s going on in Libya?”

Attack helicopters. Stuff that flies slow and low and is easy to shoot at. Sounds like the right kind of weapon to use when you don’t want boots on the ground, doesn’t it? (That is, until 1 of them gets shot down or malfunctions)

  11. R, can you please explain Madcow’s efforts to defend Weiner? What gives?

I’m very disappointed in Maddow. The man looked at her last week and lied to her face and what she gave us last night was some intellectual gobbledygook about where Weiner sits on a scale of creepiness vs criminality. She should have said “I apologize to you, the viewer, for my allowing Weiner to dupe me into letting him appear on this show and lie to me and to you. I am sorry.”

Rachel’s response to this baffles me.

  12. Leave it to Gorilla to purport that Sarah didn’t completely botch the Paul Revere story. Hey G, were you one of the folks changing the Wiki page before they locked it down? 😉

  13. Nope, I’ve actually never seen the wiki page so…

No, I thought I’d pre-empt any PDS you might have, saving you the time and us the pain of another Palin post from you.

If you’re looking for post suggestions, I have a few for you though:

    * What happened to the Recovery Summer?

    * Who’s the next Economic goat for the Administration?

    * Why Blame-Bush won’t solve the Economy

  14. I’m serious R when I ask for a post on the economics of this Administration. I’d like to see a liberal defend this economy, the decisions of Obama and explain how the things he has done have actually helped, because frankly, all Dems have to run on right now are scare tactics. Ooooohhhhh, the GOP will throw Grandma off a cliff, oooooohhhhhhh.

Can you please provide some substance?

Chrysler has repaid every dime and more of what it owes American taxpayers for their support during my presidency.” – President Obama, June 4, 2011

We take no view on whether the administration’s efforts on behalf of the automobile industry were a good or bad thing; that’s a matter for the editorial pages and eventually the historians. But we are interested in the facts the president cited to make his case.
What we found is one of the most misleading collections of assertions we have seen in a short presidential speech. Virtually every claim by the president regarding the auto industry needs an asterisk, just like the fine print in that too-good-to-be-true car loan.

  15. Tigre, I know you can’t grok this but I consider Maddow a commentator with integrity. So yes, I am baffled why she did not express righteous anger at having been used by Weiner.

  16. G, no promises on an economic post. Not because I want to dodge the issue but simply because I have next to no expertise in the matter. Hell, I may just write a post about my own ignorance on the subject and how disabling that is in a time when everyone is spinning and it’s hard to find the truth.

So, hang in there … you may get your post. Just don’t expect a huge defense of Obama.

  17. Huck, 😆 You’re right – the comments are classic. My favorite was this one:

    >Think I’ll tip the police off that there’s a mass grave in my veggie garden – it could do with turning over. Make a change to see them hard at work anyway

  18. Rutherford, why are you surprised at Madcow’s reaction? As predictable as the change of seasons, my good man.

You’re not an ignorant man; confused, twisted, perverted, hacked, burnt, angry, upset, disingenuous, malicious, of the devil, party to chaos, inherently evil, irreligious, deceitful, deceptive, traitorous, abhorrent, abomination of desolation, the anti-Christ, yes. But not ignorant. ***

Come on R! I’m going to get you admit that Butch is nothing but a high paid shill and a hack, or you’ll never get rid of me.
    ……..
    …….
    ……
    …..
    ….

    ..
    .

*** For you dumb bohunks, tattletales, cowards and manure slugs that lurk here from the real abomination called Chatty Kitchen and crucify Rutherford because he allows himself to be abused, Rutherford and I go way back. Rutherford is my buddy. You, on the other hand, I loathe. 😉

  19. Nope. Can’t grok it. It’s certainly no surpise to me. Nor can I grok your belief that Madcow is a commentator with integrity. Giffords shooting, Exhibit “A.” Frankly, Madcow is a dumb slut. . . er. . . I guess that was taken by her MSNBC cohort, Sgt. Shultz.

Time to go Google a definition of grok. . .

  20. Remember when Graychin in his sanctimony would always defend the effectiveness of big government? Remember when Jim Dougan celebrated ObamaCare? Remember when Yeller Dawg….oh well, that doesn’t count. Cue the music of Sympathy for the Devil and call the IRS and TSA saints.

So you want more government, hey Graychin? I would suggest you tell your own not fall behind on their payments.

    http://www.news10.net/news/article/141072/2/Dept-of-Education-breaks-down-Stockton-mans-door

How much longer are we the citizens going to put up with this crap?

  21. Tigre, it certainly is and a thanks to you to leading me to that site where Obama and his mindless minions were once again demonstrated to be completely vacuous blowhards. How about another carbon credit for old times sake?

I perused that site for an hour, and got a good chuckle at the commentary.

  22. LOL … yeah Tex I DID get a kick out of that comment from Grannies that I allow myself to be abused. Since when did listening to opposing views with a bit of salty language thrown in amount to abuse?

If anything this blog has simply changed my complexion to a leathery toughness akin to that of my roofer buddy Rabbit. 🙂

  23. Tex, mindless minions and vacuous blowhards is too kind.

I spent some time with Lord Monckton at a dinner event recently (name drop). It was like a Monty Python skit. My sides hurt.

  24. “Between Tex and Tigre, the praise just continues to pour in!”

When it comes to leathery toughness, Tex is the bloig equivalent of the the drill sargeant in Full Metal Jacket. God love you, R. We’re going to make a man out of you.

Now, if only we could make a woman out of Butch Madcow. . .

  25. Drill Sergeant from Full Metal Jacket? 😈 You don’t know how many times I’ve almost called Rutherford, “Private Snowball”, and have been tempted to address Flake as “Mary Jane Rottencrotch.”

One of my favorites – at least the first half. My wife absolutely hated that movie. To this day 20+ years later before we go to the theater, she says something like, “We’re not going to one of those filthy mouthed war movies you like, are we?” 😆

  26. Tex –
My absolute fave of all times is Tombstone. There are more memorable quotes per minute in that movie than any other ever made.

“Why Johnny Ringo, you look as if somebody just walked over your grave!”

For you Doc Holliday nuts, he did. Although there is no evidence that Doc actually kilt him.

    http://www.johnnyringo.com/jrdeath.html

  27. Tigre, Reuters took down the one you linked to.

In my link the article is about the mass grave hoax in Texas. But what is really funny are the comments where people are displaying grief for the poor murdered babies….who were not murdered…because there were no bodies…because, like the story says….it was a hoax.

  28. Oh, I know. I referred to it sarcastically. The Reuter’s article actuall reported that bodies WERE discovered.

  29. Incidentally, the Reuter’s article was put up after the one you linked to. Perhpas Ms. Cleo knows more than she’s given credit for?

  30. Weiner can apologize until the cows come home, it means nothing. He is concerned with keeping his job. Did he even mention that he needs and will be seeking professional help? I admit I didn’t listen to the whole of his confession, I was trying to keep my breakfast down.

I believed him when he said it was a prank played on him. The dirtbag is an insult to decent turtles everywhere.

An underwear picture sent to one woman with whom he developed an online fantasy relationship with is one thing, and he would be better off prioritizing getting professional help for that instead of keeping his job. But from what I’m hearing, the pictures Weiner sent to various women went so far into the “This is wrong of me” category it isn’t funny. Keep his job??? He should be run out of town on a high speed rail. He is the sour of the Earth.

Forgive me, but wwwwWWWWWhat is he so in love with? It would make more sense for him to be shyly uncomfortable with having his picture taken. Blech.

And all the while the chorus of idiots yell “Shame! Shame! Shame!” at the representatives who didn’t vacate their seats and hide out to avoid voting – which is their job. Where are all the finger waggers now?

Weiner’s not even a football player or a famous-for-nothing Hollywood concoction. He’s a congressman. Grow up, man.

When someone is revealed to be an immature narcissist with terrible judgment and zero integrity – he needs to be stripped not of his clothing but of any power he wields over other people. He doesn’t belong in any position where his decisions affect anyone but him and his family.

This guy is probably re-electable too. Hypocrites and liars. That’s who we elect to represent us and we don’t kick them to the curb when they act like dogs. That’s a real problem.

As the chorus of baffoons yell “Fox News Lies!” into the camera.

“I am baffled why she did not express righteous anger at having been used by Weiner. – Rutherford”

She probably loves him. He’s one of the good guys, don’t ya know.

I’ve come to regard Rachel Maddow simply intelligent, nothing more, and certainly not wise. I feel like a fool for falling for Weiner’s lies. If she doesn’t see a chump in the mirror today and isn’t angry that he fouled the airwaves on her show (for which she owes an apology to her viewers), than I can only draw the conclusion that she’s a phony and wants to be lied to. I don’t know what else to think.

Some women want to be lied to.

Huck I only made it through the first twenty comments – clever responses. 🙂 The story and the reporting of it is less side-splitting. Weird, crazy shit.

My mom would not be pleased with my language lately. I went for a long stretch of several years where I didn’t swear at all. No kidding.

Tex reminds me of the Clint Eastwood character in Gran Torino.

“Since when did listening to opposing views with a bit of salty language thrown in amount to abuse? – Rutherford

Salty is the perfect word, Rutherford. The word pops into my mind frequently as a good description of the commentary here.

Also comes to mind in some cases as “salt of the Earth.”

  31. I’m pretty libertine, but Breitbart’s comment yesterday really gave me pause: This guy, who is privvy to certain state secrets and has privileged information out the wazoo, is setting himself up perfectly for blackmail.

Whoa! I’d never thought of that…sorry, he’s got to go. Not because he has no couth, but because he is a liability to the country.

  32. Muffy…there are a lot more comments there now, and the funny ones I was referring to are deeply buried at this point.

  33. Muffy, I remember my very wise father’s disgust over Clinton and dems reaction to the Lewinski scandal. It was not unique, frequently heard from the prior generations, and one you’re familiar with. But it really stuck with me. He said he never thought that he would see the day the stature of the “office” forever diminished. He was truly sad about it. And it had nothing to do with the less-than-unique sexual behavior of a sitting president, it was the public’s willingness to accept it (and later excuse it). The mental gymnastics employed by Madcow to excuse/rationalize, trivialize etc. the seriousness of Weiner’s profound breach of trust and lack of judgment is no different.

Shame on her. And shame on him for continuing to hold the office. And shame on anyone that thinks he should after learning of this guy’s character.

  34. Muffy, great rant. Gran Torino? 😆 I liked that movie too – maybe you guys are on to something. Hopefully, my grand kids won’t turn out like Clint’s.

    ——-

You know guys – I’ve decided about half our politicians are psychotic, and at least half America so amoral, they don’t even have a sense of shame – crosses all lines too.

What kind of a twisted mind preaches “family values” to get elected, all the while sending out homosexual invites to his pages for trysts? What kind of a sick joke is that. Or walks across the White House lawn with King James Bible in hand as leader of the free world, and walks into the Oval Office of all places, and on Easter Sunday, to receive fellatio from someone his daughter’s age while leaving a Palestinian diplomat in waiting? And to double down on scum, then lets his wife of 30 years run interference while he’s lying through his teeth, therefore humiliating her too? And then the wife stays with the scumbag to further her own career.

If I was ever so stupid to do something like that, I would find a few of my things on the front lawn, my wife never to speak to me again, my children scorning me until I was old and gray, and my mother condemning me in tears with absolute shame. My world would crumble in a heartbeat, then when I was dead my brothers-in-law probably would dig me up for a first class dragging.

I know, I know. It’s always been with us true, and several of our former Presidents were serial philanderers. I understand man’s heart. I’m no Puritan either, as if I had a dollar for each lustful thought, I’d be somewhere rich as the national debt. Some young gal in the neighborhood walks up the other day walking her baby to pet my puppy (dog, you nasty bastards) with an obvious camel toe in her running pants, and a hydraulic jack couldn’t have pried my chin up.

But I don’t ever remember witnessing people in positions of authority being so reckless and stupid in their behavior. I don’t know what bothers me more: Weiner’s constituents not demanding his resignation, or the fact this sociopath knows not only will he not resign, but he would easily get re-elected.

Hell, look at Charlie Rangel. He’s a damn thief writing our tax laws, and our Treasurer is a tax cheat too!

And we wonder why our nation is going down the tubes? Frankly, I’m shocked it already hasn’t.

  35. Context is everything. Even if you don’t get a pinprick about it with regard to infidelity, in the case of XXX photos sent on the internet it’s never wise and blackmail is always a possibility. Even, I hate to say, between married couples. You just don’t give up power like that. Anybody could see it and you can’t do a thing about it.

Forget that it’s sordid (or that it’s not), it’s just dumb. I also don’t like kids seeing this behavior. Not because it’s naughty, but because it’s stupid. I mean think of your kid sending this stuff out and you don’t deliberate – uh uh. Why? Strictly because of their age? No, because you can never take it back. It’s one of those concepts that kids need to grow to understand, like their own mortality. You can’t retrieve anything from cyberspace and you surrender all power over the image of your naked body.

Tigre, my mom starts every sentence in which the topic is former President Clinton with, “I’m sorry but…” Cracks me up.

  36. Well, when it comes to political office we will always get the worst of what we’re willing to tolerate. I’m afraid we’ve crossed the Rubicon.

  37. Muffy, great rant. – Tex

Heh, I did feel like I was on a tear there. Must be the heat. 93 degrees here today.

    “Gran Torino?”

    Yeah.

I’m starting to really like Clint Eastwood-directed movies. He sees women in a really cool way. I wish I could put it more eloquently than that, but I just dig the way he portrays women. Gran Torino I like for other reasons, one of which is the music. Haunting and beautiful. He (Eastwood) composes some of the most memorable music from films I have ever heard. I hummed the score from The Changeling for months afterwards.

  38. Actually Muffy, I’m sorry but… 😆

I think Clint is far more talented director than actor, and I like him as actor and have since he portrayed cowboys in spaghetti westerns. He is very good. Some of the best movies of the last 10 years have been directed by Eastwood – and I thought the Changeling was excellent, and I don’t even like Jolie (I do like her fatgher) – as was Million Dollar Baby and especially Unforgiven.

Didn’t care much for Mystic River, though.

  39. “My guess had been that Weiner sent the photo to someone as a gag and it got into the wrong hands.”-R

R, you got to check your email. Its a picture of my pink wiener and its a real hoot.

    Knee slapper actually.

    Literally. Heyyyooooo!

    Drum Roll.

Your right, its a gag. Just ask Brenda, Kristen and Jenny. Yuk, yuk, yuk.

    Drum roll.

Come on dude, you can’t be that naïve!

  40. Right down the line on that Eastwood films review, Rutherford. We have similar taste in films I’m thinking. I recently added Clint to my top five favorite directors.

  41. Yup, character is a very big deal when it comes to clearances. Here’s the sad part- Congressman get a clearance regardless. Most don’t deserve it. Bankrupcy, debt, “character” issues- you name it, Congressmen have done it.

You’re right though, the blackmail issue is huge. What is sad is that if he is tossed out- at his will or not- it will be the phone sex on a gov line that does him in. Uncle Sam doesn’t play that.

  42. Remember when George Bush Sr. said during the 1992 election, character issues were the most important and was laughed at by the national media as an out of touch, old fogey? Are we still laughing?

If we are, I can promise you we soon won’t be. I noted it was just about that time, and the twenty years that have now followed, that we can’t find many of “character” to run for elective office, can trust money fund managers, can’t trust our judgment concerning friend and foe.

Crossing the Rubicon is right Tigre. However, I still pray we aren’t passed the point of no return for my children.

  43. I think you’re right Gorilla about Weiner eventually being given the boot, but I don’t believe it will be for using government equipment or facilities. They’ll lie about that too and your logic falsely assumes Dimocrats would do it for legality’s sake Law is for little people.

I realize you made the common mistake of slipping for a moment, and having decency yourself and being a patriot, you assumed that the law matters – not within the Dimocratic party.

What I believe will happen is the players of Dimocrat party, who could care less about Weiner’s sexual escapades and most probably would find Weiner’s behavior normal and even typical – after all, it’s two consenting adults, hey who does that hurt blah blah blah – will hold their fingers to the wind and measure how much it will impact the Dimocrat’s chances to recapture the House in 2012.

And they’ll find enough of the independent constituency who thinks Weiner a scumbag and another reason to not vote “D”, and believing it makes party vulnerable, the hacks will abandon Weiner to the wolves.

Unfortunately for them, that assumes Weiner will comply with their wishes. He’s enough of narcissist, he may choose not to cooperate, as I’m almost sure he could still get re-elected.

If they didn’t get rid of Charlie Rangel for the ultimate in governmental hypocrisy, I can see the initial attempt at censure, before the realization sets in they could be jeopardizing themselves.

Never forget the Dimocratic Credo: What’s in for me?

  44. I see the Boney Tony Weiner’s unmentionable in the firmest of positions (is that the opposite of flaccid, best word I could dream up) is now floating around the net. 😆

You just knew it was bound to happen. Oh, by the way, Weiner’s wife is rumored to be pregnant. Triple dog scumbag…

Then again, I never thought Clinton would survive.

  45. Character. Even a little observable character in our elected officials goes a long way. I’m thinking that’s why everyone wants Christie to run and why the Dems are so afraid of him running and are at this minute mining to dig up anything they can on him. I mean we hardly know the guy but I listen to him and think “That doesn’t sound like the usual bs. What is that? Is that the truth?” Is this a dream?

Rest assured the mock horror and finger wagging will return in full force when they find out that the guy burned ants with a magnifying glass in the sixth grade or something.

  46. Come on dude, you can’t be that naïve!

It’s not a matter of being naive. I never thought he was telling the whole truth. I just thought the truth resided in the area of vulgar humor, not an Internet sexual compulsion.

  47. Muffy … Christie does have one problem in common with Weiner. He’s got a big mouth and he’s not afraid to use it. When that’s your MO, any fall you take is a big fall. I like Christie too, at a gut level, but it remains to be seen what’s really there.

The helicopter kerfuffle may only be a prelude to bigger things down the road.

  48. Muffy’s reference to children reminds me of the object lesson Weiner has provided in the Lawson household. A few weeks ago we sent one of our laptops in for repair. Before shipping, my wife wanted to backup all the family pictures to a CD. In doing so, she discovered a picture my seven year old (probably six at the time) took of her own butt with the laptop webcam. After we had a chuckle about it, we sat her down and said “would you want Granddad to ever see that picture?” Of course, she was mortified and said no. So we told her that when you take pictures like that sometimes people can see them that you don’t want to see them.

When she overheard the Weiner scandal being discussed on TV, we doubled down on the lesson and told her that he took pictures of his body that got him into big trouble and reminded her why we told her not to take pictures of her own body again. You could see the gears turning in her head as she thought about it. So I guess I owe Anthony some thanks. His example may actually prevent my kid from ever growing up to be a porn star. 🙂

P.S. This is for the parents on the board … isn’t it amazing how a kid can hear a full paragraph of the spoken word and pick out the word “penis” from the whole bunch? 😆

  49. One of the favorite words my grandkids like to use and chuckle about is penis. It usually comes up in their playful conversations. 😉

We should have seen this coming years ago. Anyone with the name “Weiner” was bound to live up to being all about one.

  50. Rutherford,

Cute story – the innocence of children. I could tell you a few cuties about my oldest daughter, but if she ever gets wind I’m here and happens to read this crap, she’d never forgive me. As it is, they could read some of this and scorn me out of humiliation for being related. 🙂

I’ve always been of the opinion the correct anatomical usage of the reproductive organs (male and female) sounded filthier than the slang, with few exceptions (breast vs. Flake’s debilitating word.)

In gross anatomy, I can remember this gal looking over at me and asking to hold “his scrotum” out of the way – and we snickered like school children. After she got frustrated with dissecting and determined I was blocking her view, she goes, “his balls are still blocking my view.” And I went, “Oh, sorry!” Didn’t even bat an eye until I thought about it later. 😆

And I won’t even mention the snickering school boys sitting around talking about the “vestibule” of the vagina. Of course, smart ass here had to enliven the conversation to a degree out of boredom, so I reverted back to the slang making it easier to describe. Even my anatomy instructor was amused and almost got into the act. I asked young Dr. Kent, why do women have a cremaster muscle? His reply was “to move the major labia out of HARM’s way.” I told him, “yeah, my wife’s cremaster muscle has become incredibly well developed. He said something like “talk’s cheap.”

Was the only part of medical school I actually enjoyed, besides getting to legally grope the pretty girls in my class during OMM. Told one girl she had the finest coccyx I had ever felt. She turned beet red.

  51. Tex, what is this OMM and where can I take it?

And even though you have an unfair advantage as a former med student, I will still give you points for coccyx. Virtually no one knows what the damn thing is and then you have to sound like a dumb ass and say “tail bone”.

I fell smack on mine when I was a kid and it hurt like hell for well over a week. I’ve never been particularly well padded in the rear and that fall reminded me of it vividly.

  52. If you ever wanted to know who I really take my cue from, I’m a rank amateur next to this master of liberal ass roasting. I’ve never seen anyone remotely close with the exception of Limbaugh at rattling the Lib monkey cage. I give you the one and only Ann Coulter:

“The demon is a mob and the mob is demonic… The Democratic Party is the party of the mob, irrespective of what the mob represents. Democrats activate mobs, depend on mobs, coddle mobs, publicize and celebrate mobs—they are the mob. Indeed, the very idea of a “community organizer” is to stir up a mob for some political purpose. “As so frequently happens when a crowd goes wild,” historian Erik Durschmied says, “there is always one who shouts louder and thereby appoints himself as their leader.” Those are the people we call “elected Democrats.” From her new book “DEMONIC: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America

    😆

  53. Getting back to the subject of the previous post for a minute, a close friend of mine recently went through a hassle that is no doubt the unintended consequence of equal opportunity and political correctness.

My friend, a black man in his early 50’s applied for a position at a hedge fund. This establishment was familiar to me because I had researched it for my own employment a few years ago. The place’s credo was “everyone here, regardless of position, is allowed …. no, required, to frankly evaluate the performance of everyone else. If you can’t take criticism, you won’t last here. And we don’t mince words.” A recruiter I was working with back in the day warned me about the place, “Read their web site. Are you sure you want to apply there?” Well as it turned out I never got an interview but my friend got a series of interviews and then was rejected for “cultural” reasons … their exact words.

Now before you assume my conclusion about this, let me deflate your balloon. No, I don’t think he got rejected because of blatant racism. But I DO think race was a factor. I think the cultural problem they were identifying was their own fear that if they treated him as rudely as they treated each other (again, the company credo proudly announced on their web site) that he would file some sort of racial discrimination suit against them or make some claim of a hostile workplace.

Sadly, I think he blew the interview because he played it way too dignified and refined. He needed to demonstrate that he could play rough with the predominantly white staff and that the equal opportunity ego abuse of the place would not phase him. Instead he left them with the impression that he was too polite and they interpreted it as easily offended. I’ve known him 20 years. He could have kicked ass there but the racial climate is such that folks are scared of EO law suits etc.

Another interesting facet to this complex racial conundrum we find ourselves in.

  54. I happen to love Ann Coulter. Unlike her evil twin Michelle Malkin, Ann has a sense of humor. She and Al Franken had a public debate a few years ago. If I can ever find a video of it, I shall enjoy it tremendously.

  55. “R”,

Osteopathic manipulation…Lori was a very pretty blond with perhaps the finest tush in form fitting “soft” scrubs I’ve ever laid eyes on. I may have only made it from the lumbar to the “tail bone”, but my eyes were glued to her gluteus maximus with ill intent. Then you turned your partner over, and you copped a feel all the way from the belly to the pelvic bone with the palm of your hand. To this day, I can’t tell you how thankful I was Lori went first. 😆 This female MD ask me some question during the process, and all I could do was blubber. I know damn well that female doctor knew what was going “thru my head – no pun intended.” 😆

I”m a damn pretend doctor and pervert standing in a medical lab trying to remain in control – and that took about everything I had.

Lori had to originally drop out due to family issues (divorce). So she and I were in class together twice, because I had to take a leave of absences as well. My pretty little blond came in about three sheets to the wind one day in Anatomy Lab, which is funny in itself, put her head on my shoulder, and asked, “What grade did you give my coccyx again?”

As I “stiffened up”, I answered sheepishly, “Darling, without doubt the highest “A”. If there’s ever been a class I wish I could been tutored in, that was the one.

Got an eye bat and a wink out of that one.

  56. Kirsten Powers, a former girlfriend to Weiner-boy, unloads with both barrels on Tony the Dick. Some choice quotes follow…

… “ As more information trickles out about his online behavior with women, it has also become clear that he does not have the character to be in a position of leadership because of his misogynist view of women and predatory behavior.” …

Ironically, this guy drafted legislation for online predatory behavior. How twisted is that?

… “ In an email to me he wrote: “Why not to call the cops: Personal account, no federal case, we don’t know yet what they got, I didn’t send it, statements on sat, sun, monday, the girl said she doesn’t know me, I don’t know her. The people I follow are all people who ask. We’ve hired a law firm but not to protect me, to put together the team to figure out how we prevent and maybe civil or criminal next steps. We don’t know where this photo came from. We have theories. Until we know for sure we open up legal hornets nest if we say.”

He knew I was going on the show Hannity, where I would use this false information to defend him in front of millions of people. I did, and I regret it. The previous day I had reluctantly done an interview with the New York Post at his request to talk about what kind of boyfriend he was. In that story I didn’t address the controversy but talked about my experiences with him. Nonetheless, my friends were furious when the real information came out and they realized he had allowed me to become involved in his sordid controversy. I just felt sorry for him and his wife.” …

We’ve seen this how many times? Where the media completely fails in its obligation as the fourth estate because of political leanings. The only reason anybody knows about this is Andrew Breitbart.

… “Due to nonstop meetings, I had not had time to watch his media blitz prior to my Greta interview and was slack-jawed when I saw clips of him the next day sneering and pointing fingers at other people for what he knew he had done. I am of the general view that politicians are not the most honest group of people, but, even using that very low standard, what I saw in those interviews was deeply disturbing. There is no way anyone can ever believe anything Weiner says again after that. In fact, I highly doubt that what he said in his press conference is even true.” …

Personally, I don’t think we can ever trust anything a Dem says- period- but that is beside the point. This gets back towards the character issue and, more importantly, the issue of trust when it comes to national security. This guys absolutely should resign, but I think he should be prosecuted under the law for fraud (donations received as a result of his lying) and stealing from the government (using federal property, to include internet & phones for personal or inappropriate activity is theft).

… “Narcissism doesn’t begin to describe this kind of behavior. It seems there was nobody he didn’t lie to. The New York Times reported this morning that he told donors a week ago that the scandal was the result of a “vast right-wing conspiracy</b<” and that “everything [would] be fine.” We also learned after his press conference that he coached a former porn star with whom he had communicated online on how to lie to the media.” …

    Vast right-wing conspiracy… I know I’ve heard that somewhere before…

I could go on, but why bother. The guy is scum, and he was one of the best the Dems had to offer. What a sordid cesspool they live in.

Oh, by the way, does anyone remember this:

My New Hero: House Representative Anthony Weiner – Rutherford Lawson, August 19, 2009

  57. re: gross anatomy.

We had a smart-assed grad student named Sheldon C_______ who was a real delight and made gross lab fun, if that’s possible. On one practical test, he put a question flag in the cadaver’s butt crack and we were supposed to give the name.

The correct name is the “natal cleft,” but one of my classmates who couldn’t remember decided to wing it. Sheldon read the answer to the class later, but didn’t identify the source.

    “Crackus magnus”

  58. Apocalyptic Financial Numbers:

The two great legislative monuments to the first Obama term, the remaking of the health-care industry and the Dodd-Frank financial reform, look like they’ve got serious structural cracks. A McKinsey report estimates that a third of employers will abandon their health-insurance plans come 2014. On Tuesday, The Wall Street Journal reported that the failure (or inability) of Dodd-Frank’s regulatory arm to write new rules for the $583 trillion derivatives market has the financial sector in a panic over its legal exposure.

Gulp! $500 Trillion? There’s not enough cash in the known universe to fix that one. I wonder how many Americans recognize they could wake up tomorrow and find no matter what they own or what position they are in, they are worth nothing? Now, I don’t know about you guys but that is the ultimate in “social justice.” Everyone would be on equal footing – Zero, like our President. 😡

We’re in the best of hands!

  59. Here’s another rant and one of my biggest pet peeves:

The price of a college education has doubled as measured in constant dollars over the last 20 years, according to a 2010 report from the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics. Has the value of that education increased comparably?

I swear people. We are being hoodwinked. We are a bunch of lemmings and rubes. Where is the collective fighting spirit of this nation? Why have we not frogmarched these thieves to the curb and tossed them by the nape of the neck in the dipsy dumpster?

This is the end result (failure) when liberals control the agenda. And don’t kid yourselves – liberals have controlled college campuses for the most part for at least 30 years. Absymal results, in conjunction with complete idiocy.

How long will we sit around with our thumbs up our butts and do nothing while the nation dissolves?

  60. Where’s you outrage “progressives?” Where’s the criticism of unfunded, illegitimate wars that you screamed about since 2003? You mealy-mouthed, gutless turds. I ought to do the world a favor and shoot you myself – minus Rutherford, of course. 🙂

“The Obama administration has intensified the American covert war in Yemen, exploiting a growing power vacuum in the country to strike at militant suspects with armed drones and fighter jets, according to American officials.”

And Rutherford. You should be ashamed that you even attempt to defend these criminals and hypocrites. I don’t want to hear another frickin word about illegitimate and unjust wars. That’s two in two months that had absolutely no approval of anyone but a few of your political masters.

  61. I’m mad as hell and not going to take it anymore, or something like that. 😡

All you ugly, bowl-haired, man-hatin’ feminists – yeah, you Rachel Maddow. I have a beef with your rancid behavior too. I don’t want to hear about your second class citizenry anymore and the plight of womanhood. Kiss my Ass Butch.

    The Great (Male) Stagnation

    http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2011/06/the-great-male-stagnation.html

And I loathe you limp noodled, progressive men (;cept Rutherford 🙂 ) even more. I ought to twist your shriveled balls off with a pair of channel locks for shaming testosterone.

Whatever ever happened to men like this? A new spin on a great movie…

We need a lot more George Patton’s and few Congressman Boney Weiner types dammit!

  62. Tex, thanks for the fun morning headlines. Boy am I glad you don’t man a suicide hotline.

My only argument with you would be that all of this covert activity without congressional approval falls under the “war on terror” which Iraq did not.

  63. Boy am I glad you don’t man a suicide hotline.

    😆 😆

“Would Foghorn Leghorn make a really bad book narrator?” Go ahead and jump you son-of-a-bitch! What the hell are you waiting for?

  64. I am keeping an eye on the 11th circuit on this one since I practice in it. I never hold out too much confidence in them, but I think they’ll get this one right.

Now for something completely different: R, did you see Burton on MSNBC this morning? Comedy gold! If that’s going to be the pitch, Obama is T-O-A-S-T.

  65. Remember the stock I was telling you guys about that was around a buck a share a couple months ago?

I just sold for 5 dollars and I’m instantly regretting it, even though I cashed in nicely. This one is mindfucking me.

    (BORK)

  66. Dag Tigre, that matchup is enough to make the mind explode. KKK vs WBC. Be nice if they could fight each other to the death leaving no man standing. 👿

  67. G, that’s one snappy tune from American Crossroads (was that the name of the Debbie Downer ditty).

As for the protests during salute to special Olympians … poor form. What can I say?

  68. what did Weiner Tweet do that was so much worse than what Bill Clinton did?

Well on the one hand, moral slippage is moral slippage. In a world of absolutes, Weiner is not much worse or better than any host of sex scandal stars before him. The new revelation of his wife’s pregnancy adds a certain extra degree of douche-baggery to his behavior.

Tex, I think you’d like Jon Stewart’s analysis. Apparently Weiner called Bill Clinton to apologize. Stewart said, “What’s he apologizing for, copyright infringement?” 😆

  69. I heard that on Stewart earlier. 🙂 Stewart can be funny, but he is once again showing his bias and hypocrisy protecting his buddy Tweet Weiner. If the shoe on the other party foot….

But I mean seriously. You got to admit that once Clinton’s sordid behavior was excused as “just about sex” between two consenting adults, it really left the door open to excusing about type of behavior. As far as I’m concerned, Clinton’s actions, his lying, his using his wife as cover were far more horrid than anything Tweet Weiner did.

I just wonder when Dimocrats will finally admit that Bill Clinton was a true scumbag, and perjuring himself before the court should have been grounds for resignation or dismissal. I have no idea whether an impeachable offense, but Clinton’s lying surely reached the level of national shame that was worthy of his resignation.

Clinton created a huge amount of secondary damage in this country that has better come to light as the years have gone bye.

  70. Read this bullshit. Guess we don’t need electricity now? And you libs Rutherford think we need more government regulation? This is so incredibly stupid, only the jackbooted thugs from the EPA could have thought of it.

You want to know why there is no middle class anymore “R”? You can soak the rich all you want, but it won’t bring these jobs back, or not drive up the price of electricity 35% for those impacted.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/e2-wire/677-e2-wire/165651-aep-epa-regs-will-cost-billions-and-result-in-five-closed-plants

  71. Tex, you ain’t seen shit yet. Wait until you see what the EPA has in store for small businesses from drycleaners to fastfood restuarants. Any business that emits carbon — which EVERY SINGLE BUSINESS — will be shouldered with a compliance scheme that would blow your mind. Rutherford’s daughters won’t be able to open a lemonade stand without millions of dollars in EPA compliance measures and approval. It’s sickening what is going on with this “EPA schtick” (as Rutherford calls it). Left unchecked (which it is by its very nature), it’ll be the death of our economy.

Oh, but I but I must not be in favor of clean air. 🙄 Duuuuuuhhhh!

  72. Tigre,

What startles me and troubles me greatly about intelligent men like Rutherford and the late Hippie Professor are that they know this is fascism lite and will eventually destroy us – and still they think more government regulation, government health care, more government meddling is the answer. They refuse to admit that examples such as ours are what is killing the middle class.

Dammit people, wake the hell up. Your own middle class lives are about to disappear as you know it, whether you believe it or not. And you are asleep at the wheel. Unless you are very wealthy and connected, you will not be immune and you will suffer greatly. Our country is about 12-18 months away from a collapse that we have not seen in our lifetime, and you will watch your life change dramatically in hours.

We have a very small window to fix this.

The Chinese claim we are already starting to default on our debts. You big government proponents? Is your ego so fragile who can’t admit you were wrong and that government is the problem and not the answer? That if this system collapses, it will pit neighbor against neighbor, and there really will be mob rule?

  73. “what did Weiner Tweet do that was so much worse than what Bill Clinton did? – Tex

When the culture loses touch with the concept of consequences, generations grow more childish. Clinton’s transgressions were slightly less mature than the actions of previous philandering husbands who held the office of the Presidency. Weiner’s actions are somewhere out in the stratosphere of immaturity. He’s like a small child with a pee pee. He doesn’t hold the highest office in the nation, but he’s a representative in every sense of the word. He, *sigh*, is one of our leaders.

Add to immaturity, the internet produces more deceit. Social networking sites have made what was wrong before much easier and less real now. People are becoming more and more detached from reality and more involved in unreal worlds.

    Aloha! Namaste! Shalom! Salami! Baloney!

  74. But I wasn’t finished.

So the holder the highest public office in the nation degrades himself by illuminating the nation he leads on the idea that BJ’s aren’t sexual relations, and the other deceives himself into thinking that sending pictures of his erect penis to strangers is anything but muthereffing crazy. And the lies are just swept away.

  75. Gold, silver, food, ammo, land, tribe.

    Get you some.

Puts this summer, Calls this winter.

All profits go to silver and gold.

Middle Class: you will endure one more flogging by Obama and the banks. It won’t be called QE3. But it will maim our backs for life.

They will destroy us all before they would lose an election or fortune.

  77. Clinton’s transgressions were slightly less mature than the actions of previous philandering husbands who held the office of the Presidency.

Oh Muffy, on this one I’m going to have to disagree big time. Now I agree adultery is adultery in the marital and moral sense. But slightly less mature? Not if you define reckless as immature.

Let’s take the two most recent Presidents that were rumored to be serial philanderers: (1) John F. Kennedy and to a lesser degree and never proven (2) Dwight Eisenhower.

    Did either of them:

    (1) Lie before a court while charges of sexual harassment were being investigated?
    (2) In the Oval Office with somebody half their age who worked for them on the public dole, while purportedly on Presidential time delaying talks with a diplomat?
    (3) On national TV announced “I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky.”
    (4) Lie to their own wife, and then let her run interference under charges of “vast right wing conspiracy, making a fool of her too?

Let’s not forget why Clinton was pursued. There had been charges of rape from two different women that had previously worked for Clinton and/or were in involved in the raising of campaign contributions.. Both were more than credible and never pursued it further. There had been charges of sexual harassment by multiple women, the most famous brought by Paula Jones.

A little less mature? I don’t think so, and in fact, Clinton and his facade of a record in its his own right (as a crushing tech bubble followed him out of the White House along with other sordid details), including pardoning the biggest tax cheat in American history should at the very least been equally scorned and equally pressured to get out. Impeachment was a ruse. Clinton was recklessly dangerous.

From that time on, I knew most Dimocrats real intentions – power at any cost. And men of little morals like Lanny Davis are still lying for Clinton.

  78. Rabbit (ggho) I see you are dead set on driving me crazy. OK … be that way … just understand I only check my moderated comments a few times a day so if you keep screwing with handles and email addresses, your comments aren’t gonna see the light of day for possibly several hours. 😦

  79. Okay, sometimes (not very often with Rutherford being the exception and he being more pink than green) you greener libbies do amaze me. And you’re generally the same ones carrying around signs about Global Warming warnings Yes We Can! Armageddon – Global Climate Change.

And if the final results were any different and people didn’t die on your account, I would provide you with the legendary ** GUFFAW ** just to spite you predictable imbeciles.

So instead, I give you as example one of the biggest ripoffs ever foisted on the gullible, perhaps just plain dumb, American public. I am pleased to admit not once did I knowledgeably buy your feces stained, filthy garbage at exorbitant prices. But many did.

Remember the promises of health of “organic” foods that all the greenies were pushing? They’re all over San Francisco and Hawaii in open markets, usually manned by old filthy hippie types, male pattern balding and pony tails smelling of body odor or Manson looking women, and many times flighty looking young, naive yuppies wearing their new Birkenstocks, wishing to get back to nature. Consider this…

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “One German organic farm has killed twice as many people as the Fukushima nuclear disaster and the Gulf Oil spill combined.” Reaction: “Crickets.”

  80. Oh, and one other pinch of good news: Obama’s DOW now has had six straight losing weeks – the longest in nine years and months after 9/11.

Congratulations all you that voted for Obama. 😉

  81. “I am pleased to admit not once did I knowledgeably buy your feces stained, filthy garbage at exorbitant prices.”-Tex

    Lol!

    That cracks me up.

I’ve been a total organic rube before. I also was running with my head chopped off for a few minutes over the nuke melt down and the oil leak.

(I still swear by organic milk).

That being said, don’t count me in as one of the crickets, because I’m chirpin’ even if I’m doing at my own expense.

So telling that an organic farm killed more then both of said disasters and nobody is freaking out about organic farms.

    Classic.

    All hail Tex Taylor!

  82. I don’t think even the SEC or Justice Department understands the housing crisis.

As far as the Rabbit can tell, and the Rabbit has been obsessed on this issue, Goldman Sachs made a killing as a middle man by facilitating a market between the housing bond shorts with AIG .

AIG is bar none the dumbest organization to ever be bailed out by the tax payers in all of history. A fucking travesty. Those dumbasses essentially bet the farm on no doc loans and sub prime ARM’s given to dudes with no income. Foreclosure was a certainty!

Don’t get me wrong, GS manipulated the sub prime tranches and paid off the ratings agencies to label the utter shit AAA. They are economic terrorists. But, why go after them for something they didn’t do? Go after them for their crimes!

  83. (1) John F.

    Your analysis is faulty.

Ike bad example … better example would have been FDR who fooled around so bad Eleanor basically stopped talking to him

    1) In Ike’s and FDR’s day we did not have the commonly understood definitions of sexual harassment. It was not recognized and women were condemned to tolerate it. You’re being anachronistic. You can’t just transplant behavioral norms across time periods.

    2) I believe Marilyn Monroe was considerably younger than JFK and RFK had a shot at her too. JFK supposedly had so many partners they had to make appointments. You REALLY think they were in their 40’s? You really think none of them had government jobs?

    3) Since the sexual peccadilloes, if that is the right word, of FDR and JFK would NEVER have been touched by the press, neither would have had a chance to say “I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinsky.” And what were the odds that any of their mistresses were named Monica Lewinsky? 😀 (By the way, the press NEVER told anyone FDR was handicapped. Again you’re ignoring the norms of the day.)

    4) The only one who made a fool of Hillary was Hillary. She made a Faustian bargain the day she married slick Willie. They are both political operatives who decided they were better together than apart.

  84. I didn’t use FDR because I didn’t want a whiner from the left to cry wolf about me singling out Dimocrats for awful behavior – I purposely chose Eisenhower.

No, it’s not my logic that is faulty, but yours. And gives a perfect time for me to point out why for all of your talent and intellect Rutherford, you are a seriously unprincipled and amoral person, unable to recognize good from evil, and right from wrong.

The sins and hurt of adultery and lying don’t ebb and flow from one generation to the next as acceptable and unacceptable norms. What Weiner did, though deviant, is not on the scale of the lies Clinton told or his actions. What Clinton did was criminal, as he lied in the courts and left a trail of destruction. He destroyed Monica Lewinsky and attempted to let his thugs destroy others. But because Weiner is considered a expendable pol while Clinton was not, Clinton was excused and his grievances minimized. Al Gore paid the price for Bill Clinton in 2000.

And to this day, you pathetic people have the unmitigated gall to trot Clinton out as some beacon of light and hope. Clinton is a very smart, very devious predator and proven liar.

I would not leave Bill Clinton in a room alone with my wife or my daughters – the former President of the United States mind you, can’t exercise self-control.

Any country that would hold this man up as model is on the road to destruction. And that, we are.

  85. And apparently Huma is learning from her master. More to gain from a husband who’s a Congressman AND a sexual predator than just the later. I still say he’s got about a week or two left. He’s toxic and no one is coming to his aid.

  86. He destroyed Monica Lewinsky and attempted to let his thugs destroy others.

Oh, pul-leeze! He made her a household name. Poor, poor, Monica. It was a set-up. A honey-trap. She has ties to Mossad. I know you hate Clinton, but at least get the false notion of this “innocent” girl out of your mind.

  87. Poolman is quoting from the treasurer for LaRouche campaign. 😆 😆 😆 And I suppose all those other women were conspired with them Mossad too? Well, I suppose if I ever commit adultery and lie about, then that’s what I’ll tell my wife. It was a setup. I don’t think I’m going to find a sympathetic ear.

Do you know what a damn joke you are hillbilly? Put the MadDog away and sober up.

A setup – it was a setup. Yasser Al-Poolman, Christian poseur extraordinaire, and his Jewish Conspiracy theories again. Do the world a favor and go find a comet to hitch Yasser.

Monica Lewinsky was of the same idiot cloth as the rest of the ‘come hither’ dumps Clinton skirt chased and scored, with delusions of being something, and not much else. I don’t need your white supremacist and skin head sites to confirm that hillbilly.

  88. Gorilla, I agree with the pundits who say if he just keeps his head down (no pun intended) he can weather the storm.

Tex, as usual you misunderstand. I’m not saying right and wrong changes with the times. I’m saying the perception changes with the times.

Finally the last damn thing I expected to read tonight was that Monica Lewinsky had any connection with Mossad. LOL Poolman, you are too much!

  89. Tex, as usual you misunderstand. I’m not saying right and wrong changes with the times. I’m saying the perception changes with the times.

Perception is irrelevant and baloney I misunderstood. That’s like saying the rule of law is perception – if that were the case, laws would be meaningless, as we would all operate under our own set of guidelines. Of course, that is how Dimocrats conduct the rule of law – by perception of their own norm called deviant.

    ———–

Face it. Once again the hypocrisy and dishonesty of the Left-wing smear machine aka Dimocratic party is on full display.

Clinton’s slimy trysts were far more egregious and damaging than Weiner’s and Clinton lied before the courts, even went on national television to state his innocence. Weiner’s Tweets far more egregious than Chris Lee, who simply sent a correspondence with his shirt off. Tasteless and tacky,, but hardly the same as sending his stiff rod. Lee resigned.

And Lee resigned because Republicans are held to a far different standard than are Dimocrats. Had Clinton been a Republican, he would have been removed from office or resigned. There is no question. As it is, 56% of Weiner’s constituents don’t want him to resign. What does that say of your constituency Rutherford? Pretty low, hey?

  90. “Muffy, I heard someone say today that what Weiner did was the 21st century version of “opening your raincoat”. -R

I don’t believe that to be the case. Opening your rain coat is much more taboo. What he did is a 21 century form of cheating. It’s just that the information revolution captures things for all of posterity making Wiener a complete laughing stock.

What he did is common place example of modern sin. People do it all the time.

When I first used the internet I used to talk nasty with what I presumed were chicks (I hope they were) . They would even send me naked pics of themselves and stuff. Some of them wanted to meet. That’s when I realized what I was doing was sinful, as I was engaged. So I stopped that shit.

  91. re: Clinton.

It seems to me that all of history has a lesson for us: powerful men have powerful sex drives and women are attracted to powerful men. It’s a formula for gunpowder, and I believe clearly evolution-driven.

Why not recognize that fact and simply have an iron-clad Constitutional requirement that all concubines and mistresses undergo a full vetting process? Then we could get back to the Country’s business instead of wasting our time on such distractions as whether our President ejaculated on a twenty-something’s blue dress.

Personally, president or not, were I married to Hillary Clinton I wouldn’t have waited fifteen minutes to look for pussy. I applaud his self-control.

  92. Personally, president or not, were I married to Hillary Clinton I wouldn’t have waited fifteen minutes to look for pussy. I applaud his self-control.

Yeah, but you’re missing one thing. Why did Slick Willy marry Hillary Rotten in the first place? Damn sure wasn’t for her looks or her disposition, but then I never did understand how women found Slick much to look at either.

Perhaps Clinton’s judgment isn’t quite as savvy as all you Dims like to believe he is? Hey?

Slick’s track record isn’t so great. I’m shocked the philanderer hasn’t dropped dead of a M.I. already.

  93. Yasser Al-Poolman? You know my tolerance for your asinine assertions about the evil Jews and them running Christians out of Israel? How you and your LaRouche buddies always spin it in the worst light without an ounce of proof?

I wish to set the record straight this morning, so we can put the argument to rest. How about we ask the people themselves?

McDermott, who will speak in Tulsa on Saturday, walked The Jesus Trail through Galilee in northern Israel. His son, National Geographic photographer Ross McDermott, accompanied him on the 40-mile trek from Nazareth to Capernaum.

“My thought was to interview as many people as I could – secular Jews, religious Jews, Muslims, Arab Christians – asking them what they thought about Jesus,” said McDermott, who was on sabbatical from his position as religion professor at Roanoke College in Salem, Va.

“What I found surprised me in all sorts of ways,” he said.

His biggest surprise was that Arab Christians were afraid to be photographed or to give their names. Muslims and Jews had no such reservations, he said.

Asked why they were afraid, he said, they said it was because of their cousins, Arab Muslims.

“Contrary to what we read in the media, it’s not the state of Israel that’s driving the Arab Christians out of Israel, it’s the Arab Muslims,” he said.

According to the Religion & Ethics News Weekly, the number of Christians in the Holy Land dropped to 2 percent of the population from 20 percent during the 20th century.

    http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?subjectid=18&articleid=20110611_18_A15_CUTLIN778284

So why don’t you Mr. Poolman find another conspiracy to pursue?

  94. Tex,

Even your idolized King Solomon was defeated by the influence of women. Sex has time and again proven to be the Achilles’ heel to many competent and strong governing men. Even angels! Political persuasion has no bearing in this sin.

Your assertion that some of the smartest, craftiest, and most paranoid people on earth do not use sex as bait or a weapon is naive at best. There are recorded tapes of Bill and Monica having phone sex. Who would find such things beneficial in light of the other events of the day? Timing is everything, when your game’s on.

  95. You make accusation of my naivety Poolman? A Lyndon Larouche proponent? A conspiracy tool of the first order? Naive should not be in your vocabulary – you’re the model for it. Your accusation is not only untrue as I’ve never denied smart, crafty and paranoid people using sex scandal as weapon, but I’ve made countless posts here verifying that fact.

Bill Clinton wasn’t simply a seducer or weak man Poolman – he was a predator and liar that is well documented. Slick should have been forced to resign and would have under moral circumstances once upon a time. In fact, if Clinton had any scruples whatsoever, he would have voluntarily left. How his wife could bear with the humiliation and attack while defending is equally twisted. These are not moral, normal people and never to be trusted. They have no shame.

The fact you so easily can go looking to excuse such actions, even finding “proof” that Clinton was a victim to minimize the cosmic deficiencies of a sociopath, says as much about you as it did Clinton. Hard to believe you can be so greasy…

  96. Tex @ 124: That’s the triple-truth, Ruth! Hit it on the head. Expendable. That’s the real test. R has to know this. What if it were Obama and these “consenting adults?” (that’s rhetorical — you’d be comparing him to Kennedy, another mythic figure for the dems, to excuse Ceaasar Obama’s conduct).

Couldn’t have said it better myself, Tex.

Poolman, time to “up” the dosage.

  97. Oh, now Pelosi, the defender of Clinton, wants the Weiner resignation. I guess he’s been deemed insignificant enough to jettison.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/06/11/pelosi-israel-tell-weiner-he-should-resign/

Still looking for the real distinction between Weiner and Clinton in the dems analysis. In my opinion, what Clinton did was far worse than Weiner (at least tyhat we know about). Where’s the application fo the Clitnon standard (what happens between consenting adults gives license to even perjury) defense?

  98. The fact you so easily can go looking to excuse such actions, even finding “proof” that Clinton was a victim to minimize the cosmic deficiencies of a sociopath, says as much about you as it did Clinton.

Your typical comprehension inabilities, once again in “print”. Where did I ever defend his actions or character? I say he was played. I didn’t say he wasn’t a player. Most of the people running in that crowd are psychopaths and sex junkies. If you think Hillary isn’t/wasn’t aware of all that…well…I keep hating to beat a dead horse, but you’re acting pretty lame.

Hard to believe you can be so greasy…

Enough with the ethnic crap, effin racist!

  99. Tex @ 124: That’s the triple-truth, Ruth!

Tigre, balderdash! I tore Tex’s argument to shreds.

One meme I’ve heard lately that rings true is that the Democrats and Republicans whose policies have bankrupted hard working Americans are far more dangerous to our nation than Congressmen playing silly sex games.

  100. By the way, the real distinction between Clinton and Weiner: Virtually no one likes Weiner within the beltway. His constituents love him. Progressives who want a strong advocate love him. His fellow Dem politicians hate him because he sucks all the air out of the room … he gets all the coverage … and to some extent there is probably a small hint of antisemitism that he’s a loud New York Jew who they were just waiting to take a fall.

    There’s your distinction.

  101. Poolman, I am a bit surprised by Tex’s sudden sympathy for Hillary Clinton. Clearly no one deserves to be cheated on but as I said before, Hillary knows what she gets out of her partnership with Bill. And he knows what he gets out of it. They have both decided they are better together than apart regardless of how atrocious Bill’s behavior.

P.S. Poolman, I don’t remember your ethnic background but I honestly didn’t interpret Tex’s “greasy” to be an ethnic slur. I took it to be synonymous with sleazy.

  102. Poolman, I don’t remember your ethnic background but I honestly didn’t interpret Tex’s “greasy” to be an ethnic slur. I took it to be synonymous with sleazy.

    50 percent Guinea/Wop/Dago. I’m just bustin’ his balls. 😎

  103. Tigre, balderdash! I tore Tex’s argument to shreds.

But nobody noticed but you? You disagreed with my opinions and provided your own, which are based on your poor memory. That’s not shredding anything. Points 2-4 were irrelevant, and I didn’t even bother to address your “genius”, because they were wrong, or simply lent further credence to my points and I’ve answered those bogus charges here many times before.

Don’t strain the ligaments of the rotator cuff patting yourself on the back, but that sounds like the school dork, who after getting his butt kicked each and every day at school, runs home behind closed doors and “shreds” the big kids with his imaginary friends.

Rutherford, the truth is seldom in you anymore. I asked you a simple question with an obvious answer and all you had to say is, “there is not.” The only thing that has been shredded is your opportunity to finally set yourself free of the burden of the ton of liberal hypocrisy you carry, and you failed miserably, furthering the load.

P.S. – Since when have I been a sympathizer of Hillary here? I think if you were to reread, the Proper first name followed by the word “rotten” is neither sympathetic or complimentary. I simply said what does it say of a man that would allow his wife to make a fool of herself, no matter how horrid a person she is? That’s not being complimentary to the wife, but critical of the husband..

  104. R, I don’t see where you refuted Tex. Sorry dude. No shreds lying around that I see. “Nobody likes Weiner in the beltway” makes the point. Well, “we liked him an Olbermann kind of way, but he’s expendable in the final analysis,” right? The double standards are the product of the democrats floating ethical standards, precisely what I was complaining about originally.

The kind that should never be tolerated but will by the left that has set its precedent. It’s quintessential liberal thinking. Tex called you on it. Why don’t you see it? Is it the vast right-wing consiracy that allows the left to excuse or condemn wrongdoing depending on the exegencies of the moment?

  105. “One meme I’ve heard lately that rings true is that the Democrats and Republicans whose policies have bankrupted hard working Americans are far more dangerous to our nation than Congressmen playing silly sex games.”

Only a dem would say that. So what? Look the other way. Character, trust, principles be damned? Funny, I view the lack of them a most pernicious danger to our nation. And you only see that when its a hypocritical republican.

You deserve what you get R.

  106. Tigre,

Think there will ever come a day in the near future when Liberal Dimocrats might shift their focus from everything Sarah or Michelle and perhaps work on something constructive?

Like, maybe try to produce a budget, addressing the shortfalls of Medicare, or concerning themselves with high unemployment?

Rutherford is confused why I could believe most Liberals are shallow, covetous, and like children. Why I might believe most adult liberals are mentally ill.

One thing about the lack of outrage over Clinton. It taught me that if you could excuse Clinton’s behavior and could insist that was no big deal, your own innate dishonesty and immorality makes you capable of believing anything, doing anything.

  107. “Think there will ever come a day in the near future when Liberal Dimocrats might shift their focus from everything Sarah or Michelle and perhaps work on something constructive?

Like, maybe try to produce a budget, addressing the shortfalls of Medicare, or concerning themselves with high unemployment?”

    Nope. Aint gonna happen.

  108. FIgured I’d better drop the bad news now…. Rutherford has probably volunteered to help read them like the Washington Post asked volunteers. 🙄

Bombshell Palin Email Surfaces: ‘Trig Will Be a Joy’

  109. Yeah Tex. We have also discovered there is deep division within the Palin household as to which of the Twilight guys is the best.

  110. I asked a black (highly educated) friend about Obama’s chances. He is an unwavering Obama supporter and said if the republican field doesn’t improive it’s a slam dunk reelection. I told him that Obama is in much, much worse condition than the “approval” polls are showing and, unless something changes dramatically, a stuffed animal could beat Obama. Since Obama MUST now run on his record rather than his race and meaningless slogans, tell me how you sell his “accomplishments.” Well, he said, “I’ll have to think on that — it’s going to be hard when the republicans won’t give him any credit for what he has done.” If you had to think “what’s wrong with that response,” good luck to you.

So, R I’ll pose the same question to you. How does Obama sell his 3 years in the debates with anyone? He hasn’t been caught in a sex scandal, and if he were it would about racsim anyway.

  111. “Think there will ever come a day in the near future when Liberal Dimocrats might shift their focus from everything Sarah or Michelle and perhaps work on something constructive?”

Yeah. I heard Palin used the words “sheesh” in an email. I also heard Bacchman was dumb. Sgt Shutlz and R’s buddy Crazy Larry, the resident geniuses at MSNBC, said so. Thank God their watching our backs.

Keep hunting. Attacking Palin and Bachmann will win Obama a second term. 🙄

  112. He will tell the same kind of lies that recently got him awarded 3 Pinocchios in a fact-check article on 1 of his recent speeches.

He will claim he has created jobs. And he will continue to snivel about the crappy deal he inherited, how things were so much worse than anyone expected, and how he needs the same amount of time to fix the problem as he will say it took for us to get into it.

In other words…he will sell it the same way he’s been selling it all along.

  113. Huck, that’ll flat. He can’t run against Bush and “it could’ve been worse” when we’re in the shape we’re in.

Of course, it won’t stop him. It’s all he’s got.

But my daughter’s stuffed animals know the dems screwed the pooch. They would crucify Obama in a debate with the false claims of victory and downright lies referred to by his sycophantic admirers as “accomplishments.” All they’d have to do is remain silent — knowing that the left thinks everyone’s too fucking stupid to know how wonderful the dems performed while they had absolute control when they’re not. It’ll haunt them like it did last November.

Seriously. I can’t even imagine how Obama will sell himself in a debate against anyone. . . I mean anyone. People aren’t “in the mood” for democratic bullshit anymore. I really believe that. I think folks across the board are on the verge of true anger. It’s masked by the media as it always will be. But it’s there. I don’t think Rutherford understands that. If he did he wouldn’t have been doing the victory dance when Obama sought to take undeserved credit for all of his bravery in taking out Bin Laden. 🙄

  114. Tigre and Huck. When it gets down to brass tacks:

Never forget almost 50% of the people in this country don’t pay a dime of federal taxes. Almost one out of six American citizens are on food stamps. Dims are fabulous at scaring rubes about SS and Medicare as witnessed in upper state N.Y. about a month ago, never mind the system is insolvent in less than a decade. The mindless and the selfish don’t think past tonight.

95% of blacks are going to vote Obama, no matter what happens, and I’m guessing 2/3 of Hispanics will do the same. That means that no matter how awful Obama is, and I don’t know how he could have been anymore incompetent and inane besides maybe missing UBL, Obama is already at 40% of the vote. That’s why Obama will always have at least a 40% approval rating or better. 40% of Americans are completely dependent on local and federal government to feed them, being mindless and stupid – and Dimocrats buy votes with their lies and promises they can’t fulfill. Look at New Orleans – what a frickin’ waste of humanity. How many billions have we dumped into that shit lagoon? For what?

Then you’ve got the “cheating and raising the dead factor” which runs about 5-25% in the northeast and west coast urban areas. The biggest hurdle is getting these drunks, dopeheads, and deviants to the polls. Stuffing the ballot boxes is easy because the stuffers are union goons and part of the deviant crowd. That’s why you see hoards of buses with smokes and booze carting the worthless tits to the voting booth. Common site in Philly and Chicago, for instance.

This has been building for 60 years and is finally coming to a head, because now the nation is flat broke. That’s why white liberals are so morally bankrupt – the only way they remain in power is by preying on the above listed and they are not about to get stuck when the bottom drops out. Guaranteed they’ve already got their European reservations. Nobody rational disputes this.

I don’t mean to sound arrogant or elitist, but consider this fact. 34% of Americans surveyed believe that Obama is doing a good or excellent job on the economy. 😯 It is impossible to overcome that magnitude of stupidity, so you basically wave 34% of the vote if you are a Republican.

And never, ever forget the ignorance of the general populace. Look at network TV.

I think after all the dust settles, and assuming the Republican nominate a better candidate this time, I would wager they are legitimately about 5-7 points ahead at this moment with not much room for error.

It will all depend on how the economy does that will sway the 10% of the vote of places like Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Got to remember the Dim credo which half the nation takes as gospel: what’s in it for me?

  115. Tex, agreed. But they have to turn out. My observations of the balck vote here tells me they might support Obama, but they won’t make the same effort to turn out for him. By contrast, the demonizing and class warfare will turn out the conservative vote.

I still think the numbers reflect a “like” of the image projected by Obama, but not his policies. As I said would happen months ago, he’s no longer “cool” and accomplished nothing other than trillions in government spending with nothing to show. One need only ask him about his accomplishments. He’s got NONE. Seriously, watch Burton on R’s favorite station, MSNBC, last Thursday. Even the “in the bag” libs had to laugh at the inanity of the talking points.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036789/ns/msnbc_tv-morning_joe/#43337915

Obama’s not credible. And he’s running out of money to buy votes. Even the media is having a hard time selling the lies. Watch them flounder without any traction left on the blame Bush meme. 9% unemployment even tells welfare recipients the slop trough might not be replenished. Apathy yes, votes no.

  116. Well, the most important number to me Tigre is depending on which poll you choose, between 47-53% of people who do vote have said “they will not vote for Obama under any circumstances.” And that has been pretty consistent for well over 18 months right now.

With a good Republican candidate, I think it should be a rout for the Republicans. But it’s got to be a good, electable candidate – not some McCain rube. That would make it close.

It shows you really how weak America has become when a complete fraud, mismanaged joke and imbecile like Obama is still considered even viable for reelection. Really, why should this sham even be given consideration for a second term considering the horrible economic record, the abysmal foreign policy failure, the unemployment record, the lies and distortions of the 2008 campaign, the catering to failed unions, the failed war strategies, the zoo full of tools and pinkos for staff, the perceptions that we are nearing not another recession, but possible Depression?

The feeling is palpable we are nearing a disaster not seen before. Biden is a butt head and buffoon and everyone knows it. There’s not a damn thing about Obama that is appealing anymore – not one. That phony blowhard couldn’t check the oil level in a car – completely incapable. But because we’ve got so many sponges in this country, it always gives the Dims hope that somehow Dimocrats can steal enough, soak enough for a few more years buy purchasing votes and resurrecting the dead.

Hell, this charlatan just lost his last economic cabinet member. They’re bailing on this flimflam – it’s the Bismarck and economists know it. This is the apocalypse.

I’d wrap that sorry record around Obama’s scrawny neck so tight, he’s eyes would bulge for the next sixteen months. Go on the attack immediately and don’t let up. Treat Zero like the left does Sarah Palin and give these POS a taste of their own medicine. Drag every scumbag he’s cavorted with out of the dark. Holder, Jones, the rest of those commies he’s appointed. Get that Obama asshole that runs GM on the record to about adding a dollar a gallon for gas and pin that to Obama’s lame ass too. When that SOB opens his mouth about the success of the bailouts, every American should know by heart the billions that really cost us with a finger pointed at Zero. Shut his lying mouth every time he opens it!!!!

I know I’m going to every chance I get. Of course, where I’m from Zero won’t get by 30% of the vote. Graychin and the Dawg are the only residents that don’t disdain the SOB. 😆

  117. I’m not sure it matters anymore.

    Bankrupt is bankrupt.

Obama slayed an already wounded animal.

Government is everywhere and everywhere is unsustainable.

Obama was the perfect storm needed to crush us. There is no fixing this.

Only the Fed keeps this facade going.

  118. I’m going to bed but damn what a depressing collection of comments today, topped off by Rabbit’s “we might as well all slit our wrists” coda. 😦

    By the way, Tigre:

Attacking Nominating Palin and Bachmann will win Obama a second term.”

I fixed it for you. 🙂

  119. This is the apocalypse.

Jest, surely you, master Luke. Prophetic, very of you.

I’d wrap that sorry record around Obama’s scrawny neck so tight, he’s eyes would bulge for the next sixteen months.

Such compassion could use better channeling…

Oh yes… Father, we accept that no person is perfect, except for You. Today we lift the leaders you placed over us in prayer. We know You know them better than we do and ask that You bless them and keep them on the path of righteousness. We pray Your Spirit will guide them to boldly stand for truth and justice. Keep them healthy and safe, we pray. Give them servant hearts and a great compassion for people. Draw them to You. We thank You that we can pray for them and that we can participate in the election process. Please guard the integrity of our vote. Guard their hearts from evil. Shine Your light into our government and revive it. Give us renewal. Thank You for continued grace and mercy over us.

  120. I’m going to bed but damn what a depressing collection of comments today, topped off by Rabbit’s “we might as well all slit our wrists” coda.

On the bright side, it has been said, “It is always darkest before the dawn.” Ya never know, we could be starting a whole new kind of adventure. Change keeps us fresh. On your toes…

  121. R, your edit didn’t fix the sarcasm. 😆

Anyway, you guys that watch MSNBC keep shadow boxing. It’ll work the same way it did last November. Dems are out of touch. Polarizing or not, following Palin and Bachmann around solely to demonize and beat them up is a wasted effort. Tell me how you plan to sell Obama. Really. He can’t simply cross out Bush from his prior speeches and replace it with Palin, Bachman or ________.

Obama’s been a failure. You know it, I know it, the whole effing world knows it. Hanging another (metaphorical) Nobel Prize around his neck and claiming that he’s here to save us all just won’t work.

I can see why you’re depressed. The teen idol you invested so much in isn’t appearing on the cover of Tiger Beat as much anymore. The grown ups have come downstairs to tell the giggling teenagers to be quiet and go to bed.

  122. And listening to your buddy’s at MSNBC that have developed and their entire approach to journalism (snicker) on telling American that self-loathing is virtuous are now talking about American exeptionalism to get us out of this mess. Got that? Not Obama’s exceptionalism. America’s. I find the new approach a remarkable indicator.

  123. This is the apocalypse. Jest, surely you, master Luke. Prophetic, very of you.

The force is strong in this one.

I see in your well received absence here Poolman, you remained doubled down on Chatty and still 30 months in arrears. .Rutherford strokes you because he needs the friends. The rest of us just think you’re still dense as iridium and a Chatty Kitchen beaver in overalls and a bib. Try to remember that.

I’d wrap that sorry record around Obama’s scrawny neck so tight, he’s eyes would bulge for the next sixteen months.

Such compassion could use better channeling…

Which Chatty Cathy Kitchen member taught you that tired cliche in private? Granny Jean Shalom? Sister De Lunkhead? Aborting Annie? Luau Sally?

    Channel this Sponge:

Your time here could better be spent making the attempt to pay back those you’ve stolen from and educating yourself about tax law. Perhaps you could switch careers to something more benefiting your talents like ditch digger.

Remember, there’s always hope Wizard – look what God did for Robert Byrd.

  124. Gorilla, their lips are moving but they just don;t get it. There it is. Obama’s sales pitch. “Turned this economy around.” 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😯

Tex, what the hell is Chatty Cathy Kitchen? I feel like I’m missing out on some pretty profound exchanges.

  125. Tigre,

Chatty Kitchen is the secret meeting place of the pumice faced hags, glue factory nags, shrews, harpies, finks, and abortions of Fat Grannies – they gather there to roost, cackle and soothe themselves behind closed doors and in private after their fat asses slapped red at Fat Grannies.

They all practically live their now. Poolman is an upstanding member. 😆 A disgrace to manhood.

I haven’t been over there in a couple of days since I left a “tome sizzler” in return volley, replete with “I don’t give a damn about your well being….” I need to get back over there and read the reaction. I can almost hear the shrieking now.

    Shalom! Baloney! Salami! Jihadi!

  126. Tigre, to add some flavor, it was Chatty Kitchen that linked to my professional web site, tipping me off that they were doing their op-research on me.One of them had apparently made a comment about me in a password protected area that included a link to my site.

    Odd bunch of folks.

P.S. I kinda like the fact they were so stupid as to think I couldn’t find out what they were up to. Shame I’m not a hacker or I would’ve gotten past the damn password to see what they were really up to.

  127. “Tex, what the hell is Chatty Cathy Kitchen? I feel like I’m missing out on some pretty profound exchanges.”

No kidding. If it weren’t for their outing practices, I’d be over there, myself.

  128. Ya never know, we could be starting a whole new kind of adventure.

Apropos comment Poolman in light of the fact we are both going through a financial rebirth of sorts. 🙂

  129. R, your edit didn’t fix the sarcasm.

LOL if you really think saying that nominating Palin or Bachmann ensures an Obama win is sarcasm then you’ve been smoking some very very bad weed.

Let’s put it this way to give you the benefit of the doubt. I suppose you feel that in less desperate times, Obama would never have been elected. So I counter that a Palin or Bachmann presidential win will be a sign of the utmost desperation on the part of the American people. It’s equivalent to a nation throwing up its hands and saying “what the hell, I’ll vote for a kangaroo. Anything beats the status quo.”

  130. I find the new approach a remarkable indicator.

Tigre, there is really nothing new about it. Liberals (and MSNBC) believe we have a great country that can do great things because of what we have DONE in the past. Because of our track record and the hard working quality of our citizenry. That kind of exceptionalism is fine and dandy. Liberals do NOT believe that America is exceptional simply by virtue of EXISTING. We do not believe that if we sit our our asses, our God given blessings make us better than anyone else. We do NOT believe that if we torture people or occupy countries that pose us no direct threat, then that is justified by our being God’s chosen nation.

MSNBC recognizes the real reason we are exceptional. The right-wing-religious-nutjob sect of the Republican party does not.

  131. Gorilla, that #170 is classic.

When NBC isn’t taking up for a Dimocratic hack, then you know the lie is so transparent, even they won’t attempt to spin it.

You ask me, this Wasserman-Schultz was a godsend to the Republican party. Apparently, they’ve appointed Baghdad Bob’s sister to head up the reelection committee.

I can’t wait to mock Baghdad Schultz for the next 16 months. What a slow, fat rabbit this one is – she even has a look of the deer in headlights.

Turn on the brights and floor the Two Ton.

  132. believe we have a great country that can do great things because of what we have DONE in the past. Because of our track record and the hard working quality of our citizenry.

    WHAT? WTF?

You were the benefactors – you and yours didn’t do any of the hard work. Hell, many of you were the Weather Underground, SDS, community organizers (race baiting by another name), the Manson clan, “loathed” the military.

New Orleans provides the perfect caricature of liberalism. Sponges…filthy, good for nothing sponges. SAVE ME OBAMA! SAVE ME! 😥

  133. Tex,

unlike your consistently “successful” career, mine has had its ebbs and flows. Just when I was ready to give up completely on the pool industry, God had other plans. Two pools in construction and two on the line makes this year so far equal to last at nearly its halfway point. Last year was twice as successful as the prior year. If business keeps doubling we will be back to a normal situation in three years’ time.

And don’t think I still don’t dig ditches. I can still knock out a good looking ditch in record time. I’ve dug several this year. This economy has forced me to be more active in the field, which in turn has had health benefits for this grandpa.

Your time here could better be spent making the attempt to pay back those you’ve stolen from and educating yourself about tax law.

Funny you lecturing me on how I could better spend my time. 😆 I have not stolen anything and I have been educating myself. I have done more research and reading during the past four years than I ever did in school. I have read through the whole Bible 3 times, in addition to intense studies into different books and chapters. I think this time has been productive.

I now better recognize friend from foe, real from fantasy, and truth from bullshit. You would be better off if your mind wasn’t in lockstep with your mentors, but then that would require risk and possibly change. Obviously, you are comfortable in your familiar rut. I trust God will rout you, no matter how resistent you remain.

Oh, and I have a CPA that keeps up on tax code. I have no desire to learn all the idiosyncrasies of the evolving tax laws. Just tell me how to pay the least legally, and I’ll comply.

Know your enemy(ies). More often than not, they will have infiltrated your own camp.

One of the idiosyncrasies of a good military intelligence officer is that he should know as much about the enemy forces as he does his own. Good commanders in my experience have been been emphatic on this point, as I am now. It’s a good concept, not a new one. Sun Tzu spelled it out in his classic The Art of War some 2,500 years ago:

“It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.”

  134. To answer a question (I think) posed by Tigre earlier, Obama does have his work cut out for him regarding reelection. Only a fool would say that Obama’s reelection is a slam dunk … and yes I fully accept egg on my face about my over-reaction to the OBL elimination. I have this bad habit of getting caught up in the moment. Killing Osama is now a distant memory. Who gives a damn about a limp-dicked terrorist getting offed when you can’t meet your next mortgage payment. I’m usually smarter than that. As Pfesser would say, “well f*ck me.”

Here’s Obama’s problem. First, telling folks things could have been a lot worse, even it it is true (and I believe it is true) just doesn’t ease the current pain. Second, no one appears to have a solution. I believe our economic problems are structural, not cyclical. I believe globalization has changed the economy irreparably … well ok maybe too melodramatic … has changed the economy in ways we have yet to adjust for. We don’t know how to participate globally such that OUR middle class benefits from it.

Obama’s only saving grace right now is an incredibly weak and erratic field of potential opponents. If someone with a pulse and some intelligence, like a Christie gets in the race, my good buddy Barack may be a one-termer. 😦

  135. R, you miss my point entirely. It’s that the left is wasting its time and efforts running around attacking Palin — true act of desperation which appeals only to those that like to mock a caricature they created to feed their egos. While I do think you vastly underestimate both Palin and Bachman, its the same whiny sound that the left gave off leading into last November. So, by all means, keep doping it! 😆

Please do read this. You won’t like it, but it’s just the damn truth:

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tobyharnden/100091820/american-way-sarah-palin-email-frenzy-backfires-on-her-media-antagonists/

Dems shouldn’t be laughing at anyone given what’s occurred since 2008. For all you sneering, name-calling, mocking, demonizing, it’s the left that play the fools. You really, really, really don’t get it. And that’s an endless source of amusement for me.

  136. Tigre, I believe Sarah referred to the email being devoured by the lame stream media as equivalent to Geraldo opening up Capone’s vault. For once, I think she’s onto something.

Then again, we mustn’t forget just how much stuff got redacted. Mmmmm. Poolman, any thoughts? 😀

  137. Rutherford,

Until we audit or eliminate the FED, we will continue to have money woes. Rabbit recognizes it. His rants generally hit the banking nail square on the head. Of course it is controlled by Joooos, so attacking the FED could be considered Jooooo bashing and anti-semitic. Better to have your “friends” rob you blind, than your sworn enemies. 🙄

  138. Rutherford,

I had followed all the Alaskan bloggers regarding Palin during the 2008 campaign and really kept up with the latest until about a year ago. I find Palin an interesting character primarily for the reaction she invokes with the public. The fact that she has been able to greatly profit and stay in the news this long, is in itself, quite amazing. She has some influential backing and will likely be in the public eye for many years to come. The neo-Zionists have plans for her. I think there will be a slew of stuff made public if she ever makes a run for the executive office…

As far as the emails revealing any “secrets” that were unknown, I wasn’t expecting any. By all accounts, she started out with noble purpose and was liked by many who were ready to give up on the old corrupt politics that plagued the previous governorship and embrace “change”. The fruit that has been produced since then however has been pretty sordid.

  139. R, #179 is an unmitigated load of shit. Just like Madcow’s lame attempt to distinguish Wiener’s conduct from Clinton’s on a meaningful level. Anyway, since nobody buys it, please keep it up. Anything to help Obama find his way to the door.

What did you think of Burton on Morning Joe? I was holding laughing and holding my sides thinking of your take on OBL assassination and Obama’s “courage” making him unbeatable.

Also, where’s the drumbeat about the dangerous racists on the right that defined 2 years of Obama’s rhetoric by his proxies at MSNBC?

And talk about your being caught up in the moment. That’s what I’m talking about, but for the entire entire democratic party. Out of touch!

  140. Capone’s vault? They never found Capone’s vault, but they did discover Rivera’s depth in sensationally pursuing it. The analogy is apropos. Only here the vault’s existence and location was known, however its contents were a mystery — but only to the spoon-fed left.

  141. “We don’t know how to participate globally such that OUR middle class benefits from it.”

    Oh yes we do.

  142. Two pools in construction and two on the line makes this year so far equal to last at nearly its halfway point. Last year was twice as successful as the prior year. If business keeps doubling we will be back to a normal situation in three years’ time.

Shazam! I hope their Olympic sized swimming pools. But I’m happy for you – on the road to nothingness from nothingness in only three years. Zero’s economic strategy personified.

I have not stolen anything and I have been educating myself. I have done more research and reading during the past four years than I ever did in school. I have read through the whole Bible 3 times, in addition to intense studies into different books and chapters. I think this time has been productive.

How much of that “reading and research” was Troofer, Grand Wizard, LaRouche and Stormfront material Donald Trump?

Al-Poolman, you wouldn’t know friend from foe if it were stenciled on their foreheads reading “Mark of the Beast.”

Now don’t get all pissy when you come in here insulting after a time, then get a boot stuck in the crack of your bibs in return. Like they say in West Texas, “If you can’t run with the big dogs, don’t get off the porch.” Dachshund. 😉

  143. The neo-Zionists have plans for her. I think there will be a slew of stuff made public if she ever makes a run for the executive office…

What is this shit? 😆 😆 Neo-Zionists? 😆 I swear Poolman, I have tried to get this out of my head about you, but every time you appear:

  144. Hey “R”. You know how Obama’s campaign motto in 2008 was “Yes We Can!”.

I’ve been trying to help you guys out and one came to mind for 2012. Tell me what you think:

Obama 2012: “Prosperity is Just Around the Corner!”

    Kind of catchy, huh?

  145. “It’s equivalent to a nation throwing up its hands and saying “what the hell, I’ll vote for a kangaroo. Anything beats the status quo.””

Lord knows we don’t want 4 more years of what that yields.

“We do not believe that if we sit our our asses, our God given blessings make us better than anyone else.”

Yeah, that doesn’t make you better than anyone else. It just makes you think you are entitled to everything you don’t have. Because entitlements are what makes America great.

    Trust me…we get it.

“Obama’s only saving grace right now is an incredibly weak and erratic field of potential opponents.”

Which obviously includes a lack of worthy democrats to primary him against.

“Almost as good as “Morning in America””

No it isn’t. “Morning in America” suggests there is a new day for America to correct its problems (in leadership). “Prosperity is just around the corner” suggests that the good stuff is always down the road, never today.

This is why liberals suck at messaging. They just don’t get it.

  146. I’m watching this platinum blond and platinum horrid Caroline “Blondie” that FOX News drags out as the Left academic voice, listening her carry forth with Graychin’s favorite trope of Obama’s awful first term paralleling Reagan’s first term. Yeah, okay. 🙄

Does anybody here wish to take my bet? That I will bet you right and give you 100-1 odds that Obama won’t win 49 states next year? Any takers? I’ll bet up to $100,000 of my own money if anybody is interested. Poolman?

Look Libs. I know you’re not the brightest feathers in the flock, but you desperately need to understand something. The unemployment rate is important – but more important is the quality of the jobs created.

Now I estimate that at least half these 2MM jobs Zero has “created” were in the fast food industry, repossession, shrimp treadmill testing, call center type shit employment. Of the 54,000 jobs last month, half were McDonalds’ jobs. If you want to burn a burger patty or risk getting your head blown off by El Loco on meth with your new wrecker service job, you might be sitting pretty.at this minute. $8.00 an hour is well, fry flipping good.

But do you masses of dumb asses not recognize now that you can’t continually degrade, humiliate, demonize corporations large and small, accuse them of theft, over-regulate, overtax, pass socialized medicine as burden and get anywhere? That the real problem in this country is outrageous overspending?

    You people are beyond help.

  147. Interesting take on Sarah Palin by Margaret Thatcher’s aide, upon hearing that Klondike Kardashian was interested in meeting the former Prime Minister:

“Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.”

Of course Lady Thatcher has suffered multiple strokes and is not herself these days, but that says it fairly succinctly. I have to say my schadenfreude-o-meter bent the needle ’round the peg when I read that one, by God…

The usual drumbeat may now begin about how the MSM, Fat Grannies refugees, ad infinitum are wasting their time, being disingenuous, etc in their attacks on SP, but for me it is simple: Snowdrift Snooki hasn’t the least interest in serving her country – she has no interest in anything except money – she knows she would be eviscerated in any debate, and so do her handlers – and in her quest for dollars she is sucking the oxygen out of the Republican Party as it tries to field a decent candidate to counter our socialist friend Bo. Why do I wish her such ill? Simple – because she is a spoiler – a fake, a phony – and she is destroying what little is left of the Grand Old Party.

  148. Yeah I think your crazy. You’ve also made some legendary calls. Many of them coming to fruition in front of our very eyes.

However, the violence you speak of has been with us since President Johnson. Lumpen-proletariat bitchez. Steady thuggery that the MSM seems to pick and chose when to make a story. It might peak in a different city for a year, but its a steady line, a constant. If anything, the lower plebeians seem to be more content then ever. Opiates distributed through out the hoods paid for by tax dollars, sweet honey, bridge card and the best American cheese on planet Earth. Shiiieeeeeet. I’ve seen those motherfuckers when they get pissed. This aint shit.

You predicted something else, brother. You called for an angry middle class rising up.

  149. I do agree with your prediction, now.

When some in the idiot middle class realize they’ve bought too many things that they couldn’t afford, most will join the welfare class. They already had the mindset of welfare queens, it just that societal norms pushed them to graduate and get a decent job. They are still feel just as entitled. I know, I was once one of them in some ways. They are ignorant, self-absorbed and soft.

But the younger, conservative/libertarian motherfuckers? Look out. They are armed and pissed. And they have truth. Add to them all the people like Tex that played by the rules and played fair. We will have to regulate motherfuckers and we will do it successfully.

  150. Comrades,

I have great news. Dear Leader is going to train 10,000 engineers. He’s going to forge them out of unemployed flesh, comrades! It will be awesome. Maybe he can forge 50,000 doctors too?

  151. Can you imagine being in Congress, getting publicly caught not being able to control your boner, going to…cough…”rehab”….for said boner……all the while you continue to bill the American people 170 GRAND salary??????????

    Are you fucking kidding me?

No shame. None. These are our leaders representing the Republic. Meanwhile they go on committing economic treason.

    What would Sam Adams do?

  152. Well, I must say Margaret Thatcher is my favorite female pol of all-time, ranking in my Top Ten of all-time favorites. I would bet Ms. Marg is simply detached anymore, as I don’t believe the most honorable Mrs. Thatcher would have said that 20 years ago, and I’m not entirely sure I believe it now.

You weren’t helping read through Sarah’s email to dig up dirt, were you Pfesser?

Sarah Palin is far from my choice as nominee, and in fact, I don’t believe she’ll run. No doubt, she’s at risk of overplaying her hand and in my book did sometime back, but I don’t see the excitement dying down for most folks. Washington press actually chases her around – even moves in beside her. That’s simply cooking white the fire is still hot. How can you knock her for playing the rubes Pfesser? Wouldn’t you? Besides any silliness this Palin following bestows is more than offset by pissing a biased media off and demonstrating their game. Sarah Palin has done more to destroy the reputation and expose the prejudice of the MSM than any politician in my lifetime. Bloody good. It was 40 years overdue.

I am amused that you think Palin would be eviscerated in any debate. By whom? Cain is amusing, but he’s a repetitious soundbite. Romney is a polished and pretty Obama lite. Palin already kicked Joe Biden’s ass in a debate; Zero off the teleprompter is a complete zero. Wait until Zero has to defend a record this time. He’ll sound like Howdy Doody if anybody packs a little sand and backs him into a corner. None of these current Republicans are exactly Daniel Webster either.

There’s no oxygen being sucked out of the party, because we are at least nine months from even picking a candidate. This “debate” is a dog and pony show, filler for the summer, and nothing more. Christy, Rubio or Ryan – they win going away. The rest are a toss up. Rick Perry needs to stay in Texas, where he can continue to bury the rest of the feckless nation. The real game starts late fall.

But Pfesser, I’ve just got to ask in your criticism. Besides pussy, what virtues do you hold besides the accumulation of money and things? Isn’t that Snooki in spades? Only maybe that ghoul prefers a stiff one?

That GOP you court is buried and dead Pfesser. This isn’t 1973 anymore and RINOs are persona non grata – Palin, or no Palin.

  153. And Dog said,

    “Let them be cannabals!”

So they were and they went about until they saw their faces in their feces.

  154. You predicted something else, brother. You called for an angry middle class rising up.

Not exactly. What I predicted was a middle class being pushed down and out, then rebelling when the bennies were stripped. When that happens, I wouldn’t want to be rich, because millions are going to come looking for payment. I’ll bet money many of these Wall Street thieves have dual citizenship if we were to check.

Also, I have been aware for some time that the only thing keeping all of us getting our front door kicked in by thugs is the Rabbit, Gorilla, BIC and Tex types perhaps with the loaded 20 gauge behind the door. The cops aren’t going to protect us.

This isn’t a bug in the Obama game – it’s a feature. Obama is for all intent and purposes the Oval Office Weather Underground I’m completely convinced Zero is trying to recreate America in his image, because nobody could be this incompetent. And the only way to bring America to its knees is to destroy it from the inside first. Obama can do that given another term and do nothing but continue down the present course.

The question of mass chaos is not if, but when.

  155. “Let them be cannabals!”

So they were and they went about until they saw their faces in their feces.

Ummm…I know there’s a point in that “proverb”, and I’m sure it’s not biblical (like a dog to vomit). But cannibals? Faces in feces?

I won’t even venture a guess. Is that code?

Or did you graduate from boones farm to moonshine and this is the breaking in period?

  156. “What I predicted was a middle class being pushed down and out, then rebelling when the bennies were stripped.”-R

That will indeed be something, won’t it?

  157. The followers of Dog, their clenched fists gripping small bags of recent success, cried out in unison, “Holy shit!” And they went about praising Dog for a job well done.

If you’re gonna run with the big dogs, be sure you bring plenty of ziplocks.

  158. Pfesser,

Bet Sarah Palin could have filled the stadium and then some at $44.00 a ticket.

    Obama Fundraiser Underwhelms

Boys, I got a good feeling about this coming election if it were held in the next few months. The mojo of The Won is gone. America has determined Bill Ayer’s little brother is dangerous and a charlatan. They’re out of ammo and the lies aren’t working much anymore. The America Idol for President has worn out his welcome.

I would love to taunt this man’s followers in Jan. 2013 with chants of “HEY HEY HEY, GOODBYE!” We could start cutting some nuts Inauguration Day.

I will say for the record. Though Rutherford immediately grew overconfident, only to fall off the mountain in less than nine months after Obama was elected – he did keep it fairly classy after the election. He was one of the few.

But I know an old punk from Eucha, OK, I’m going to go looking for, with his lame mutt Snot. I can almost taste the bile thinking of those two maggots.

  159. :Poolman,

🙂 You’re so clever – I swoon at your ingenuity. But I was always taught using “Holy” with a curse word is taboo. Don’t the teach at the First Church of the Assembled Sponge?

Your porch will be first on the list and I’m out of bags. 😉

  160. Let my people go, Mo!

Taboo for you – likely true.
Taboo for me – never be.

All things are permissible, though all may not be beneficial.

  161. It would be charitable to say Sarah held her own in the Biden debate. She certainly did not wipe the floor with him. Remember, her bar was incredibly low. Just show up and not say anything too stupid. She more or less pulled that off.

I had to laugh when (I think it was Tim Pawlenty or maybe Mitt) said tonight in the CNN debate that Sarah would have made a better VP than Biden. Just too funny.

But not so funny that I am dismissing her. She may run and she may get the nomination. Of course, it’s now official she’ll have to spar with Michele Bachmann. BTW, Bachmann met the same low bar standard tonight. She showed up at the debate and didn’t say anything too stupid.

P.S. Strange bet Tex. Of course Obama will not win 48 states. 2012 is going to be a squeaker unless WWIII pulls us out of this recession.

  162. And Biden’s bar was high? Admit it R, she won the debate.

Aren’t you just a we bit sexist. Bachmann gets the low bar too- tits are heavy I guess- but no mention of Rick Santorum needing a low bar? If we were to hold out the resumes of the candidates, do you really think Bachmann or Palin would be at the bottom? When we hold ANY of them against Obama in 2008, do you really think that holds true? Of course it doesn’t. Obama’s lack of doing anything kept him from being held accountable in 2008, now he has 4 years of accountability to run against.

You guys on the left have done anything and everything you can to tear her down, why? Because you’re fucking scared shitless of her. She communicates better than Obama. Not because her lexicon is more sophisticated than Obama’s speech writer, or that the inflection of her voice is more appealing. No, it boils down to one thing, one thing that Palin has in spades over Obama:

    Authenticity.

You know that when she is speaking, that it really is her speaking. Obama takes a teleprompter everywhere, and when he’s not reading it off of TOTUS, he’s using note cards. Why? Because it is the only way to keep him from saying what he really thinks. Every time he’s been talking off of TOTUS, he’s opened a window into who he really is: spead the wealth, bitter clingers, etc.

I think you should seriously step back and get some perspective on this. When I asked you to articulate what Obama was going to campaign on, I wanted specifics. How is employment better? How is the economy better? How is governance better? How has he wisely spent our blood, sweat and treasure? Anwser those questions and THEN tell me how wonderful he is.

  163. R, Palin had just been pulled into the race and still dominated Biden in the debates. And you talk of a low bar and laugh at her? You are showing yourself to be quite the chauvenist.

The pathetic joke that answers to the name Biden has no bar and no abilites at all. Funny that you’re friends are weeding through Palin’s emails when they should be afraid of what might find in Biden’s or Pelosi’s. Look what Weiner’s turned up by accident.

  164. Tex –

As you have said, Palin is fleecing the rubes.

I thought the GOP was supposed to be better than that. And that is the point. I don’t know if I am more offended by her dishonesty or America’s credulity. But don’t get me started on the public schools again…

  165. The GOP is not fueling the fleecing. The liberal media and Rutherfords from the left are. Even though I wish PAlin would go away, I hope they continue. She’s exposing the left for what it really is. Surely you see that PF.

  166. Authenticity? Did someone really say the words Sarah Palin and authenticity in the same breath?

If you mean an authentic liar, authentic spoiled brat who spends most of her time trying to get even for past slights or perceived slights, authentic grifter – sure.

Authentic what else? Goober? I’ll drink to that. Sam Adams or Corona, please…

And while we are at it, I’ll tell you honestly what else pisses me off: the way she slaps the MSM around and they keep eating her s**t, hoping for a glimpse of where it came from. Here’s the cartoon that expresses it perfectly:

    http://blasphemes.blogspot.com/2011/06/palins-short-bus-tour.html

  167. Anwser those questions and THEN tell me how wonderful he is.

You’ve conveniently changed the subject. We’re not discussing your paranoid views of the “real” Obama, the secret socialist/Marxist/Communist (which is it today?).

When someone talks like a backwoods rube, they are labeled “authentic”. Palin is as genuine as the average beauty contestant. Her true self, paranoid and slightly unhinged has been well documented. But I will say this … I’ve never had much bad to say about her time as Governor. Everyone has their limit. She reached the pinnacle of her ability as Alaska Governor. When I knew nothing about her back in 2008 and I heard her name floated for VP, I was actually intrigued. Young, beautiful, and a chief executive of a state. Then she opened her mouth as a VP candidate and it all went to hell.

What weighs Bachmann down are not her breasts but her rank stupidity about American history, among other things. Yes … SHE frightens me. Anyone as clearly ignorant as she is has no business with a finger on the nukes. Same for Palin.

But G, you are right … from the little I’ve seen, Rick Perry is an abomination and I’m praying to my non-existent God that the man does not get in the race.

I’m gonna fool all your asses in 2012 and vote for Jon Huntsman. That is unless he picks Bachmann as his running mate. 😆

  168. And as for these constant charges of sexism … pure BS. I question the sanity of any female GOPher since she identifies with a party that would rather see her in the kitchen than the corner office. But putting that glaring voting-against-self-interest factor aside, for some reason GOP women politicians do seem to be a particularly dumb crop lately. Just for kicks I should run down a list of every GOP woman Representative or Senator (are there any more GOP female Senators?), check their public statements and see if I can find one with half a brain. Heck, I’ll be exiled in a hotel for at least four weeks this summer. Maybe I’ll do that to kill time? 😉

  169. Rutherford –
“I’m gonna fool all your asses in 2012 and vote for Jon Huntsman. That is unless he picks Bachmann as his running mate. ”

Here is one rare place where you and I agree. Anybody in ANY position to be president who thinks the world is 6000 years old or doesn’t know the difference between evolution (science) and creation (religion) eliminates that whole ticket in my estimation. This is not fairy-land; these nuclear weapons are very, very real and I need someone at the controls who thinks clearly and logically and is not “cousulting a higher father” to quote GWB, or looking for his answers in a book of Jewish proverbs. A president (or potential president – i.e. VP) must have his/her world view informed by facts and reason in order for me to consider him qualified to control those weapons – not to mention our responsibility to the rest of the world, whom these people scare to death. The last thing I want is a president who thinks the world will end in his/her lifetime and then hand them the nuclear codes to make that happen.

Not gonna fly. Bachmann’s “law” degree is from Anal – er, Oral Roberts “University” – a now defunct “law school.” I’ve seen enough. When I hear her “refudiate – to quote Klondike Kardashian – the basic tenets of that program, loudly and publicly, then we can talk. Until then she can go pound sand.

  170. OH CRAP … PF I didn’t know she got her degree from Oral Roberts U. Damn … there goes the one shred of credibility she actually had with me.

I curse Chris Matthews for putting that dimwit on the national scene! 👿

  171. You’ve conveniently changed the subject. We’re not discussing your paranoid views of the “real” Obama, the secret socialist/Marxist/Communist (which is it today?).” – R

I didn’t ask for a paranoid assessment. I asked you to lay out the accomplishments of this administration against things that are of particular concern to voters today: jobs, economy, housing, etc. You are the one changing the subject because you know you can’t defend him on or with facts.

  172. Obama’s plan for the future…

    The Senior Program

Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the economy, Congress has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment.

This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to Congress to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).
Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Congress.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Congress has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give our citizens.

Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your Congressman, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

    Sincerely,
The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.)

PS – – Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

  173. I’m not here to defend S.P., as I could care less and would prefer she go away for a time.

But you PDS loons just went thru 24,000 emails Pfesser that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt Palin is indeed authentic. Her staff liked her. I’m so glad the MSM went thru that exercise – proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the MSM a bunch of fools. Palin plays all of you like fiddles. Who does that make the dummy again? The media set out to trash Palin. Everyday that goes by, the dinosaur media look more like anachronistic, goosestepping propagandists always one step behind – Hollywood paparazzi quality – and that’s the NYT, WaPO, HuffPO. The rest are nothing else but ignorant poseurs and toadies.

Look, here is the indisputable fact. Pfesser, you voted for the sorriest President in the history of the United States. Spin that all you want, but you are one of the 53% of the American public that demonstrated incredibly poor judgment by electing a Marxist imbecile, a Soros shill and racist, an empty suit who has nominated more ignorant inbred like that cracker hatin Eric Holder – what a complete pile. Obama is hostile to business and free enterprise, a product of the SDS generation, completely ineffective and absolutely dangerous. It’s the same quality crew that screwed up the public school system you and I discussed at length. Many of Zero’s comrades in his regime are in large part responsible for the economic collapse (Raines, Frank, Dodd).

    ——-

The bottom line is that this sorry bastard sitting in the Whitehouse at this minute hates America (for reasons beautifully illustrated by Dinesh D’Souza). Obama’s sperm donating daddy hated America, hated the Brits, hated whitey – considered them all colonialists. He was an atheist, full of himself. Good riddance. Daddy Obama was cut from the same cloth as Rev. Jeremiah – a race pimp, Jew hating, blowhard and hate monger – who abandoned every one of his biological children. Zero’s daffy mom was not fit to be a mother, truth be known abandoned baby Barry – ended up a professed American hating commie and whore. Another good riddance.

I can understand why Zero is so screwed up. He’s a product of the biggest losers on earth, with an unbalanced granny, who because of her daughter’s proclivity for worthless black sperm donors, probably hated black men in return. Granny took pity and raised little Barry, stroked that ego enough into believing little Barry “special”, when in actuality, he was a product of losers. That formed this malignant narcissist behavior, explaining why Obama actually believes he is divine.

Being Zero had a gift of gab as young man, Soros and his minions somewhere identified and groomed him for 20 years, knowing they could manipulate him for the cause. Two autobiographies before anybody knew of him? Community activist at 24, no record but what we are told, with a $100MM to pass around to the masses? Sound a little out of the ordinary? Not even a record of a girlfriend or friends? Zero has obviously received some extraordinary assistance. But who?

Serendipity of events put the shyster in the Whitehouse. Fate, luck of the draw, call it what you will.

And now Obama has been an epic fail. Surprise, surprise. Ror the first time in Barry’s life, he is learning the hard lesson. He is nothing special, thin skinned and vindictive, and a useful idiot for some really evil men who are much smarter than he is. He’s not handling the office well, to say the least.

Obama is just a tool in a much bigger game. I would not be shocked to see Obama himself thrown under the bus if he loses in 2012. I imagine at this minute, the man is scared shitless. He ought to be. He’s tied at the hip to some ruthless players.

  174. I expect President Obama will run on the same platform he ran before. Shovel-ready promises. Evidently part of his charm is to now laugh about his broken promises.

  175. I wish SP would go away too. She was a novelty act, as was the President it appears to me. It’s a sad state of affairs, really.

  176. Rutherford,
A very good article regarding the current State of the Union! Back during the Freud/Jung/Dr. Spock era, children were children and adults were adults. Fast forward to the “Find your Inner Child” era, we had mooners, then streakers, now twitterdicks.
High school cheerleaders and beauty queens are Margaret Thatcher wannabees.

Adults are behaving like children and children are having to become adults. This next election should be one for the comic books. We can no longer hang our hat on what has been done in the past because those hard working adults no longer exist.

Name me just one someone who is exceptional in American politics today.

  177. I found this quote today from Harriet Beecher Stowe and I quite liked it:

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”

    More Hannibal Lecter.

Tex, I never did ask you … when you were in med school what was your aspiration? Cardiologist? Podiatrist? Psychiatrist? I’m assuming from your psychological “profiles” of various people (including some commenters here) that it was the last one. 🙂

  179. “Of course Obama will not win 48 states.”

I think the real question is, will he still visit all 57 of them?

“And as for these constant charges of sexism … pure BS. I question the sanity of any female GOPher since she identifies with a party that would rather see her in the kitchen than the corner office.”

No it isn’t pure BS. You are the one who would rather see GOP women in the kitchen, and that is proven by your unyielding attacks on them.

Rutherford wants his women to think like he does. Any deviation from that is unacceptable and worthy of ridicule.

  180. High school cheerleaders and beauty queens are Margaret Thatcher wannabees.

Raji, beautifully put and a comment overall worthy of its own post.

We are indeed witnessing an era of children running the show. I think Obama tries to be the adult in the room but even he falls short since ego cannot compensate for lack of experience and poor advisers.

Unlike most of the nimrods here who insist on demonizing the man, I think Obama is a good man and a smart man. But being President in this day and age is a tall order that 98% of the populace cannot handle. I think he’s in too deep and what despairs me even more is I’m not sure the man exists in this country who can steer us out of this mess. The Clinton/Bush years were reckless … financial de-regulation, lax intelligence and security and unnecessary expensive wars. Together, I fear Clinton and Bush jointly screwed the pooch.

    P.S. Gorilla 236 was classic. 🙂

  181. Rutherford wants his women everyone to think like he does. Any deviation from that is unacceptable and worthy of ridicule.

Huck, I fixed it for you. Damaging nonetheless but far more accurate. 😉

  182. Challenge gentlemen and ladies. Since I stand accused of sexism, I hereby challenge you to provide me with one name of a truly intelligent articulate female Republican Congresswoman or Senator. And you must be honest. We all know Bachmann is a dimwit and a borderline nutjob.

Here’s your standard … can this woman hold her own in a conversation with the late William F. Buckley Jr.? You name me one person who meets that standard and I will research her, and write a post about her praising her greatness.

    😀

  183. No it isn’t.

You don’t ridicule the men here the way you do Palin and Bachmann.

Is it because we are here to defend ourselves?

  184. “Here’s your standard”

    2 questions.

First, why do you get to set the standard of what a GOP women should be?

Second, are teleprompters allowed in that conversation? If not, then you can’t expect GOP women to do what Obama can’t do, either.

  185. Rutherford, how many democrat women in congress do you think could meet that challenge?

Feel free to list them by name so we can all get a laugh.

  186. Huck, you’re now comparing yourself to Palin and Bachmann? Unfortunately, very few women post here, lib or conservative. I’ve done battle with nutty female GOPhers over at BiW’s place and there was one on Alfie’s blog who really knocked me for a loop with her loopiness. If they come here, I’ll be glad to battle them. As for the men here, I’ve told Tex a thousand times he is way around the bend.

Muffy’s disappointment with Obama seems to be pulling her in a rightward direction. Alarming!!!! Fortunately, Muffy doesn’t call the man a Marxist racist so I don’t have too much ammo to call her a loon. 🙂

  187. Huck, part of 255 and 256 fall in the “everything you say to me bounces off me and sticks to you” category. I’ve laid down the gauntlet for someone to nominate an intelligent articulate GOP female rep/senator. The answer isn’t “you go first with a Dem.”

As for the first part of 255, everyone on this blog makes their comments based on what standards they set. Some of you have a standard for what a black President or Attorney General should behave like. Where do you get that right? ‘Cos you have the right to an opinion, that’s why … so do I.

  188. “53% of the American public that demonstrated incredibly poor judgment by electing a Marxist imbecile, ”

Couple of things, even if we stipulate ANY of that as true:

Firstly, it is bogus to say, “See it turned out badly, so you are stupid for making that decision.” That is not how decisions are made – having a knowledge of the future. Of course those who disagree with your decision will try to second guess you if it turns out badly, but when you make a decision you look at things and make your choice – you don’t have the luxury of knowing how it will turn out. You may be wrong, but then the next time YOU may be right and the other fellow wrong.

Secondly, having said that, I dispute that it was the wrong decision. Let’s talk about THEN, not now. Here I am, looking at voting for John McCain, although he is clearly a poor candidate, but I think better than Bo. Suddenly he chooses Sarah Palin for VP. Unlike to most, Snowdrift Snooki is not a stranger to me; my friends in Anchorage have kept me posted about her for a long time. Now I am thinking, what are McCain’s – a multicancer survivor – chances of finishing out one or possibly two terms? Not very good. At least not good enough to risk. George Will stated it succinctly:

“The threshold question, not usually asked, but it’s in everyone’s mind in a presidential election. ‘Should we give this person nuclear weapons?’ And the answer [in Palin’s case], answers itself.”

Now I’m not only worried about Klondike Kardashian, I’m worrying that perhaps McCain has lost it too. Clearly there has been NO effort in vetting Sarah Palin or they would never have chosen her. That very choice itself now calls McCain’s judgement into question.

So, given the circumstances, I don’t even need to explain my vote; clearly I and 53% (by your numbers) of Americans made the right decision. It was the lesser of two evils; if we can’t survive Bo, I give us NO chance of surviving Snooki.

  189. “Do I sense sarcasm here?” – R

😦 No, not a bit. I don’t always (hell, I rarely) fully understand why people say what they say or believe as they do. I have an abiding need to understand.

And to my mind, Rutherford, you have a rare talent of writing pretty much exactly what you mean. Maybe not 100% of the time, but that’s impossible. In thinking about my part in why you’re able to clear up what is cloudy where others have failed, I’m guessing it’s a matter of trust. I listen to people I trust, and I tend to tune the rest out. Then I wonder why I don’t understand what they’re talking about haha.

Anyway, I never did get why people are mystified by the very existence of female Republicans, homosexual Republicans, Latino Republicans, Killer Republicans (LOL, Cher). I know some of all of the above, and I’ve always found it equally mystifying that some folks can’t even comprehend the very existence of such other folks.

So given that new-to-me information, I intend to ponder what can be known about someone else’s self- interests over lunch.

  190. for reasons beautifully illustrated by Dinesh D’Souza

Tex I love you in a manly sort of way but you can be such an ass.

I’ve often noted that when well documented and clear as day proof is provided, with intellect and history involved in the proof, you Rutherford are often without defense and at your most vulnerable – and predictably revert back “you can be such an ass Tex.” 🙂 Dinesh nailed this sorry excuse to a wall. What’s wrong with telling the truth with a little analysis? Hmmm?

Why are you denying the obvious “R”? Obama is a modern day descendant of Students for a Democratic Society. Look at the sordid family mess Obama was raised – the scum he ran with – part Charles Manson, part Ma and Pa Kettle environment. No wonder poor, little Barry is twisted and fatuous.

It’s a wonder Zero didn’t turn out to be the Green River Killer.

If he didn’t have women’s shoulder and the Weiner neck, and wasn’t forced to sit at the end of the bench in Jr. High school basketball when we all lost track of him, and he had a few manly qualities, who knows? We’re not even sure Zero likes women. Sounds like Barry rode more than pine to me growing up. 😈

  191. I didn’t ask you to go first. I asked you if you could go at all.

    Which you obviously can’t.

Still waiting on if teleprompters are allowed.

“Huck, you’re now comparing yourself to Palin and Bachmann?”

No. You made that connection with #252.

“Some of you have a standard for what a black President or Attorney General should behave like.”

Nice try, but you are the only one around here making politics about race.

  192. “Muffy’s disappointment with Obama seems to be pulling her in a rightward direction. Alarming!!!! – Rutherford

Haha alarming to the tune of FOUR exclamation points even.

I can’t help it! I need to be on good terms with myself and I’ll do whatever it takes!

  193. “George Will stated it succinctly:

“The threshold question, not usually asked, but it’s in everyone’s mind in a presidential election. ‘Should we give this person nuclear weapons?’ And the answer [in Palin’s case], answers itself.””

Not to defend SP, but it seems that George Will and PFesser need to be reminded that the Vice President is not who has control over nuclear weapons. Questioning McCain’s health was a red herring all along. If potential health risks were really influencing people’s votes then why were they not concerned about the Sickle Cell or Biden’s aneurysms? Did you all really want a Pelosi administration?

  194. Firstly, it is bogus to say, “See it turned out badly, so you are stupid for making that decision.” That is not how decisions are made – having a knowledge of the future.

How many damn signs did an educated man like you need Pfesser before you understood Obama a rotten egg and flimflam? Who makes statements about calming the seas and is sane? My Gawd, that video says it all. How could you possibly be so naive?

How many of those promises did you think a man that attended a black racist church with a black racist preacher for 20 years, and no pertinent record of success, was going to be able keep Doctor? With what? How many of those claims in front of Styrofoam Green columns did you believe? How could it be more obvious?

Palin couldn’t be any worse than Obama if that were her goal.

And you want to mock everyone that believes in a God with that record of poor judgment Pfesser? At the very least, your Zero vote demonstrated your politic instincts not worth a shit.

Doctor, before you go further with your pompous irreligious insults? 85% of the people in this country believe in a GOD, and many of those people are far smarter than you’ll ever be on your best day. You still haven’t figured that much out yet.

    ———-

And speaking of Rutherford’s ability to discern truth and his bravos?

One on par with Obama’s record; from Whigs to Weiner right here on this blog. Rutherford’s accuracy in the last election was on par with Nanzi Pelosi’s predictions. 😆

I love old “R” ‘in a manly sort of way’, but I’ll short everything he bets on and come out a billionaire. That’s a new rule of thumb some of you would be wise to follow.

  195. If Will said that about a Palin/? ticket then why bring it up in a discussion on the McCain/Palin ticket?

It’s just more bullshit arguments against this woman who is supposedly so stupid. If she is really that dumb, then you folks shouldn’t need to resort to these ridiculous tactics in order to prove it.

  196. Muffy, it looks like R is calling you stupid. Its the purpose behind his challenge. Obviously you can’t recognize your own self-interest because (1) your a woman, and (2) you’re conservative. Thankfully, as a democrat R occupies special position: as male he gets to tell you what constitutes your own self-interest and what constitutes proper feminism. It’s all for your own good Sweetie. Scurry along now. . .

    See anything circular here?

  197. Huck, you’re calling Obama’s chance of having sickle cell anemia “critical thinking”? You’re having an off day my friend. McCain’s health record was not stellar and certainly far below that of his opponent Obama. You’re stretching.

  198. Tex, if people mistakenly swooned for Obama’s oratory, you have no one to blame but his predecessor. After 8 years of Bush, folks forgot that a President could inspire with the spoken word.

  199. Didn’t know about Biden’s aneurysms, but that’s not the argument. Here’s how they are different:

    1) If McCain goes down, Palin’s president AND THAT CANNOT HAPPEN.
    2) It is likely that McCain would go down.

    1) If Biden goes down nothing happens. Bo is still president.
    2) If Bo goes down, Biden is president. The likelihood that BOTH go down is negligible, and Biden is not a word-salad spouting nutcase, although I agree he is not the sharpest tool in the chest.

Re: religion and politics. We’ve covered this ground before, Tex. Be as religious as you want, but don’t be crazy and DO leave it at the door when you serve the public. Indications are that Palin’s entire life is informed by and revolves around her religion – not logic and rationality. She cannot be president. THAT CANNOT HAPPEN. EVER. GWB is a pretty good example of someone who “talked to a higher father” before making decisions, instead of listening to his advisers, some of whom – unlike he – had Actually Been In War. (Powell for one.) Sorry, but this one is just too easy.

  200. Thankfully, as a democrat R occupies special position: as male he gets to tell you what constitutes your own self-interest and what constitutes proper feminism. It’s all for your own good Sweetie. Scurry along now.

    ** GUFFAW **

Isn’t that the truth – I think that is what drives part of the irrational beta male hatred toward Palin. Sarah just refuses to jump into the mold. And with the Rutherford, Pfesser types, she doesn’t hold the appropriate pedigree, distinguishing her inferior and subhuman.

With the silver back females from the left, how dare Palin have the gall to give birth to a Down’s child. Doesn’t Palin know how much more humane it would have been to scrape Trig from the uterine wall, or jab scissors through his skull to put poor Trig out of his misery? i mean this crazed woman was on a plane when her water broke! OMG!

  201. PF, so did Lincoln:

That I am not a member of any Christian Church, is true; but I have never denied the truth of the Scriptures; and I have never spoken with intentional disrespect of religion in general, or any denomination of Christians in particular.
–July 31, 1846 Handbill Replying to Charges of Infidelity
I do not think I could myself, be brought to support a man for office, whom I knew to be an open enemy of, and scoffer at, religion.
–July 31, 1846 Handbill Replying to Charges of Infidelity

In their enlightened belief, nothing stamped with the Divine image and likeness was sent into the world to be trodden on, and degraded, and imbruted by its fellows.
–August 17, 1858 Speech at Lewistown, Illinois

To His care commending you, as I hope in your prayers you will commend me, I bid you an affectionate farewell.
    –February 11, 1861 Farewell Address

Intelligence, patriotism, Christianity, and a firm reliance on Him, who has never yet forsaken this favored land, are still competent to adjust, in the best way, all our present difficulty.
–March 4, 1861 First Inaugural Address

The will of God prevails. In great contests each party claims to act in accordance with the will of God. Both may be, and one must be, wrong.
–September 1862 Meditation on the Divine Will

If I had had my way, this war would never have been commenced; If I had been allowed my way this war would have ended before this, but we find it still continues; and we must believe that He permits it for some wise purpose of his own, mysterious and unknown to us; and though with our limited understandings we may not be able to comprehend it, yet we cannot but believe, that he who made the world still governs it.
–October 26, 1862 Reply to Eliza Gurney

Nevertheless, amid the greatest difficulties of my Administration, when I could not see any other resort, I would place my whole reliance on God, knowing that all would go well, and that He would decide for the right.
–October 24, 1863 Remarks to the Baltimore Presbyterian Synod

On principle I dislike an oath which requires a man to swear he has not done wrong. It rejects the Christian principle of forgiveness on terms of repentance. I think it is enough if the man does no wrong hereafter.
–February 5, 1864 Memorandum to Secretary Stanton

If God now wills the removal of a great wrong, and wills also that we of the North as well as you of the South, shall pay fairly for our complicity in that wrong, impartial history will find therein new cause to attest and revere the justice and goodness of God.
–April 4, 1864 Letter to Albert Hodges

To read in the Bible, as the word of God himself, that “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread,” and to preach therefrom that, “In the sweat of other mans faces shalt thou eat bread,” to my mind can scarcely be reconciled with honest sincerity.
–May 30, 1864 Letter to George Ide and Others

I am very glad indeed to see you to-night, and yet I will not say I thank you for this call, but I do most sincerely thank Almighty God for the occasion on which you have called.
    –July 7, 1864 Response to a Serenade

Enough is known of Army operations within the last five days to claim our especial gratitude to God; while what remains undone demands our most sincere prayers to, and reliance upon, Him, without whom, all human effort is vain.
–May 10, 1864 Telegram Press Release

We hoped for a happy termination of this terrible war long before this; but God knows best, and has ruled otherwise. We shall yet acknowledge His wisdom and our own error therein.
–September 4, 1864 Letter to Eliza Gurney

I am much indebted to the good Christian people of the country for their constant prayers and consolations; and to no one of them, more than to yourself.
–September 4, 1864 Letter to Eliza Gurney

All the good the Saviour gave to the world was communicated through this book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things most desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are to be found portrayed in it.
–September 7, 1864 Reply to Loyal Colored People of Baltimore upon Presentation of a Bible

Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God’s assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men’s faces; but let us judge not that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully.
    –March 4, 1865 Inaugural Address

Men are not flattered by being shown that there has been a difference of purpose between the Almighty and them. To deny it, however, in this case, is to deny that there is a God governing the world.
–March 15, 1865 Letter to Thurlow Weed

  202. Don’t forget Tex, as a conservative former Governor, VP candidate, and potential presidential candidate SP’s rose to prominence on her platform of “women in the kitchen rather than the corner office.”

Yeah. And R can’t figure out where one would get off using the term sexism to describe his commentary. 🙄

  203. Lincoln is a distraction; this is not 1863 and there is a lot more known about how the world works – and as I have said, believe what you want – you too, Mr. Lincoln.

But Lincoln was first and foremost a thinking man; he used the wisdom in the bible to help him to make just and proper decisions. Notice that nowhere in all those quotes did he mention forcing OTHERS into his mold of Proper Christianity.

re: dislike of Palin because of her lacking a pedigree. Nonsense. I dislike her because she lacks morals, compassion for others and a brain. I highly recommend reading Frank Bailey’s book if you want a true picture of the immoral, clutching liar that is Sarah Palin; I have read it twice.

It takes a certain amount of thinking ability, coupled with a natural curiosity in order to gain the knowledge to be ready to lead – Bo a good example. But at least he is Capable of learning. Palin OTOH has exhibited a lifetime of non-curiosity, non-learning, and a disdain for it and those who *have* learned a thing or two. At her age, you either are ready or you are not. She is not.

re: Palin’s compassion for Trig. I have made a little study of the farcial “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” back to Alaska to “give birth” and I have concluded that either: 1) Trig is not her baby or 2) he was not born when she said. The liklihood that story went as she said is vanishingly small. I just want to know WHY she lied about it – and I WILL find out.

  204. Sorry, but this one is just too easy.

So easy, you avoided the premise of the question. You’re too busy with self congratulations Pfesser. I don’t think you’re that good, or that clever. I must have missed the genius in that last comment.

    ——–

But before I address you being a fascist and potential jackboot, let me point out a few holes.

Powell? The ultimate hack politician. What combat? What intellect? Frickin Powell is a mirage and affirmative action candidate, who had neither the credentials or the intelligence to to make the positions he made. Looking to promote a black general – then the Peter Principle of politics took over. No real general wants to polish a chair with his ass in Washington, taking orders from brain dead elected citizen politicians… Powell is a demagogue, and a lousy one at that. That’s why he never ran – he knew he wasn’t smart enough to hold up to scrutiny when people started turning the screws, didn’t matter the party he chose.

Think I’m blowing smok? Who would you choose in a debate Pfesser? Powell or Schwarzkopf? I can see how you voted Obama now. I’m no longer confused.

Tough shit Rutherford – somebody needed to say it. Can we drop this complete bullshit with Powell as giant? I haven’t seen anybody this overrated since MaDonna. Tell me exactly what has Powell been right about besides we own a war we start? It takes a general to tell us that? Mind numbing. Powell has not accomplished a damn thing of significance since Desert Storm (and I give the people in the field a hell of a lot more credit in that than I do some chair polisher in Washington). He was Obama’s ball washer during the last election. He’s a phony and self-absorbed demagogue with a nice life story. McCain. Hoorah.

    ———

Now, on to our brilliant porn star for doctor:

There are many, many millions of people in America who practice their religion openly Pfesser, have no problem with voicing it in the public square, believe God created the universe, and they are far smarter than you are. You are in the minority sport.

You don’t tell us how to live, what to do, how to think, or determine what we can and can’t say in the public square. Damn your secular courts (that swear on a Bible), damn your godless politicians (who open Congress with a prayer), and fuck your irreligious nature Pfesser (in a country predominately Christian). You better hope we ‘inferior Christians’ are listening to “a higher power.” Cause if my “higher power” fails me, I would like to see a bunch of us team up for a little Crusade jihadi stake burning on your ass. How’s that work for you?

We’ll send over Jerry Falwell’s masses to carry you off screaming Allahu Akbar? The ultimate justice to your miserable ending porn star

And Rutherford can shudder about a real theocracy as we march up to CT, or swing over to Naperville\ to look for him.

I guess it will prove you boys were right after all, hey? 😉

  205. “this is not 1863 and there is a lot more known about how the world works.

Your diatribe is proof that’s not true.

PF, I am not a religious man nor a fan of Palin. But your and R’s twisted take on her is good enough reason to reconsider.

  206. how dare Palin have the gall to give birth to a Down’s child.

Oh puhleeeze leave that crap at the door. I’m the last one to advocate aborting Down’s babies nor do I make the parents of Downs babies automatic heroes. No kid is perfect. You work with what you got and you don’t get any awards for it.

I mean this crazed woman was on a plane when her water broke! OMG!

No, this lying woman was on a plane soon after her daughter Willow’s water broke. Yes I said it … sue me. It is to me the most logical explanation. Bristol was already knocked up with Track or Trick or Truck or whatever weird-ass name they gave him. And a girl Bristol’s age getting preggers can be tolerated. But when the younger teenage daughter gets knocked up … THAT needs a cover-up and damn fast too!

Pfesser, you probably think I’ve taken your “wild ride” argument and blown it out the window but I swear if I were a betting man I’d place my bets on Trig belonging to Willow.

Oh … and guess what? It shouldn’t be any of our business but that doesn’t mean Palin has to concoct the most preposterous lie about it. No matter how you slice it, either Trig is not hers OR she is THE MOST IRRESPONSIBLE expectant mother on the planet, taking a long-ass plane ride after her water broke.

  207. Frank Bailey? The disgruntled Frank Bailey? Scott McClellan Jr.? Best case, Frank Bailey is complicit in fraud. So what? That says more about him than it does about her. Sean Hannity made Frank Bailey look like a moron.

You go looking for supporting documentation. Any rube can do that Pfesser.

Come on. You just dragged out 24,000 emails where there is no bias – just a record. You found nothing to support your bullshit accusations. Nothing.

  208. Muffy, you’re not the only one I’m sure. In the past I’ve sent a few readers running for the exits with my suppositions about Sarah Palin.

Let’s just say …. again …. if you fly from TX to Alaska after your water breaks something is VERY wrong with your head.

Who knows … maybe she’s like Jim Henson who died rather than take his doctor’s advice? We have evidence she doesn’t believe in science so maybe she doesn’t put any stock in the risks of flying with a baby about to pop. 😐

  209. Rutherford has morphed in Poolman!!!! 😆 PDS conspiracy is now terminal. Is this what it comes to in your defense of Zero? Here, chew on this El Bongo success Sherlock.

US Housing Crisis Is Now Worse Than Great Depression

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/43395857

You guys are smokin’! Congratulations on your rousing successes the last 30 months! Damn Rutherford, I didn’t think you had it in you. You’ve done hit rock bottom and sunk to Fat Granny levels of hysteria. That last post was so inane, I laughed all the way through it. I thought you were going to sign it Aunt Jean.

But I still love you. 😳

  210. So PDS is still in full-swing here with the proprietor, and nothing else much has changed.

Sorry I haven’t been around. We had a death in our internet family that was not unexpected, but was still a quantum assload of suck, as she was one of my first friends at the Hostages, and was my partner in crime in forming an affiliated-but-not site.

  211. Umm…Pfesser. You know that comment about…well you know. Margie Thatcher yesterday calling Sarah Palin nuts? Unworthy? A dimwit and fraud?

I assume you will be retracting now? Maybe admitting you copped a case of the dumb ass yesterday? Might be a little gullible?

I think you’ve been had. Perhaps a little too willing to adopt the Palin is ignorant strategy like Big “R”? 😉 Maybe you need to lay off Chatty Kitchen quotes for a while.

“Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.”

    Uh OH!

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100092054/margaret-thatcher-did-not-%E2%80%98snub%E2%80%99-sarah-palin-the-truth-about-the-iron-lady-and-the-former-governor-of-alaska/

Makes me wonder concerning the legitimacy of a lot of these “quotes” you like to drop here. Too much Atlantic Journal, Andy Sullivan, NYT, Fat Grannies?

  212. Willow? Even I didn’t go there. But I agree the whole scenerio tilts toward bizarre. That genuine birth certificate would be worth a pretty penny, I’m sure.

Now that she has sponsors and a platform, they’re gonna ride it out and get the most they can from it. She’ll be around to contend with for some time to come.

  213. Willow? Even I didn’t go there.

😆 😆 😆 Classic Poolman. Rutherford finally went full monty today and went off the deep end, forgetting he didn’t know how to swim.

He’s floating around the fishbowl someplace ’bout now.

  214. Our friend Rutherford finally blew his Palin gasket today and is now accusing “Willow”, Palin’s second daughter of being Trig’s mother.

    I saw that.

I’m sure it never even occurred to him that although Mommy is a public figure, Daughter Number Two is not, and that by publishing that, he just might have committed libel/defamation.

But of course, since he’s smart like Spock, just like the rest of the Left, and not like a knuckledragging conservative, he couldn’t have possibly done something that would be legally actionable.

  215. I vote the whole family has been given celebrity status. Kind of like the Osmonds or the Osbournes. Yeah, a combination of those…

  216. Maybe yes, maybe no. But the key to the analysis is whether someone has sought to make themselves a public figure or injected themselves into a public controversy.

Mommy might have let her appear on the TV show as part of the overall story, but as a minor with Mommy making that decision, that still wouldn’t be considered her own decision, as minors wouldn’t ordinarily have the capacity to consent to such a thing.

However, you conclusion doesn’t surprise me. Perhaps you’d like to borrow Andy Sullivan’s speculum (if you can get him to stop spelunking in Sarah’s uterus long enough to let you do so) and get Willow into the stirrups to make your own examination?

  217. No actually Tex I’m drowning in one of Poolman’s aquatic recreation devices. You know you’ve gone too far out on the conspiracy ledge when even Poolman doesn’t have your back. 😦

  218. BiW give me some free legal advice. Since when is conjecture libel? I stated nothing as fact. Call it the ravings of a madman. Diminished capacity. 😉

  219. No, this lying woman was on a plane soon after her daughter Willow’s water broke. Yes I said it … sue me.

    It doesn’t sound like conjecture.

It sounds like publishing an untruth with malicious intent in a public forum about someone who is not a public figure.

Don’t worry. I’m confident that they have other things to do than sue a liberal gadfly for running his fingers in third when his brain was in neutral, especially when there would be no payoff in it, but this is different than talking about Weiner and his little Tony. In a defamation suit, the onus would be on you to prove what you assert as fact is true, and she wouldn’t have to prove that it wasn’t or subject herself to discovery to prove that it wasn’t.

You might have a think about that before you say something similar about someone’s child again. Not all families are so excoriated by so many that such a publication would merely be a voice in a loud chorus.

And I’m pretty sure that her Dad could give you something to think about if the two of you met in a dark alley some day. I’d keep that in the back of my head too, if I were you.

  220. You know, the one thing that bugs me about invalids is that some go through life without ever having to apply for a Man Card.

There is no code with many gimps. So, of course R spouts shit about a little toddler to satisfy his hate. He’s never been taught the things real men don’t spout off about without knowing shit.

Rutherford, since picking on kids is now your new low, surpassing even blaming Palin for the Arizona shootings, I, too, thought about breaking man code.

i’ll just tease it instead, gimp.

I had some…uh…physical questions that made me wonder about a gargoyle like yourself. Do you mind if I ask them? Can we make them part of the discussion? Make it part of the blog? Part of the political discourse? After all, I find it hard to believe you are a viable enough of a specimen to procreate. So tell us, how does a little nibbler like you do it? Turkey Baster? Did you go to a gargoyle fetish dating web site in the first place?

    Hope it feels good, bitch.

  221. “It is likely that McCain would go down.”

Please elaborate, Dr. PFesser. On what are you basing this utter bullshit?

I love it. Rutherford jumps back onto Andrew Sullivan’s birther bandwagon, and I’m the one stretching?

“Challenge gentlemen and ladies.

You name me one person who meets that standard and I will research her, and write a post about her praising her greatness.”

Kay Bailey Hutchison. Read her bio sheet and then tell me she does not meet the criteria you set. What can you find wrong with her? Is she crazy? Stupid? Maybe you have some questions regarding her vagina?

After reading a little about her, she seems quite impressive, wouldn’t you agree? I look forward to reading your article “praising her greatness.”

Now I believe it is your turn. Who you got?

  222. Here’s your standard … can this woman hold her own in a conversation with the late William F. Buckley Jr.? You name me one person who meets that standard and I will research her, and write a post about her praising her greatness.”

    Phyllis Schlafly

  223. “Challenge gentlemen and ladies. Since I stand accused of sexism, I hereby challenge you to provide me with one name of a truly intelligent articulate female Republican Congresswoman or Senator.

How about more powerful positions too? Like Governor too?

Susana Martinez of New Mexico, Nikki Haley of South Carolina, Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Kristi Noem, South Dakota, Kay Granger, Texas for starters…

Now, give us your list of those genius Dimocratic women? How about Maxine Waters, Shelia Jackson Lee, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Linda Sanchez, Patty Murray for starters? There’s a full house of dumb ……

  224. Well speaking of Gollum, the dude who first called me that shows up to voice his outrage.

Rabbit, do you have a chip in your head that goes off whenever I speculate about Palin’s pregnancy? Cos you haven’t been around in a couple of days and when I “go there” suddenly you appear. Spooky.

One reason I would never run for office is I wouldn’t want to contend with the tasteless question you posed. But I’ll tell you this much. If I did run for office I’d either answer “none of your business” or I’d provide a tasteful honest answer to your tasteless question. I wouldn’t concoct a total BS lie about it.

For those of you new to the blog, whenever Rabbit gets angry with me he goes after my disability. He doesn’t understand that it no longer has the shock value it once did.

BTW Rabbit just how many “invalids” do you know? My guess is I know more roofers than you know invalids.

  225. I’ve actually cited Kay Bailey Hutchison in the past as a better choice for McCain’s running mate. So good choice Huck.

But Tex … Jan Brewer? I thought we were gonna be honest? Brewer is an embarassment who bought her state a truckload of ridicule and charges of racism.

  226. Welcome to the double “F” club “R” – now you can join the rest of us old farts. 51 comes up in a couple of weeks. Gulp.

Five of my last seven I’ve spent myself while the family jogged around the world, and last year, my pup got killed on my 50th. What a great birthday present that was! Hard to believe my best little pal has been gone almost a year.

My new pup chewed about a 4″ hold in the driver seat while I was in WalMart over the weekend and now my ass is parked on springs – I’m not kidding – after a couple of weeks ago ripping the wiring harness off the jetski as I noted here. Found a few teeth marks in the door today too. I swear, my house has become a dog house.

Little bastard. 👿 If he weren’t so damn cute, I’d boot his ass to the curb.

  227. Brewer is an embarassment who bought her state a truckload of ridicule and charges of racism.

I knew you were going to say that! You’re so predictable Rutherford – like an old dog.

Buddy, Jan Brewer has schooled the ignorant Obama and been a thorn in his stupid ass for two years now. She’s a delight, a bulldog and perhaps the most popular governor in the nation. And that just chews on your ass – telling me Jan is even better than advertised. 🙂

  228. No BiW … just haven’t read your link yet. I have this vague memory of Schlafly being the ultimate anti-feminist. More research is needed but won’t be tonight. Might make for some good Wednesday reading.

Hell, I haven’t written a new post in a week or so but I’m too bushed tonight. Then again, once I’m hotel imprisoned for the month of July I may end up writing a new post every day just to stay sane.

  229. Thanks for the welcome to the FF club Tex. Yesterday I joined AARP, I sh*t you not. 😆 Might as well join another special interest group.

Hey Obama, keep your hands off my Medicare!!!! 🙂

  230. The only time I go after your disability is when you go after little kids. Always Palin’s kids. Palin caused the shooting. Palin’s daughter isn’t hers. Palin, Palin, Palin.

It’s all you got in your crumbling world of hope and change.

I liked you better when you trumpeteered Obama’s every “fire side chat” with school boy optimism.

Now you are just a boring bigot.

Unlike my tired act, congratulations, you still shock me. Because I can’t believe an other wise decent person and writer would scapegoat a person like you do. It’s sick. But I have a feeling you’re boring everyone else with your hate.

Don’t fool yourself. You disappeared just like Chen did. Go back to gossiping, girlfriend. And pretend the vile shit you spew is somehow deeper or more complex then repeated handicap slurs.

  231. A 50 year old man who spent the last 3 years passionately arguing for what has turned out to be one of the most epic failures in modern history now spends his remaining days spreading filth about a handicap little boy.

The pen is mightier then the sword my ass.

  232. I found Chen the other night and was pulling his chain. He went from “missing me”, to “be nice Tex”. 😆

General Chen has turned into an old woman and is off to more esoteric pastures. I doubt he’ll be back for a good ass kicking next year. I’m not even sure he’s an Obama fan anymore after the dismal record.

I give you credit “R” = you proved tougher rhino hide than Chen. Never thought you’d last.

  233. What the hell is wrong with Michelle Obama’s knees “R”? They look like tree roots when she sits – bony protrusions shooting this way and that. I think she really is a witch.

    ———-

You want to read a real downer if your a college kid, or if you have kids in college. Hell, it’s a downer for even me. Problem is, this article is absolute truth. It’s excellent – but I would hate to be 18-22 these days.

College education is now for the most part, the biggest thievery in the nation. We are screwed…

    http://gonzotown.wordpress.com/2011/06/14/young-americans-forget-your-student-loans-and-move-to-gonzo-town/

  234. R, Happy Birthday you old fuck-nut you…

Let’s flip the question a bit- what Dem women could hold their own against William F. Buckley? Pelosi? Clinton? Boxer or Feinstein? Wasserman-Schultz (chuckle, chuckle)? None of them would stand a chance in a one on one with Buckley- so he choose, whic is why Buckley doesn’t work for you.

Buckley had the ability to speak at th level of th audience, and still participate in the free exchange of ideas. Palin and Bauchman would not b in bad company with Buckley.

Again, I’m not fathoming this sexist premise that ALWAYS exists with the left. Again, it is another strawman causal relationship:

Women voting GOP = against self-interest

It’s just as foolish as other certain causul relationships, like:

Blacks voting Dem = for self-interest

I think Detroit, Washington D.C., Balitimore, Chicago, Atlanta, etc, etc, etc, proved this meme forever wrong.

You don’t lik or Bauchman, fine, but if you think they would do a worse job than this clown in the WH, well, then you’ve not truly examined the state of affairs we’re currently in…

  235. This is what we can expect from Obama for 2012- lies and deception…

(ABC News) — At last night’s Republican debate, the seven candidates talked about unemployment, taxes, regulations, former Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s talk of a goal of 5% GDP growth, the individual mandate in the health care bill, the Independent Medicare Advisory Board, welfare reform, the Tea Party, currency policy, the National Labor Relations Board, Boeing, TARP, the auto bailout, Rep. Paul Ryan’s Medicare proposal, former Gov. Mitt Romney’s health care program in Massachusetts, raising the debt ceiling, raising the retirement age for Social Security, the role of religion in public life, the 10th amendment, Libya, Afghanistan, and so on.

But President Obama’s 2012 campaign is sending out a DNC video suggesting the candidates spoke only about sharia law, an anti-gay-marriage amendment, repealing health care, Sarah Palin, and the space program. . . .

But the video, which Messina calls a “highlight reel” and the DNC titled “What in the world are they talking about?” selectively uses clips from the 2-hour forum suggesting that the candidates were focused on idiotic issues, or battles from the past, when all of the topics the video hammers the Republicans for talking about were ones they were asked about at the forum.

  236. Gorilla, nice catch.

Dims like Rutherford and to a lesser degree RINO/Lefty Indendent types like Pfesser are going to find out it’s a hell of a lot harder to fudge, fake, lie and distort a real record, than to make promises you can’t possibly fulfill and preach platitudes to weak idiots – those who swooned over a teleprompter and Styrofoam Roman columns.

What worked in 2008 won’t work in entirety for 2012 for Little Caesar and his minions. Dims can lie all they want, but their pathetic results can’t be buried. Obama was and is a lying, pandering failure and thief.

Here is a case in point of the sheer ignorance that put this dangerous, narcissistic fool in power. Save me Obama! I loathe this idiots….I’m done played out on sympathy sweetheart, expecting everyone to cover for your consistently poor personal decisions – including the politicians you support.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2003688/Mother-3-Destiny-Mathis-sells-Obamas-handwritten-letter-avoid-eviction.html

You keep singing Obama’s praises Destiny because Obama deserves them. He’s black, after all. 🙄 Change you can believe in.

  237. Happy Birthday, Rutherford.

I had an adrenaline-charged experience moments after hitting send on my last comment yesterday. It was call from the police telling me that my wife and kids were involved in a car accident were being transported to the hospital. No comment on their condition; just asked if I wanted them to send a car to take me to the ER. I drove myself scaring the shit out of everyone as I ran out of the office without saying anything.

Fortunately, no permanent or terribly serious injuries. Concussions, soft tissue neck, back and chest injuries. The usual suspects. No broken bones or internal stuff. C.T. scans were all good. Although it’s still not clear what happened, a car flipped into the back of Mrs. Tigre’s car while she was stopped at a light.

    Phew! Sobering.

When I got home, the irascible Tigre had the pleasure of reading Rutherford’s latest Palin rant. Now I know, R, you meant to rattle the cage to see the monkeys here fling poo. And I know you’re trying to stir the pot to drum up some animated discussion fueled by the latest from your new, sometimes-comrade, PF. But damn dude. The shit you spew about Palin as cover for your own insecurities, patent chauvinism, and despair over the failing of your cult of personality is getting downright creepy.

Is the story now that you have discovered evidence that Trig is the product of incest between Palin’s husband and youngest daughter or am I missing something? If so, you’ve got to WANT to believe something like that because it’s way the fuck out there. If not, why are you interested?

In any event, R I think your maturity with respect to this does not match your age.

  238. Fifty years isn’t really so bad
Arriving there should not make you sad.
    You’ve struggled and seen
    The American Dream
Who cares if Liberal demise ironclad?.

As tribute to my favorite Lib Blogger, let us all join in with Mr. Rutherford’s fantasy babe, and sing a hearty rendition to our favorite target of scorn. Happy Birthday, you scoundrel!!!

  239. Tigre, very glad to hear your family is fine. Every time my wife is on the road home, this weekend with daughter #1, I fret until she arrives. Like somehow, I’m going to be able to save the day when she is here if we get rear ended. 🙂

  240. spreading filth about a handicap little boy.

Honest to goodness I don’t want to spend the day arguing about this but I see here what Rabbit might call a distinction without a difference. If we’re gonna call it “spreading filth”, then it’s spreading filth about Sarah, not the little boy. I’ve argued this before about what Pfesser calls “Toad’s wild ride”. It is a condemnation of the lengths Sarah might go to to fool the public. It is not a condemnation of Trig who bears absolutely no responsibility for his circumstances. If Trig had been born “normal” would it make any difference? I’d still be questioning how a woman flew from TX to Alaska knowing she could give birth any minute. So I don’t even know why, in Rabbit’s mind, Trig’s disability even plays into this.

To borrow a sentiment from BiW, if Todd were to punch me in the face, it would for besmirching his wife and daughter, not his son. And when I think about it, BiW is right … if Todd did punch my lights out, I’d have it coming.

  241. Gorilla, Buckley would look on Sarah with intellectual pity, perhaps compassion. He might try to school her but she’s proven she’s not interested in learning anything.

Now Bachmann … that’s a different story. While I consider her a wing-nut and the Oral degree bothers me, I’m still taking a measure of her intellectually. Her history sucks. But I must admit when asked what she reads, her answer made Sarah look like an absolute imbecile. I don’t recall the books on the list but damn I hadn’t heard of half of them. I was begrudgingly impressed.

  242. Tigre, damn, I felt a panic just reading the account of your family incident. Glad everything turned out ok. I’m so f*ckin’ neurotic that whenever my wife and kid go out without me I fear in the back of my mind something might happen.

A little dude on my shoulder told me not to hit “enter” on that Willow theory. I should’ve listened to him. 😐 Heck, even PF has bailed on me … PF WHERE ARE YOU DUDE?? As for where you took my theory, I confess it crossed my mind but that is even too gross for me to commit to virtual paper. I know lots think my theory is vile on its face, but Tigre you took it into hyper-vile territory. No honestly, I think, if I’m right, it’s just a kid experimenting … maybe trying to keep up with her sister who was obviously not celibate.

  243. LOL Poolman … yeah I noticed this morning that I share a birthday with Ice Cube. Neil Patrick Harris too! So I’m in good company … a gangsta rapper and a gay actor! 🙂 It’s great being a liberal!

  244. He might try to school her but she’s proven she’s not interested in learning anything.

How, praytell, has she “proven” this?

    ———————————–
Now Bachmann … that’s a different story. While I consider her a wing-nut and the Oral degree bothers me, I’m still taking a measure of her intellectually. Her history sucks. Rutherford,
There are times that I swear, you couldn’t be more of a snob if you tried. I think perhaps as part of initiation process into the Ivy League, you all undergo a concentrated brainwashing where you all are indoctrinated to think that someone who didn’t attend an Ivy League school is automatically your intellectual inferior.

Bachmann has an LL.M. in tax law. They don’t just hand those out. It was the hardest work I have ever done in my academic career, and I wasn’t in the top 10 % of my class for the fist time ever. I wasn’t even in the top 25%. I was in the top 50%, but that is no where NEAR good enough to be considered for the Office of General Counsel for the IRS, where Bachmann worked for years. Those people are SMART, Rutherford.

It might be time to drop some of your prejudices before you underestimate someone the wrong way.

  245. LOL I kinda cringed when Peter Lawford introduced her as “the late Marilyn Monroe”. Sadly prophetic. And to think everyone in the audience was laughing and cheering having no idea the POTUS was boinking her.

  246. It might be time to drop some of your prejudices before you underestimate someone the wrong way.

Interesting that Obama attending some of the finest schools in the country hasn’t earned the respect you heap on Bachmann. No partisan bias there heh? 😉

  247. Interesting that Bush attending one of the finest schools in the country didn’t earn him the respect you heap on Obama. No partisan bias there heh?

  248. By the way, for all you music lovers out there, today’s present from the wife and kid consisted of the latest releases from:

    Adele
The Cars (first one in 24 years!!!!)
    Green Day
    Paul Simon
    and … R.E.M.

    🙂

To top it off, a DVD of twelve episodes of the Andy Griffith Show, one of my favs.

  249. I know lots think my theory is vile on its face, but Tigre you took it into hyper-vile territory. No honestly, I think, if I’m right, it’s just a kid experimenting … maybe trying to keep up with her sister who was obviously not celibate.

If you’re right or wrong, you think that it’s proper based on a decision to get on a plane after her water broke? Really? Really? Do you have any idea how desperate that sounds?

Not liking someone because you don’t like them is one thing. Making up and publishing things about their kids on, well, no evidence AT ALL, because you want to believe that would somehow implicate the parent in some sort of deception? That isn’t just “Get a life” sad. That’s “Seek professional help immediately” sad.

  250. Rutherford –

I haven’t bailed on you; I’ve been covered over my ears at work.

There are a lot of theories concerning what really took place concerning SP’s fake pregnancy; I probably know more about it than anyone you know, having multiple ties to multiple Alaska bloggers et al…

Firstly, the “You are attacking her kids” is just a red herring. Nobody said anything about Trig; he is not involved except as a prop for SP.

Secondly, there is absolutely no doubt it did not occur as she says. Obstetricians I know laugh hysterically when they see pictures of her “pregnant abdomen” and hear the story of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. What really happened we don’t know yet.

It would amaze you to see how closely many of the bloggers have followed the calendar and how much they know about where SP was, when, her itinerary, where the children were when, etc. etc… so there is a lot known about her children too, and the Willow theory has been largely discounted by people in the know, for various reasons. Prolly the foremost authority right now is Gryphen of Immoral Minority.

The “Covering for another Bristol pregnancy” has probably the most support right now. The major problem is that the baby is a Down’s and that is far more likely to an older mom, like SP herself. Known interactions between SP and Bristol suggest this is very likely, and that SP had planned to adopt the baby; when she announced SHE was preggers, Bristol went off the reservation and there was a big blow-up between the two of them, since THAT was never the plan.

A third theory is that she had the baby herself and it was in hospital or an institution of some kind and she was planning to leave it there when this wonderful opportunity to get some street cred with the Pro-Life crowd happened and she rushed home to reclaim her own, but the dates would be wrong. Her failure to produce a birth certificate and KB Johnson, the doc’s refusal to give a birth date (doesn’t want to lose her medical license!) support this.

A fourth theory is Trig is the product of one of Todd’s many dalliances; I don’t know much about that.

Someone out there knows what happened; it will come out sometime. I believe soon. And if it does, it will be a horrific shakeup of the process of vetting candidates. That would be a good thing, IMHO.

BTW, Tex – I am not a RINO. That would be a Republican, which – until which time they come to their senses – I am most assuredly NOT. I am full-blooded Llibertarian – you know, the people who believe the Constitution means exactly what it says…

  251. Thanks guys. Interesting what runs through you mind in times like that. I could’ve used some info on the way about their condition. Instead, I had to meet the ambulances and see them being wheeled off and into the ER one at a time. I had no idea prior to that. They just wouldn’t say.

FWIW, I was a limo driver fora brief period in the late 80s. Used to drive The Cars from time to time. Orr I liked. The others, not so much. Elliot Easton for whatever reason was always responsible for the tip. I always wished he weren’t. Not so generous. It explained why none of the other drivers wanted the assignments.

Andy Griffith show is one of the all time best. Barney and that damn Otis never got old for me. Good gift.

  252. Tex – saw the retraction from Thatcher’s office. I stand corrected.

The article DOES say “vain and futile attempt to use Margaret Thatcher’s name to smear a major US politician”

Excuse me? A major US politician?

How about a “goofy-assed grifter?” That fits a little better.

  253. Man Tigre, that must have been horrible. I hope everyone is doing ok.
When my wife blinded her eye I got an ambiguous phone call from EMS like that. I know the panic you felt.

  254. “It will be a horrific shakeup of the process of vetting candidates.”

If there were any “vetting” at all Obama never would’ve seen the light of day.

PF and R, the fact that you seem to care so much about this stuff is kind of fucked up. Even Poolman backs away from this. What gives? It seems pathological to pursue her with such venom and hatred as ytjough she’s done something to you personally.

Incidentally, the incest concept I devined from something Tex or Rabbit (I think) said about Rutherford’s posts in 2008. It came about during R’s MSNBC-driven accusations following the Giffords shooting.

I can’t wait for the fake pregnancy story to be revealed. Why it hasn’t had traction to date indicates to me that you guys are just latching on to some twisted Kaczynski-like object of obsession. Seriously, can you explain what the fucking obsession with her is all about?

  255. Weeeeeeeee! Shorted this bitch and my gas is cheaper. Dollar stronger.

    WIN, win, win.

Shitty Wall street equals breathing room for us miserables!

    Whoooooo!

Of course, I should just sell my puts and buy my wife a white picket fence that she wants on our “new” home. But I won’t because I’m greedy.

I got a rhinestone life; a stolen wife; and some good ‘ole boys!

As Ice Cube said, Its good to be a gangster.

  256. El Tigre –

First, glad the family scare worked out for you. My two sons hit a patch of ice after Xmas and put my car head-on into a tree. Good old Volvo. Not a scratch, but still scary.

I normally don’t puss out and just post links, but Andrew Sullivan explained in an OLD post why SP matters, and why the process that let her get within a rifle shot, let alone spitting distance, of the Presidency, must be reviewed and revamped.

    Here it is: http://www.theatlantic.com/daily-dish/archive/2008/11/why-palin-still-matters/208714/

And that is why she matters to me. On a personal basis, she is of no more importance than a big dog farting, but the very fact that she came within even miles of being the VP is VERY, VERY important and must never happen again.

  257. but the very fact that she came within even miles of being the VP is VERY, VERY important and must never happen again.

Substute Joe Biden for Sarah Palin in that breathless assertion, and you have a credible remark.

Good old Sheriff Slo-Jo, who has managed to have a long career in politics, despite being wrong whenever he opens his mouth.

  258. I think he’s more of a rump spelunker, but that’s the guy!

Hell, he likes beagles. Having rabbit hunted most of my childhood, I guess that sort of took me in.

  259. “Obstetricians I know laugh hysterically when they see pictures of her “pregnant abdomen” and hear the story of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. What really happened we don’t know yet.”

Gee, I don’t know why any woman would bother to go visit their OB-GYN when all they have to do is send in pictures for the doctor to see all that he needs to see in order to make medical determinations about her pregnancy.

Oh, the wonders of modern technology…..

  260. “I probably know more about it than anyone you know, having multiple ties to multiple Alaska bloggers et al…”

So why note cite them instead of Andrew “Milky Loads” Sullivan?

  261. How about a “goofy-assed grifter that I am obsessed with like my heroines Grandma Margaret and Grandma Helen?”

FIFY. I don’t know why you badmouth that place Pfesser. More often then not, you read just like Fat Grannies.

I am most assuredly NOT. I am full-blooded Llibertarian – you know, the people who believe the Constitution means exactly what it says…

No matter what you would like to call yourself, following your debased philosophy of moral rot about anything of importance, there would be no America for the simple fact that our Republic required people with moral clarity to pen the Constitution – you ain’t got it.

Actually, what I do consider you is a well schooled deviant with a gift of leaving quotes, most that never existed to begin with as proof of your fantastic rationale. Like some of those “Jefferson quotes” that don’t seem to jive with his other writings. In reading your conclusions about “truth”, you probably would have us believe today, Thomas Jefferson would closely resemble Larry Flynt.

And you have once against demonstrated that moral rot with some inane Palin blather on par with the acumen of say RoseAnne Barr and Aunt Jean

Now, is there anything else you would like to mention about how cute I am Pfesser?

  262. Oh, don’t let Pfesser bother you BIC about his PDS. He suffers from the same selective memory as our good buddy, the birthday boy.

Why just the other, Pfesser reminded every one at Fat Grannies that is was mainly the RePUGlicans (sic) that created this hostile environment of Washington politics to begin with during the Lewinsky affair. It was mainly Rush Limbaugh’s fault, or something to that regard.

Unfortunately, our knighted Doctor had forgotten it was one Jr. Senator Joe Biden, along with his good buddy Sen. Edward Kennedy (Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment), for whom the term “Borked” was created way back in 1987, predating Lewinsky by 11 long years.

Convenient memory is such a wonderful thing.

  263. “Like some of those “Jefferson quotes” that don’t seem to jive with his other writings.”

Name one. Hell, you’re on a roll, name two.

In reading your conclusions about “truth”, you probably would have us believe today, Thomas Jefferson would closely resemble Larry Flynt.

They DO have some similarities. Great quote from “The People vs Larry Flynt:”

“If the First Amendment will protect a scumbag like me, it will protect all of you. ”

“Mantke Clerk: Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help yo God?
    Larry Flynt: No.
    Judge Thomas Alva Mantke: No?
Larry Flynt: Your honor, I’m an atheist. I can’t very well, uh, swear to a God I don’t believe exists.
Judge Thomas Alva Mantke: Mr. Flynt, you are a handful.
Larry Flynt: I know, your honor. ”

I’m sure some of the Brits thought the same of my slave-fucking hero, Tom.
Haven’t made my pilgrimage to the Great Man’s Mountain this year. Gotta go soon. Maybe Friday. I need to take my car to Charlottesville anyway.

  264. Brother Rabbit, I can tell you a horror story or two about Level III communications as a company second hand, from my partner who is now a doctor – possibly the worst managed corporation in America, this side of GE.

Do you realize it’s the poorly managed companies (GE, Level 3, BP, the Greenies) that are the big Zero business contributors? Ask yourself why?

Like Zero and his sponges who put him in office, they’re out of existence without the public dole.

But that is fitting. Thanks for providing that.

  265. Like I said Pfesser – you and Larry Flynt seem to carry a lot of commonalities, a lot of similarities. Somehow, I haven’t put Hustler, Libertarian and the Constitution on the same ticket yet, but I’m not entirely sure you that you have the sense to take that insult either. 😉

Of course, if you were to research Larry, you would find a wide trail of destruction, especially those chicks of his – suicide, and drug overdose does seem to kill an awfully lot of those “babes” early, and that I could prove. Unlike you, it hasn’t been my experience porn just an innocent vice, nor the people that produce porn some of the highest quality folk. In fact, I would rate them about on par with political dregs.

Now as to your Jefferson quotes: I’m going to tell you the same thing you like to tell me about my claims of the obvious Creator and your claims of non-existence by asking me to disprove your negative…

I’m not going to damn thing but sit on my ass and say this: I don’t believe your quotes. 🙂 I don’t believe a damn one of them. 🙂 Unless you lay the original manuscripts in my hand, I won’t believe a thing. 🙂 They don’t exist. smile:

This is too easy. How about another Palin story? That last one should have forced you to pay royalties to Fat Grannies.

  266. “Percentages are much higher for the big-dollar bundlers. Nearly 80 percent of those who collected more than $500 ,000 for Obama took “ key administration posts,” as defined by the White House.”-R

Hey Tex, how much do you want to bet that Rutherford doesn’t care about hope and change anymore. He will get all ” establishment” on us and tell us that’s just the way it is.

Even if he no longer cares about hope and change, this has to be patronage on a level that rivals any President in American history.

  267. Still, as a GE stockholder it pisses me off. Think I’ll dump my stock. Thanx for the heads-up.

Already dumped mine – therefore we do have something in common. A disdain of piss poor performers. But there’s no need parse.

You only need to know that GE’s current CEO Jeffrey Immelt has expertly managed to drop the value of GE shares approximately 40% during his tenure.

And the head of Obama’s jobs program is none other that Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE. Monumental failure of the Siamese twins of Dismal.

Isn’t that wonderful? We’re in the best of hands. A flunky with record of failure leading Zero’s Jobs Programs.

  268. Rabbit – as old Rutherford hits 50 today, his love of politics must be circling the drain about now like his life force.

Never forget Rutherford is a product of his environment: (1) Liberal; (2) Black. That’s mother’s milk to old “R” and there’s no changing it. Mao could be on the Dimocratic ticket and Rutherford would be jumping to pull the ‘D’ lever.

Rutherford would as soon eat glass as admit his party, more specifically Obama has been an abysmal failure. Bottom line is I know as usual, you’re spot on.

That’s just the way it is. 😆

  269. Even if he no longer cares about hope and change, this has to be patronage on a level that rivals any President in American history.

SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Shut yo mouth! Corruption Critics will finally have someone else’s legacy to kick around. Don’t wreck this for me!

  270. Happy Birthday Rutherford. May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be Tex’s. -Frank Sinatra (mostly)

    🙂

  271. This stuff about Sarah Palin is pretty ugly. Shocked the hell out of me too, Rabbit.

I hope the lady gets the last laugh.

  272. Read your Sullivan blog article PF. That articulates what’s driving you and R? 🙄 What a load of bulshit. As BiW said, you need help. The problem’s with you, not her.

  273. Tigre –

So sorry to hear about about the accident and injuries. Concussions 😦 Ouch. Hope there’s a Dairy Queen close by. I hope it’s not too rough a night for anybody.

    Cheers.

  274. For all you users out there…

“…soda is just like a gateway drug.”

Things go better with Coke was a lie, you Pepsi generation enablers, pushing your Dr Pepper every 10, 2, and 4. You be doin’ the Dew getting all juiced on that crap, pushing that stuff on the youth. Nasty habit. “Put it in the schools,” you said. Just because it’s legal, doesn’t mean it’s good. Soda fountains on every street corner. Drive thru junkies running the streets. You know who you are. 😡

    RE: 4/18/08
Statistically, how many women do you think board a commercial flight after their “water” has broken and they are in labor? Figure into that the odds that none of the flight attendants detected any labor/pregnancy for this somewhat lengthy flight. Add to that no record of a birth at the supposed time and place of said birth, and voilà. A very ripe opportunity for conjecture. 😎

  275. Why is Andrew Sullivan’s opinion important to anyone? Why should we put this diseased ridden sodomite’s opinion above a four pack a day smoker, or some meth head to offer opinion? Would we ask a leopard skinned, fedora wearing pimp about the Trig Palin pregnancy? How about a $3.00 crack whore opinion of Sarah Palin policies? Would we ask a pedophile what they thought about Bristol Palin’s child out of wedlock?

Sullivan is the bottom of the barrel – the last drips of the musty dregs. This idiot hopped around New York and London bath houses and got nailed by one of his equally twisted ” AIDS ridden butt buddies” with a smile on his face and spoo on his bald head And then this maggot has the unmitigated gall to bitch about the millions we’ve spent on research – stripping other cancer research in the process.

This is who the libs drag out now as moral arbiter? ** GUFFAW ** You sick bastards. You clowns are so screwed up, I almost pity you. When the wall comes crashing down, the libs will be the ones with their mouths gaped and their thumbs in their asses.

SAVE ME OBAMA! SAVE ME! 😯

  276. Happy Birthday Rutherford. May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be Tex’s.

    😆 HAW HAW HAW 😆

With Rutherford, it will be the grim reaper Tex. 👿 Muffy, you know that sends the fear of “something” into Rutherford – like his worst nightmare. We finally meet on his death bed, and Tex has horns and a pitchfork.

“R” – I hope you had good and a great birthday. That you and your wife put your troubles behind you, and that your little girl still hasn’t found the camera again. My wife and I got a good chuckle out of that story.

  277. HEY! A DIMOCRAT SAYS SOMETHING FOR CHANGE I CAN BELIEVE IN!

Debbie Wassername Schultz: ‘We own the economy’

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0611/57025.html

Does this mean it’s not George Bush’s fault anymore? They own consumer spending dropping for the first time in nine months too. Congratulations. And this frazzled Nancy Pelosi mini-me brags about it! :What an uber moonbat! smile: ** GUFFAW ** This is great stuff…

Oh Rutherford – I can hardly wait for the next 17 months. Zero, Jolting Joe, and now a Joy Behar graduate student of economics for spokesperson. You better buckle your shoes my OLD friend and run while you still can.

You sure you still got the energy to provide deflection for these imbeciles? That’s a lot of posts – we’re sure to be inundated with Sarah Palin stories for months to come.

  278. Wow, this thread inspired the one and only Warren G. Harding (see 366) to return from the grave to remind us he has dibs on king of corruption. 🙂

Warren, while you’re here could you tell us a bit more about your black grandmother? Not only do you trump Obama on corruption but you’re also really our first black President.

    🙂

  279. Rollie Lawson – I want you to reminisce of a happier day as a birthday present of my utter disdain of Obama’s idiocy my fondness for you.

Buwahahahahaha…Is this what you Libs call “being hoisted by Obama’s own petard?” Now, make sure you listen between the 4:00 and 5:00 minute mark. It’s a classic! One that is sure to send shivers down your spine – kind of like a tingle up the leg.

    http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/02/obama_oneterm_proposition_if_n.html

You’re running out of time. Do you have any earthly idea how much fun I am going to have shoving Zero’s record up and through your external sphincters for the next 17 months? You’re a sport.

    xxxox,

    Tex

  280. Minus Ben Orr

So sad and so true Huck. I rented a video a few years back with one of the Cars final interviews and Ben was gaunt and clearly not well. Pancreatic cancer … not your typical end for a rock star.

On the new album’s liner notes, they give a shout-out to him and they made a point of not replacing him. Greg Hawkes does double duty on bass.

  281. Used to drive The Cars from time to time.

Damn Tigre, color me green with envy. From some recent interviews I’ve read, Ric Ocasek seems pretty full of himself. A recent Rolling Stone article had him criticizing Orr’s lyric writing ability and I had to crack up. Ocasek’s lyrics are the most obtuse on the planet. One of my favorites: “Set aside the screaming fish”. 🙂 Don’t get me wrong … I love his absurdist lyrics but he’s in a helluva position to rank on anybody else.

  282. how much do you want to bet that Rutherford doesn’t care about hope and change anymore.

I wouldn’t say I don’t care about it but I think it was a bit childish of me to believe in it to the degree I did. I always mourned the fact that I was born 10 years too late and missed the 60’s (I was a little kid at the time). I guess Obama represented to me a time to capture that 1960’s optimism and progressive activism that I missed as a youth.

I don’t know whether Obama failed or whether the 60’s vibe I wanted was a myth in the first place. 😦

  283. his love of politics must be circling the drain about now like his life force.

LOL for some reason I found that funny. Well, I can take solace in laughing at the current crop of GOPhers who will come to the rescue in 2013. But I say this seriously, when Huntsman announces next week, I’m gonna have to look at him good and hard. Damn I hope I don’t like him. If I vote GOP next year you guys will never let me hear the end of it.

  284. May you live to be 100 and may the last voice you hear be Tex’s

Muffy, that’s classic. I can go in all sorts of directions on that one. Does Tex end up killing me? Is Tex my last hold-out friend at my death-bed? Is Tex God? 😯

  285. What I love about that Cars “live” video is that it is obviously footage of them on stage with the studio track dubbed over it. Just look at Orr’s lips which are completely out of synch with the lyrics. Like watching a poorly dubbed Japanese movie. 🙂

  286. Now this Cars performance is really live cos I know the studio version like the back of my hand. I used to strut around my college living room flailing my imaginary right drum stick down on the down beat. (By the way, one guy in the comments section of this video makes a good point. I’ve always heard the Cars sucked live not because they didn’t sound good but because they just stood there and played and basically ignored the audience.)

  287. So sad and so true Huck. I rented a video a few years back with one of the Cars final interviews and Ben was gaunt and clearly not well. Pancreatic cancer … not your typical end for a rock star.” – R

What, were they fresh outta airplanes and coke?

    The things you say…

  288. Some more intellectual honesty from BO…

WASHINGTON — The White House is telling Congress that President Obama has the legal authority to continue American participation in the NATO-led air war in Libya, even though lawmakers have not authorized it.

In a broader package of materials the Obama administration is sending to Congress on Wednesday defending its Libya policy, the White House, for the first time, offers lawmakers and the public an argument for why Mr. Obama has not been violating the War Powers Resolution since May 20.

On that day, the Vietnam-era law’s 60-day deadline for terminating unauthorized hostilities appeared to pass. But the White House argued that the activities of United States military forces in Libya do not amount to full-blown “hostilities” at the level necessary to involve the section of the War Powers Resolution that imposes the deadline.

“We are acting lawfully,” said Harold Koh, the State Department legal adviser, who expanded on the administration’s reasoning in a joint interview with White House Counsel Rober

OK R, explain this to me again, because last I checked, the use of military force in a foreign country amounted to an act of war.

  289. “OK R, explain this to me again, because last I checked, the use of military force in a foreign country amounted to an act of war.”

Yep. New Rules: Twenty-eighth amendment to the Constitution:

“No military action of any type or degree may be undertaken without vote and consent of 2/3 majority of both houses of Congress.”

  290. Pfesser,

You’ve forgotten the 2nd half of the 28th Amendment: with a Republican President. 🙂

Let’s give credit where credit is due – Zero has ignored the Amendment twice two months.

And to prove what a disgrace you Obama supporters were and “R”, I call every one of you a liar that denies had this been Bush conducting campaigns in Libya and Yemen, you would have been demanding his resignation and shrieking for calls of war crimes of the Nazi War criminal to be tried at the Hague.

You know the best part of this whole affair all of you Libs and most of you Libertarians are missing? The spookiest part of the whole ordeal? And nobody here has said a word about the ramifications in the media that I’m aware.

Obama didn’t single-handedly order the use of military force. That would have been bad enough. What has transpired IMO is has far greater repercussions.

Obama sought the permission not of Congress, but the U.N. 😡

  291. Rutherford & Huck

Since we are basically the same age, did you guys ever enjoy “Southern Rock?” I was a big fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brother’s Bands in my day. Did you guys ever enjoy something like this?

I was running through my head the day about my “favorite band” and really couldn’t a favorite. The Beatles, The Eagles, The Stones, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Lynyrd Skynyrd, much of MoTown, ZZ Top, about 50 more.

From about the mid 60 thru the mid 80s, that was great time to be a fan of rock & roll, and for the most part, that is still my favorite music.

Believe it or not, of all the concerts I ever saw – and there were many – that absolute best, most talented musician live was Billy Joel. He’s even better live than he is in studio – the only concert I ever saw where it sounded better than the record. That probably about ’81-’82. The guy is an absolute musical genius.

  292. Regarding Obama, Bush and war crimes, Libya maybe, Yemen not so much. Yemen based on the War on Terror has had an ass whipping coming to it for some time now. No tears shed for bombs dropped in Yemen. Libya, even though they have committed acts of terrorism, is still on the fence in my book.

  293. Never was a big fan of Southern Rock. I like Skynyrd’s “What’s Your Name?” I suppose I understand why folks love “Sweet Home Alabama” with it’s slam at Neil Young. I also love Marshall Tucker Band’s “Heard it in a Love Song”. So I like particular songs but not the genre in general. Of course, my favorite boys from Berkeley California, CCR, sound like Louisiana swamp rock. I can’t get enough of them.

  294. “did you guys ever enjoy “Southern Rock?” ”

Only the FM radio hits. Synyrd, .38 Special and of course, “Flirtin’ With Disaster.” From about the 80s on, my musical tastes got very aggressive, and have pretty much stayed that way.

    On another note…Weiner’s done!

“Regarding Obama, Bush and war crimes, Libya maybe, Yemen not so much. Yemen based on the War on Terror has had an ass whipping coming to it for some time now. No tears shed for bombs dropped in Yemen. Libya, even though they have committed acts of terrorism, is still on the fence in my book.”

Here’s the thing. Regardless of where we are dropping bombs, we are killing people. Someone is losing their life. Often, not even the people we are trying to kill. That’s nobody’s fault…shit happens. But this “kinetic action,” “I don’t need congress because its NATO” bullshit aint gettin’ it. If people are dying then we’re at war. And Libya isn’t a part of the WoT.

  295. man…I love southern rock. Greece is on the Euro. I suppose that’s why they are scaring the shit out of everyone.

I down about 500 bucks today. I hate these days.

  296. Brittany Spears or The Beatles? Justin Bieber or this? The guy is a fruitcake, but he is one damn talented musician. And this song Kicks Ass….

I was initiated into a fraternity with this song playing. Can you believe old Tex as in a fraternity? 😯 Most pretentious bunch of blowhards I’ve ever been witness to, but the sorority girls were pretty.

  297. Any dems reading this that want to explain why the call for Weiner’s resignation after the defense of Clinton? The “it’s just creepier” ain’t working for this lawyer.

R, for your edification, as a driver you spend a lot of time waiting around, sitting in traffetc. ic, and therefore privy to the discussion in the back (and in fact, if you’re cool — as am I — a participant from time to time). I always had the sense that guys in the The Cars didn’t really like each other that much. Unlike other groups, they just didn’t interact like guys do when there’s a bond — even if they were just worn out. I was not real big fan of The Cars so I don’t know what the Rolling Stone version of the group is. But I always thought the interaction was kind of weird. They seemed unhappy all the time.

(Now, Bootsy Collins. . . that guy was really fun to be around and I think enjoyed interacting with “the little people” around him more than most. But I digress).

  298. Muffy, DQ is just the right placebo in this instance. I think I’ll get some on my way home. Thanks for the suggestion.

  299. Marshall Tucker, Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd. All good. I got burnt out on Free Bird after hearing it over and over and over…

I worked as a stagehand in Lubbock, which put me in close proximity with many performers of various genres. The “country” bands were often the biggest partiers and usually had the most/best drugs. I worked Charlie Daniels’ Band several times and some of our crew would go party with them on their tour bus. Two of the most down-to-earth I recall were Reba and Bonnie Raitt. Reba would just hang around backstage and chat with all of us. No makeup, wearing jeans and a tee shirt. Bonne Raitt acted like she was just one of the crew, sitting next to us during meals. No pretenses. No super ego.

There used to be plenty of free music jams at various venues. Stubb’s BBQ was a favorite hangout for talent. Stevie Ray Vaughn used to play plenty before he became well known. Muddy Waters, Rusty Wier, Joe Ely, Waylin Jennings, Marsha Ball, to name a few. Good memories. Good times.

  300. Have I ever mentioned I have this crush on the Celtic women? Especially the pretty young, chubby one. I told my Irish like, auburn haired, hazel eyed beauty (though I think she’s more German), “if I ever have a harem, this is what I want.”

She told me, “Boyfriend, if I had the money, I’d buy them for you….now go mow the lawn.” 😆

Everybody likes my wife (but me). I was going to go see these pretty, young lasses in Houston, but I was afraid I’d lose control and rush the stage. 😈

  301. I always had the sense that guys in the The Cars didn’t really like each other that much.

Doesn’t surprise me. When you watch them live (I’ve only seen video, never been to a concert), you don’t see much interaction between the band members on stage. Even a group like the Stones with an obvious front man still looks like they’re communicating with each other on stage. The Cars looked like five solo artists who fortunately played their parts at the right time to produce a good sounding song.

Ric Ocasek has also been quoted as saying he found the band to be more “work” than play. Apparently in the later years, Orr had also developed a bit of drinking problem.

Aside to Gorilla …. when I say “Rock star A died at age 53” what is the first thing you think, drug overdose or pancreatic cancer?

  302. Well I really hate to sound like a dork but you know who really put on a great show? Barry Manilow. I kid you not. I like a number of Barry’s songs but my wife really likes him and convinced me to take her to a concert. I have to say, the dude put on a professional, polished and great sounding show. I left that concert a bigger fan than I was when I went in.

  303. Tex, your comment on Celtic Woman reminded me of a Quixotic quest I went on a few years ago.

A group named Clannad put out this song called “Harry’s Game” which was used on a few BBC shows and in a popular VW commercial. When I heard it, I felt it was strangely familiar and I was reminded of a commercial by the Ireland Tourist Bureau that featured this dark hair beauty looking up at the camera with some ephemeral music in the background that I loved.

So I started researching what that tourist commercial song was and I discovered (from various discussion boards) that it was indeed Clannad but the song was made only for that commercial and never released on CD. “Harry’s Game” was the next best thing. It was played at my wedding.

  304. Joe Walsh puts on a great show. A true professional on stage. You can sing along with every song….people dancing in the isles. It’s a great environment.

Deep Purple and the Scorpions are also top-notch live shows.

  305. I sold my puts for a wimpy profit. I bet you all that your tax dollars will end up going to bail out Athens. There will be no announcement. No debate on the floor. They will just find a way. Treason.

  306. “And to prove what a disgrace you Obama supporters”

I am not an Obama supporter. I am an Obama voter. Very different. It’s like shooting a child holding a fizzing grenade. Sometimes you have no choice.

“I call every one of you a liar that denies had this been Bush conducting campaigns in Libya and Yemen, you would have been demanding his resignation and shrieking for calls of war crimes of the Nazi War criminal to be tried at the Hague.”

You are mistaken. Man, you just get these ideas in your head and use them as jumping (to conclusions) off points, accusing folks of things they never said. This stuff is all in your head, nobody else’s.

    ****************************

On to better stuff: LOVE Joel’s Angry Young Man. My first intro to Joel. My fave, of course, is “Only the Good Die Young.”

“They say there’s a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it’s better but I say it ain’t
I’d rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
the sinners are much more fun…”

    Oh yeah…

    ***************************

    re Southern Rock:

    Southern Rock Rocks!
Love Allman Bros, Jessica. Came out when I was in college.
Love Marshall Tucker – Heard it in a Love Song. They got their name from a folded piece of paper they found onstage after a show. All it said was, “Marshall Tucker.”
Love Hatchet. Flirtin’ With Disaster. My theme song.
Love ZZ Top – Anything, but my fave is Viva Las Vegas. Listen to in headphones, it will set you free, my friend. Two most popular rolling papers in the seventies? Why, Zig Zag (ZZ) and Top of course!
Love Skynyrd – exc Free Bird. That’s now a joke at concerts, where the crowd yells to (any band) Free Bird! My fave is They Call me the Breeze.

    Love Hank Jr, Waylon, Willie

Jesus guys – you got my juices flowing now! I just rebuilt a set of 9 Kappa speakers from the ‘eighties (new foam on the drivers – quite a process) I drive them with a set of old Adcom GFA 565’s; the speakers are so inefficient it needs all they can put out for decent volume. (I talked to the designer – GFA stands for Great Fucking Amplifier – you gotta love geeks.) As you might guess, their preamp is the GFP.

Two more, far out. These two videos have been haunting me for the past week. From Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds: Forever Autumn and Thunder Child.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns0e6mpM8X8 Singer is Justin Hayward from Moody Blues. Narrator is, of course, Richard Burton. Yes, THAT Richard Burton.

If you can spare ANY time, watch these two videos. They slay me every time I watch them.

Sorry, can’t stay. I hear some ZZ Top callin’ me…

  307. I saw Deep Purple in El Paso around 1975ish. The band was toasted and ended up talking with all the scantilly clad girls close to the front of the stage, sitting down and they quit playing any music. The bulk of the audience booed and walked out. Many tried to get their money back. The two warm-up bands were great. One was Nazareth. They kicked butt.

Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, Ted Nugent, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, were some awesome performances that I recall. I worked several Elton John and Billy Joel events that were great. The Scorpions put on a great show that I worked in Lubbock and also Amarillo. It was one of my favorite tee shirts, too. Tee shirts were usually part of the swag we got for working these gigs.

Of course my daughters and their friends ended up taking all my Metallica “local crew” shirts. 😐

  308. Deep Purple and the Scorpions are also top-notch live shows.

Saw the Scorps back in ’89 on the Monsters of Rock Tour. They wer the best, and gave a better show than the Headliners, Van Halen (Sammy era).

In ’90, I saw Queensryche live too. Great show as well.

Joe Walsh puts on a great show. A true professional on stage. You can sing along with every song….people dancing in the isles. It’s a great environment.

Same with Bruce Hornsby…and in the smaller venues, he takes requests. If he knows it, he’ll play it.

Two more, far out. These two videos have been haunting me for the past week. From Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds: Forever Autumn and Thunder Child.

My Dad had it, first on vinyl, then CD. I grew up loving it. I introduced my oldest son to it this past week.

3 standout tracks and the sonorous tones of one of the greatest speaking voices of the 20th century.

  309. Best show I think I’ve ever been to is Tom Waits. It was very chill, but fun.

The concert – the artist – I most wish I could have seen? Elvis. Aloha From Hawaii. Front row. And yes, of course I would have rushed the King.

I wouldn’t mind sitting through an evening with Johnny Cash either. No sirree.

I think my dessert island album would be something from Van Morrison. Or Simon & Garfunkel.

My most recent purchase was a Ray Charles double CD.

(Psst. Rutherford, I’ve been known to spin a little Manilow when no one’s looking too.)

As for The Cars, every once in a while I need to hear Dangerous Type and You’re All I’ve Got Tonight.

    Real loud.

  310. An old friend said, “Jim, if you were God, Emerson, Lake and Palmer would be the house band.” So very true.

My neighbor is a burned-out hippie who just happens to own a radio station! I was visiting the station last summer and he was watching a CD of a live ELP performance. I told him I LOVED ELP.

“Hell,” he said, “Let’s let all of Southern Virginia listen, too!” So he put the audio on the station and played two solid hours of a live ELP performance. Great, great stuff.

  311. Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends!!! ELP. 🙂

So you’re an Obama “Voter” instead of an Obama “supporter” ❓

Kind of like I screwed the neighbor’s wife, but you used a rubber? Come on man – you had a weak moment. Admit it. You bopped the pooch.

About the war charges? You’re barking up the wrong tree – I was agreeing with your original sentiment towards Rutherford’s hero.

Now, since you are fan of ZZ (me too) and I’m also a fan of Brooks & Dunn, let’s set this room on fire with a little home cooking! Actually, I thought this was pretty awesome stuff here from the little band from Tejas…with a country spin.

  312. Hey Rutherford. My wife dragged me to Neil Diamond (at ORU gasp!!!) about 25 years ago. I held my nose…

Second or third best show I have ever seen. A real professional. Had this gal from church years ago ask me to a Dan Fogelberg concert, and he puts on a heck of a show too. And I didn’t even care for his concert.

Probably the most fun I ever had at a concert (outdoors) was Peter Frampton in his prime.

Worst concert I ever saw? Jefferson Starship & Journey. Sounds like it would be good, but they were rotten. Grace Slick looked like she’d been rolled before she hit the stage.

  313. 😳 Blooper Tex. Sorry Pfesser, made no sense.

Kind of like I YOU screwed the neighbor’s wife, but you used a rubber? Come on man – you had a weak moment. Admit it. You bopped the pooch.

  314. Those idiots yelling at Weiner’s presser are dicks (pun not intended).

On that, we agree. I’m sure the New York Tourism bureau would love to use that presser in their commercials. “Come to New York and meet our assh*les.”

  315. Muffy, Dangerous Type and You’re All I’ve Got Tonight are good but “I’ve Got a Lot On My Head” is one of my favs from the early days. Whenever I hear it I picture someone doing that Russian dance where you fold your arms, bend down in a sitting position and kick your shins out in front of you. 🙂

  316. Sign seen on a Florida Highway:

We would rather do business with 1,000 Al-Qaeda Terrorists than One American Soldier!!!

    Are you outraged? Don’t be.

It was an advertisement for a funeral home. 😮 Pretty Clever

  317. Well you guys have me way out-classed on concerts. The first bona-fide rock concert I ever attended was a couple of years ago when I saw Green Day.

The worst … was Dionne Warwick who played in the Catskills when I vacationed up there decades ago. It wasn’t that she sang poorly, but that she insulted the audience. I kid you not. I’ve disliked her ever since. (Her appearance on Celebrity Apprentice this year cemented my earlier impression of her.)

  318. Good call Rutherford. 🙂 Right now I have Since You’re Gone playing.

    Real loud, 🙂

Oh, Ben was the blond, huh? Aww,

Guess I’ll listen to Drive after this.

  319. Whoa. I forgot about Fleetwood Mac at Alpine Valley up in Wisconsin.

THAT was the best show I ever saw.

    Long, long time ago.

  320. .”Those idiots yelling at Weiner’s presser are dicks (pun not intended).”-Hucking

Is it wrong that they cracked me up big time?

  321. :Is it more than 7 inches? 😈 I understand they are speculating that was Howard Stern’s folks who were yelling. Sounds to me like some bad blood between two mouthy Jews – never get in between two Jews arguing. it’s like separating big dogs.

Yeah, I agree Huck. Weiner is tactless enough without the insults. Let the schmuck rest in peace. Oh, and good riddance.

  322. Muffy, everyone’s sore, but doing fine. Thanks for asking.

R, this thread is taking about 15 minutes to load. I think that means its time for more grist. New post!

  323. Yeah. As humanizing as they were…when we start trading concert stories it is definitely time for a new post.

  324. I never got to see too many concerts – but a few!

    James Taylor
    Melanie
    Pure Prairie League
Carpenters – I was deeply in love with Karen Carpenter
Leon Redbone – Right afterward he was in a plane crash in a snowstorm. Which amazingly he survived
John Hartford – Oh. My. God. OOOOH My God. He had people dancing in the aisles everywhere. When he got done I didn’t have a dry thread in my clothes and my thighs ached for days.
    Bela Fleck
    Temptations
    Four Tops
Gary Puckett and Union Gap – after he was over the hill – still good, though.
Blue Oyster Cult – three weeks before Don’t Fear the Reaper came out. They were opening for Wild Cherry. The singer said, “We’re not anybody you have ever heard of. We’re not sure we want to be.” Three weeks later the whole world knew them
Moody Blues – twice. My son’s middle name is Graeme – after Graeme Edge – who just turned seventy. Jesus, where did the time go?

One of my buds has all his ticket stubs, from 1965 to present. Must be at least a hundred fifty. He got backstage at an Elton John concert and was so stoned that he told John that if he practiced ten more years he might be as good as Keith Emerson. He is the quintessential case of dope getting you through times of money better than money getting you through times of no dope.

    Wish I had seen:

Emerson Lake and Palmer in their prime. They are terrible now. Greg’s beautiful voice is gone.
    Fleetwood Mac
    Dr. John
    J.J. Cale
    ZZ Top
    Doors
    Skynyrd
    Allman Brothers
Carly Simon – Prolly the hottest woman in rock ‘n roll, IMHO
    Rare Earth
    Doobies
Glen Miller – alas, dead before I was born. War hero, too!

and everybody else at least once.

  325. You guys are going to get a laugh, but in 1976 (I think), I went to see Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes.

Ted was a character even then. Foul mouthed and pulled no punches. I like him. I’ve never heard a concert louder than when Nugent sang Cat Scratch Fever. The man can play some guitar too and the concert was a blast. Heard him about twenty years later and he kept screwing up chords. And it was still fun.

I almost forgot one of my favorites bands – certainly my favorite band of the late 80s.

    Van Halen

  326. I’m kind of like Muffy – I’d like to have seen Elvis too. Another beauty I had a crush on – Priscilla.

I’d include the Stones, the Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix. I’d even throw Michael Jackson in there as I heard the concerts were something else. No doubt the flake was an incredible entertainer.

  327. This man continues to expose how feckless Obama and his ruinous plans are in the funniest of ways.

Klavan’s Economic Smackdown: Paul Ryan vs. Barack Obama

  328. I just played softball against a team with at least 2 (maybe more) active NFL players. The worst part is we received only our second loss of the year even though they sucked pretty bad. Makes me wonder if maybe there really won’t be a season this year.

  329. R, how this formula for “poltical commentary ” clicks with you is beyond me. It’s all the same when it comes to criticism of anyone on the left or efforts to demonize the right. MSNBC seems to hold the patent on the crooked-mouthed, mocking, incredulous, sarcastic, nervous laughter routine. Seriuosly, the likes of this Muppet-looking dude on MSNBC is what you identify with?

  330. Muppet looking dude!

Rutherford, looks to me like this muppet was in the womb with Chaz Maddow, and somehow the hormones got switched but the tools didn’t. Well, maybe they did. Honestly, if I closed my eyes, it sounded like a hermaphrodite version of Butch. Where does MSNBC dredge up these enema sticks? What’s this ‘happy’ guy’s name? Charles? Charles what?

I happened to turn the channel back on last night and saw Sgt. Toad Schultz was back on the tube? When did that happen? So I begin asking myself, “If a tree fell on the Ed Schulz show, would anyone notice?”

Man, have you hitched your wagon to a ragtag band of losers. You ought to switch to CNN, or something. They’re libbie…but this bunch is so bad, so unprofessional and corrupt, I’d be embarrassed to admit I watch it.

Maybe it’s like cheap entertainment or voyeurism for you? Like Jerry Springer’s talk show? Rickie Lake?

  331. Gorilla,

It amazes me these Leftists like Rutherford and Pfesser will mock Sarah Palin, try to damage the woman personally including her kids, and give somebody so profoundly stupid and corrupt that really is in a position of political authority like San Fran Nan a pass. Tells me anybody Obama voter is capable of lying and deceit.

Consider this: This scumbag Pelosi mafioso has literally been stealing from the public coffers for years, including utilizing military planes for her own family’s use, and I read the other day, while the financial/real estate fiasco has taking the country down the tubes, her and her corrupt husband’s net worth has increased 62%!

And they talk about Sarah Palin being stupid? I dare either one of them to come up with one Palin idea or quote on par with this beauty:

  332. Sorry for the dearth of new material. I’m smack in the middle of move prep and I can barely remember my name(s). I’m gonna try to spit one out today (but then I’ve told myself that all week). 😦

On the bright side, depending on your perspective, once I’m in hotel hell, I’ll probably be writing daily and paying much more attention to the comments. I’ll need you guys to keep me entertained and stop me from losing my mind.

  333. Regarding Ted Cruz:

Before earning a Harvard law degree magna cum laude (and helping found the Harvard Latino Law Review)

Mmmm I want to see his transcripts immediately … after of course I see his papers proving he really is an American .. ya know “Cruz” … sounds illegal to me.

And what’s this about a Latino Law Review? What’s the need? Why’s he trying to separate himself from all us other red-blooded Americans? Sounds like racism to me!

    😆 😆 😆

  334. “Chaz Maddow.” 😆 😆

And every one of them is a variation of the same person. Wait a minute. . . you’re right. They are the same person — or at least the fraternal twin of Chaz or Keify.

For laughs, cruise Breitbart’s site. He’s linked up a bunch of the MSNBC evening clips showing their intellectual integrity when it comes to one of their own.

And you know, thinking about why the sound of this blather is appealing helps explain why the PDS. These people need Palin, or anyone else to caricature as dangerous, malevolent, and most importantly “dumb,” to feed their need to feel intellectually and morally superior. As their messiah is proven more and more a failure, I am confident we will see unbearable cognitive dissonance at work. Childlike really.

  335. Tigre, this was a rare instance of Breitbart being right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

As for Chris Hayes, one of the more mild-mannered lib commentators. If you can’t stomach him, you’ve got pretty thin skin.

  336. Mmmm I want to see his transcripts immediately … after of course I see his papers proving he really is an American .. ya know “Cruz” … sounds illegal to me.

As I’m sure you will. That is what honest people do with nothing to hide. Anyway you can get Zero, the Community College flunky, to release his Magna while you’re demanding it?

  337. These people need Palin, or anyone else to caricature as dangerous, malevolent, and most importantly “dumb,” to feed their need to feel intellectually and morally superior. As their messiah is proven more and more a failure,

After stringing these two sentences together, you have the nerve to talk about cognitive dissonance. 😆

Obama has in this forum on several occasions been called:
    “dangerous”
    “malevolent”
    and most definitely “dumb”.

Tigre, sometimes you’re too much dude. 🙂

  338. Doesn’t “Review” mean someone writes something? What was Obama’s legal review/? The Audacity of Hope by Bill Ayers with foreword by Reverend Jeremiah “Gawd Damn America” Wright?

  339. “Doesn’t “Review” mean someone writes something? What was Obama’s legal review/?”

If he was an editor of the law review, he wouldn’t have had to write a single thing.

I am the Chief Editor of my school’s peer-reviewed History journal. This year only 1 of our 8 editors submitted a paper that got approved. For editing they looked over the papers for things like passive voice, proper citations and, dotted “i”s and crossed “t”s. Some of them aren’t/weren’t even History majors.

All being the lead editor means is that he issued and oversaw everyone else in their editing assignments and made sure the journal was made fit to print. It doesn’t mean he did any editing or peer-reviewing. It doesn’t mean he did any writing. It doesn’t even mean that he is an expert on the law.

    Let’s see…..

Community organizer?….check (I help my wife run a booster club for local HS sports)

    Editor of a peer-reviewed journal?…..check

Hell, I even have diplomatic experience! *wink*

I’d better start saving up for a teleprompter……..

  340. “Tigre, this was a rare instance of Breitbart being right.”

And the typical instance of MSNBC being wrong.

“If you can’t stomach him, you’ve got pretty thin skin.”

It’s the gag reflex, not the thickness of my skin. 🙄

Obama has in this forum on several occasions been called:
    “dangerous”
    “malevolent”
    and most definitely “dumb”.

    That was you Rutherford. 😆

Actually, to steal a comment from BiW’s place:

“The Left’s 1st base is stupid.
    Reagan was stupid,
    Bush was stupid,
    Dole was stupid,
    Bush was stupid,
    Palin was stupid.
As predictable as the 2 brain cells that the left uses to think.”

Palin, the one you tried to lay blame upon for Giffords shooting who doesn’t hold office?

No wonder MSNBC appeals to you. Since you fail to see the distinction between criticism of Obama here and the “need” to doggedly attack Palin, you’re their target audience! 😆

  341. I’d vote you in over Obama if only you’d quit treating Israel as if they are on an even footing with savage, corrupt, lying stink beard scum. Wait a minute, so does Obama. Fine, you got my vote. I’m writing you in.

  342. Huck, this much is clear.

With your “wealth of experience,” I guarantee if you make it to the nomination, and your only opponent is Barack O”Bama, you are guaranteed at least one vote from Oklahoma (you could be Fidel Castro in Oklahoma and beat Barack O’Bama). I think I feel safe in saying if the Rutherford Lawson blog were the total demographic, you would win the Presidential nomination going away; a rout; a historical ass kicking 😉

Huck, one warning though, and I hate to rain on your party.

I don’t think you could even come remotely close to O’Bama’s level of incompetence and egomania. It’s takes a very special of level of talent and narcissism, teleprompter or no teleprompter, to accomplish the magnitude of ineptness and stupidity O”Bama has demonstrated in 30 months and tell the American people prosperity is right around the corner.

Now, Yeller Dawg on the other hand….

  343. Gorilla,

I looked at that asset sheet on Nancy and its squeaky clean. Just successful.

I’ve heard Nancy’s husband’s portfolio is riddled with inside information plays tied to future legislation but I can’t prove it.

  344. Cataracts are easy.

I had the surgery on both eyes two years ago. I now see better than I ever did (I can read license plates three cars ahead of me when I’m not tired), although to see antything within about a foot of my face, I HAVE to have reading glasses because the artificial lens implants in my eyes are a fixed focal length. I also now see in a broader spectrum of light than most people do, so I actually see colors better than most people.

A few minutes under the knife, back the next day, healed within a week.

Although if she can’t see out of it, I’m not sure why she would consider the surgery.

    Sorry to hear it, man.

  345. “It amazes me these Leftists like Rutherford and Pfesser”

    I’m not a leftist.

“try to damage the woman personally including her kids,”

Nobody has tried to damage her kids.

“and give somebody so profoundly stupid and corrupt that really is in a position of political authority like San Fran Nan a pass. Tells me anybody Obama voter is capable of lying and deceit.”

    a) Nobody is giving Pelosi a pass. I don’t think I have ever remarked on Pelosi, have i?

    b) ANYBODY is capable of lying and deceit. Given your post, which appears to be just stuff you made up, your quickest route to finding one of those people is the mirror.

  346. “Hey Pfesser, do you realize if Mama Cass had just given that sandwich to Karen Carpenter they might both be alive today? ”

    ROTFLMAO!

I was grief stricken when Karen died, all the more so by the fact she starved herself to death. If you ever heard that voice live, you would instantly be in love.

  347. “It amazes me these Leftists like Rutherford and Pfesser”

    I’m not a leftist.

😆 Pfesser, you’re so easy to bait. I don’t think you’re a lefist like Rutherford. I just wanted to nail your foot to the floor and watch you hop around.

“try to damage the woman personally including her kids,”

Nobody has tried to damage her kids.

I think you would damage Palin through her kids if you could. And would you like me to go drag a few of your quotes from Fat Grannies about Bristol? Hmmm…

Nobody is giving Pelosi a pass. I don’t think I have ever remarked on Pelosi, have i?

I was simply pointing out the quality of women you never make mention and let slide, including at least 50 of the dumbest women on the planet in the Dimocratic party, starting with Nancy Pelosi. Sarah Palin isn’t even on the same plane as that nitwit, even if she were as stupid as you’d like the rest of us to believe.

I was tacitly pointing out the selective memory and double standards you have applied here. 😉

  348. “Nobody has tried to damage her kids.”

Rutherford claimed her young teen daughter is a mother. That isn’t damaging?

Rutherford claimed her son is a bastard from another mother and maybe another father. That isn’t damaging?

I personally think that the Palin haters of the world hate the entire family, and will stop at literally nothing to drag every single one of them down as low they they can get them. Its an obsession.

  349. A boring thought, but any one notice the price of raspberries has absolutely tanked in the stores?

I’ve always thought the price for the one damn fruit I can just wander outside and pick in the wild was ridiculously expensive.

The plant is practically a pest around these parts.

Yet, 5 bucks for essentially a handful or two.

Now, all of sudden, the things are literally ten times cheaper. Somebody must have flooded the market with raspberries.

Blueberries have come way down in price too.

  350. Rabbit. 😆 The things you notice tickle me. And I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s eye. I was hoping she would regain at least partial vision.

I think they jacked the price of watermelon, tomatoes and onions up to make up for it. I haven’t priced strawberries, but the blueberries and blackberries are still expensive. I remember when they used to practically give tomatoes and watermelons away around here. Not any more.

And I paid $1.03 for a white onion the other night when I bought some steak to grill for myself.

I bought 4 petite sirloins for cheaper than I can buy a fancy hamburger at Walmart. And they were damn good too.

  351. Dude….your not going to believe this…..but I saw Watermelons for twice the rip off price then they normally are BECAUSE they have the seeds in them. Can you believe that shit?

I do have to admit, I remember the watermelon with seeds being much better.

  352. Tex, next time you go to the store, I bet you will find blackberries and/or raspberries at least 50% off. Unless this thing is regional.

  353. “Rutherford claimed her young teen daughter is a mother. That isn’t damaging?”

I didn’t see that post; it is a recital of a common belief concerning Trig’s origin, but not given much credence by anybody in the know. Damaging? Yes. Appropriate? No.

“Rutherford claimed her son is a bastard from another mother and maybe another father. That isn’t damaging?”

    No. Only to the mother.

“I personally think that the Palin haters of the world hate the entire family, and will stop at literally nothing to drag every single one of them down as low they they can get them. Its an obsession.”

I can’t speak for anyone else. I believe Sarah Palin is emblematic of a severe problem with the process of picking candidates for the highest offices in the land. Unfortunately her many and varied shortcomings must be exposed in order to also expose that process to scrutiny. If it could be done another way, I would be in favor of it.

For me it’s two things: the process must be revamped so that this kind of intellectual cripple never again has the opportunity to occupy high office. Secondly, her fraud and misconduct must be exposed in order that SHE PERSONALLY never has the opportunity to occupy high office.

  354. For me it’s two things: the process must be revamped so that this kind of intellectual cripple never again has the opportunity to occupy high office. Secondly, her fraud and misconduct must be exposed in order that SHE PERSONALLY never has the opportunity to occupy high office.

I hope this once again demonstrates Pfesser why I think you’re a closet liberal. You call Palin an intellectual cripple. Okay. I don’t agree – I think it’s simply the folksy demeanor, and that’s part of her game. At the very least Palin is clever enough to manipulate the “intellectual” media and “brilliant” Obama like no one’s business. But let’s assume you are right. Palin is a fatuous moron.

What the hell do you call Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, all of whom do hold office at the very highest levels? Where’s you constant berating of them, the Wild Toad Rides, the child pejorative? I’ll guarantee you Palin is smarter than the three I just mentioned. Even Barack Obama has demonstrated he’s nothing but a talking parrot on a cue card.

I think Joe Biden is the dumbest man in Congress bar none and his daughter is a frickin’ coke head – a complete screw up. Nancy Pelosi is the proverbial deer in the headlights. She even looks stupid.

You don’t seem to be sweating bullets that Jackoff Joe is one breath from the White House, or that Fancy Nancy was two steps for two years.

  355. Why don’t you attack the intellectual cripple…I don’t know…intellectually?
What a bunch of bull. The only way to stop her is to spread total unsubstantiated shit that her husband should beat your ass over.

  356. Rabbit,

This is exactly why I would never even give a moment’s thought to being a politician. Some douche bag like Andrew Sullivan would tell some egregious lie of the worst nature about my daughters or my wife, and I would be the headline news for mistaking Sullivan’s chrome dome for a tent stake.

“Congressional Candidate Tex Taylor was arrested on live TV and charged with first degree murder charges today for hammering Andrew Sullivan’s head into the CNN debate table with an aluminum Louisville Slugger. Taylor appeared to be wearing what amounted to be a double latex body condom over his suit. Sullivan had made accusations of Taylor’s wife….blah blah blah love child.

    I admire Todd Palin’s restraint.

  357. I can’t speak for anyone else. I believe know Sarah Palin Barry Sotero/Barack Hussien Obama is emblematic of a severe problem with the process of picking candidates for the highest offices in the land. Unfortunately her his many and varied shortcomings must be exposed in order to also expose that process to scrutiny. If it could be done another way, I would be in favor of it. More time spent f**king up the job and less time on the links, as well as Sheriff Slo-Joe putting out a hit on all the rest of his teleprompters should be a good start.

For me it’s two things: the process must be revamped so that this kind of intellectual cripple never again has the opportunity to occupy high office. Secondly, her his fraud and misconduct (proof of this breathless assertion?) corruption, patronage, and mendacity toward the American people must be exposed in order that SHE HE PERSONALLY never has the opportunity to occupy high office again.

  358. Why don’t you attack the intellectual cripple…I don’t know…intellectually?
What a bunch of bull. The only way to stop her is to spread total unsubstantiated shit that her husband should beat your ass over.

    Because.

    They.

    Can’t.

Think about it. We’re talking about people who are incensed that the rest of the country doesn’t accept at face value their own intellectual superiority that they crow about at every opportunity, let alone the implied ability to mystically divine Mrs. Palin’s own intellectual acumen. She’s dumb because they say she’s dumb, and frankly, you aren’t intellectually entitled to ask them for proof of their unproven hypothesis, peasant. You need to shut up, and just accept what they, your superiors, tell you.

  359. BIC 😆

I had never heard Biden make that statement. So that’s where this IQ story started? Too good!

In a way, I am grateful Biden has had the opportunity to be exposed for the dishonest fraud he has always been. Now everyone knows it. I’ve disdained that SOB since the Bork fiasco. Who are this joke’s connections? This moron couldn’t have reached any level on his own.

I uncovered this while trying to discover Joe’s connections. Here’s a little inside scoop about how Joe likes to “stiff” people – we already know as far as charity, he’s a cheap SOB.

    http://sunsetblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/joe-biden-dishonest-man-of-little.html

And the bankrupt state of Delaware should be ashamed for foisting this reprehensible scumbag and failure on the public.

  360. Back to raspberries and onions!
word of the day = Four bucks
First we had Starbucks which = four bucks. Now we have grocery stores picking up on the image. Milk = four bucks, bread = four bucks, 2 for one = four bucks. Gas stations are following with a galleon of gas = four bucks. Anyone see a trend here?
Wonder what would happen if Starbucks = five bucks! Ah, don’t you just love this economy all priced on a cup of coffee 🙂

  361. “She’s dumb because they say she’s dumb, and frankly, you aren’t intellectually entitled to ask them for proof of their unproven hypothesis, peasant.”

You have to be f’in shitting me. That is a joke, right? Do you ever watch TV when SP is asked the simplest question? Pure word salad. (Then of course, it was a ‘gotcha question.) Right.

This poor girl has about three neurons: one infected, one infarcted, one inhibitory. (That’s a medical insult.) All you have to do to pick up on it is just watch her – and goddamn it – LISTEN to her. It doesn’t take a Nobel laureate to pick up that Sarah Palin is a dolt, and that’s an insult to dolts everywhere.

  362. All you have to do to pick up on it is just watch her – and goddamn it – LISTEN to her.

Without an example no less. M’kay. More taking your word for it…just like the “she couldn’t even competently run a town in Alaska” meme…no proof, just your say so.

Even if I took you at face value…

You mean like Nancy Pelosi’s little microphoneside chats like “You’ll have to pass it to see what’s in it.” Or her pointless (except for the one on the top of her head) homily about “The Word”?

Or maybe John Conyer’s finding authority for the health care bill in “the good and plenty ” clause?

Hank Johnson’s inspired remarks about the words he heard from Joe Wilson, even though he didn’t say them? Or his concerns about capsizing Guam?
Or Maxine Waters? Or Bernice Johnson?

Or the lengthy record of Joe Biden, the senator from WTF?

You want to shut the door on Palin, but you don’t seem to have quite the same standards applied to Granny Rictus, Sheriff Joe, or the Affirmative Action Congresscritters.

  363. Do you ever watch TV when SP is asked the simplest question?

I don’t believe anybody here is calling Sarah Palin a atomic physicist – in fact, I haven’t read from anyone here who clearly believes Sarah Palin a great Republican candidate for Presidency. IMO, Palin is basically “normal”, with uncanny political instincts. Some of our most successful politicians have been “normal”, and two supposed geniuses (Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama) have been the worst, most unsuccessful leaders of recent U.S. record.

I only remember two major advertised Palin “gaffes”, which the creator of the cliched ‘The Bush Doctrine’ said Charles Gibson got wrong. The other supposed example of Palin’s stupidity was more irritation with Princess Katie Couric and her stupid questioning – the smart assed response far more polite than I would have given that phony, untalented twit who managed to put CBS in last place of network news. Let’s just say Palin’s recent track record is a lot more successful than Perky’s track record.

You keep quoting this I.T. hack that wrote a book about his grievances of Palin, Pfesser. I saw him on FOX and the guy was an absolute, tongue-tied, chronic lip licker and disheveled clown – you’d have to really stretch the definition of credibility to believe this slug truthful and believable, seeking to protect the public, and not just seeking personal notoriety. We’ve got a couple of amateurs hacks that nosedived the McCain campaign into the dust, that apparently have a real problem with Sarah Palin. They have now moved on to low ranked cable channels as commentators like Eliot Spitzer. They too have pretty much been exposed as disgruntled and disgraced losers. One, Rutherford loves – that ought to tell you her proclivity for judging Republican talent. 🙂

So you’re going to have to provide some specific examples Doctor of Palin’s stupidity if you’re going to play the ‘real’ game. I suspect a large part of your problem with Palin is her advertised faith being you believe anyone believing in God and voicing as much is an idiot, and the fact Palin is openly anti-abortion, where you apparently a huge fan of eugenicist Margaret Sanger.

Again, both BIC and I have now provided numerous examples documenting the stupidity of the people you’ve supported in the past – and yes, an Obama vote was a vote for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Joe Biden. If you were cautious enough to measure McCain’s chances of cancer and longevity, surely you were also measuring who Zero would be surrounded if he won. We’ve documented in some detail now Biden, Reid and Pelosi’s glaring inadequacies, profound stupidity, abuse of authority and corruption, with the real possibility of at least one reaching Presidency.

So far, your arguments so far have been platitudes and opinions that parallel what we hear nightly on MSNBC with their dozens of viewers.

I got the medical insult. 😉 Cute, which I shall add to my repertoire.

  364. How Miserable? Index Says the Worst in 28 Years

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/43441924

Would this headline fall under “Yes We Can”, “We are the Generation We Have Been Waiting For!”, or “Hope & Change”?

Rutherford? Bet you’re pretty proud of those Styrofoam Greek Columns with Apollo Obama flexing his muscles genius on stage about now, ‘ey?

  365. I can’t take credit for the Karen Carpenter/Mama Cass joke. I heard it somewhere years ago from where I don’t remember.

As for the Carpenters, some songs really good, others simply make me want to vomit. “Rainy Days and Mondays” is my favorite by them (written by Paul Williams, one helluva songwriter even if he does look like an elf). On the other hand, they’ve got one song with a title like “Calling Occupants of Interplanetery Craft” where some Martian sings “we are your friends”. Like I said, I have several vomit stained articles of clothing because of that song alone.

“Top of the World” is on the borderline with a real corny feel. That is until Shonen Knife got a hold of it!!!!! This mofo rocks!!!!

  366. Raji,

Ah, don’t you just love this economy all priced on a cup of coffee

Perhaps the most insightful comment I’ve read here in a long time. 🙂

I think Raji may have discovered Obama’s economic machinations – we’ve been going about this the wrong way all along. We’ve been worrying about trillions of debt, sky high unemployment, huge crude price spikes, fiscal calamity, global unrest, nuclear war with Iran…

Somehow, someway, we’ve to to bring down the price of coffee guys…

If I ever campaign for office, I’m going with Dunkin Donuts policy. Java Daves is my alternative strategy.

  367. She’s dumb because they say she’s dumb

No, she’s dumb for saying Paul Revere was riding around warning the British of their imminent ass kicking while ringing a bell. And you’re equally dumb for defending her intellect.

When you say “lay off the family and the kids” I can understand and respect that approach even though I do give into the dark side now and then. But when you sit there and try to tell me Sarah Palin is the political strategist, policy wonk and historical expert then you’re simply pissing on my shoes and telling me it’s raining. 👿

  368. “Without an example no less. M’kay. More taking your word for it…just like the “she couldn’t even competently run a town in Alaska” meme…no proof, just your say so.”

    Don’t forget the Alaskan bloggers!

  369. “Without an example no less. M’kay. More taking your word for it…just like the “she couldn’t even competently run a town in Alaska” meme…no proof, just your say so.”

I did not say anything about running a town. Nothing. Nada. Let’s try to get back on track here.

Re: Palin’s scattered brain: A specific example is not required. Just listen to ANY – ANY interview with her. Google up any question and answer session. I can’t believe you are really following this approach – you are making this too easy for me. There is no need to cherry-pick, just pick anything. She is a board certified goofy-ass.

re: Pelosi, Conyers, Waters, Johnson. Nice try at the red herring. I am not talking about any of them, although none is “much force” as my mother used to say. I am talking about Snowdrift Snooki. Period.

  370. I’ve listened to Palin interviews Pfesser. Many of them. You can’t hardly get away from them because all the mange dogs of the press are trying to peak up her skirt.

Besides the folksy mannerisms, I’m not hearing what you are hearing. She’s a far sight smarter than Joe Biden. And you apparently have no problem with that corrupt blowhard and idiot being one heart beat from President. Biden is so bad, even the failing Obama Admin has hidden him public view.

A slobbering love fest with and Palin’s open admission of faith. That’s why you hate Sarah Palin, Pfesser – hostility toward religion. And don’t give us this horseshit about red herring. 😡 Using Biden as example is not only not a red herring, it’s a better example than you used of having the finger on the button and being incompetent. Palin is a possibility; Biden is reality.

    —-

As far as Rutherford providing sound personal judgment about talent, he though Anthony Weiner and Claire McCaskill were top notch. 😆 Real sluggers.

I listened to Claire McCaskill last night, and she reminded me of a bad public school instructor. She went on and on about if tax cuts for the “rich” really worked to increase employment, then we should have had millions of jobs created during the Bush regime.

Hey Claire Dumbass – we were at 4.4% unemployment during the Bush Administration, even if you’re too stupid to remember back five years. I’m not. I’m going to get on one of these Frank Luntz panels and rip some of these leftist idiots a new one on national TV given the chance.

McCaskill was trying like hell to convince people she was “a moderate.” Why didn’t you panel members remind her of ObamaCare? Dammit people, when you get a chance to attack these self-serving fools, don’t miss your chance. Humiliate them, given the opportunity.

  371. And talking about her is all you are doing. You aren’t lifting a finger to prove jack shit.

Which is so typical with attacks on Palin. All talk…no substance.

  372. “Damn straight Huck. No proof and a bunch of hearsay…”

And the “I don’t need to back up my shit..just Google it” replies that are worthy of yellowdog.

  373. we were at 4.4% unemployment during the Bush Administration

There is no doubt that those who defend the imbecile Palin are imbeciles themselves. We were NOT at 4.4% unemployment at the end of the Bush Administration. If you count the “Bush administration” as January 20th 2001 then yes, our country was in real peachy shape. Look at the Bush administration on January 19, 2009 — not so much.

Stop embarrassing yourself Tex and just admit, this is a media personality who was good at the not-so-taxing job of running a state (Alaska) that no one ever thinks about … and even at that job, she generated so much scrutiny and ill will that she had to resign from office. So Tex, for all that is good, sane and holy in this beloved country of ours …. please man …. STOP IT!

  374. None of you need to Google sh*t. I already documented one major instance of rank stupidity … two words … Paul Revere. You all conveniently skipped over that comment. That’s just a specific instance.

In more general terms that don’t need documentation but just good hearing (thank you Pfesser) listen to the damn woman. Tex, if your beautiful smart daughter talked like Palin you’d sh*t your pants and you KNOW it. The woman uses 25 words to say what could be said in 5 and in so doing she demolishes whatever point she was trying to make. Someone taught her the MORE you talk the smarter you sound. WRONG.

Now leave me the hell alone while I go write a new post! 🙂

  375. None of you need to Google sh*t. I already documented one major instance of rank stupidity … two words … Paul Revere. You all conveniently skipped over that comment. That’s just a specific instance.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ac/20110606/us_ac/8596661_sarah_palin_paul_revere_and_the_historychallenged_media_1

Uh-oh. Looks like someone forgot to wipe his face off when he extracted it from his ass.

    http://legalinsurrection.com/2011/06/suffolk-univ-history-prof-palin-right-about-paul-revere/

Do you take salt with your crow?

  376. More sauce for the goose.

    http://legalinsurrection.com/2011/06/so-now-all-these-people-will-apologize-to-sarah-palin-about-paul-revere-right/

Don’t worry, R. I won’t be looking for your apology to Palin anytime soon. I know that your PDS is serious enough to put you into catetonic shutdown were you to attempt it. I’ll settle for an acknowledgement that her statements were consistent with Revere’s own words on the matter and an apology to Tex for your lemming-like “analysis”.

  377. Nice try at the red herring.

    Not. Even. Close.

Consider your breathlessly intoned standard about preventing a tragedy on par with embracing the idiocracy that you don’t seem to realize that you already have:

For me it’s two things: the process must be revamped so that this kind of intellectual cripple never again has the opportunity to occupy high office.

    Odd, that.

I don’t hear your constant attacks and criticisms of the real intellectual cripples already occupying high office.

What's on your mind?
