Republicans Drink the Tea and Embrace the Hatred and Ignorance

I don’t have to write much tonight. The images and sound bites speak for themselves. The House Minority Leader stands in front of the latest Tea Party gathering in Washington and tacitly gives his support for distasteful and hateful messages. This was no ordinary Tea Party. This one was not instigated by right-wing think tanks or Glenn Beck. This one was organized by an elected official, a woman with whom we trust the important task of governing our nation, Michele Bachmann. Ms. Bachmann has gone from a punch line to a dangerous instigator as she encourages the crowd to walk the halls of Congress and confront supporters of health care reform, to look at them “in the whites of their eyes” in her words. Fighting words. Fighting words coming from an elected official who is sworn to uphold our Constitution and protect the citizens of this country. Instead, she instigates discontent and discord.

Usually, my focus on this movement centers around its sheer stupidity and ignorance. This was on full display as John Boehner, the House Minority Leader waved what he called the Constitution and then quoted from the Declaration of Independence:

Then as the “press conference” neared its end, Representative Bachmann gave the crowd its marching orders, inciting disruption within the Capitol:

But ignorance wasn’t the only thing on display today. Once again, we had a full dose of hatred, the most jarring example of which was this protest sign, which read:

“National Socialist Health Care, Dachau Germany 1945”.

holocaust health care

This is your Republican Party, ladies and gentlemen. This is what John Boehner condones by his presence at this rally. This is what your Congressmen and women celebrate while people die from lack of health care, die defending our country overseas, and lose their homes because they can’t find a job. While we twist in the wind, this is what your Congress is spending their time on. Standing in front of the Capitol egging on a hate rally.

To paraphrase the attorney at the McCarthy hearings of the 1950’s, at long last have we lost all sense of decency?

Respectfully,
Rutherford

  1. To borrow from a great one…

Except the problem is that voting for Obama a year ago was a fashion statement, much like it was once a fad to buy Beanie Babies, pet rocks and Cabbage Patch Kids. But instead of ending up with a ridiculous dust-collector at the bottom of your closet, the Obama fad leaves you with higher taxes, a reduced retirement fund, no job and a one-year wait for an MRI.

Who is twisting in the wind again? Besides the soldiers dying on the battlefield while Obama waits on election results in New Jersey? Hmmm?

    —————————————————

“In [McDonnell’s master’s thesis], he described women having jobs as detrimental to the family, called legalized use of contraception illogical, pushed to make divorce more difficult, and insisted government should favor married couples over, quote, ‘cohabitators, homosexuals or fornicators.’ Wow. When did he write this? 1875? No, 1989. Wow, 1989.

    “Goodbye, Mr. McDonnell.”

    — MSNBC, Aug. 31, 2009, Keith Olbermann on Robert F. McDonnell, Republican candidate for governor of Virginia

    WAY TO GO KEITH BABY!

    😆 😆 😆

  2. Great Post! I think the video and audio alone is very telling. And to the previous comment… Yes Obama in many ways was a trend but one can make that same argument for Sarah Palin. She was a fad, the only difference is she was a fad the faded fast, kind of like mullets & platform shoes. She in my opinion is a huge factor in McCain loosing the presidential race. So if you want to blame anyone for Obama, blame Palin or perhaps the 8 years of Bush. LOVE THE BLOG…TAKE CARE!

  3. If you bothered to read my articles, you’d know that I think one reason Deeds lost the race was that dumbass attack on McDonnell’s 1989 master’s thesis.

And your point is? There is some moral equivalency between holding a man’s own words against him and comparing health care reform to the slaughter of millions of Jews, Jehovah’s Witnesses, disabled and homosexuals? Yeah, I so get it. 🙄

  4. Getmobetter, welcome to the blog and many thanks for your comment! Sarah has many of my readers under her spell so your dead-on comments will fall on deaf ears among many here.

I never dreamed I would say this but I think Bachmann is becoming far more dangerous than Palin.

  5. Boehner claimed that the health insurance reform bill was the greatest threat to our freedom in the 19 years he’s been in Washington. You’d think after 19 years he’d know the difference between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

  6. I don’t know GETMOBETTER…you related to Densico?

What exactly did Palin loose again? Her shoelaces, her necklace, or her gun?

  7. The flag of the Jews all stacked up on each other dead – I find very offensive. At the very best, fear-based hyperbolic divisive politics.

  8. R, I was at the rally yesterday.

What rabble rousing it was! I mean, how dare they quote the founding documents and founding fathers! Such audacity!

How dare they question the Dems on a bill that they (Dems) refuse to honestly engage on?

I saw nothing- NOTHING- racist (which is amazing because according to the left, anyone against the Administration is obviously racist), sexist (again, the lefts extrapolation of being against Pelosi) or violent.

Gerry Connolly-D (VA 11th District) told CONSTITUENTS who went to see him that it was a federal crime to interfere with him. What?! THAT SON OF A BITCH IS MY CONGRESSMAN- HE WORKS FOR ME. This is where you are completely and absolutely wrong. Connolly won’t have Town halls now, he only does them via teleconference, where he can drop inconvienent calls.

You guys have been disingenuous on this issue from the get-go. You’re not being honest with the American people, you’re not honoring any of the rhetoric you espoused in the campaign about bipartisanship and you are intentionally being deceitful on what the bill will and will not do.

You want to complain about the GOP being taken over by the right wing, who cares? The GOP isn’t in power and can’t do anything to stop the Dem agenda. How about you talk about how the Dems have been hijacked by the left wing fringe? The people sound off and you ignore them, or worse yet, insult and degrade them as freaks and aborations.

Here’s the dirty little secret you refuse to acknowledge- these rallies are the fringe, but are the mainstream. I saw every stripe and color, every demographic was represented from young adults to the elderly, from black to white, from rich to poor. These people aren’t the fringe, and they’re tired of folks like you who expect us to simply shut up and color because you want to bankrupt the country.

Dangerous? You and your party’s policies are what is dangerous.

  9. Does Bohner know there are 57 states?

“Then as the “press conference” neared its end, Representative Bachmann gave the crowd its marching orders, inciting disruption within the Capitol:”

My God , how evil of them

  10. “at long last have we lost all sense of decency?”

Like regulating the life of the American people? These marxists in Congress havent shown any decency to the American people so screw them.

  11. “2012″ Filmmaker Scrapped Mecca Destruction Scene, Destroyed Brazil’s “Christ the Redeemer” Instead
    November 5, 2009 by creeping

Roland Emmerich has admitted that he feared a fatwa would be placed on him if he filmed a scrapped scene for 2012.

The filmmaker is well known for decimating famed landmarks on movies including The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day. He stated that while he decided to destroy the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro because he is “against organised religion”, he was fearful of the Islamic religious decree for a sequence that was planned but not shot.

The 53-year-old wanted to demolish the Kaaba, which is a cube-shaped building at the heart of Mecca and is the centre of prayers and the Islamic Hajj pilgrimage.

He told Sci-Fi Wire: “Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit. But my co-writer Harald said I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie. And he was right. We have to all in the Western world think about this.

“You can actually let Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is.

“So it’s just something which I kind of didn’t [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out.”

Given the massacre at Fort Hood, one can understand his FEAR. Is his FEAR of islam justified?

  12. Elric, using the death of 12 soldiers that risk their lives for YOU as a political wand to “snicker” is pathetic and sad.

  13. But ignorance wasn’t the only thing on display today. Once again, we had a full dose of hatred, the most jarring example of which was this protest sign, which read:

White House to Democrats: ‘Punch back twice as hard’

    Hmmmm…. once again different standards

  14. Gorilla,

Unemployment may have hit 10.2%, but it is Bush’s fault. Remember, we are still waiting for the pork, theft, and giveaways stimulus to “kick in”.

    /Snark

  15. I didn’t have time last night to adequately respond to the appropriately named GetMo last night.

So you think Sarah Palin cost John McCain the election, do you? Maybe you can answer a couple of questions for me then about her passing fad.

    (1) Why was McCain trailing in the polls badly, then after the RNC election for a time before the economy tanked, actually led Bomba immediately following the Sarah Palin speech.

    (2) Why is her current book number 1 on the bestseller lists?

    (3) Why is Harpo, I mean Oprah having her on as guest?

    and most importantly:

    (4) Why are folks like you, Rutherford, and a host of millions of other rubes from the left still obsessed with her?

No, Paris Hilton was a fad. Joe Biden was a nanosecond fad before people realized how incredibly brain dead he is. John Kerry was a fad. 😉

  16. I don’t know GETMOBETTER…you related to Densico?

Wow, imagine there are bloggers you’ve never heard of. By the way, you think we’re all related. 😉 Well of course, you’re right. If we go back far enough Tex, you and I probably have a common ancestor. 😯

Getmobetter is of course right. After the initial novelty of the Palin nomination, she opened her mouth and the game was lost. We owe Katie Couric huge buckets of gratitude for revealing the plastic Barbie doll for what she was.

  17. Al-Rutherford Hasan,

Yet, Sarah Palin is still far more popular than Pixie Katie who now resides at the bottom of the news rankings, and has on occasion even had her audience surpassed in number by someone called FOX News. 🙂

    Ain’t that a shame???

  18. Well of course, you’re right. If we go back far enough Tex, you and I probably have a common ancestor.

Al Rutherford, it pains me to have acknowledge that fact. It pains me worse to have to acknowledge that fact about Densico too – let us hope at was at about the level of the amoeba, which unfortunately many “progressives”, while developing limbs and something resembling a head, nonetheless still find themselves at the bottom of the pond.

  19. R, I was at the rally yesterday….

Wow, G, I gave you more credit than to believe you’d respond to a dog whistle blown by Michele Bachmann.

Hey I love a good quote from our founding fathers as much as the next guy but when you wave the Constitution and quote from the DoI, you start to lose some credibility in my book.

Mmmmm, you saw all stripes at the rally heh? I guess that dark brown skin doesn’t show up too well on television then huh? Or were they forced to stay in the back of the bus crowd?

Since you were there, G, how much effort did you make to punch the Holocaust sign guy in the f*cking face and tell him to go home so that your legitimate concerns could be heard without getting drowned out by hate? Oh yeah, I guess my eyes deceived me. What I thought was a guy holding a sign with Jewish corpses was actually a black guy. Damn how those TV cameras distort sh*t. 😉

  20. Hmmmm…..an “American” jihadist mows down 12 of his American “brothers” in cold blood on US soil and we get another meaningless post.

One of the many tragedies of Fort Hood was how it took media attention away from the shameful display at the Capitol. Michele Bachmann should be censured for inciting unrest but seeing how the House Minority Lead gave the gathering his blessing, I don’t see that happening any time soon.

  21. UN ‘Defamation’ Resolution Contains Only One Religion

But of course. It was drafted by the OIC. It’s up to the UN to re-word the resolution so it applies broadly.

  22. I heard it took Al Bama 2:30 to even mention Ft. Hood at the Pow Wow yesterday. Obama, peace be with him, must learn to read faster….

  23. Why was Hasan still in the Army?
posted at 9:30 am on November 6, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

About three hours ago, the AP finally joined the Washington Post and some other national news organizations in reporting the “troubling portrait” of Nidal Malik Hasan, the man believed responsible for 13 deaths and dozens of wounded at the world’s largest army base. In hearing these details, many people wonder why the Army had ordered Hasan into a war zone — and perhaps why Hasan remained in the military at all:

For six years before reporting for duty at Fort Hood, Texas, in July, the 39-year-old Army major worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center pursuing his career in psychiatry, as an intern, a resident and, last year, a fellow in disaster and preventive psychiatry. He received his medical degree from the military’s Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001.

While an intern at Walter Reed, Hasan had some “difficulties” that required counseling and extra supervision, said Dr. Thomas Grieger, who was the training director at the time. …

At least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades.

They had not determined for certain whether Hasan is the author of the posting, and a formal investigation had not been opened before the shooting, said law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case. …

On a form filled out by those seeking spouses through a program at the mosque, Hasan listed his birthplace as Arlington, Va., but his nationality as Palestinian, Khan said.

“I don’t know why he listed Palestinian,” Khan said, “He was not born in Palestine.”

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/why-was-hasan-still-in-the-army/

Short answer. We live in a politically correct society and no one wants to be called a “racist” or “islamophobe” for questioning a muslims loyalty.

Lets give a shout out to political correctness and multiculturalism!!!!

  24. Elric,

    Tex,

Notice the drones dont talk about the Fort Hood massacre and Thuggy’s shameful speech afterwards?

As long as brave men like Gorilla and Curator’s son are willing to defend the droid’s politically correct nature by preventing their head being removed from their torso, rest assured the appeasing nature run amok will continue.

Now you know why I think we should send a “Welcome to Middlebury, CT” doormat to the Taliban. 😛

  25. Elric, I’ve said more than once that I consider Grayson more flash than substance. However, you have to be brain dead to think that Grayson’s use of the phrase “a holocaust” is equivalent to the Tea Party crowd saying that health care REFORM harkens back to THE HOLOCAUST. Two very different things.

  26. Fort Hood shooter was member of Homeland Security Panel advising Obama

Of course. Why not? He was a “moderate.” Until he wasn’t.

“Nidal Hasan: Ft. Hood Shooter Participated in Homeland Security Disaster Preparation,” from Gawker, November 6 (thanks to Mary Belle):

The gunman who killed 12 people today at Ft. Hood appears, based on current media reports, to be Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan who was listed as a participant in a Homeland Security Policy Institute’s presidential transition task force last year.

The task force was not officially affiliated with the White House. It was a project of the Homeland Security Policy Institute, an independent thinktank housed at George Washington University, aimed at drafting policy recommendations for the incoming Obama administration.

According to the task force’s May 2009 report [pdf], a “Nidal Hasan” from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine was a task force event participant. Other participants included Senate and House staffers, Department of Homeland Security officials, Defense Department officials, and reporters for Politico, the Washington Post, and the London Times….

    Way to pick them al-Thuggy

Since I’m not sure MoBetter will be a regular here, I’ll answer on her behalf.

    1) Palin’s introduction to the world was seismic, no doubt about it. The potential to have the first female VP, a very big deal and deservedly so. Once she opened her mouth, it was over.

    2) The same reason why folks watch The Jerry Springer Show.

    3) One word — ratings … corollary to point 2 … competing with Jerry Springer.

    Got any more questions? 🙂

  28. Fort Hood jihad shooter handed out Korans the morning of his attack

He handed out Korans? But didn’t what he read in the Book of Peace make him think that he shouldn’t go through with the massacre?

Or maybe he read that Paradise was guaranteed to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah (9:111), and took that seriously.

Note also that he affected Islamic clothing — as did another “moderate,” Maher Hawash, before the latter embarked upon his jihad.

“Police raid shooting suspect’s Killeen apartment,” by Victor O’Brien for the Killeen Daily Herald, November 6 (thanks to Ernest):

Bell County SWAT teams barricaded and evacuated a downtown Killeen apartment complex where Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan lived before authorities say he killed 13 people and injured 30 more during a massacre at Fort Hood Thursday….

In the morning, neighbors said Hasan handed Qurans and donated his furniture to anyone who would take it.

Neighbors described Hasan as a quiet man who began wearing “Arabic clothing” in recent weeks. Edward Windsor, a neighbor, never suspected Hasan was in the Army. Hasan’s rank surprised Windsor who would never have imagined an officer with a rank of major would have lived in an apartment that rents for $350 and houses soldiers ranked as private first class….

    Gets better and better

  29. Once she opened her mouth, it was over.

😆 The man of last resort and 10.2% unemployment. Life must be miserable for a lib right now, living on the edge and all.

I think you got it backwards there sport. It was after the naturally beautiful (a quality foreign to lib women) Ms. Palin opened her mouth at the RNC that she became popular. Or have you forgotten that simple fact. Like 25% election swings having nothing to do with Al-Bomba?

I noticed that Ms. Bachmann isn’t too bad looking either. Must drive the hags and lava faces from the left crazy with rage…

  30. European liberals are in shock over Barack Obama’s failures

By Nile Gardiner World Last updated: November 6th, 2009

It is no coincidence that Barack Obama held a key campaign rally last year in front of hundreds of thousands of adoring Germans, as though he were running for Mayor of Berlin. Obama remains in many ways a quintessentially European politician, a firm believer in big government, large-scale state intervention, social liberalism, supranational institutions, and the projection of soft power abroad. His political philosophy is frequently more attuned to Brussels or Strasbourg than it is to Washington.

    http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100015908/european-liberals-are-in-shock-over-barack-obamas-failures/

    Eurabians can have al-Thuggy

  31. Ah Rutherford even for a hardcore like me, I’ve got to admit you’re a good sport for putting up with us. Now if you could work on Curator’s demeanor and loosen the jock strap a little before he implodes at defending the indefensible…

  32. European liberals are in shock over Barack Obama’s failures

Even if the world falls apart, and it is with George Soros, Al-Bomba, the U.N. and the E.U. at the helm, there definitely is something incredibly satisfying for me to get to say to Rutherford, Curator, and the lilly livered socialists from Europe

    “I TOLD YOU SO…”

It makes me want to spike the ball while they lay on the ground grasping for air.

  33. According to the task force’s May 2009 report [pdf], a “Nidal Hasan” from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine was a task force event participant.

Oh yeah, Nidal no doubt got his shooting orders directly from our secret Muslim President.

“I am United States Senator John Yerkes Iselin, and I have here a list of two hundred seven persons who are known by the Secretary of Defense as being members of the Communist Party!”

And then later when he can’t keep his numbers straight …

“There are exactly 57 card-carrying members of the Communist Party in the Department of Defense at this time! ”

Got that number from a ketchup bottle. 🙂 — from The Manchurian Candidate (1962)

  34. Elric,

I can hear Mullah Rutherford wailing about this one. What an ass ripper! Like a stab the collective black heart we read about here! 😆

President Bush might not have been loved in Europe, but at least he was feared by his enemies and strategic competitors and respected by US allies. With Barack Obama in the White House, the United States has succeeded in alienating key partners in Eastern and Central Europe by kowtowing to Moscow, has undermined morale in the NATO alliance by refusing to give a firm commitment to extra troops for Afghanistan, is viewed as weak by Nicolas Sarkozy in the face of Iranian aggression, and has relegated the transatlantic alliance to an extraordinarily low priority. Embarrassingly for the president, even the left in Europe are now beginning to question the Obama administration’s record after just nine months in power

Barack Obama is swiftly finding out that American global leadership is far more difficult than it looks, and takes more than a few flowery speeches in Strasbourg or Prague calling for world peace and apologizing for America’s past. As Obama will come to realize, US leadership is not a popularity contest, but about taking tough decisions in defence of America and its allies. So far, the president has only succeeded in undermining both.

I can literally hear leftist ‘roids pop. This is great stuff!

  35. Convenience Store’s Security Camera Video Shows Ft. Hood Killer in Muslim Dress Same Day as Shooting….

Mmmmm, convenience store … probably owned by a Muslim. Hey Elric, the convenience store guy must have been in on it. Yeah those claims that he had no idea Nidal would do this sort of thing … pure BS.

I say we torture the convenience store guy until he tells us the “truth” cos we KNOW he’s a co-conspirator. All those Muslims think the same you know!

P.S. Nidal seen in convenience store wearing Muslim garb. WOW now that’s some crack reporting! I would’ve expected him to be wearing a priest’s frock! I guess that’s why CNN is the place to go for news.

  36. Tex,

al-Thuggy couldnt even get Corzine elected Now the drones might saw Corzine was corrupt and unelectable. Well then why did al-Thuggy invest so much in such a corrupt and unelectable politician?

  37. No doubt that Rutherford has been troubled as of late watching his falling star streak through the atmosphere before blowing up. The Obamaurus wings have melted – no doubt.

I’ve watch the mind of an interesting lib mutate to Keith Olbermann rot over the last six months. This has surprised me to a degree…because I know somewhere in the deep recesses of that capable mind there is a yearning to come out and say…

    “OBAMA SUCKS…”

  38. I noticed that Ms. Bachmann isn’t too bad looking either.

LOL, well there is certainly no accounting for taste. I happen to agree with you that Palin looks stunning for a woman in her early to mid 40’s As for Bachmann, yeah I WOULD kick her out of bed for eating crackers. 😉

  39. Tex,

Surprised? These drones are marxists at hard. They dont desire freedom, they desire servitude. Maybe thats why libs have no problem with TRWMNBN. Its also an ideology of enslavement.

  40. I don’t know Rutherford. I saw her yesterday, and if the camera angle was correct, I saw a pretty cute tush behind the podium.

I think I’d just get more dip (no pun intended).

  41. We dont even get interesting posts anymore.

The posts are very interesting to people concerned about the dissolution of American society.

John Bonehead and his dumbass colleague Ms. Bachmann are an insult to the honor of Sergeant Kimberly Munley, the brave police woman who SAVED countless lives at Fort Hood.

Hey Elric, you dipsh*t excuse for a patriot, where’s your comments giving Sgt. Munley her due? No, that’s not as cathartic as giving us all the dirty details on Nidal, the “advisor” to President Obama.

    You are beyond pathetic.

  42. He gave a Grand Rounds presentation. . . You take turns giving a lecture on, you know, the correct treatment of schizophrenia, the right drugs to prescribe for personality disorder, you know, that sort of thing. But instead of giving an academic paper, he gave a lecture on the Koran, and they said it didn’t seem to be just an informational lecture, but it seemed to be his own beliefs. That’s what a lot of people thought.

He talked about how if you’re a nonbeliever the Koran says you should have your head cut off, you should have oil poured down your throat, you should be set on fire. And I said well couldn’t this just be his educating you? And the psychiatrist said yes, but one of the Muslims in the audience, another psychiatrist, raised his hand and was quite disturbed and he said you know, a lot of us don’t believe these things you’re saying, and that there was no place where Hasan couched it as this is what the Koran teaches but you know I don’t believe it. And people actually talked in the hallway afterwards about ‘is he one of these people that’s going to freak out and shoot people someday?’

  43. WH to Dem strategists: Stop making Fox so … balanced?
posted at 2:00 pm on November 6, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

The White House has taken the war on Fox News to a strange new level. Bitterly complaining that the news channel does not provide a balanced presentation of the issues, the Obama administration has now warned strategists from the Democratic Party that they won’t work with them any longer if the strategists appear on Fox’s programming as guests:

Lets give a shout out to al-Thuggy’s stupidity!!!!!!!!!!

  44. Playing the victim card: Florida mosque requests extra police protection, even though it wasn’t threatened

The thuggish Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is playing the mainstream media like an accordion today, knowing that no reporter will ever dare ask them why they’re condemning yesterday’s jihad attack while opposing every anti-terror measure that has ever come down the pike, and smearing and defaming those who are trying to stand up for freedom against Islamic supremacism.

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/11/playing-the-victim-card-florida-mosque-requests-extra-police-protection-even-though-it-wasnt-threate.html

  45. Looks like more Obama crony shenanigans with ACORN and voter fraud; the same group Curator was defending last year; or was it Rutherford? 😛 Add that to 15% of the Black Caucus that is currently under investigation for tax fraud by the liberal ethics committee nonetheless, and it ain’t looking too transparent Al-Rutherford.

Nothing smells of corruption like a lib. The self-serving nature in their blood. The stink permeates through the screen.

  46. Hmmm at least WZ honored the hero with a post. Can say that with some other blogs. 🙂

Again, you lack simple reading comprehension skills. But I’ll repeat it here again for good measure.

    Comment 65:
John Bonehead and his dumbass colleague Ms. Bachmann are an insult to the honor of Sergeant Kimberly Munley, the brave police woman who SAVED countless lives at Fort Hood.

Hey Elric, you dipsh*t excuse for a patriot, where’s your comments giving Sgt. Munley her due? No, that’s not as cathartic as giving us all the dirty details on Nidal, the “advisor” to President Obama.

    You are beyond pathetic.

  47. Elric,

Man, does a day go by anymore that we can’t paste hundreds of articles about the corruption of Mullah Obama and Co.? It’s becoming so routine, that it’s like clockwork every morning.

Becomes almost repetitive – but needs to be advertised so maybe the 80% of America that doesn’t proudly call itself pinko and pagan can wake up and run these people out.

  48. Tex,

Its surreal how the drones ignore all this transparent corruption but then get all in a uproar because Bachman told the crowd to go and meet with their congressman. I know its hard for drones to understand but the government works for us, not the other way around.

  49. LOL. One year in and Rutherford is talking about punching a guy with an offensive sign and claiming that this quote is evidence of pure evil: “confront supporters of health care reform, to look at them “in the whites of their eyes”.

Oh yeah, he claimed the people to be racist becuase the crowd was white.

This place has become a joke.

I woke up with total sadness for those military families and Rutherford thinks that looking someone in the eyes is evil.

And he is right, it is, just before you shoot someone in cold blood, like that jihadist did.

Dude….I understand anger. I was very angry when I heard what happened last night.

But your cry baby shit is unmanly as it is unproductive.

    A guy with a sign….lol

  50. Hey guys, if you don’t pass the biggest government spending bill in world history, riddled with pork, unemployment might hit 8%.

  51. Here is a question for the sane people here. Drones need not answer.

If a white dude went into a black church and mowed down black church members or some Christian mowed down some abortion doctors, would we have a new post already?

  52. Video: Challenging ObamaCare on competence
posted at 3:00 pm on November 6, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
    Share on Facebook | printer-friendly

If Democrats want to push through a massive government intervention in the health-care industry, they have to make the case that the government can do the job more competently than the private sector. As this new ad argues, which the Weekly Standard says will run on CNN and Fox starting today, the idea of federal competence took a big hit with the emergency response of the White House and HHS on the H1N1 flu. Despite proclaiming a public-health emergency and promising to move Heaven and Earth to deliver 120 million vaccinations by last month, they only delivered 23% of that target on time.

Do Democrats want to argue for better competence with that track record?

The Democrats argue that the private sector has failed, based on the fact that only 87% of Americans have health-insurance coverage. If so, what does a 23% success rate in delivering a vaccine demonstrate? And when government runs everything, will a 23% success rate be what we get for paying $1.8 trillion over the first ten years of real expenditures in the ObamaCare plan?

Small wonder Americans grow more and more disenchanted with the Obama administration on health care policy. They’re seeing the entirely predictable incompetence that results from electing someone with no executive experience into the most difficult executive office in the world. If Obama can’t get vaccines right, there’s no reason to trust him with the totality of our health-care needs.

Lets give a shout out to government incompetence!!!!!!!!!!

  53. DR,

You can apply almost any government program but this one is very valid because it pertains to health and its the same people that want to run every aspect of our health care. I would say look them in the eyes but that would be HATE.

  54. Pregnant Soldier Shot Dead By Fort Hood Killer Screaming “Allahu Akbar”

He was screaming “Allahu Akbar” as he shot her dead.
She had just finished a tour in Iraq.
    francheska
Francheska Velez, 21, of Humboldt Park was three months pregnant when she was killed in the Fort Hood shootings, relatives said. (Sun Times)

One of the dead soldiers in Thursday’s slaughter was pregnant soldier Francheska Velez.
The New York Daily News reported:

A fresh tragedy added to the horror of the Fort Hood massacre Friday when it was revealed that one of the victims was a pregnant soldier.

Francheska Velez, who returned to the U.S. just three days earlier from a foreign posting, was filling out paperwork when a gunman hollered “Allahu Akbar!” and embarked on a bloody rampage that left her and a dozen others dead.

A 21-year-old Chicagoan, Velez was six-weeks pregnant when she was cut down on Thursday, FOX Chicago News reported.

Velez was a sitting duck when the accused gunman, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, yelled “God is great” in Arabic and opened fire with the two guns he’d smuggled into an intake center, Col. John Rossi said at a post-massacre briefing.

  55. Video Gold: Former JAG Officer on CNN Tells Dr. Phil to Quit The “Psychobabble” & Deal With The Islamic Factor at Ft. Hood….

Lefties are working overtime to spin this one so Islam isn’t the motive (he’s mentally ill, Islamophobia drove him to do it, Bush’s fault etc). The facts: Hasan’s a Muslim and he killed infidels to please Allah. Deal with it.

  56. Although I can’t blame you for forgetting her, R. Ferraro was never a threat to anything other than her own party, while Palin’s very existence in politics underscores every single lie put forth by radical feminists and the left, which is why she was viciously and relentlessly attacked by the left’s mouthpieces and cannonfodder alike, and still is to this day, whereas Ferraro was quickly relegated to a footnote in the history of the party of failure.

The GOP has this out as part of the “Holding Democrats Accountable” effort. I’m with Glenn Reynolds on this one; the data speak for themselves without the editorial touch of “stimulus swindle” in the chart. It’s a stylized version of the Innocent Bystanders chart, which uses Christina Romer’s original graph for her completely-repudiated forecasting of the American economy. The only information missing from this chart is the $787 billion we spent to no effect whatsoever on job losses:

How much longer will Congress allow that red line to run before recalling what’s left of Porkulus?

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/graph-of-the-day/

  58. LOL……..these people want to come up with every single possible alternative other then the reality.

He did it for Allah. As they all do.

Quote of the day: “He did for Allah. Get over it.”

I’m convinced Elric’s montage of links everyday is necessary.

That is priceless: That chick tells us it was post traumatic stress syndrome BEFORE the motherfucker goes to war.

Oh man…..there is just no perspective here. I’m still trying to swallow that the day after this slaughter Rutherford pointed out the hatred of saying “look someone in the eyes” over health care.

I’m a total goof ball sometimes. I’m a little overly dramatic and sometimes fly off the handle.

But, I can’t wipe the smirk off my face thinking about Rutherford’s world view.

  59. Rutherford I appreciate this is a big deal for you but I’m not feeling you dude.
The Bachmann bit was pretty sound and hardly inciting violence. It reminds me of when Reagan had people call their reps. Sure it pisses them off but really too bad.
I won’t make hay of the Boehner piece any more than some of the antics, comments or slips on the other side of the aisle. i must remark on the pompous douche of a CNN commentator though. Kinda reminds me of the partisan press lackey CNN had in Chicago. Seriously you should have some disdain for that guy.
The biggie, the Dachau poster. I personally don’t get the thinking behind the selection. I guess I get the whole overblown and tired use of holocaust and nazism but the image isn’t applicable. Should someone have done something about it ? I don’t know if I can believe many people saw it and absorbed it other than the person that took the pic. I’ve seen some demonstrations in my time R . Ones from both sides of US ideology and in places such as Canada,England,Scotland and the Carribean. Strikes, politics, social issues the whole shabang. Let me tell you I don’t think every sign, chant etc. was there with the blessings of the majority or organizers.

  60. “That is priceless: That chick tells us it was post traumatic stress syndrome BEFORE the motherfucker goes to war. ”

Unbelievable isnt it? Its this mentality that led to this. This guy had too many red flags but because he is a muslim it was push to the side out of fear of being labeled.

  61. Estimates vary, but from 4,000 to more than 12,000 Muslims serve in the U.S. military and they didn’t go on a shooting spree yesterday. You can argue it’s not the religion, it’s not the guns, it is the crazy. And no one group has a lock on crazy. But maybe “crazy” is not appropriate for it’s dismissive of the motive. It is sure that Islam has no patents on whackos, but I’ll admit and throw you conservative jackals some read meat… you can’t get around these messages in the Qur’an which is enslavement and convert or die. You’re gonna get more whackos when their holy of holies says “kill the unbeliever”. That’s not bias, its just math. Having said that, without a membership card in his wallet, an unbroken chain of command to al-Qaeda or sealed orders signed by bin Laden then we treat this guy as a lone wacko with no larger significance whatsoever.

  62. Dr Phil et al total tools.
    PTSD round up here
Listen I have no desire to delve into this guys mind nor do I think it is respectful to pundit this to death. I will say though that there are a number of issues in many ways connected to this that we as a nation will need to deal with.

  63. “Estimates vary, but from 4,000 to more than 12,000 Muslims serve in the U.S. military and they didn’t go on a shooting spree yesterday.”

Dude…half of those are Nation of Islam types. I know you are aware of this.

I personally have good friends who are Muslim and lived in a Muslim neighborhood for a long time.

Yeah, there are plenty of good folk. Just like there were plenty of good folk living in Nazi Germany in August, 1939.

Yet, where is the outrage from the Islamic community? You just don’t see it.

Where is the massive Islamic movement to root out jihadism?

    It doesn’t exist.

  64. DR,

Right now they are whining about a backlash.

And yes there are good muslims but its not because of the teachings of islam, its despite its teachings.

Just look at it this way. Would Mo-bomb-ed have approved of this? Damn right he would. He sent assassins to kill poets that “offended” him.

  65. The crazed loon was screaming Allahu Akbar, mind you. These idiots like Dr. Phil and Mammy are fuckin’ clueless. It’s radical Islam period that is the cause.

We don’t need to just clean up terrorists. We need to divulge ourselves of these wretched people too. We know the excuse for Dr. Phil. He’s the clueless Oprah wannabee and a washout. No reputable network would look to him for advice – he’s Joy Behar material.

But this idiot POW? Obviously the radicals knew a useful idiot when they saw one. Her head was much more useful left on her obese body with the mouth connected. I guarantee you she’s an Obama rube.

A tip o’ the hat to CNN for gamely trying to spin one of the most gruesome polls for ObamaCare that we’ve seen this year — so far. Opposition to The One’s plan is now a clear majority, up seven points since September; the number of Americans who want Congress to either make major changes to the bill, start over on the bill, or scrap the entire effort stands at a combined 72 percent; and the number who say Obama isn’t doing enough to work with Republicans now equals the number who say he is.

CNN’s headline? “Public wants Congress to keep working on health care.”

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/oh-my-public-now-opposes-obamacare-4553/

  67. That should put a smile on al-Thuggys face.

Yeah, Obama wants to see pregnant women killed. I expect this tripe from you Elric because you are a couple of tacos short of a combo plate but it pains me that NO ONE else on this forum calls you out for this bullsh*t.

Does everyone here believe that Obama wants to see pregnant women killed? Or do I have to post a poll about that too? Have you people lost your f*cking minds?

  68. R I have a history with Elric and I imagine he’d be willing to point out it was full of opposing views. With that said I don’t think Elric means Obama is happy a pregnant woman (and her child,I know it was only weeks old but it was) but that he means Obama digs the Allah Akbar stuff. Now I imagine you may very well want to call us all out on that too but there’s a few things I’d say to you first.

  69. Why are you surprised R? You let these punks walk all over your blog all day every day. You let the Ed Morrissey Stooge post up any and all kinds of videos, for what purpose? You let him propagate his bullshit, so why should we care? It’s your house.

Of course, this surprises no one.
Weakling Hollywood Director Roland Emmerich of the disaster movie “2012″ will show Catholic landmarks destroyed but will spare Muslim holy sites.

  72. Chicago Area Mosques Play Victim Card After Islamic Terror Attack on Fort Hood

Just this morning we read about Muslims at Fort Meyers playing the usual Islamic victim card. Of course other Muslims have followed their lead. This time Muslims of Chicago are looking to get the focus of non-Muslims, off of the Islamic attack and on to the security of them. Never let them take our focus off of the threat of Islam!

One of the Mosques in the Chicago is the Bridgeview Mosque. Here is a little back round information on them.

A plea from Bridgeview to a Saudi charity asked for money “before it becomes too late and we may lose our children because they are living in an unIslamic society.” One mosque fundraising brochure warned that Chicago’s Muslims were at risk of “melting in the American society, culture and lifestyle.”

Sermons are in Arabic and claim authentic interpretations of the Koran along with following strict Islamic rule. Jamal Said mixes eloquent sermons with ardent pleas to help oppressed Muslims. As prayer leader, he preached that America was a land of disbelievers, where families were not valued. Some of the sheik’s edicts include: don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day and Thanksgiving because those were not Islamic holidays. Don’t listen to contemporary music. Women should not travel long distances without chaperons. Those that criticize mosque leaders to outsiders are “hypocrites”.

    http://islaminaction08.blogspot.com/2009/11/chicago-area-mosques-play-victim-card.html

Its amazing how islam can be the aggressor and play the victim card so smoothly. Its quite breathtaking actually.

  73. People like Nidal Malik Hasan an American born in Virginia. Yeah throw out these damn Americans.

If we follow your lead, we’ll have about 10,000,000 more home grown ones to contend with.

And you’ll think that’s a good thing while you stew about the evils of Christianity. 🙄

  74. You let these punks walk all over your blog all day every day.

I noticed while perusing your blog the other day, you’re the censoring kind, brave soul that you are!…. 😛

No wonder you don’t get any traffic besides Rutherford and your sock puppets.

  75. Elric,

Guys like Curator share something common with the Palestinians and radical Islam, besides their lack of humor and controlling and manipulative nature. Wally’s hate of Conservative America, more specifically Christian Conservatives, is his life force.

Curator I could see walking into a church and opening fire. His motto is any of my enemy is my friend, even if the enemy would make him crawl to Mecca if they ever win. And to make irony of ironies, soon his own son will be going half away around the world to fight Hasan and Co.

    Go figure…

  76. Ahhheeemmmmm…

Funny Gorilla, maybe my memory fails. Didn’t Mondale lose that election? My point stands as is.

*gets out crayons, tries to remember to keep it simple*

    1. My name is not “Gorilla”, it is BiW.

    2. Your point:
    1) Palin’s introduction to the world was seismic, no doubt about it. The potential to have the first female VP, a very big deal and deservedly so. Once she opened her mouth, it was over.

My point: Palin was not the first female with the potential to be the VP. Mondale lost; so did McSame, and arguably, for the same reasons, namely the person at the TOP of the ticket.

  77. Obama Searching for the Root Causes of Ft. Hood Massacre

It looks like the man who killed 13 soldiers and police at Ft. Hood was a Muslim radical who hated America, resented our occupation of Muslim lands, would not be photographed with women, and chanted “Allahu Akbar” before he launched a one-man terrorist attack, but according to CBS White House Correspondent Mark Knoller, Obama wants to know what really made him do it:

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/11/obama_searching_for_the_real_f.asp

al-Thuggy is boning up on his taqiyya

  78. That chick tells us it was post traumatic stress syndrome BEFORE the motherfucker goes to war.

No, Rabbit, I don’t think that is what she was saying at all. She was saying that as a psychiatrist, he was constantly hearing stories from PTSD victims, and it might have contributed to putting him over the edge.

This wouldn’t be the first dude that people grasp for some reason why to explain unreasonable acts. Religious devotion is one of several possible ingredients. He’s in a coma, we may never know for sure.

By the way, the enemy who is obvious to you is not nearly as dangerous as the enemy who hides from you behind some populist rhetoric. Bachmann should scare you. The fact that she doesn’t shows you may not be paying attention.

  79. Tell that to the victims and the family of the victims asshole.

Pure emotional bullsh*t. Curator didn’t say the DEATHS were insignificant. Tell me Elric… does calling Hasan a jihadist make his victims any less dead? He was a whack job … maybe a religious whack job, but a whack job just the same.

  80. Resolving the Cognitive Dissonance of Islam
    By D.L. Adams
The negative spiritual and intellectual consequence of believing two mutually exclusive concepts is “cognitive dissonance.” Our interaction as a society with Islam is a direct cause of “cognitive dissonance” for us as individuals and as a culture.

Resolution of the contradiction requires the rejection of one of the concepts as false. If we continue to ignore our cognitive dissonance about Islam the consequences are dire: we will lose our civilization.

Islam is much more than a religion; it is a complete civilization that includes politics (caliphate), jurisprudence (Sharia law), war (jihad), and a deliberately misleading “religion of peace.” The doctrine of Islam is found in three books: Koran (the literal word of Allah as “revealed” to Mohammed), Sira (Mohammad’s biography), and Hadith (stories about and sayings of Mohammed by contemporaries). The definitive text of Sharia law is “Reliance of the Traveller.” Allah and Mohammed are to be obeyed, not questioned. “Islam” means “submission;” a Muslim is “one who submits.” “Islam” does not mean “peace.”

Well … yes, that’s true, if you think anything short of Hasan sitting up in his hospital bed and declaring “why, indeed, religion was a factor at Fort Hood” amounts to irresponsible speculation. But here’s what we’ve got so far, according to eyewitnesses, colleagues, and friends. He considered the war on terror a “war on Islam” and himself a Muslim first and an American second; he thought Muslims had the right to stand up to the “aggressor” in the Middle East and is suspected of posting things online about the selfless heroism of jihadist suicide bombers; he was placed on probation for proselytizing about Islam to patients and colleagues and was sufficiently devout that he refused to have his picture taken with women; he once used a lecture at a medical conference as an opportunity to discuss how the Koran orders decapitation for infidels; and, oh yes, he yelled “Allahu Akbar” before opening fire.

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/06/chris-matthews-we-may-never-know-if-religion-was-a-factor-at-fort-hood/

You really have to be a moron not to think islam drove this guy into jihad.

  82. Rutherford,

Your politically correct nature along with Curator and many others is going to get innocent people killed. Is it worth being on the left side and parroting Dr. Phil?

What is it that you can’t comprehend that Islamic terrorists are whack jobs, driven by religious idealogy – Muslim ideology?

The man had given away his possessions, closed out his accounts, terminated his apartment contract, took 2-3 days to get the weapons and ammunition, and was screaming Allahu Akbar as he shot. It is clearly premeditated murder, had nothing to do with PTSS, and everything to do with Islam?

Would you for once place the truth above lefty politic?

  83. Yet, where is the outrage from the Islamic community? You just don’t see it.

Agreed. I eagerly clicked on a Huff Post article that promised a condemnation from Muslim leaders in its headline but when you read the actual article it was totally defensive … condemning the violence to prevent an anti-Muslim backlash.

Then I watched a CAIR representative on Hardball tonight and again I hoped to see a simple open expression of outrage and condemnation and instead I saw complaints about anti-Muslim sentiment and defensiveness.

This problem is not going to be solved until those who represent peaceful Muslims express unqualified, free and open condemnation for this behavior without any defense or talk of victim-hood.

On this point, none of you will get any argument from me.

  84. Fort Hood Jihad Treason and Mass Murder
    November 5th, 2009

President Obama called the shootings “tragic” and “a horrific outburst of violence.” (CNN)

The horror and atrocity mass murders that occurred today at Fort Hood were not a “tragedy”; a car crash is a tragedy, the Titanic disaster is a tragedy, the lost Dickinson University students is a tragedy. More accurately, the result of this attack of cruel murder and treason was a tragedy, a tragedy for the victims and their families and for the entire country. The tragedy was a result of jihad. Jihad is Islamic warfare against the unbelievers.

The country is in mourning this evening because a traitor murdered his former comrades specifically because of his Islamic beliefs. There is no other explanation for this horror. The jihadist officer killed non-believers because that is what Allah and Mohammed command. Jihad is an obligation for every adherent of this ideology; there is no option. Jihad is the finest thing any adherent of Islam can do. It is the epitome of Islamism. We must accept the truth of Islam -that it is hostile and violent- and protect ourselves, our culture and country (and our friends) from this menace that is Islamic supremacism and jihad against us all.

President Obama should be clearer in his condemnation of this horror: it is an act of treason and willful murder of innocent non-Muslims by a Muslim acting in accordance with the doctrine of Islam.

Islam is a political ideology whose purpose is the destruction of non-believers and their cultures. This is what we saw today at Fort Hood.

The Pentagon is urging the media not to speculate on the motive for the attack. ABC News’ Brian Ross described Major Malik Nidal Hassan a convert to Islam. (Source) (Apparently, this early report is incorrect, see below. Hasan was brought up as a Muslim.)

The event itself is not accurately described as a “tragedy”; the event is willful murder of non-Muslims by a Muslim recently converted to Islam; it is jihad. (New information on the traitor jihadist killer is that he was brought up a Muslim. Earlier reports that he was a “recent convert” are apparently incorrect as of this posting.)

Maj. Hasan, raised a Muslim, had wanted to go into the military against his parent’s wishes, but he was taunted by others after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, his cousin said. (FoxNews)

It is also treason and a betrayal of everything American and civilized by the killer. This rejection of one set of concepts of right and wrong (Americanism and decency and civilization) for another set (Islam) that is founded upon submission resulted in mass murder at Fort Hood. Islam is the greatest danger that faces this country and the civilized world today.

It is a particular kind of murder – Muslim murder of non-Muslims. This is something that Sharia law says merits “no retribution”. There are several kinds of murder that Islamic law (Sharia) states do not merit “retribution” from the Islamic state. (In Islam there is no separation of church and state; Islam is the state.) Here is what “Reliance of the Traveller” the definitive book of Sharia law says on the matter of allowed murder:

The following are not subject to retaliation:

    * a Muslim for killing a non-Muslim (o1.2(2))
    * a Jewish or Christian subject of the Islamic state for killing an apostate from Islam (O:because a subject of the state is under its protection, while killing an apostate from Islam is without consequences); (o1.2(3))
    * a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offsprings offspring (o1.2(4))

    http://sioanetwork.com/?p=461

  85. “Would you for once place the truth above lefty politic?”

Tex, you are talking about someone who views Michelle Bachman more a threat than the ideology that drove Hasan to murder all those innocent people.

  86. These idiots like Dr. Phil and Mammy are fuckin’ clueless.

Hey Tex, hear me … if you don’t knock off the racist bullsh*t I will ban your ass faster than you can say “Mammy”. You bother to call McGraw, “Dr. Phil” but you defile a woman who took a f*cking bullet for your lazy ass as “Mammy”. She was a POW … Shoshona Johnson and she deserves respect. 88. What the Pelosi Health-Care Bill Really Says
Here are some important passages in the 2,000 page legislation.

    By BETSY MCCAUGHEY

The health bill that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is bringing to a vote (H.R. 3962) is 1,990 pages. Here are some of the details you need to know.

What the government will require you to do:

    • Sec. 202 (p. 91-92) of the bill requires you to enroll in a “qualified plan.” If you get your insurance at work, your employer will have a “grace period” to switch you to a “qualified plan,” meaning a plan designed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. If you buy your own insurance, there’s no grace period. You’ll have to enroll in a qualified plan as soon as any term in your contract changes, such as the co-pay, deductible or benefit.

    • Sec. 224 (p. 118) provides that 18 months after the bill becomes law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services will decide what a “qualified plan” covers and how much you’ll be legally required to pay for it. That’s like a banker telling you to sign the loan agreement now, then filling in the interest rate and repayment terms 18 months later.

On Nov. 2, the Congressional Budget Office estimated what the plans will likely cost. An individual earning $44,000 before taxes who purchases his own insurance will have to pay a $5,300 premium and an estimated $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses, for a total of $7,300 a year, which is 17% of his pre-tax income. A family earning $102,100 a year before taxes will have to pay a $15,000 premium plus an estimated $5,300 out-of-pocket, for a $20,300 total, or 20% of its pre-tax income. Individuals and families earning less than these amounts will be eligible for subsidies paid directly to their insurer.

Curator, if I really thought I was going to end up with threads full of hateful BS with no chance of debate or opposing views then I guess I would just ban them. Call me an idealist but I keep hoping that when someone says “Obama is glad a pregnant woman died” that a bunch of sensible people will jump on his ass. Maybe I’m wrong.

I do have to tell you, wading through these threads particularly over the past couple of days, makes blogging a lot less enjoyable. Some of these folks speak a totally different language and their head is so far up their ass that my expectation of having any real discussion with them does show me the fool.

posted at 3:30 pm on November 6, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

The Times of London reports that the talks in Copenhagen to gain an international consensus on emissions limitations for industrial and developing nations are collapsing. Global-warming activists hoped to pin nations down to firm commitments for cutting emissions and limiting energy use. However, no one seems to want to commit economic suicide, and the talks will likely produce nothing but non-binding resolutions:

    God I hope its true

  91. Nidal Malik Hasan was actually a “Palestinian”. Thats how he registered himself at his mosque.

There is no sensible explanation for that. If I am not mistaken he was born in Arlington, VA of Libyan heritage. He has relatives currently living in Palestine.

  92. Make Curator happy and ban me then so you cowards can blather on like good leftists without interruption.

Shoshona Johnson is a useful idiot. The only thing she protected is the biscuits under her fat ass. A pure, unadultered Obama rube as dumb as the rest of you leftist hacks, and if she were white, you wouldn’t give a damn what I called her.

You go looking for any excuse to find racism behind every corner Jesse. Perhaps you can “Shakedown” your support link.

  93. Democratic civil war update: MoveOn raises $3.6 million to attack party moderates

A few days ago, the left-wing activist group MoveOn.org began sending out emails seeking contributions to fund primary challenges against any Democratic senator who does not fully support “health care reform with a public option.” Now there’s an update: MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben says the group has raised $3,578,117 for the project and is thinking of new ways to punish errant Democratic lawmakers.

Gee what happened to that big tent drones?

  94. My point: Palin was not the first female with the potential to be the VP. Mondale lost; so did McSame, and arguably, for the same reasons, namely the person at the TOP of the ticket.

First, BiW, my apologies for the misidentification. Secondly in the English language word placement is actually important.

I didn’t say “Palin was the first female with the potential to be the VP. ”

I said “The potential to have the first female VP” which stands as is. With Palin’s nomination we had the potential to have the first female VP (just as we did with Ferraro). I did not say she was the first female to have this potential … I said she would potentially be our first female VP. There’s a difference.

Maybe that’s why I accidentally called you Gorilla. I wouldn’t think I’d be arguing semantics with an attorney who should be a master at it.

  95. And I wanted to respond to this the other day, but I was very busy, and could not return to it until now.

BiW, first of all, where is the “objective criteria” to be used as a basis for an anti-gay marriage decision?

Not the silliest thing I’ve read in this debate, but it is close.
When you argue for a change in the law, you have to provide the courts with good reason. You don’t automatically get what you want because the defenders of the current law can’t tell you why you can’t have what you want.

In this controversy, the inescapable fact is that in the commonlaw of this nation, and western civilization in general, “marriage” has had a very specific definition, that being one man and one woman. The commonlaw tradition did not include any qualifiers, provisos, or exceptions. This was done because in the past, the aims of government and the laws it promulgated were concerned with the preservation of society. Neal and Bob, and Sue and Tina do not contribute to the coming generations.

The landmark marriage cases that have been decided by the Supreme Court have had objective criteria and have included facts such as inate characteristics. For example, Loving v. Virginia dealt with a mixed race couple and the state’s prohibition on such marriages. Race is an inate characteristic; no one can wake up one morning, decide that they want to be a different race and make it happen, (except maybe Michael Jackson, and why he wanted to be a small chested white girl, I’ll never know.), no more than a person can switch their sex (I mean for real, not changing the outward appearance). That is why classifications such as gender and race in law are subjected to a higher degree of scrutiny in judicial review than laws that do not address innate characteristics. As much as the left want to wish “Sexual orientation” into the same category, the fact is there is no reason to confer that “protected status” on “sexual orientation” because there is no objective, verifiable evidence of innate characteristics that would make such protections necessary. Put simply, they want it because they want it, and that, in and of itself is not a good reason to change the law, no matter how poetic the proponents wax poetic on “equality” and their rights. In addition, to confer such a status would be to insult other groups that have such innate characteristics. It cheapens the sacrifices and efforts of the groups that did fight for those recognitions. It also creates a dangerous precedent, one often denied by gay-rights advocates because it implies an unflattering comparison, but at the same time, when considered in the long view, actually does make sense, namely: If the only standard for establishing such rights becomes the mere claims that “That’s just the way I am”, and “Because I want it”, then you can’t say now when the latest and greatest “That’s the way I am” emerges in 20-30 years. 30 years ago, the idea of the “gay lifestyle” was shocking and repellant to most of society. Today a combination of factors, not least among them constant and agressive assertion that the traditional teachings of western society and religion are “bigotted” and “intolerant” along with a persistant willingness to force acceptance of what the rest of America has consistantly rejected every time they have actually been asked has made at least a grudging acceptance of the lifestyle commonplace for America, and the open embrace of Hollyweird and the rest of the enterment industry that has a contempt for the rest of the country. I’ll bet you $5 that in 30 years, we will be debating whether or not adults can marry children, or their dogs, or have polygamous marriages.

Gay marriage does not threaten heterosexual marriage, nor the institution in general.

Yes, it does, because the law would require the presumption that it is the same as traditional marriage, which it is not. And it is already the case that in some jurisdictions, children are taught in schools about same sex couples, in direct contravention of parents’ wishes and without notice to parents, and the practice has been upheld under the philosophy that “because they are the same as regular marriage, and as such, society has a compelling interest in promoting same sex couples.”

The prohibition against it is based on nothing but ignorance.

I know you want it to be true, but I have addressed this above.

The great irony is that the typical criticisms of the gay community (perversion, promiscuity, etc.) are rendered null and void by their eagerness to embrace the grand tradition of marriage and family building.

Actually, there are no statistics bearing this out, and what data the CDC has published, and has been embraced by the gay community, it is not true.

There is no basis upon which to deny them that privilege.

Repeating a falsehood does not transmute it to truth.

When the ignorance of the people holds sway, it is the job of the judicial to enforce justice. That is why the referendums must be turned upside down by some judicial activism,

Scratch a liberal, find a tyrant.
This is probably single most astonishing thing I have ever read you type. I know the left finds it comforting to continually pass judgment upon the “intellectual weakness” of the masses, largely because they believe that if they can impose an intellectual ruling class upon us, they assume that they will be in it. This is antithetical to the American Experiment. We have had rule by a leader class before. They were called a monarchy, and the fact that such a predicament lends itself to rapacious excess built upon the heads of their subjects was a leading cause of our rebellion against it. Our founders knew that power was a corrupting influence, and that was one reason why government was made far less appealing than the private sector. It was a duty to serve, not a stepping stone to personal agrandizement and power at the expense of the will of the people. What’s worse is we have ample evidence that the very people that you would have rule over us are completely ignorant of the Constitution, or have elected to completely ignore it, be they the Congresscritters who cannot cite the Constitutional authority for the their HealthCare takeover, or new appointees to the United States Supreme Court who believe that wise latina women judges can make decisions better than old white guys. I’m starting to think that you and others like you will not understand the error of your ways in supporting such thinking until the time comes when the alligator is still hungry and you have no one else to feed to it.

Regarding my comment to Elric, when you disrespect the gay community and then hold yourself as a judge of others who disrespect the gay community, you are a hypocrite. Plain and simple. I suspect Elric and the average Muslim have more in common about their attitudes toward homosexuals than they have differences.

  96. Dancing Around the Truth of the Fort Hood Rampage

A Dutch writer living in politically correct America says what too many are afraid to say.

There is only one term that adequately describes the massacre at Fort Hood: a terrorist attack. The media tries to avoid this term, but the more that is known about the killer, the more it becomes clear that this premeditated and deadly attack on unarmed soldiers and civilians was driven by his belief that Islam should rule the world.

In politically correct America, this massacre will lead to intensified efforts to find explanations which fit into the progressive worldview. It just can’t be true that a serious adult like the perpetrator starts killing because he feels justified to murder infidels.

Within hours, liberal commentators were able to find all kinds of explanations for his attack. The killer was a victim of verbal abuse or of a military that would send him, a soldier, to war. Or he was a victim of the insensitivity demonstrated by women (he wasn’t able to find a wife who was as religious as he was) or of whatever was available to deny the very core of this man’s existence: his unshakable belief in Allah and His final Messenger. But a gunman who shouts “Allahu Akbar” while killing unarmed people is exactly what he purports to be: a killing warrior for his God.

In a shocking interview on Fox News, one of Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s family members started the sanitization of the murderer. The family may have known about this killer’s radicalization. He was quite open about his belief system, about his efforts to convert colleagues and patients, about his opposition to America’s wars. Apparently, they thought it wasn’t unusual that a devout Muslim was as radical as he declared himself to be.

But isn’t this strange? A huge civilization of more than a billion Muslims accepts the daily atrocities of suicide killings without showing its disgust. Never a mass rally, never a demonstration against the creatures that kill women and children in markets in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and, if they get the chance, in the West.

The Muslim world accepts these atrocities as long as infidels or Jews aren’t involved. How many copies of the Koran have been destroyed in the hundreds of attacks by Muslims on Muslim believers and their mosques? But one rumor about the desecration of a copy by an infidel can lead to violent eruptions.

  97. “Regarding my comment to Elric, when you disrespect the gay community and then hold yourself as a judge of others who disrespect the gay community, you are a hypocrite. Plain and simple. I suspect Elric and the average Muslim have more in common about their attitudes toward homosexuals than they have differences.”

What the hell are you talking about?

  98. if she were white, you wouldn’t give a damn what I called her.

Talk about intellectually dishonest. If she were white, would you have called her Mammy? Now, I’m not quite sure why you find this difficult to understand seeing as you are intelligent in most other ways. When a black woman says something with which you don’t agree, and that something has NOTHING to do with race relations or anything remotely racial, and you then use a nasty term for fat black women, I shouldn’t call you out for it? As I said relating to your attack on Sensico, there are loads of epithets you have at your command. Why you have to reach for the racially charged ones (even something Elric does not do) is beyond me. If it is just to get my goat, well ok you got your wish. It pissed me off. I hope you got your juvenile thrill out of it.

Your double standard about respecting folks in uniform truly blows me away. With your definition of valor, there would have been a whole lot fewer purple hearts awarded and I suspect they would have only gone to conservative soldiers. I sure hope Kimberly Munley isn’t a liberal ‘cos if so, I guess she’s a worthless POS, Obama-loving rube, who just happened to save who knows how many lives at Fort Hood.

  99. Geraldo Discusses Ft. Hood Attacks- Slams US for Widespread Predjudice & Discrimination Against Muslims (Video) …Update: Ft. Hood Killer Attended Mosque Before Killing Spree
    Friday, November 6, 2009, 9:09 PM
    Jim Hoft

Geraldo was on with Bill O’Reilly tonight:

Geraldo Rivera: “I think what happened in Orlando and what happened in Fort Hood Texas is the same thing. You have a paranoid obsessed, impotent, frustrated loser who takes out his rage whatever it is, whether he lost his job, or like the kids at Columbine High School who were being bullied in school or in the case of Major Hasan he’s got whatever his psychobabble religious beef is. They go off and they inflict terrible harm on innocent people to assuage whatever it is that’s bugging them. It is totally about them. It is the same story. And the people I feel the most sorry for tonight are the 12 to 15,000 Muslim GI’s who serve honorably and the four million Muslims in this country the citizens who are patriots and believe that believe in our country and now will be because of this, the way this story is being played will be subjected to more of this kind of undertone, widespread, resentment and prejudice and discrimination that’s happened really since 9-11.

    Of course, Geraldo is wrong.
IBDeditorials.com released this chart on US hate crimes back in 2007, via Michelle Malkin:

The number of hate crimes against Muslims have significantly decreased since 9-11.

Why are libs so hell bent on making ludicrous excuses for the massacre when its so transparent what the motive was? Seriously.

  100. I’ve figured out that Elric loves to post links way more than he does to actually read comments. I would have thought that Elric might actually chime in with some agreement on comment 131 but he’s too busy posting links to see when I might actually agree with a bit of what he says.

Oh well … have fun folks. I’m outta here until Sunday. I’m going to my 30th high school reunion tomorrow night on Long Island where I grew up. It will be nice to see people I knew before things got so complicated.

  101. I just wanted to see if Bro. Rutherford had banned me yet. If not, have fun and make sure you stay out of the WalMart – that fine bastion where hoards of Obama rubes trample security guards to death.

Remember that beauty you blew a fuse about looking for tacit racism under every stone? I think that was the first time you accused me of being racist. 😛

  102. I’ve been so busy lately, I don’t have time to keep up with the news or most of the posts here.

After reading Rutherford’s response, I thought Obama’s Native American speech was minutes after the attack.

I think it was more like hours after the attack.

That was weird. Odd way to start a speech off in the wake of this slaughter. Dude is Commander and Chief. Why would you start off a speech like that when you know every channel is covering you live to address the tragedy?

Bachmann should scare me? Who is she? Honestly, I have to google her. I’m out of it.

  103. Here Rabbit. And this one I am not joking, gigging or razzing about.

Very good explanation as to why millions of people, including Elric and me, watched in horror at a man who has absolutely no business being President. This pretty much explains it, Obama’s excuse makers notwithstanding…

    Obama’s Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting

    http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/politics/A-Disconnected-President.html

Hard to believe that even hardcore Obama fans weren’t aghast at this one. 👿

  104. DR,

Bachman is an evil hateful Congresswomen from MN. She told the racist tea partiers yesterday after the speeches in DC to find their Congressperson and look them in the eye and say they dont want government health care. Can you believe that? Told them TO LOOK THEM IN THE EYE!!!!!! How can anyone harbor so much hate?

  105. Tex,

The man is all about him not the country. Think of it this way. It was the largest jihadist attack on US soil since 9-11 and the asshole was giving shout outs.

  106. Ft. Hood jihadist’s cousin: “If he had killed one or two, I could say that he was defending himself.”

Just a little murder. This quote comes from Nidal Malik Hasan’s cousin in an article that, like many news reports, comes perilously close to offering any alienation or mistreatment Hasan may have perceived as an excuse for his rampage. Broken moral compasses and outrageous claims of moral equivalence abound.

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/11/ft-hood-jihadists-cousin-if-he-had-killed-one-or-two-i-could-say-that-he-was-defending-himself.html

  107. Elric,

Without doubt, it was the most classless episode I’ve ever witnessed from a sitting President. President Bush Sr. throwing up in the lap of the Japanese delegate that one year had more class.

I am actually ashamed for my country that a majority of the people thought this charlatan even remotely qualified to be leader of the free world.

As weak as I thought John McCain as a candidate, he would have never shamed himself this way. While we ride people like Rutherford as we should for all of his egregious sins while Bush was President, there are truly many things Obama has done that tell me he is indeed dangerous and I believe evil.

    (1) The world apology tour for all of America’s “sins” – empowering our enemies
    (2) The massive debt granted to future generations
    (3) The push towards socialism and a failed European model
    (4) The alienation and isolation of Israel – our only true ally in the Middle East
    (5) The removal of the missile shield in eastern Europe – then to renege later in indecision
    (6) The arrogance “we won” he demonstrated days after being elected
    (7) The insensitivity as demonstrated here
    (8) The people he has chosen to surround himself with as cabinet
    (9) The closing of GITMO with apparently little plan else
    (10) The push for a healthcare bill that most Americans do not want.
    (11) Putting a political election ahead of the deployment of more troops – everybody should recognize the reasons for the delay.
    (12) His inability to deal with Iran, which by the way the Iranians have taken complete control of the issue, and in fact have called Obama “weak”. Even leftist Europe is beginning to mumble this.

Besides an obvious ability to delivered a prepared speech and a presumed charisma, what exactly has our current President really excelled? What exactly has he achieved going on close to a year?

We keep hearing how “intelligent” Obama is, but how has he shown it and where is the proof? We keep hearing how charming Obama is, but charming people can articulate a message of sorrow at appropriate times. We keep being told by the media he will make America honest again and set things right for the world, but Obama himself hides behind a continual curtain of secrecy and sealed records. We were told Obama would be a post-racial President but, yet he has demonstrated nothing post-racial and does so at the most inappropriate of times.

How exactly are we better off now than we were under Bush? The economy is getting worse, with unemployment at levels not seen since Jimmy Carter. Does anybody really feel any safer because of Obama’s soft pedaled approach to radical Islam? Didn’t seem to matter this week, did it?

We are losing the war in Afghanistan, which was at the very least being controlled not 10 months ago. Casualties are starting to mount.

And yet for all of this, the left continues the chant of “hope & change” and “yes we can!”.

Yes we can what? Shovel America to the dustbin of human history? 😦

BOSTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) – FOX25 has learned that Congressman Barney Frank was present during a marijuana arrest at James Ready’s home in Ogunquit, Maine. Ready is well-known for his relationship with Congressman Frank.

According to a police report, police charged Ready with marijuana possession, cultivation and use of drug paraphernalia in August of 2007. Ready admitted to civil possession and paid a fine. The remaining charges were dismissed in 2008.

Sources tell FOX25 that when Frank was questioned he told police that he did not live in the house and that he only smoked cigars.

Congressman Frank tells FOX25 that he was surprised and disappointed with what police found. He also tells us that he wouldn’t recognize a marijuana plant if he saw one because he is, “not a great outdoorsman,” and ,”wouldn’t recognize most plants.”

  110. The Hole at the Heart of Our Strategy
We’re scrupulously non-judgmental about the ideology that drives terrorism.

    By Mark Steyn

Thirteen dead and 31 wounded would be a bad day for the U.S. military in Afghanistan, and a great victory for the Taliban. When it happens in Texas, in the heart of the biggest military base in the nation, at a processing center for soldiers either returning from or deploying to combat overseas, it is not merely a “tragedy” (as too many people called it) but a glimpse of a potentially fatal flaw at the heart of what we have called, since 9/11, the “War on Terror.” Brave soldiers trained to hunt down and kill America’s enemy abroad were killed in the safety and security of home by, in essence, the same enemy — a man who believes in and supports everything the enemy does.

    And he’s a U.S. Army major.

And his superior officers and other authorities knew about his beliefs but seemed to think it was just a bit of harmless multicultural diversity — as if believing that “the Muslims should stand up and fight against the aggressor” (i.e., his fellow American soldiers) and writing Internet paeans to the “noble” “heroism” of suicide bombers and, indeed, objectively supporting the other side in an active war is to be regarded as just some kind of alternative lifestyle that adds to the general vibrancy of the base.

When it emerged early on Thursday afternoon that the shooter was Nidal Malik Hasan, there appeared shortly thereafter on Twitter a flurry of posts with the striking formulation: “Please judge Major Malik Nadal [sic] by his actions and not by his name.”

Concerned Tweeters can relax: There was never really any danger of that — and not just in the sense that the New York Times’s first report on Major Hasan never mentioned the words “Muslim” or “Islam,” or that ABC’s Martha Raddatz’s only observation on his name was that “as for the suspect, Nadal Hasan, as one officer’s wife told me, ‘I wish his name was Smith.’”

What a strange reaction. I suppose what she means is that, if his name were Smith, we could all retreat back into the same comforting illusions that allowed the bureaucracy to advance Nidal Malik Hasan to major and into the heart of Fort Hood while ignoring everything that mattered about the essence of this man.

Since 9/11, we have, as the Twitterers recommend, judged people by their actions — flying planes into skyscrapers, blowing themselves up in Bali nightclubs or London Tube trains, planting IEDs by the roadside in Baghdad or Tikrit. And on the whole we’re effective at responding with action of our own — taking out training camps in Afghanistan, rolling up insurgency networks in Fallujah and Ramadi, intercepting terror plots in London and Toronto and Dearborn.

But we’re scrupulously non-judgmental about the ideology that drives a man to fly into a building or self-detonate on the subway, and thus we have a hole at the heart of our strategy. We use rhetorical conveniences like “radical Islam” or, if that seems a wee bit Islamophobic, just plain old “radical extremism.” But we never make any effort to delineate the line which separates “radical Islam” from non-radical Islam. Indeed, we go to great lengths to make it even fuzzier. And somewhere in that woozy blur the pathologies of a Nidal Malik Hasan incubate. An army psychiatrist, Major Hasan was an American, born and raised, who graduated from Viriginia Tech and then received his doctorate from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, which works out to the best part of half a million dollars’ worth of elite education. But he opposed America’s actions in the Middle East and Afghanistan, and made approving remarks about jihadists on American soil. “You need to lock it up, Major,” cautioned his superior officer, Col. Terry Lee.

  111. BORING SPORTS MEDICINE TALK DIRECTED AT TEX

My last games of softball last night. I have estimated that I’ve plated over 80 games this season.

Tex, my knees are shot. I had surgery 3 years ago on my left knee (patella reattached and holes put in the long shot hope what little cartilage is left might be stimulated or something.

I’m certain at the very least my right knee needs to be scoped. I have to use both hands on the damn banister to make it down the stairs.

What do you feel about those chicken cartilage injections they do now. Is that stuff for wannabe athletes like myself or just old farts wanting to golf every now and then.

All through my 20s into my 30s I lifted weights like a mad man. At the time steroids were legal at GNC (Andro).

The upshot was I put my body so out of wack due to never squatting. My upper body became huge yet I still have chicken legs. I weigh in at 255. One time just swinging the bat, I produced so much force from the top that my knee exploded, my cap on the side of damn leg.

It’s too late to fix things and I know I should lose about 40 pounds and become cut instead going with the muscle/fat “biker” look.

At this point I just want to be able to be active with my kid.

For as much medical advancements there have been, break throughs in orthopedics and arthritis haven’t been too impressive if you ask me.

  112. Wow, G, I gave you more credit than to believe you’d respond to a dog whistle blown by Michele Bachmann. ” –R

Why is it that when a liberal protests, it is the greatest form of patriotic expression, but when conservatives do it then suddenly it is a joke to be ignored? Do I not have a right to express my 1st amendment freedoms or will your justification for judicial activism marginalize me for political culling?

At what point do actually feel shame? Funny, in this discussion it is you, the liberal, who throws the race card. Why am I not surprised? How should we take this R? Tell me, how would you have taken it if I had asked where were the white people in Detroit when they was lining up for that Obama money? Smooth isn’t it.

Yes, there were black people there, not a lot, but some. But R has demonstrated something else for us, or at least I guess we should take it this way since has implied it- blacks are incapable as individuals of having independent political opinions. Considering his “drone” like defense of Obama no matter what, clearly the party line and the ‘black’ line must be in synch. Makes sense when you look at through R’s prism: 90+ percent approval of Obama when the rest of the country averages about 50%; or the continual election of political policies in places like Detroit that have only served to decline quality of life for the black community; or my personal favorite, the effort to push within their own community black politicians for no other reason other than the color of their skin, as witnessed most recently in Atlanta and of course with Obama himself.

So really R, next time you feel like writing something like this: “<i. Talk about intellectually dishonest. If she were white, would you have called her Mammy?” just shut the fuck up- you’ve no moral high ground or right to talk.

  113. Wow, G, I gave you more credit than to believe you’d respond to a dog whistle blown by Michele Bachmann. ” –R

So really R, next time you feel like writing something like this: “. Talk about intellectually dishonest. If she were white, would you have called her Mammy?” just shut the fuck up- you’ve no moral high ground or right to talk.

  115. George W. Bush Visits Fort Hood, Wounded Soldiers
FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.

The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood’s Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood’s military leaders and hospital staff for the “amazing care they are providing.”

An Army psychiatrist, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 30 in a shooting rampage Thursday at a Soldier Readiness Processing Center on the post.

Hasan was wounded by a civilian police officer and was taken into custody.

  116. Gorilla,

Yeah, Rutherford just can’t believe others can be slanderous when he consistently blogs about any dissent as being evil.

Rutherford called you a racist for being at that Tea Party.

I just can’t wrap my mind around a guy blogging about the horror of someone saying “look them in the eyes” the day after our troops were attacked by another jihadist dog.

This blog has been dead to me a long time ago.

It’s always tough when “your guy” is president. But I was actually stupid enough to think Rutherford would defend policy.

R has proved himself to be nothing more then a bigot. I just got done skimming the last year of this place for a second time.

Blog after blog that revolve around the same thing. Those who practice free speech and disagree with Rutherford, particularly ones who assemble themselves in a group, are evil and racist. (In a good mood by R, they are ignorant and even merely festive)

This one might take the cake though.

    “Look them in the eyes.”

    The horror. The horror.

  117. “Look them in the eyes.”

    The horror. The horror.

    DR,

Thats why I call them drones. Thats beyond grasping at straws.

Check out post 137. Cracks me up.

  118. Better be careful Rabbit. Rutherford has gotten so tired of me giving him a taste of his own medicine, he’s threatening to ban me for making off the wall Gone with the Wind comments.

I agree with you that Rutherford has proven to be a much weaker opponent when he has to play defense. But I knew that would happen to the libs. At least Curator makes the attempt to answer the easy ones. Rutherford doesn’t make the attempt to answer questions anymore he’s so embarrassed of the dismal Democratic showing.

In their defense, Obama’s obvious narcissism and his alarmingly pathetic policies are pretty damn hard to defend.

I’ll get back with you later about your medical request. My lovely bride is now in town and we are going to get something healthy to eat – like barbeque, steak and taters. 🙂

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Decrying Barack Obama as “white power in black face,” hundreds of African-Americans marched on the White House Saturday to protest policies of the first black US president, and demand that he bring US troops home.

More than 200 people gathered for the first public demonstration by African Americans against the Obama administration since his historic inauguration in January, and slammed the president for continuing what they described as Washington’s “imperialist” agenda around the world.

“We recognize that Barack Hussein Obama is white power in black face,” civil rights activist Omali Yeshitela, chairman of the Black is Back coalition which arranged the protest, called into a megaphone as the group marched outside the mansion’s gates.

  124. Muslims at Fort Hood blame army command for jihad massacre

    Typical evasion of responsibility.

“Muslims at Fort Hood voice outrage,” by Michael Moss for the New York Times via MSNBC, November 7:

KILLEEN, Texas – Leaders of the vibrant Muslim community here expressed outrage on Friday at the shooting rampage being laid to one of their members, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who had become a regular attendee of prayers at the local mosque.

But some of the men who had befriended Major Hasan at the mosque said the military should examine the policies that might have caused him to snap.

“When a white guy shoots up a post office, they call that going postal,” said Victor Benjamin II, 30, a former member of the Army. “But when a Muslim does it, they call it jihad.

That’s because that’s what the Muslims who do it call it.

“Ultimately it was Brother Nidal’s doing, but the command should be held accountable,” Mr. Benjamin said. “G.I.’s are like any equipment in the Army. When it breaks, those who were in charge of keeping it fit should be held responsible for it.”…

  125. Poll: What was the Obamateurism of the Week?

It’s time once again for the choice of Barack Obama stumbles. I’d give a shout out to my favorite this week, but what happens if it gets beaten badly by voters? Why, I’d feel like The Biggest Loser! I doubt that I could show my face anywhere but at my cousin Pookie’s, and since I don’t have a cousin Pookie, I’d be right up a creek.

What was the Obamateurism of the Week (11/8)?

    Pookie?

  126. Rabbit,

I’m guessing you are developing osteoarthritis, and forgive me if you already knew this. And to be honest, the treatment is not so much for a cure but to provide relief. There are certain things that orthopedics seems to be pretty effective with if the patient young enough – joint replacements for instance. Of course, what man provides is not nearly as good as what God provides (sorry to pain the libs here with that mention).

Everyone of us eventually get to the point in our lives where parts intended to be flexible cartilage begin to calcify and/or form scar tissue basically stopping cellular division necessary for repair. It’s inevitable and there is little you can do to heal ligament and tendon damage once you reach a certain age, because for the most part they are avascular – little blood flow and the cells simply don’t divide and differentiate into the necessary repair tissue. Adding to that, any scar tissue you’ve accumulated will interfere with the process also.

You don’t want to hear this, but I can virtually guarantee you one of the best things you could do for yourself is drop 50 pounds. Go pick up a bag of cement today and see if you feel the strain in the your back – the concept is no different for your knees. In addition, I would talk to your doctor about exercises strengthening both your lower and upper extremities. However, these are long term cures and more prevention.

I tore my rotator cuff (supraspinitus) many years ago which brought my athletic career to a halt. There are times it still can bother me, and the only thing I have found over the counter that brings any real relief is Alleve.

My experience was the steroid injections were a waste and the side effects an unnecessary risk.

If I were you, I would lay of the knees with an order of about three months rest taking Alleve for relief (no more than two a day) and nothing but walking – with no incline.

It would not surprise me as young as you are that you’re looking at knee replacements down the road

  130. Nidal Hasan’s Imam Praises Fort Hood Massacre
    Monday, November 9, 2009, 5:46 AM
    Jim Hoft

Nidal Hasan was a devout Muslim who reportedly attended mosque daily. His eyes lit up when he spoke of his beloved imam.

This weekend his former preacher weighed in on the Ft. Hood massacre.

Nidal Hassan [sic] is a hero. He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people. This is a contradiction that many Muslims brush aside and just pretend that it doesn’t exist. Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow Muslims, and yet serve as a US soldier. The US is leading the war against terrorism which in reality is a war against Islam. Its army is directly invading two Muslim countries and indirectly occupying the rest through its stooges.

Nidal opened fire on soldiers who were on their way to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. How can there be any dispute about the virtue of what he has done? In fact the only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal.

The heroic act of brother Nidal also shows the dilemma of the Muslim American community. Increasingly they are being cornered into taking stances that would either make them betray Islam or betray their nation. Many amongst them are choosing the former. The Muslim organizations in America came out in a pitiful chorus condemning Nidal’s operation. The fact that fighting against the US army is an Islamic duty today cannot be disputed. No scholar with a grain of Islamic knowledge can defy the clear cut proofs that Muslims today have the right -rather the duty- to fight against American tyranny. Nidal has killed soldiers who were about to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in order to kill Muslims. The American Muslims who condemned his actions have committed treason against the Muslim Ummah and have fallen into hypocrisy.

  131. Obamateurism of the Day
posted at 8:05 am on November 9, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

For our OOTD today, we’re going to revisit Barack Obama’s “Pet Goat” moment from last week. Obama spent two minutes giving shout-outs to his new friends at the Tribal Nations Conference instead of talking to the nation about the shooting at Fort Hood. Even apart from the breathtakingly insensitivity from Obama, he also got this wrong:

THE PRESIDENT: Please, everybody have a seat. Let me first of all just thank Ken and the entire Department of the Interior staff for organizing just an extraordinary conference. I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout-out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you. (Applause.)

Except that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow has not received the Medal of Honor. He has been awarded the Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, not the military Medal of Honor. And Obama should know, since he was the one who presented the award to Dr. Medicine Crow. In fact, he presented the award less than three months ago (h/t HA reader Sheridan):

Also, as anyone in the military will confirm, one does not win a Medal of Honor; they receive it. Many people make that mistake … but one should expect better from the nation’s Commander in Chief.

  134. Video: If ObamaCare is so good …
posted at 12:15 pm on November 9, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Greg Hengler picks his favorite moment from the House debate on Saturday as the moment that Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) asked the question that could easily have been asked twenty years ago today at the Berlin Wall. If the ObamaCare proposal is so good, why do you have to imprison people who don’t want to participate?

We’ve heard from the best and the brightest all afternoon, and not a one of them have answered why it is that you have to criminalize people to coax them into a plan that’s so fabulous. It makes no sense. … The other side, with all due respect, with all the adjectives and all the flourishing speech, have failed to answer that question.

Why can’t they answer? They can’t. They need to force people into the system in order to spread the costs more evenly to everyone, which is why the House took the blatantly unconstitutional path of federal mandates for health insurance. They want to solve a problem involving 13% of the American population by burdening the 87% that doesn’t have the problem at all, rather than looking for a way to reduce health-care costs for 100%.

Ronald Reagan gave a brilliant speech in June 1987 in demanding that Mikhail Gorbachev “tear down this wall,” but he could just as easily have asked Gorbachev to answer this question: If Communism is such a benefit to its people, why do you have to force people to participate in it? The answer: Statism always requires force, and it always strips people of liberty. It always comes with handcuffs. That’s how we know it’s coming.

Could also ask why politicians are exempt

  135. Chavez: American deal with Columbia means war
posted at 12:55 pm on November 9, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

One might be tempted to dismiss Hugo Chavez’ latest saber rattling as meaningless, another crazy statement from a lunatic bent on destroying the wealth of his nation in order to play Mini-Me to the Castro Brothers. However, the move of troops to the Columbian border and the threats Chavez made this weekend of war do not reflect lunacy, but a bid to grab power and influence in Latin America at the expense of a weakened US. He wants the US out of Columbia, and Chavez apparently believes he has an American President he can bully towards that goal:

It took America’s enemies a couple of years to take Jimmy Carter’s measure during the Cold War. It has taken less than that for our enemies to take Barack Obama’s measure. The US has had a military alliance with Columbia for years while Chavez has been in power, under both Democratic and Republican Presidents. However, Chavez never made it a pretext for war until now, although he issued a similar threat last year without moving troops to the border.

Chavez hopes to bluff Obama out of Venezuela. He has backed Columbian rebels for years now, especially the Communist insurgency FARC, which made the mistake of keeping the evidence, discovered in a Columbian raid. He wants to dictate terms to Columbia in the short term and depose its elected government in favor of a socialist regime in the long term. Chavez wants to make Venezuela into what Fidel Castro hoped Cuba would be: a world power intent on humbling the US in our hemisphere. In order to do that, Chavez needs to chase the US out of Latin America altogether and leave a vacuum for Chavez to fill.

Until now, Chavez hasn’t found an American President he could bully into withdrawal. The strange response to the Honduran crisis apparently has Chavez believing that Obama is particularly malleable, although it could also be that Chavez has taken the lesson from Obama’s handling of Iran. It certainly shows that siding with leftists like Chavez, Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, and the Castro brothers in Cuba in support of runaway leftist Manuel Zelaya didn’t endear the US to these martinets. Instead, just like Carter’s feckless foreign policy, it has emboldened those who oppose the US and the agenda of freedom.

Chavez is certainly a nut, but there is a method to this madness, and Columbia should be very, very worried.

  136. RE: “waved what he called the Constitution”

What do you call it? I’m sure you didn’t mean to display such disgust with the Constitution, although I know the simplicity of it disgusts Progressives and Democrats. After all it set an entire country up in under a dozen pages, while it takes today’s Congress 2,000 pages to create one bureaucracy. No wait it’s more than a hundred.

Plus, you fail to make any points by simply impeaching your opponent through name-calling and accusations of “hate.” If protecting American taxpayers hard earned and easily confiscated money is hate then your admired European govts must be hateful. Since they too prohibit health benefits from being paid to illegals and non-taxpayers.

Or perhaps you are calling them hateful because they object to taxpayer dollars being paid to kill people. Since 50% of the nation feels abortion is killing little humans it would be fair to protect their interests. But Progressives are far too selfish to respect the feelings of anyone NOT in lock-step with them. You can object to a Christmas carol because some person who claims to be an atheist might be offended, but fail to understand the offense abortion has to a larger number of compassionate passionate Americans.

As for the poster, NAZI Germany did have a national health care system that encouraged the disposal of the poor, the old, and the undesirable. Abortion was in their arsenal as well as denial of benefits to the old. I haven’t searched your archives but I wonder if you denounced the left when they carried the same posters while protesting Bush and the Republican Congress? I doubt it.

  137. Tex lists “The closing of GITMO with apparently little plan else” as one of Obama’s screw-ups. Mmmm, last time I looked Gitmo was alive and well. Won’t be closed till we find a place for the bad guys.

I had a nice couple of days away from the blog. I will be reading all your comments since I left but I will likely respond to few, or maybe respond in summary. As I said before I left, it was nice to spend Saturday night with folks who knew me when I was 18 and didn’t have to care about all this crap.

  138. “Mmmm, last time I looked Gitmo was alive and well. Won’t be closed till we find a place for the bad guys.”

I forgot it’s been so long….why do we want to close Gitmo again?

  139. New NY-23 Congressman Breaks 4 Campaign Promises In First Hour” Tex, the quality of your posts are slipping. The article does not mention even one of the campaign promises broken. The article is totally devoted to some business beef the author had with Owens prior to the election.

No reputable publication would have even printed the article as it was nothing more than a personal gripe session,

P.S. The article links to the article you SHOULD have cited. Even that article was lame but at least it was on point. 😐

  140. DR,

I think the drones are bummed too. Of course it had to do with terrorism and islam. They can try and spin this phony psychoanalytic crap all they want but the truth is the truth. Whats disturbing is the MSM is trying to do its damnest to place the blame on anything else. Why? Because he is a friggin muslim?

  141. ” I challenge the drones to dispute what you just wrote.” — Elric

How could I challenge the video Tex posted. We all know that two wrongs make a right. So “you did it to us” gives full license for “we’ll do it to you.”

That’s why we’re in the great shape we’re in as a country … we’re all operating as kindergartners.

  142. Here you Bro. – listed as advertised. I see your short break did nothing to dampen your foul mood. Must suck to be a lib these days.

Incredibly weak retort, by the way. You only can challenge one of twelve, and then Rabbit shoots you down with eloquent simplicity.

Think back to 30 years ago and watch history repeat it. Welcome Back, to place where Jimmah took you down… 😆

  143. Tex,

Thats what the drones do. They will just ignore the stuff they can no way defend and try to attack one little thng and call it a victory. Rather Kindergardenish really.

  144. While I feel an apology would just make things worse for Obama, the President better show some leadership next time we are under attack. I don’t give a shit if radical Islam is such a quagmire in his world view.

That was inexcusable. Giving “shout outs” like he is calling in to 97.1 trying to win Lil Wayne tickets.

What a joke. Had Bush ever done something like that, MSM would have crucified him.

Can someone tell this clown the campaign is over. He reminds me of the guy who tries way too hard to be the “cool” teacher in high school.

Give it a rest. You’re Obama. Nobody is going to question your awareness of the Native American experience.

Who the hell let Obama jive and shuck like that?

Curator, Rutherford anybody from the left…was that handled correctly? And if not, why?

  145. break throughs in orthopedics and arthritis haven’t been too impressive if you ask me.

Rabbit, I know your comments were for Tex from a medical advice POV but I just wanted to chime in to agree with the highlighted comment. I’ve worn leg braces ever since I could walk and the biggest “advance” was to go from heavy metal to light plastic. I’ve also gotten a bit of advancement in the knee locking mechanism but that’s it.

Still, I really don’t complain … the braces I have mean the difference between walking and always using a wheelchair so I’m happy for small miracles. (I do use a scooter in my advanced age for longer distances… but that’s more to do with my lungs than my legs.)

Apologies to everyone else for the aside to Rabbit.

How ’bout a shout out? Alluhu Akbar! 😛

See how it works “R”? Pretty quiet weekend, and then you show up and kaboom! It’s like that vacation you take, only to find when you arrive home somebody turned on your hose and let it run all weekend?

    WELCOME BACK! 🙂

  149. You know If we didnt have all these jerkoffs screaming “islamophobia” all the time, these soldiers would be alive today.

So let me see if I understand this. If we arrest everyone who says (religiously inspired) crackpot stuff then our problem will be solved. Are you that naive?

I agree that it is a shame that the red flags with Hasan were ignored. But Hasan could just as easily have kept his thoughts to himself and still have killed 13 people. I think it is actually unusual in this case that Hasan has such a paper trail behind him. What do you hear about most folks who go off like this? “He was such a quiet guy. I would never have expected this from him.”

Multiculturalism and political correctness are easy targets for blame in the aftermath of this. What’s harder is trying to prevent what set Hasan off in the first place. What makes Islam manifest itself in violence in certain people while leaving others peaceful, law abiding citizens? When do the violent aspects of the Muslim ideology mix with clinical mental problems in some of its followers?

This is a much more sensible line of inquiry than just saying “deport all Muslims”.

  150. The guy left a paper trail becuase he is a jihadist. What don’t you get about that? All jihadists leave a trail.

The guy didn’t just “go off”. He didn’t “snap”.

I can tell you still refuse to see the reality of the attack. Nothing “set” Hasan off. This wasn’t an explosion. This was a theological/philosophical expression. I’d rather see terrorist attacks be called “theological expressions” then “man made disasters”…lol

What makes Islam manifest itself in violence in certain people while leaving others peaceful, law abiding citizens?

What made the millions of people buy into Fascism in the 30’s?

I’m not sure that question was too important to the guys who stormed point Omaha.

    Who gives a fuck.

It’s high time we realize that certain cultures are inherently bad. Real bad.

    1. Strict oversight of all immigration to the U.S. from Islamic countries.

    2. Outright ban immigration from certain areas.

3.Strict regulation of all visas coming from Islamic counties

    4. Every mosque in America should be infiltrated by spooks

    5. Lets see Obama’s community organizing skills. Obama should call for the creation of a pro-US, anti jihadist community organization full of moderate Muslims who love Obama. Said group should be unleashed on every Muslim community at the street level.

    6. PC bull shit at universities needs to end. We all need to acknowledge the inherent dangerous realities of the Islamic faith as a whole. These dangers are, in fact, unique to Islam. People should have freedom to express this idea in Universities without fear of losing tenure or getting kicked out of class.

  151. Rutherford shows his Left side strongly here I don’t know which thing bothers me more. Seeing RL in that light or the comments by the other dinks

Alfie, I don’t see how my comments there are not completely consistent with what I write here.

As for the other “dorks”, one calls for people to be educated (don’t see the harm in that) and the other discusses the history of people of different cultures assimilating into US “culture”. I particularly got a big kick out of one of the points made. How fast is the RNC returning and rejecting contributions it receives from Republican Muslims? 😉

  152. Some very good points. The first part is the recognition that is a unique ideology that is prone to violence and oppression. The only real difference between islam and fascism is that islam wraps itself up as a religion so people arent as ready to question its ideology. The walking on eggshells is long past due. Political correctness killed those soldiers as much as the islamic ideology did. And you are right, this guy didnt just snap, he planned it all out days in advance. Theses excuses are really pissing me off. It wasnt stress about going to a war zone. He is a friggin doctor he wouldnt have seen combat. Plus soldiers stressed about going into a combat zones either go AWOL or kill themselves, they dont kill their fellow soldiers.. Thats how I knew it was a muslim.

  153. U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda,

Now, please tell me what the hell went wrong here. Are we really going to believe that US Intelligence is “politically correct”? Or is this the same incompetence that contributed to 9/11.

Am I blaming intelligence for Hasan’s acts? No. Hasan is entirely at fault. But could someone explain to me how the man can try to contact al qaeda and not send off blaring sirens?

  154. Surprise: Obama addresses Berlin on the fall of the Wall

I’m giving you two versions, the unedited BBC transmission and the censored version that ran on Russian state television (which omits the passage about the Declaration of Independence but not, curiously, the one about the Iron Curtain), thus proving that the old Soviet spirit is alive and kicking. Even in a two-and-a-half minute speech about an event as epochal as the fall of the Wall, somehow he finds a way to make it about him:

“Few would have foreseen … that a united Germany would be led by a woman from Brandenburg or that their American ally would be led by a man of African descent. But human destiny is what human beings make of it,” Obama said.

Skip ahead to 4:30 or so of the Russia Today clip to watch Hillary introduce him as “someone who represents the fall of different kinds of walls.” Even here, history is a handmaiden to The One’s grandeur.

Fox News speculated earlier that Obama might have decided against attending in order to avoid annoying his new partners in peace in Moscow. Think they’re wrong? Watch the BBC clip and count the number of times The One names either “Russia” or the “Soviet Union” as the party responsible for the Wall. The closest he gets is the reference to the Iron Curtain; aside from that, all we really learn here is that there was some vague tyrant that used to oppress eastern Europe but has since receded into the mists of history. Ask the Poles and Czechs how they feel about that “recession” in the wake of our new missile defense arrangement.

Be sure to count the number of references to Reagan and Thatcher too.

Something else to piss off the real Americans

  155. “Am I blaming intelligence for Hasan’s acts? No. Hasan is entirely at fault. But could someone explain to me how the man can try to contact al qaeda and not send off blaring sirens?”

A fair question. One that ultimately needs to be answered by the President.

  156. I am so shocked by the way. Looks like, after all the mysterious committee meetings, Obama is, in fact, going to give the go ahead on the 40,000 troops. After the November elections…of course.

  157. DR,

Remember the walls that were suppose to be brought down after 9-11? Well they are back. Plus the guy said quite a few all the wall things anyway. One reason he was sent to Fort Hood for a “fresh start”. Given the political correctness and lawsuits like the ones from “The Flying Imams”, people are leery of speaking out when muslims are acting like….well devote muslims. They are afraid of being smeared as “islamophobes” or even sued.

  158. “Are we really going to believe that US Intelligence is “politically correct”?”

No…but I would say his supervisors, professors, colleagues and neighbors were PC on this one, and were, out of cowardice, silent accomplices .

Rutherford, you would never have reported the guy and you know it.

Love or hate Elric, he might have been the only man in America that could have stopped this thing had he been around.

  159. DR,

You surprised Holder is going? Nothing this politburo surprises me anymore. This is the same thug that got the case against the Black Panthers dropped. Coincidently, a group with islamist ties themselves.

  160. DR,

Ohhh and you are right, I would have reported that jihadists ass and elevated it up the chain if I had to. I could care less if i was branded an “islamopobe”. I am proud to be one.

  162. Am I blaming intelligence for Hasan’s acts? No. Hasan is entirely at fault. But could someone explain to me how the man can try to contact al qaeda and not send off blaring sirens?“– R

And how do you think US intelligence found out? Remember that little NSA wiretapping program focused on external comms? 10 to 1 says that is what found him, because otherwise, it would have been much harder for us to find him.

I’ve said it before, PC does kill, and here is but another example…

  163. Fort Hood: Let’s Drop the Political Correctness
    By David Warren

For a person with old-fashioned values, and an old-fashioned sense of English word meanings, the reports of the Fort Hood massacre were almost as provoking as what happened there. In the larger view of things, they may be more consequential.

Let me make that latter point plain. I am saying the words and attitudes conveyed in the reporting of a massacre can be, and in this case are, more consequential than the massacre itself.

Having said that, I must not leave the impression I think little of the loss of a dozen human beings, the perhaps permanent maiming of many more, and all the consequences of this horror in the lives of their families and friends. But we must not shed crocodile tears. My heart goes out to the victims, but from a great distance: I know none of them personally, I know no one who knows them.

This is my first objection to the “funeral of Diana” rhetoric we keep getting today, promptly from all affected politicians, whenever something bad happens and people get killed. The knowledge that their “touching remarks” are drafted by hard-bitten speechwriting staff, skilled in the professional emulation of human feeling, is something the public should bear constantly in mind.

But let us not only blame bureaucrats for the people who commission their work. President Barack Obama’s display on Thursday made my point more clearly than it usually can be made, for he turned on a dime. He assumed the “presidential grieving tone” over the Fort Hood massacre, the moment after he’d just done an equally scripted segment of light joking banter for the benefit of the Tribal Nations Conference he was addressing. Millions in the television audience must have watched this incredibly cynical “quick flip.” I wonder how many noticed it?

We should not allow ourselves to be moved by the cold hearts of professional tear-jerkers because when we reward that kind of thing we help perpetuate an emotional order that is dangerously false. We should instead be annoyed by attempts to manipulate us.

Falsehood has more consequences than the revelation of personal insincerity. What happened at Fort Hood was no kind of “tragedy.” It was a criminal act, of the terrorist sort, performed by a man acting upon known Islamist motives. To present the perpetrator himself as a kind of “victim” — a man emotionally distressed by his impending assignment to Afghanistan or Iraq — is to misrepresent the reality.

This man was a professional psychiatrist, assigned to help soldiers cope with traumas. Is this the profile of a man with no control over his own emotions? It appears he had hired a lawyer to get him out of the military before his deployment overseas. Is this consistent with spontaneity?

He reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar!” before opening fire on American soldiers. Would that perhaps offer a little hint of the actual motive? He shot about 40 people, over 10 minutes, with two pistols, neither of them military issue. Might that perhaps suggest premeditation?

  164. Gorilla,

Amazing all the things that Bush was criticized for invoking by guys like Rutherford and Curator, international wire taps being one, not only apparently works but when implemented, but apparently has saved many lives. And the only thing preventing it working better is the cowardly, politically correct crowd.

I’ll be damned if I’ll ever understand the liberal mind – especially one like Curator that not only should know better, but might have his own flesh and blood protected by intelligence.

  165. RE: “waved what he called the Constitution”

What do you call it? I’m sure you didn’t mean to display such disgust with the Constitution

Welcome, AnAmericanIdiot. You are aware that the Green Day anthem was “Don’t wanna be an American idiot”. Not something to be overly proud of.

Well, yes I do call the Constitution the Constitution but since Boehner quoted the Declaration of Independence I figured he might not be waving the Constitution after all. I’ve read in some places that a lot of the mini-Constitutions they hand out in Washington have the DoI in the beginning of them so maybe the poor guy got confused and read the first page he saw? Heaven knows some excuse needs to be found for him.

And yes, American (I figure you’d rather be called that for short than Idiot 🙂 ) you are absolutely right. It is so important that our protesters make us see how health insurance reform is just one slippery step away from eliminating undesirables. Keep reading the comments section American, and you will find lots of company here.

  166. “R”,

I’ve worn leg braces ever since I could walk and the biggest “advance” was to go from heavy metal to light plastic. I’ve also gotten a bit of advancement in the knee locking mechanism but that’s it.

None of my damn business, but spina bifida?

Rutherford, know this. For all of the crap I give you, most of it well deserved as your politics and faith completely contrary to mine, I do have to admit that I admire you for what you’ve achieved. I was giving no problems other than a poor excuse for a father, but I never had to deal with the hassles you have.

No faux sympathy – just the fact you’ve had to overcome more than your fair share, done so, and I can’t help but respect that. 😉

  167. Rutherford, you would never have reported the guy and you know it.

Rabbit, I wrote many moons ago about a blog I had read, written by some dude who was seriously down on his luck and was making not so veiled threats of violence. I was so disturbed by it that I was tempted to call the blog to the attention of law enforcement. Truth is, I didn’t because 90% of folks who write this kind of stuff on the Internet are impotent crackpots who wouldn’t hurt a fly. If this guy ever acts out, I will feel pretty damn guilty but I just couldn’t see reporting the guy. (BTW, Tex read the blog at the time and felt I was being melodramatic … so you see, what one guy sees as clear and present danger, another sees as a harmless crackpot.)

I can’t blame casual acquaintances of Hasan. Let’s be honest Rabbit, how many folks jump on a table and start randomly shooting people? You just don’t believe it is going to happen. Now, the CIA … that’s another story, If this dude was being monitored because of his web site, and his communication with al qaeda connections was verified and this info was turned over to local law enforcement, and then no follow up was done then THAT is a dropped ball.

  168. This man was a professional psychiatrist, assigned to help soldiers cope with traumas. Is this the profile of a man with no control over his own emotions?

    This is patently absurd.

Look, we know enough at this time to make a 90% accurate assessment that the dude was radicalized and that was the primary influence over his behavior but to use his profession as a method to prove your point is ridiculous. Being a psychiatrist has absolutely nothing to do with being sane. In fact, most psychiatrists and psychologists are strongly encouraged to go into therapy themselves just to cope with the crap they hear day in and day out. So, please, this notion that Hasan’s profession meant he could control his emotions is just plain malarkey.

There’s a great George Carlin joke that is apropos here and I paraphrase: “Somewhere in the world is the world’s worst doctor, and someone has an appointment with him tomorrow.”

  169. None of my damn business, but spina bifida?

Nope, “congenital anomalies” nice language for birth defects. No actual “prognosis” that I know of (e.g, spina bifida or muscular dystrophy or cerebral palsy), just stuff not put together in the “right” places. Scoliosis developed secondary to the other stuff. Actually, since you’re hip to the medical jargon, one phrase that might resonate with you is “contractures”.

Just about every joint at a 90 degree angle, corrected to the greatest amount possible by multiple surgeries from age 1 to 5. (One of my earliest memories is fearing the cast cutter would cut my toes off … oh and the smell of ether. For the longest time as a kid I couldn’t go into a dry cleaner because I was terrified by the smell).

I appreciate the compliment Tex but in all seriousness I think one thing that has benefited me besides having great parents was the belief that I was no worse off than most people. We’ve all got our burdens and my life, since it’s the only one I’ve ever known, has been easier for me to live than you might imagine.

P.S. The other great thing about growing up disabled is at least in the early years you go to school only with other disabled kids and you learn first hand that here is nothing angelic about them. There are nice ones, and there are pricks who should have their crutch shoved up their ass. 🙂

  170. “Love or hate Elric, he might have been the only man in America that could have stopped this thing had he been around.”

    Damn right. Im an “islamophobe”

  171. Comment to Gorilla … you seem to think I was calling you a racist because you went to the Bachmann “press conference”. That is definitely not what I was implying. I was making two points. First, that you, just like John Boehner, give tacit approval to offensive protest signs by being there. Second, that I find it awfully puzzling that so few blacks were there that it was virtually impossible to see them in the TV coverage.

Do I happen to think blacks who like Bachmann are fools? Yes. I also think whites who like Bachmann are fools. But the fact that the Tea Party movement seems predominantly white, when its supposed “issues” should be of concern to everyone across racial lines, makes some flags raise for me.

But no, Gorilla, I don’t think you’re a racist. I don’t know you personally. But based on what you’ve written here and in your own blog, I have no reason to think you’re a racist. I really don’t think Tex is a racist … I just got sick and tired of him baiting me. In fact, G, from everything you’ve written, I believe you’re the kind of patriot who would hit the holocaust sign dude over the head. We fought to put an end to that kind of barbaric behavior and then to accuse our own government of perpetrating the same thing? It’s shameful and you know it.

  172. You know what? I’m going to say something here that will shock all in attendance. When it comes to a dude like Hasan, we did indeed need someone like Elric to see the thing through to its conclusion and at the very least, get Hasan out of the military. Unless Elric is all talk and no action (the jury is out for me on this one), Elric would have gotten the job done.

  173. Figures… Obama Skips Anniversary of Fall of Berlin Wall, Sends a Video & Talks About Himself
    Monday, November 9, 2009, 9:01 PM
    Jim Hoft

One international leader was conspicuously absent at the 20 Year Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall today.

Even the Russian President made it there.

    Obama sent a video instead.
    Germany Wall Anniversary
U.S. President Barack Obama is seen on screens during a video message at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, during the commemorations of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov.9, 1989. (AP/Markus Schreiber)

Even worse- Obama spoke about himself to the crowd:

“Few would have seen on that day that… that their American ally would be led by a man of African descent.”

And, of course, he did not mention Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher in his speech.

    http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2009/11/unreal-obama-sends-video-to-germany-on-anniversary-of-fall-of-berlin-wall/

  174. But the fact that the Tea Party movement seems predominantly white, when its supposed “issues” should be of concern to everyone across racial lines, makes some flags raise for me.“– R

I don’t know why you’re just now noticing this, but this has been an issue for blacks for many, many moons. The undying support you give to the Dems, who created the KKK, who created Jim Crow laws, who pushed the segregationist policies, and who have consistently failed to raise the standard of living for blacks is mind boggling. The Dems have done more damage to the black community than any other single political group, yet like lemmings, you jump over the cliff over and over again. I’m convinced that the black community is suffering from battered wife syndrome.

Just about every successful black I know (who had to earn their living from their own hard work) despises the Dems for who and what they are: manipulators and abusers. You are a fool if you think they actually care, just like those idiot Dems who think that Pelosi and company will keep their word on this healthcare bill. Hell, they’re already trying to get the Stupak amendment pulled out of the final bill, which means all those blue dogs who thought they were going to at least have the pro-life mantra to survive 2010, will be stabbed in the back. No amendment and the vote for the bill. We have a word for this: fratricide.

  175. Gorilla,

These race baiting drones act like the tea party people ban people that arent white. If non whites want their government to intrude into every aspect of their life and control them, that isnt whitey’s fault, its theirs.

  176. As President Obama belatedly appears at Fort Hood today, will he dare to speak the word “terror?”

He won’t use the word “Islamist.” If he mentions Islam at all, it’ll be to sing its praises yet again.

We’ve already learned that Islamist terrorist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan attended the Northern Virginia mosque of Imam Anwar al-Aulaqi, a fiery al Qaeda supporter who later fled the United States. We know that Hasan’s peers, subordinates and patients repeatedly raised red flags that his superiors suppressed. We know he was a player on Islamist-extremist Web sites. The FBI’s uncovering one extremist link after another.

But to call this an act of terrorism, the White House would need an autographed photo of Osama bin Laden helping Hasan buy weapons in downtown Killeen, Texas. Even that might not suffice.

Islamist terrorists don’t all have al Qaeda union cards in their wallets. Terrorism’s increasingly the domain of entrepreneurs and independent contractors. Under Muslim jurisprudence, jihad’s an individual responsibility. Hasan was a self-appointed jihadi.

Yet we’re told he was just having a bad day.

    http://www.weaselzippers.net/blog/2009/11/why-wont-obama-say-islamist-or-terrorism-when-describing-ft-hood-attack.html

  177. Tingles on Ft. Hood Suspect Warning Signal: “That’s Not a Crime to Call al-Qaeda, Is It?'”…

This is one reason why it is so hard to have reasoned debate, particularly with Elric.

I can attempt to call anyone I want and it’s not a crime. I can talk to a criminal and depending on the content of the conversation it is not a crime. So Chris Matthews has said nothing stupid here at all. He’s asking the very simple question of when does our behavior cross the line sufficiently that we can be picked up by the police and prevented from doing further harm. Chris Matthews’ biggest problem is he makes speeches instead of asking questions and then shutting the hell up. Beyond that, there was nothing stupid at all in his question. (One answer to this question lies in the film “Minority Report” where there is a “pre-crime” unit that can tell through futuristic technology when someone is planning to commit a crime. Once they finger you as a future perp, they get you off the street.)

By the way, that is the crux of Rod Blagojevich’s defense. He can talk about “selling” a Senate seat until the cows come home but until he crosses the line of conspiracy to commit a crime, a crime hasn’t been committed. It will be interesting to see how Blago’s trial turns out.

Finally, I will be posting this entire Chris Matthews interview later today if I can find it. There’s a much more important point made in the entire interview … one that should please even Elric.

  178. The other great thing about growing up disabled is at least in the early years you go to school only with other disabled kids and you learn first hand that here is nothing angelic about them. There are nice ones, and there are pricks who should have their crutch shoved up their ass.

Oh, no doubt. The company I used to work for several years ago was the biggest sponsor of MDA in the nation. They’d give between like 2-4MM a year, so Jerry Lewis would actually attend their conventions and give a speech.

I’ll never forget I was in attendance one year and for whatever reason some people with muscular dystrophy of some sort were protesting Jerry Lewis for something he had done or said. So Jerry Lewis in front of a couple of thousand folks at a professional business convention with their spouses (mostly wives) gets up and says, “I think you for your contribution to MDA – I love you all. However, don’t think just because someone is handicapped with MD, it prevents many of them from being total assholes.”

I started snickering, as if somebody had farted in the elevator.

  179. Just about every successful black I know (who had to earn their living from their own hard work) despises the Dems

G, could this be because most of your friends are conservatives and that mind-set cuts across racial lines? In other words, I don’t think you can extrapolate the views of hard working blacks totally on who you know.

Don’t you think Spike Lee works hard? So do a truckload of other black entertainers, athletes and businessmen who support the Dem party.

As for the pro-life amendment to the health care bill, I don’t think you have much to worry about. Pro-life Dem’s say they’ll vote against it if the amendment is taken out and pro-choice Dem’s say they’ll vote against it if the amendment stays in. Looks like a stalemate to me …. could very well sink the whole bill.

Isn’t it interesting that while every Rep except Cao “just said no”, the Dem’s actually argued over an issue? I find it fascinating that you have Dem’s to thank for the current bill’s pro-life tilt.

  180. As President Obama belatedly appears at Fort Hood today, will he dare to speak the word “terror?”

Considering you lambasted the Prez for being tone deaf in his initial remarks on this matter, don’t you think it bad taste to go a memorial for the fallen soldiers and then launch into a diatribe against Islam? Not the time or place, if you ask me.

  181. Attorney General to speak to Hamas-linked CAIR despite FBI ban

Right after Dawud Walid of CAIR-Michigan was defending the jihadist imam who was killed in a shootout with the FBI. Yet another Which-Side-Is-Obama-On Alert: “Despite ban, Holder to speak to CAIR-linked group,” from Politico, November 9 (thanks to all who sent this in):

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/11/attorney-general-to-speak-to-hamas-linked-cair-despite-fbi-ban.html

Its pretty obvious whose side al-Thuggy is on. Same side that Hasan was on.

  182. Nidal Hasan explains the Koran and Islam

Here is Nidal Hasan’s PowerPoint presentation about Islam, Muslims, and the military. Note the copious quoting of the Koran; the explanation of the doctrine of abrogation (citing Koran 2:106 and 16:101), which usually Islamic apologists in the West dismiss as an invention of “Islamophobes”; and the explanations of defensive and offensive jihad.

Islamic spokesmen in the U.S., if anyone asks them to comment on this at all, will dismiss it as an “extremist” interpretation of Islam and claim that no Muslims in the U.S., not one, believe in this understanding of Islam. But I guarantee you that none of the, not one, will offer a specific alternative explanation of the verses he cites, or of his doctrine of jihad, or of his understanding of Islam.

If anyone does come across an attempt, or the appearance of an attempt, to refute Nidal Hasan’s Koranic exegesis, please send it to me at director[at]jihadwatch.org, and I will happily feature and discuss it here.

UPDATE: Here is a pdf of the slides (thanks to Joe).

  183. Rutherford we’ll have to agree to disagree on your response to me in the early 200 range. Quite frankly I cannot recall where on your blog I’ve seen you stand where you were there. Of course there you were amongst fellow travelers and not in an adversarial position. I won’t take up your space disputing the points I got from reading the other comments there.

I’m curious about this line from you in response to G:

Don’t you think Spike Lee works hard? So do a truckload of other black entertainers, athletes and businessmen who support the Dem party.

Isn’t it fair to ponder why they support the Dems as equally as examining those that support center right policies ? In your opinion couldn’t black America serve itself well taking a stand in the center if not center right ?

  184. “I can attempt to call anyone I want and it’s not a crime. I can talk to a criminal and depending on the content of the conversation it is not a crime.”-R

Rutherford, you are clearly forgetting this guy is in an officer in the military. In simple English, he continually told other officers and professors that he has no intention of upholding the oath all servicemen, even the Rabbit, has to make.

Have we gotten so screwed up in the head that corresponding with the enemy as a uniformed servicemen doesn’t break this oath?

By the way, are you still defending Obama’s shout outs or do you now admit this was poor leadership?

  185. And you basically ignore the gist of my comment…can you say denial?

Isn’t it interesting that while every Rep except Cao “just said no”, the Dem’s actually argued over an issue? I find it fascinating that you have Dem’s to thank for the current bill’s pro-life tilt.” — R

Isn’t it interesting how the Dems wouldn’t argue any of the bills with Republicans? Come on R, be honest here, how can the Administration claim a desire for a bipartisan bill but not invite any Republicans to the White House since April? Dems locked out Republicans when writing the bill, oh so bipartisan of them, nor would they consider a large protion of the GOP’s ammendments to the bill.

Cao, from Louisiana- a state renowned for its self reliance and honest character ;), bucked the party for what he figures is a mute point anyway. Who knows, when your copnstituency can barely read, I suppose handing out other peoples money sounds great. Been working for Dems for decades…

So really, again, please don’t talk to me about honest debate because anything but has occurred in this healthcare debacle.

  186. By the way, are you still defending Obama’s shout outs or do you now admit this was poor leadership?

I’m not sure what this has to do with leadership per se. Obama’s only mistake to my way of thinking was cutting corners by addressing the Native American gathering and commenting on Hood at the same time. He should have devoted a separate “presser” to Hood either before his remarks to the Native Americans or after.

  187. Gorilla, my understanding is that the various forms of the bill contained loads of amendments from Republicans. They were not shut out. Furthermore, when they finally offered up their version (I believe last week) it addressed few of the goals of reform.

If you need a perfect symbol of Republican cooperation, go to Sensico’s blog and find the video of Republicans repeating “I object” over and over again to obstruct the proceedings. Truly, the kids in my daughter’s Kindergarten class could make more progress.

  188. Isn’t it fair to ponder why they support the Dems as equally as examining those that support center right policies?

Alfie, it’s fair to ponder just about anything. We should always learn what informs someone’s political perspective so we can better understand it.

My only point to Gorilla was that I felt he was implying that hard working blacks are conservative and lazy ones are Dem’s. That’s why I listed a bunch of hard working blacks who are Dem’s. Simple as that.

  189. Obama runs interference for Islamic jihad at Fort Hood

The cognitive dissonance here is that Major Hasan and many other Muslims clearly believe that their faith does justify these “murderous and craven acts.” By ruling out a priori any investigation of that fact, Obama is foreclosing on any serious analysis of what motivated this attack. That in turn will foreclose any serious analysis of what can be done to prevent there being another like it. “What Pres. Obama told a wounded Fort Hood – text,” from the Los Angeles Times, November 10 (thanks to Marisol):

It may be hard to comprehend the twisted logic that led to this tragedy. But this much we do know – no faith justifies these murderous and craven acts; no just and loving God looks upon them with favor. And for what he has done, we know that the killer will be met with justice – in this world, and the next.

These are trying times for our country. In Afghanistan and Pakistan, the same extremists who killed nearly 3,000 Americans continue to endanger America, our allies, and innocent Afghans and Pakistanis. In Iraq, we are working to bring a war to a successful end, as there are still those who would deny the Iraqi people the future that Americans and Iraqis have sacrificed so much for.

Well AI, I admit to having too much sport with your name. Cheap shot. I still find it hard to believe you search for a rationale for the Dachau sign but to each his own I suppose.

    RE:Attending D.C. rally

I’ve read conflicting reports about attendance numbers. Some report 10k while DC report +4k. What’s your assessment about the numbers?

Further, can you also say for sure that everyone in attendance at Thursday’s Michelle Bachman-planned anti-health care tea party was a Republican?

In your opinion, is the matter of being against this particular bill strictly in the domain of Republicans?

  192. Wanna see hate? Try this:

Google Images using the following search words.

    kill clinton
    kill bush
    kill obama

Compare the volume of the content against each other. When you do, you will see that the hate overwhelmingly comes from the left.

Even when you combine the tally of the two liberal presidents above, it still does not even come close to eclipsing the number of hate posters bush.

  193. Of course not. I don’t condone “payback”.

I’m just calling attention to your one-sided supposition that Republicans are hate-filled while showing evidence that most of the hate seems to be coming from the left.

  194. My belief is that the hate-signs represent a minority view among those on the left and right. While the media singles out 1 sign in a crowd, the all-too-willing are prone to believe it represents the thinking of the majority. While media (deliberately) distorts, the viewer fills in the gaps with their version of the truth.

What's on your mind?
