How the Death Panel Gets You Your 15 Minutes of Fame

This morning I watched the extended interview between Jon Stewart and Betsy McCaughey and I have to admit it saddens me that it takes a comedian to show what a horse’s ass this woman is. If only this interview could have been conducted before Sarah Palin took the dynamite stick and lit a match to it, perhaps the entire “Death Panel” controversy could have been averted.

For your reference, here are links to the full interview:

While Ms. McCaughey apparently lost her Director position at a medical device company, she at least managed to get more than her 15 minutes of fame. This got me to thinking that perhaps my fast track to fame could go similarly. Join me on a flight of fancy for a few moments:

The House of Representatives writes a bill to help inner city kids. A portion of Bill 1234ABC appears below:

Article 1.
Every year, 2.5 million dollars shall be allocated across the country to establish and maintain playgrounds in inner city neighborhoods so that children will have a safe and constructive place to congregate, keeping them off the streets and out of mischief.

Article 2.
To monitor the progress of this program, volunteers shall be solicited by the government to periodically visit these playgrounds, observe the activities and conditions there, and report back on findings.

Blogger Rutherford Lawson reads the bill and alarms go off in his head. Who are these volunteers monitoring the playgrounds? Will they be given background checks as part of the volunteer process? Bill sounds dangerous. We don’t want “strange” people observing kids at playgrounds.

Lawson’s comments go into limited circulation until they are seen by several vocal national figures. The story progresses:

Sarah Palin writes on her Facebook page: “I will not allow my Down Syndrome baby to grow up in a country that allows child rapists to salivate over his every move! A country that allows this is a country that is evil.”

House Minority Leader John Boehner comments: “I knew that President Obama and I disagreed on a lot of policy issues, but I never believed until now that he supported perverts.”

Michele Bachmann: “This is the first step down a slippery slope to Saddam and Gonorrhea! Oh, by the way, God told me to say that.”

Michelle Malkin: “My investigative efforts have unearthed the following critical fact. Have you ever noticed that in the immediate aftermath of Michael Jackson’s death, Obama never condemned the freak for his history of child abuse? What does this say about our President?”

Before you know it, the protesters are out in full force. This is just one of the posters seen at rallies:

Uncle Sam Perv

Well, now all I need to do is find a real bill, totally distort it, and then I’m off to the races!

Respectfully,
Rutherford

  1. Not to be pedantic and ruin your fixation about Sarah Palin (I’ve now decided you must have a crush on her), but every doctor I’ve talked to at the medical college at least either marginally or completely agrees with Sarah Palin about government death panels for lack of a better term. Actually, they would refer to it as minimizing geriatric and terminal health care which is a nicer way of saying deciding who receives care and who doesn’t, which is nicer way of saying “death panels.”

Are they stupid too, including two of the world’s most renowned pathologists?

  2. Video: Marine goes nuclear on Democrat over ObamaCare

Via, er, HotAirPundit, red meat courtesy of the good folks who hijacked our last thread. The Democrat in question is Brian “Brown Shirts” Baird, thus the pounding he takes here is extra gratifying. Not sure I follow the Marine’s point about what right the feds have to tell him he can keep his insurance plan, though. Presumably he’s making a Commerce Clause argument a la Rivkin and Casey, but if growing weed on your own farm for your own use constitutes “quintessentially” economic activity, wouldn’t a program that affects 15 percent of the entire U.S. economy also qualify? If the public wants single-payer, hey — that’s democracy, red in tooth and claw.

  3. Good news: Feds pulling workers away from FAA to staff exploding Cash for Clunkers bureaucracy

Move along. No cautionary tales to see here.

Employees of the FAA’s air-traffic-control unit were asked to help, but the Transportation Department stressed Friday that essential safety personnel were not diverted from their duties.

A total of 1,200 workers, including about 300 contractors from Citigroup, the financial services giant, are now working seven days a week to review applications and reimburse auto dealers for rebates advanced to customers, officials said.

The department tripled its program staff to 1,100 last week, and recently added another 100 headquarters employees…

The National Automobile Dealers Association, which had endorsed the move, urged the Obama administration late Friday to extend the deadline because the program’s Web site was crashing.

Percentage of dealer claims that had been reimbursed by the feds as of Thursday: Seven. How bad does a program have to be to goose sales as much as C4C has and still be badmouthed by the industry? This bad, I guess:

Laura Sodano, a sales manager at Curry Chevrolet in Scarsdale, N.Y., said dealers were not told why their applications had not been approved and were having to review the entire form to determine what went wrong.

“I don’t know one dealership that’s gotten paid yet,” Ms. Sodano said. “If they run out, we’re in trouble. It’s bringing us a lot of traffic, but it’s not a very good program.”…

If the funding is exhausted before all reimbursements are made, some dealers — and possibly G.M. — could end up having to write off the unpaid credits.

There’s actually a serious risk here that the feds are going to mismanage a simple car-rebate program into bankruptcy. Oh, and more good news: Confirming earlier suspicions, it’s foreign carmakers that are getting the lion’s share of the sales. Exit question: Which is more frightening as an omen for ObamaCare’s future problems? Yesterday’s $2 trillion upwards budget revision or this wheezing canary in the coal mine?

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/08/22/good-news-feds-pulling-workers-away-from-faa-to-staff-exploding-cash-for-clunkers-bureaucracy/

Jesus Christ Dodger. What it going to take for you to realize that these morons couldnt run a 7-11 let alone 15 percent of the economy? And this is a serious question.

  4. Rutherford is Palin.

Without Rutherford’s fetish, Palin simply doesn’t exist in my world. Not that I hate her or even dismiss her as an influential voice in America. It’s just that I wouldn’t know what the hell she’s up to if not for her number one fan stroking himself silly.

Rutherford, do you wear a trench coat when you write about her? Probably blogged this in a Starbucks too, you perv.

Or maybe you’ve built one of those serial killer shrines made up of newspaper clippings and Palin pictures in some hidden basement room. The flicker of candles exposing your obsession.

I went back and counted 87 times Rutherford has blogged or commented on Palin.

Guess how many times Rutherford blogged about Edwards?

    Yeah. You guessed it.

Lets look at this other, not so talked about Vice Presidential candidate, shall we?

Edwards, a senator, was a sliver away from being Vice President in ‘04.

In the following presidential election, thousands of people dedicated everything they had and effortlessly worked to make the man President of the United States. He was a member of the Big 3 in the Primary and at times influenced the direction of discourse for the entire Democratic Party.

A true sociopath, Edwards accepted this heartfelt devotion despite knowing the inevitable. He knew he would be busted for an affair but compartmentalized the whole thing. Scot Peterson style.

The man now faces possible jail time over the fact he used campaign funds to pay this whore.

All of this goes down while his wife is in a life and death struggle with breast cancer.

He only comes clean after he is physically trapped by cameramen as he attempted to hide in a motel bathroom.

    Well….kind of clean.
He claimed it was only a short affair.

    Well…not very clean at all.

He refused to claim to be the father of the baby he spawned.

The icing on the cake: He is the biggest dick-head in the world. A narcissist of epic proportions, he looks like a bad guy from a comedy in the 1980s. The preppy asshole who gets his just desserts only at the end of the flick.

    Does art imitate life?

No, Rutherford never mentioned this guy. It’s as if he never existed.

Now go back and compare how many times Rutherford has written about Palin.

If vice presidential candidates are such fodder for Rutherford’s blog, don’t you think that just one of the 87 times would have centered around this dangerous, sick fuck?

  5. I’ve decided Rutherford’s obsessed, puerile stalking of Sarah Palin has become so tedious, I’m going to start simply ignoring the posts Rabbit and Elric.

The Left in the country has become so desperate for any shred of good news they can take credit for deserved or otherwise, the smarter ones like “R” are having to resort to their own form of bogeyman because they’ve run out of excuses and time to explain away the abject failure and unpopularity. The Democratic party has been handed the power and now failed miserably at every turn.

I’m just surprised that the Left has not dragged George Bush into the blame game again. I don’t know if that repeat will come before or after the charges of racism to hide the incompetence of Obama.

One thing is for sure. We don’t know how Sarah Palin would have performed as President. But it could not be anymore pathetic than the inept asshole calling the shots now. 😉

  6. Tex, I almost didn’t read it myself. And I read everything Rutherford writes!

But, yeah…I was thinking the same thing.

Not that he cares, but the Rabbit is done reading more Palin stuff in the future unless there is something of merit for her to be blogged about. And, considering she is now just another unemployed Alaskan, I don’t know how this would be possible.

  7. LOL I find this fascinating! Sarah Palin was one of several people I took shots at in this piece and the focus of the piece really was Betsy McCaughey.

So tell me, after reading a piece that mentioned Sarah Palin only twice, all of my commenters so far jump on the “defend Sarah train” and one goes so far as to count the number of times she’s been mentioned in my blog. Now I ask you …. who is the obsessed one?

By the way Rabbit, I hope your count of my Palin references is more accurate than your count of the Gitmo people being transferred to Michigan. I find 87 a bit hard to believe, even from me who admittedly has a bordering-on-irrationally visceral reaction to the woman.

Now you mentioned John Edwards. I’ll tell you why Edwards didn’t merit mention in my blog. Liberals and conservatives alike find his behavior reprehensible. What is there to write about? When the revelations of his infidelity came to light, I saw liberals all over the air waves shaking their heads in shame. Some of them, incredibly angry that this man could have wound up the nominee and then what would have happened once the truth came out?

On the other hand, there is not a single conservative on the airwaves willing to call Sarah Palin out for the crackpotted dimwit that she is. When any leading conservative voice is asked about her, the worst you will hear is “she is one of many strong contenders”. What some of them want to say is “she is an incredible embarrassment to the Republican party” but those words are never spoken. So, perhaps I feel it is my duty to provide honest Republicans with a place where they can admit to their shame and disappointment in Sarah, the VP candidate, and Sarah the potential Presidential candidate. (Name me one prominent conservative voice besides Clown Limbaugh, who says she is their top pick for Pres nominee in 2012. But rather than dismiss her, they say “she’s one of many strong contenders”. What’s happened to your bullsh*t meter gentlemen?)

However, where this piece is concerned, I plead not guilty. I mentioned her here because of her pivotal role in taking McCaughey’s baseless claim and igniting it into a major conflagration with some well (or ill) chosen words: “Death Panel”. That’s why in my fictional account, I had her say “child rapist” to emphasize her ability to use incendiary language to stir (and frighten) the masses.

Quite honestly, from a pure humor perspective, I had a lot more fun with Michele Bachmann whom I believe really makes Sarah look like a rocket scientist.

  8. We don’t know how Sarah Palin would have performed as President. But it could not be anymore pathetic than the inept asshole calling the shots now.

With this one comment Tex, you have lost all credibility. Would Sarah have continued the Bush Doctrine? Don’t see how since she didn’t know what it was.

And let’s say, throwing all sanity to the wind for a moment, that between her election last November and Januuary 20th, she crammed like a mofo and mastered all the key issues. We would still have that reality-TV-show family of hers providing constant fodder for the media. No, Tex, I assure you, you don’t want Sarah running this country.

  9. every doctor I’ve talked to at the medical college at least either marginally or completely agrees with Sarah Palin about government death panels for lack of a better term.

Who said doctors were immune from being ignorant rubes?

There are no death panels. Plain and simple. Now, if anyone wants to make the argument that cuts in Medicare, which provide money to finance the broadened health care program might result in compromised care for the elderly, that’s an issue worth debating. But only a fool debates the merits of reimbursing doctors for consulting with their patients on living wills. As was stated in the Jon Stewart interview (again it’s a shame that a comedian has provided the best exposure of what nonsense this is) living wills can serve to demand that all life sustaining methods be employed. They are not synonymous with DNR directives. So this idea that encouraging the creation of a living will is tantamount to setting up euthanasia plans is patently absurd.

Interestingly, McCaughey tips her hand accidentally in the interview. When her stand against mandatory end of life planning starts to deflate in front of a live audience, she switches gears slightly and talks about how she doubts the program can be financed without hurting the elderly. Different argument entirely. And an argument that tells me that McCaughey doesn’t really care about “death panels”. She’s against health care reform, Period. She’s been on the side of the for-profit health industry and knows which side of her bread the butter is on. (What I just learned today was that her opposition to health care reform dates all the way back to Clinton, where she told a whole different batch of lies to defeat that plan.)

  10. lol…I actually made that 87 part up.

I figured as much but thanks for admitting it. 🙂 (By the way, damn good choice of number. 87, an odd number, somehow has a ring of credibility to it.) 😉

  11. However, where this piece is concerned, I plead not guilty. I mentioned her here because of her pivotal role in taking McCaughey’s baseless claim and igniting it into a major conflagration with some well (or ill) chosen words: “Death Panel”.

Baloney. You’re not even being truthful now.

You mentioned Sarah Palin daily because your hero ain’t doing too well and you think she makes an easy target for retaliation for millions making fun of Brotha Obama and his laughably bad performance (which you now can’t hide when asked to show us the money). His one abject failure after another has become very personal for you.

Admit it “R”. You hitched your wagon to a smooth talking used car salesman in a houndstooth coat, politics your religion, and now you’re getting blitzed on your own blog as we pile on daily because Obama has become a global disgrace. LIBERALISM HAS FAILED YET ONCE AGAIN AND DAMN NEAR EVERYBODY KNOWS IT. America got their 16 year wake up call in less than seven months as to what a pile of shit your philosophy is. You saw Obama as your deliverance and one of a kind. And without giving much thought to much else, you cast your aspirations of Hope & Change on an unqualified megalomaniac It is killing you that people, many who voted for this self-serving horse’s ass, are now turning on him in less than a year. So you have to resort to baseless charges of he’s being judged differently, stupid Sarah Palin, racism blah blah blah.

Obama’s inane decisions and the pathetic bunch of thieves he surrounded himself with have provided me political humor that I have not had since Monica was blowing Bill. I’m going to mock his sorry ass some more and root for his imminent demise so that he becomes a pariah in written lore. When people hear the name Obama 20 years from now, I want them to have the visceral reaction of having just listened to Geraldo Rivera, and everybody that voted for Big O ashamed to admit as such.

    Geraldo Obama!

  12. It just occurred to me that perhaps the reason you boys have pounced on the Palin reference is that you cannot in your wildest imaginations defend Michele Bachmann. LOL 🙂

Here’s one for you guys … try defending this one.
Michele (VERY pro-life) Bachmann made this statement on the radio recently:

“That’s why people need to continue to go to the town halls, continue to melt the phone lines of their liberal members of Congress,” said Bachmann, “and let them know, under no certain circumstances will I give the government control over my body and my health care decisions.”

    from TPM.

OK who wants to take a crack at that one? Elric? Tex? DR? BiW? Gorilla? Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha 😀

  13. Who said doctors were immune from being ignorant rubes?

Maybe, but being physicians are the ones closest to the situation, what makes you think Big O ain’t the ignorant rube? We’ve already witnessed Brotha Obama lie thru his teeth about the administration of medicine and show his ass about how fucking ignorant he is about the practice of such.

Ain’t the doctors looking foolish about right now “R”, if you haven’t noticed.

  14. Actually, and I don’t know why but there were many liberals on my blog denying that John Edwards had an affair, it was actually fascinating. btw, the whole first part of this thread is hilarious especially the comment about wearing trench coat in starbucks, it just rings awkwardness.
Maybe on the flip side, it would have been worse if we’d not be talking about the death panel rumor. There were many false rumors about obama during the campaign, but they seen to grow like wildfire when unaddressed. Then once the rumors were addressed, we all pretty much chopped it up to be crazy rightwing fringe lunatics. Same here, I mean based on polling, the death panel thing isn’t something the majority thinks to be true. Maybe it would have been higher if gone unaddressed and unbunked.

  15. Rutherford, in my case, sometimes we simply are on a different wave length.

I’m not a Republican. At least not a registered one. I don’t look at politics worrying about who the Republican front runner will be 3 years from now. I really don’t care if conservatives are or are not being honest about what they think of Palin running in ’12. Who gives a shit about that stuff?

Personally, I feel she has no business running for President after quitting her last job so abruptly.

Tex may disagree with me. But, I can promise you we aren’t going to have some shoot out on here over it becuase we both aren’t obsessed with her.

I think Palin is sometimes a dunce and not presidential material. I also believe she brings an interesting and much needed perspective to politics. While her voice does matter, I’m not checking her face book page on a daily basis like you liberals do.

Hell, I wish Charles Krauthammer would run for President now that I think of it.

That dude rings true to the Rabbit.

    Krauthammer in ’12

  16. Yeah, I’ll take a crack.

“That’s why people need to continue to go to the town halls, continue to melt the phone lines of their liberal members of Congress,” said Bachmann, “and let them know, under no certain circumstances will I give the government control over my body and my health care decisions.”

Because the baby and the mother are two separate bodies and a fetus isn’t the same a wart. Now if memory serves, a few weeks back you didn’t realize this very obvious genome fact. Perhaps you and Obama share far more than I realized – especially with respect to common knowledge of biology.

At least you’re not gay. I haven’t heard of you sucking a little of the totem pole of love in your earlier years like the prophet. 😉

  17. Tex, my friend, you will play by the conservative play book which says any good economic news is the natural forces of capitalism at work and any bad news is Obama’s fault.

The truth is that Obama’s only flaw so far is his insistence on bi-partisanship or at least the appearance of it. He and the democrats need to take the bull by the horns and get on with it. Our country put the Dem’s in power and they need to exercise that power. The Republicans either need to help or get the hell out of the way.

By the way 77% of Americans want the public option as one of several choices at their disposal.

  18. I believe when a woman is pregnant, she is carrying a living human separate from her being.

The baby is moving in my wife’s tummy at this very moment!!!

I’ll call her over here right now. One second.

Yup. The baby is moving independent of my wife.

You may disagree. But what is hard to understand about that position?

  19. Rabbit,

No, as a V.P. Palin was fine. I want somebody a little more seasoned. However, unlike Rutherford, I don’t think she is dumb (about average). Guess Rutherford hasn’t noticed all these geniuses graduating from Harvard, Yale, and Columbia running the country would rate about an “F” now in effectiveness.

The county asylum couldn’t do worse.

Now, when do you figure Rutherford will take notice that they’ve taken the brilliant Jolting Joe Biden off the public stage? Has there ever been a bigger screw up than that dumbshit?

  20. At least you’re not gay. I haven’t heard of you sucking a little of the totem pole of love in your earlier years like the prophet.

Whoooooooaaaa dude. You really lost me on that one. You got the first part right about my not being gay … but please tell me you are now not saying Obama is or ever was gay. Please tell me I misunderstood you before I call the white van to take you off to the rubber room.

    *** GUFFAW ***

You’ve got to be shitting me? Is that parody? Obama and his pack of 40 thieves can’t find their butt with both hands. The only thing wrong? Hell, they can’t do anything right. From the Cash for Clunkers, to the Stimulus, to Health Care, to Gitmo, to the war these dumb have created nothing but chaos. Hell, there so dumb, they can’t administer the stimulus package.

You’ve got a super majority Rutherford! If your party the party of great ideas, there wouldn’t be noise one. Let me fill you in on something that you apparently have missed. There is a huge groundswell growing that is saying you’re party’s days are numbered because you ain’t worth a shit.

Hardcore shills like you might go down in flames supporting a lost cause, but most people aren’t that twisted.

  22. You may disagree. But what is hard to understand about that position?

The point here is not to start an abortion debate. The point here is that Ms. Bachmann is unable to see the contradiction in her own stance.

No matter how pro-life you may be, you must concede that a government prohibition on abortion puts the government in the position of telling a woman what she may or may not do with her body. For sheer logical consistency, Ms. Bachmann must therefore not have a problem with government intervention in her medical choices. It’s just a matter of logic Rabbit.

  23. I don’t know Rutherford. Looks like Brotha Obama capable of knobbing the pole. I can almost guarantee you Rahm likes it up the stink star as he pirouettes around the Oval Office.

Maybe they need to bring in John Edwards to administer some lessons in proper anatomical technique (he’s so hot)?

  24. Same here, I mean based on polling, the death panel thing isn’t something the majority thinks to be true

Sensico I have to disagree with you slightly here. While it is not a majority, a sizable number of Americans believe the death panel lie. In fact, a recent NBC poll puts the number at 45%.

Where I do agree with you is that ignoring the lie only serves to let it fester. John Kerry’s undoing (and Dukakis for that matter) was not actively speaking out against the Republican smear campaign waged against him.

  25. “No matter how pro-life you may be, you must concede that a government prohibition on abortion puts the government in the position of telling a woman what she may or may not do with her body”-R

I don’t have the energy to get into an abortion debate with you. But for you to say that and then claim you’re not debating aboirtion is crazy.

Dude, it is a separate person that relies on the body of a woman. Just as newborns rely on the body of a woman.

  26. The point here is that Ms. Bachmann is unable to see the contradiction in her own stance.

No, you still ain’t getting it Rutherford. That termination is not her body, but the baby’s. Here, maybe this will make it plainer.

You want to right to terminate your daughter legally if you get tired of being a dad? I mean, for convenience and cost and all.

And you think we are shallow and inconsistent?

  27. Rahm likes it up the stink star as he pirouettes around the Oval Office.

If I’m not mistaken Rahm studied ballet …. is that what you’re referencing here? I’ll just assume tonight is Saturday Night at the Rutherford Improv since you can’t possibly be backwards enough to think that all male ballet dancers are gay.

  28. “you can’t possibly be backwards enough to think that all male ballet dancers are gay”.-R

    lol…I think I am.

Ballet is like gymnastics to me: physically demanding but not something I would enjoy watching my future son do.

Real men play slow pitch softball. 🙂

  29. “Cute.”-R

I think “cute” is a word liberals use when they’re not happy with an unfunny, crass joke.

    My bad.

  30. You guys have officially lost your minds. I have no problem with your disgust with the termination of a life (in this case the life of a fetus). But sorry guys … the fetus resides in the body of a living breathing woman. Protecting the rights and safety of that fetus demands restrictions on what that woman can do with her body.

Tex, your analogy is actually quite a good one and makes my point that this is not an abortion debate but a debate about Bachmann’s intellectual inconsistency. I cannot use any part of my body to cause a mortal wound to my daughter. There are governmental/legal restrictions against that. And there ought to be. Using your argument, a woman cannot do anything with her body that might cause mortal harm to a living fetus.

OK … we’re fine so far.

Hence, the government CAN tell us what to do with our bodies to the extent that our actions may harm another. What has Bachmann said? The government cannot tell her what to do with her body. It’s logically inconsistent.

So, again, you guys aren’t goiing to pull me into an abortion debate because that is not what this is. This is about Michele Bachmann deciding under what circumstances the government can and cannot intervene in her physiological choices. She has contradicted herself with her statement and she has done so because she is a dumbass.

  31. NO CO-OP’S! A Little History Lesson

Young People. America needs your help.

More than two thirds of the American people want a single payer health care system. And if they cant have a single payer system 77% of all Americans want a strong government-run public option on day one (86% of democrats, 75% of independents, and 72% republicans). Basically everyone.

Our last great economic catastrophe was called the Great Depression. Then as now it was caused by a reckless, and corrupt Republican administration and republican congress. FDR a Democrat, was then elected to save the nation and the American people from the unbridled GREED and profiteering, of the unregulated predatory self-interest of the banking industry and Wallstreet. Just like now.

FDR proposed a Government-run health insurance plan to go with Social Security. To assure all Americans high quality, easily accessible, affordable, National Healthcare security. Regardless of where you lived, worked, or your ability to pay. But the AMA riled against it. Using all manor of scare tactics, like Calling it SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!! :-0

So FDR established thousands of co-op’s around the country in rural America. And all of them failed. The biggest of these co-op organizations would become the grandfather of the predatory monster that all of you know today as the DISGRACEFUL GREED DRIVEN PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance industry. And the DISGRACEFUL GREED DRIVEN PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare industry.

This former co-op would grow so powerful that it would corrupt every aspect of healthcare delivery in America. Even corrupting the Government of the United States.

This former co-op’s name is BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD.

Do you see now why even the suggestion of co-op’s is ridiculous. It makes me so ANGRY! Co-op’s are not a substitute for a government-run public option.

They are trying to pull the wool over our eye’s again. Senators, if you don’t have the votes now, GET THEM! Or turn them over to us. WE WILL! DEAL WITH THEM. Why do you think we gave your party Control of the House, Control of the Senate, Control of the Whitehouse. The only option on the table that has any chance of fixing our healthcare crisis is a STRONG GOVERNMENT-RUN PUBLIC OPTION.

An insurance mandate and subsidies without a strong government-run public option choice available on day one, would be worse than the healthcare catastrophe we have now. The insurance, and healthcare industry have been very successful at exploiting the good hearts of the American people. But Congress and the president must not let that happen this time. House Progressives and members of the Tri-caucus must continue to hold firm on their demand for a strong Government-run public option.

A healthcare reform bill with mandates and subsidies but without a STRONG government-run public option choice on day one, would be much worse than NO healthcare reform at all. So you must be strong and KILL IT! if you have too. And let the chips fall where they may. You can do insurance reform without mandates, subsidies, or taxpayer expense.

Actually, no tax payer funds should be use to subsidize any private for profit insurance plans. So, NO TAX PAYER SUBSIDIZES TO PRIVATE FOR PROFIT PLANS. Tax payer funds should only be used to subsidize the public plans. Healthcare reform should be 100% for the American people. Not another taxpayer bailout of the private for profit insurance industry, disguised as healthcare reform for the people.

    God Bless You

  32. “She has contradicted herself with her statement and she has done so because she is a dumbass.”

No, you are the dumbass and have a unhealthily obsession with conservative women.

So why is Thuggy pulling FAA employees to cover for his cars fir clunkers failure. Now he sounds like a dumbass as well.

  33. London bank charges Sharia-compliant accounts £15 for overdrafts, non-Sharia accounts £200

From our You-Can’t-Make-This-Stuff-Up depertment: “An overdraft? That’ll be £200 at Lloyds TSB (but only £15 if you’re a Muslim),” by Arthur Martin for the Daily Mail, August 22 (thanks to Kenny):

Many Lloyds TSB customers are being hit with charges of up to £200 a month if they go into the red – while Muslims who use the bank are only being charged £15.

The part-nationalised bank has been accused of religious discrimination over the disparity between overdraft charges on its standard current account and its Islamic account.

The Islamic account was set up by the high street bank to attract Muslim customers by allowing them to keep faithful to their religion.

Sharia law does not permit the payment of interest so the ‘typical’ Islamic account at Lloyds TSB has been set up without an overdraft facility.

No interest is charged on Islamic accounts, while customers with a normal account are hit with charges of up to £200

Other rules: No interest is charged on Islamic accounts, while customers with a normal account are hit with charges of up to £200

If a Muslim customer who has insufficient funds in the account tries to make a payment, it is blocked and a ‘return item fee’ is charged.

However, on some Islamic accounts such a payment is authorised and an ‘unplanned overdraft fee’ of £15 is then levied.

The bank says this is a management fee, not a payment of interest, so does not contradict Sharia law.

Meanwhile, customers with standard current accounts who go into the red by at least £100 without authorisation are hit with an ‘unplanned overdraft fee’ of £20 a day for a maximum of ten days. This could mean a customer has to pay £200 in one month.

The Islamic account is available to all customers at Lloyds TSB. In theory, anyone who does not need a permanent overdraft facility could switch to this account to avoid being hit by interest charges for going into the red.

The disparity between the two accounts emerged after the bank sent its customers a booklet this month explaining its charges.

    Whoops.

Graham Milne, a customer and chartered accountant from Norham, Northumberland, said difference in fees was tantamount to ‘religious discrimination’.

He added: ‘This means that all the non-Islamic account holders are subsidising those with such an account. It strikes me as something which is bordering on illegal.

‘One cannot help feeling the organisation is bending over backwards to help Muslims to the detriment of everybody else.

“You might as well fall flat on your face as lean over too far backward.” — James Thurber

‘The man in the street would say this is a form of theft. Whether you call it a management fee or an interest fee, it makes no odds because they mean the same thing.’…

    Read it all.

Isnt Multiculturalism great? Now DOIAD would agree with this since he said we MUST tolerate intolerance.

  34. If I’m not mistaken Rahm studied ballet …. is that what you’re referencing here? I’ll just assume tonight is Saturday Night at the Rutherford Improv since you can’t possibly be backwards enough to think that all male ballet dancers are gay.

    😆

You know “R”. There are times I’d slap a hundred dollar bill down to be a fly on your wall watching your expression when you read a few of my quips. At the very least, I bet your eyebrows have raised a few times.

No, I’m not that naive and fact know a few of them that are hornier for the fairer sex than I am.

But like Brother Rabbit, I got to tell you that if I had been fortunate to have had a son, I’d prefer to have seen him on the football field rather flowing around on stage with somebody wearing a tutu.

You know why I could never have been in the ballet?

Because I would have always been wanting to lift and look up. I’d have fallen off the stage. 😉 Nothing like grabbing a woody in front of thousands.

  35. Hence, the government CAN tell us what to do with our bodies to the extent that our actions may harm another. What has Bachmann said? The government cannot tell her what to do with her body. It’s logically inconsistent.

No, you’re still wrong on three counts. There is no inconsistency because Bachmann is right about the government not telling her what she can and can’t do with her own body. She wants to get a tattoo tomorrow, she wants to get a hysterectomy, she wants to get a boob job and pay for it out of pocket, it is not the government’s concern. She should do as she wishes without interference.

Second, you’re wrong about not “pulling” abortion into the debate because your premise of her inconsistency is based on the fact that she considers herself pro-life, yet unlike you, she recognizes that an unborn child is not her body – and in fact, as I have mentioned before, there is a 50% chance the child will not be of the same sex. Besides, it was you that made this a debate about abortion from your post as again that is the very example (“very pro-life) provided by you to try and disprove Bachmann’s own claims.

Finally, it was government that made this national issue and it is our own government that is being inconsistent in that they superseded state’s rights by ruling that federal jurisdiction would reign concerning both providing and determining who could obtain an abortion. To this day, I am convinced there are many states that would place many restrictions concerning the ability to obtain an abortion if not for Roe v. Wade.

As a glaring example of just how twisted and evil this decision was consider:

I am almost sure that the majority of citizens in all states would demand parental notification before an abortion were induced in a minor. Someday when your own daughter comes of age, her school will be required to obtain your consent to obtain an aspirin from the school nurse for a headache. But if she approaches the school counselor about obtaining an abortion, an invasive surgical procedure, she may do so in the strictest confidence with assistance from the school and without you or your wife’s consent. You will never know that your own grandchild was terminated “R”.

Now who is that is being inconsistent again?

  36. Dont you love that irony Tex? Need permission from a parent to get an aspirin but not an abortion.

I think it comes down to that the drones like Dodger dont view a baby in the womb as a living being hence they see nothing wrong with extinguishing that life as it was worthless. But then some, dont even view it as a life if the abortion was botched and let the baby die anyway. Just like Thuggy. If thats not evil, what is?

  37. Rutherford (Dodger) 😆

Not to pile on or anything as my buddy Elric covers all the Obama missteps well, but perhaps while you’re dodging his, you can answer this simple question since you told us that the only mistake Obama was making was playing nice last night.

Why the war in Afghanistan seems to be deteriorating? I thought this Obama was a master at reconciliation and brilliant to boot?

    http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N23119339.htm

Perhaps a better question would be exactly what has Obama done positively since his inception? Other than a few excellent military types shooting three thugs in the head with my greatest approval, I don’t see that Obama has accomplished much with a positive bent? He has accomplished partially ruining the country – I do give him that.

  38. Elric,

Rutherford (Dodger) struggles with the abortion issue. He’s decent enough and bright enough to recognize that for all practical purposes, the end result is death of a child. He won’t admit as much, of course, but when push comes to shove and unlike most libs, Rutherford can’t bring himself to treat it as the casual stroll through the park. With most libs, abortion is a sacrament.

However, Rutherford has the one malady common to all libs which is inescapable to be of that ilk.

    Politics and power trump reason.

  39. Tex,

Yep Thuggy is a great CIC. Iraq going to crap and Afghanistan, the real war on mad made disasters is going to hell too. Seems like everything he touches turns to shit.

    “Politics and power trump reason.”

Couldnt agree more. Thats how libs are. Little mindless drones that cant reason for themselves. Has he ever really took on a real defense on Thuggys rapid decline and his failed policies? Just wait for his weekly “analysis” of Thuggy’s weekly rant. I bet he wont touch on Thuggy comparing passing Thuggy care to defeating the Nazis. Disgusting.

  40. No one WANTS abortions to happen. The issue is with safety and preventing violence by or on the mother. Republicans can go all day about how they don’t want abortions yet they fail to present any ideas on how to lower the rate of unwanted teen pregnancies that would result in abortions. The democratic platform included various ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies by teenagers and others. The GOP platform was virtually non-existent of it.
Whether we have abortion clinics or not, abortions will still happen and at a greater rate because there’s no regulation. Yet this time, like we’ve seen before abortion clinics even existed, this time abortions will be done in back alleys, and on the black market. Which would result in more health issues either causing people to have infections or die. btw, putting more strain on the health care system and costs will rise, because I’m pretty sure most of the people will have no insurance due.
And I’m not for late-term abortions except if heath of mother is at risk but could you imagine how many MORE late-term abortions would persist if abortion clinic closed.
So I would suggest to the GOP to stop saying “no” and come up with solutions to stop unwanted pregnancies from turning into women going to the abortion clinic.

  41. And in Dodgettes little rant, no where is mentioned about the well being of the child. And of course she also doesnt mention that Thuggy supports partial birth abortion and killing the baby if it survives the abortion.

  42. I have a great solution to teen pregnancy. Adoption. End of story.

Your saying people get abortions because it stops them from harming the baby?

    Total b.s.

They have abortions because the pregnancy harms their “lifestyle”.

Giving birth is tough. Giving a child up for adoption is tough.

But taking a tool and chopping up a baby with eyebrows and little toes is fucking sick.

Why did Scott Peterson get charged with two counts of murder?

  43. how is adoption end of story when theres millions of kids going through the adoption system right now with no home and sometimes abused or just taken in because the adoptee wants some government cheeeeeese.
Maybe the solution is better education, better economy, abstinence along with sex education and parenting preparation courses to make young women feel more comfortable about keeping the child.
I meant more like from preventing the mother harm. Some people are strong and willing to take the risk, I actually had a spanish teacher that gave birth even though she knew her life was at risk and she did in fact die a month later. Not many people are willing to take that risk and they should have a choice.

  44. In 2000, cases of rape or incest accounted for 1% of abortions. 13,000 out of 1.31 million abortions in 2000 were on account of rape or incest.

  45. * 25.5% Want to postpone childbearing
    * 21.3% Cannot afford a baby
    * 14.1% Has relationship problem or partner does not want pregnancy
    * 12.2% Too young; parent(s) or other(s) object to pregnancy
    * 10.8% Having a child will disrupt education or job
    * 7.9% Want no (more) children
    * 3.3% Risk to fetal health
    * 2.8% Risk to maternal health
    * 2.1% Other

  46. While I was reading nonsensico’s ignorant paragraph on the surplus of babies that need to be adopted (she is dead fricking wrong), a messed up thought came to my mind.

Sensico clearly is confusing the adoption of babies with children who are in foster care.

Can you imagine sensico doing volunteer work in an orphanage?

sensico: “Kids, so, I guess what, like I’m trying to say, is, it would have been much better for society if your mom killed you sometime in the 1st or 2nd trimester.”

She will come one here and say, no that’s not what she meant.

What she will not be able to do is come on here and explain why that’s not what she meant.

  47. Unlike Rutherford, who has to waffle with his conscience to find people like O’Bummer solid after a 20 year relationship with David Duke Jeremiah Wright, Sensico is more the libbie norm. Uninformed, clueless, superficial sophistication, and arrogant.

They’ll spout crap about every subject, rarely understanding the truth. They should stick with talking about sex, dope, political academia, atheism, and lefty philosophy (normally one and the same, though many will claim they are “spiritual”, whatever that means).

I wonder if Sensico ever gives thought to why American parents go to Russia, Romania, China, etc… to adopt if there’s a million toddlers waiting around to be adopted in our country? It cost a small fortune to adopt.

The question was rhetorical, of course.

  48. Spent my Sunday away from the blog. Just a couple of quick comments:

Elric … love the new Socratic style you’re using. A nice snarky question followed by a link. Guess that’s better than just a link. 🙂

On another note, I maintain you guys are either naive or very callous to believe that the majority of women have abortions like they’re blowing their nose. You can be as pro-life as you like, to minimize the pain and anguish of the woman who chooses abortion is just plain heartless and you should be ashamed of yourselves for this oversimplification.

Regarding adoption … the state of adoption in this country is disturbing at best. Adoption is a marketplace both from a parent and baby perspective. Parents are put through a “measurement system” that no one capable of natural conception has to go through and at times it is absurd. China now will not allow Americans with facial deformities to adopt. On the baby side of things, non-disabled white babies are still at a premuim and many parents who complain about waiting years to adopt are waiting because they want the “perfect”child, like it’s a fu*king supermarket they’re shopping at. That is one reason international adoption is done by so many because these are parents who truly want to be parents and don’t care if the kid doesn’t look like them.

On yet another flip-side, there is probably not enough adoption going on among blacks … i.e. black families willing to adopt.

So, please don’t cite adoption as the panacea to the “unwanted” children problem. (By the way, I am a strong advocate for adoption and if my daughter ever got pregnant before being capable of raising a child and was physically able to carry to term without undue risk, I would strongly advocate for placing the baby vs abortion.)

  49. “Elric … love the new Socratic style you’re using. A nice snarky question followed by a link. Guess that’s better than just a link. :-)”

And still dodged all of Thuggy’s thuggery. You really do a poor job defending Thuggy’s ineptness.

  50. “I maintain you guys are either naive or very callous to believe that the majority of women have abortions like they’re blowing their nose. You can be as pro-life as you like, to minimize the pain and anguish of the woman who chooses abortion is just plain heartless and you should be ashamed of yourselves for this oversimplification.”-Rutherford

Wow. You are projecting. You even go as far as to say we should be ashamed of ourselves. It’s almost as if you created a synthetic moral high ground to bellow out from because you, deep down, know you’re with the sick bastards on this one.

Yes, I have known women who were torn from the start and riddled with guilt afterwords. I also know women who barely gave a shit. (My own sister-in-law)

You can’t deny the facts. Most abortions are due to the inconvenience of a life style change. When you add the fact there is a terrible plague of infertility in this country with parents who desperately want to adopt, it becomes even more ludicrous.

Do you know how many times I’ve heard the exact same tripe as your uninformed twitter partner spewed? That doesn’t bother you that people defend abortion on grounds that defy reality?

You seem to be saying that because women are torn over having the abortion, the abortion itself becomes more valid or ethical.

Hell, I know guys who walked out on their family who were and are torn about it.

At the very least, you need to concede your “Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha moment” was bull crap. You can’t just throw “Bwahahahahahahahahahahahas” around so haphazardly or you look like a partisan dick. To make the claim that a woman can kill her pregnancy because she has control over her body is the very essence of the pro-life stance. To act like you’re not getting into the “debate” or claiming a person to be a hypocrite because they don’t not agree with you is junk.

I demand you take your “Bwahahahahahahahahahahahas” back.

  51. Total Abortions since 1973 (Roe v. Wade): 49,551,703

Really, this many medical requirements since Roe? Women must have been dropping like flies prior to Roe v. Wade…

You have no moral high ground Senisco, your position refuses to even acknowledge that a fetus is a baby. Really, how many pregnant women have given birth to something OTHER than a human baby?

Both sides of this argument are stupid. Pro-life is absolutely opposed even at the threat of life to the mother. Pro-abortion (which is exactly what it has become) refuses any logical management of the treatment. I mean, come on, this is the taking of a life, something that deserves a little bit of seriousness.

Seriously, in California, a school cannot give a Tylenol without parental consent, but can take the underage girl to an abortion clinic and not notify the parents. Justification, potential for incest. Really, the first place to go is Planned Parenthood? How about the FUCKING COPS!!!

See, this ludicrous mentality makes me somewhat upset. We need a common sense approach to this, which we simply aren’t getting, especially from fringe elements like Planned Parenthood, never a more euphemistic name was developed…

  52. Elric, this might end up being the icing on a giant summer cake of shit for Obama.

If they keep pressing for this vindictive crap and the country finds out that the our more extreme interrogation methods did, in fact, stop a terrorist attack, look out.

It’s so obvious that Obama is trumping this junk again becuase of his miserable leadership on health care.

What a fool. His gut instinct told him to move on. But he just couldn’t resist.

  53. Liberal asshat heads should explode, except that this story will probably be buried.

This quote comes from your Weasel article Elric. The story won’t be buried because there is no story here. Now I see why so many of your comments are piss-poor. You rely on a toilet paper web site to get your facts … they make assertions and don’t back up a damn thing.

Folks … please do me a favor and click Elric’s weasel zipper link so you can see what I’m talking about. It’s a journalistic joke.

P.S. I haven’t decided yet whether these new CIA findings rise to the level of a separate post on my blog. I’m thinking about it … pretty disgusting stuff.

  54. Rabbit, when you find yourself ready to ride side-saddle with Elric, give it a second thought. As I just said in a prior post, the Weasel Zipper article documents nothing. Total garbage.

Also, why do you confuse release of information, done under the freedom of information act, and a possible investigation by Holder’s DOJ with Obama’s preferences? Again, you’ve been drinking way too much from Elric’s cup.

The very reason Obama has said we should “move on” is that he knows this is a tremendous distraction from the work he wants to get done. Should Obama shut down Holder? Then, we’d hear the screams of “Obama’s manipulating the system by exerting undue control over the Justice Department.”

Sorry Rabbit, your beef should not be with Obama. Your beef should be with government officials who thought they were Jack Bauer and tossed this country’s ideals down the toilet.

  55. Gorilla and others: I do agree there is something really twisted about needing parental permission to administer Tylenol but not to give abortion counseling. Very dumb policy, even if there is a possibility of incest being involved.

  56. I said “might”. I never said anything about the link and wrote most of what I said before I read it.

I’m telling you right now R, if it comes out that the CIA saved American lives, Obama is going to take a massive hit.

Cheney wants the reports declassified for a reason. Obama is walking into a trap, all the while weakening our country.

If we get attacked in the future and it comes out that CIA operatives we’re to afraid to act, again, Obama’s name will ring out for a generation as the pussy that got Americans killed.

This is wrong headed by Obama on many different levels. In this case, I’m arguing it’s politically stupid.

  57. Regarding comment 77, thank you for posting Rabbit. I don’t say it often enough but this is why our soldiers deserve our admiration. They live with these horrors day in and day out.

It’s also the reason why we must choose our wars very carefully. When we were in Iraq, that was the time to surge in Afghanistan. Now that we have come to our senses, it may be too late. What’s more, I am hearing mixed messages that scare me. On Meet the Press Sunday, Admiral Mike Mullen referenced humanitarian aspects to our presence in Afghanistan. F*ck that. We shouldn’t be there trying to give the Afghan’s a stable government, We should be there for one reason only. To find and destroy all the Osama Summer Camps where young lunatics go to learn how to kill Americans. Plain and simple.

  58. “On Meet the Press Sunday, Admiral Mike Mullen referenced humanitarian aspects to our presence in Afghanistan. ”

As I said before, Iraq was one o

  59. “On Meet the Press Sunday, Admiral Mike Mullen referenced humanitarian aspects to our presence in Afghanistan. ”

Well, I don’t feel I’m knowledgeable enough to say that humanitarian aspects aren’t important for success.

That being said, I also have reservations with neo-con nation building.

I don’t know if the savages over there are capable of democracy or any semblance of a nation outside of Mad Max.

  60. The documents back up the Bush administration’s claims that intelligence gleaned from captured terror suspects had thwarted terrorist attacks, but the visible portions of the heavily redacted reports do not indicate whether such information was obtained as a result of controversial interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding.

How’s that “total garbage” R? Reads to me like Elric is absolutely correct. The bottom line is that no matter the techniques used, Elric’s question is a far one? And the answer is that Cheney and Co.’s methods saved American lives no matter how you would like to spin it.

Remember, it was your lot that said this was baloney not six months ago, that harsh interrogation techniques (assuming that is what was used) did work, and that our objective was to prevent another attack which according to the article the interrogation clearly did.

Once again, the evil Dick Cheney has called Honest Obe’s bluff and been proven right. The left again appears to be both incompetent and weak. I knew this would happen when you ran out of excuses and knew nothing but how to criticize and attack. Once you (the Left) were granted power, one thing became obvious. NO MATTER how incompetent Bush may have appeared, he is obviously more qualified than Obama to run the country. This is now almost without dispute for anybody of fair mind. Obama has taken a bad situation (which Bush bears part of the blame) and magnified the problem(s) exponentially. He isn’t fit to run a Dairy Queen like Ann Coulter said. 😯

Tell you this much. If this happens to get out nationally, we happened to be attacked again, and thousands die on account of our lapse in judgment to show a false sense of piety cowering to the Eurowienies, nobody is going to give a damn about waterboarding but the Cindy Sheehan/Rutherford crowd.

Waterboarding was always a red herring of an argument.

  61. back up the Bush administration’s claims that intelligence gleaned from captured terror suspects had thwarted terrorist attacks

Tex … bull. Where are the quotes from Weasel Zippers? Not a one. I’m supposed to just take their word for it?

I’m too damn tired to remember the names of the main dudes we tortured but it has already been documented that one cooperated only until he was WB’d and then he clammed up. Another gave us nothing substantial.

And this notion that we can’t tie our tactics to the results cannot be overlooked. While I’m not saying the ends justify the means (far from it), you’re telling me that we tell some dude we’re gonna rape his wife in front of him if he doesn’t talk … and then we can’t prove after the fact that the disgusting tactic did us any good?

Tex, for a Christian, I’m telling you dude ,,, you’re on the wrong side of this argument.

  62. Oh, it will get out nationally, Tex.

Just wait until Cheney gets his declassified docs.

This is going to blow up. Even if the Attorney General gets a conviction or two, those guys will end up being martyrs.(rightfully so)

    Rutherford can’t handle the truth!!!!

I haven’t seen one tactic that makes me want to throw a pity party for those barbarian fucks.

    They got off easy.

It’s war. They got off really easy and morally stand by what CIA.

  63. “Your beef should be with government officials who thought they were Jack Bauer and tossed this country’s ideals down the toilet.”

What ideals down the toilet? Be specific for once.

  64. “P.S. I haven’t decided yet whether these new CIA findings rise to the level of a separate post on my blog. I’m thinking about it … pretty disgusting stuff.”

What did you expect? Offer these barbarians a cup of tea and ask them nicely about any plans about blowing up innocent civilians, particularly if any chemical or bio weapons will be used?

Now a separate post on DOIAD’s mental stability would be interesting. 🙂

  65. DR,

That IED went off in our AO back in 2006. I remember when we were pushing it around.

It isn’t a typical road side bomb, but rather what we call a deep burried IED. They would back road culverts with 500-1000 lbs of HME (Home Made Explosive) and attempt to detonate under the vehicle. Reason was our armour was getting much better and the 155 mm shells they were using earlier weren’t working so well. These deep burried were particularly effective in conjested urban environments, I remember watching a predator feed were we did an air strike on a safe house in Baquba, the entire street began in a dominoe fashion of explosions. There must have been close to 100 IEDs on that road alone.

Back to this video, no one got hurt, but there was a dry cleaning bill involved…

  66. Why does Thuggy oppose human rights?

Why don’t you bother to read the articles you post?

Abrams says his focus is elsewhere, not that he opposes human rights.

And could someone tell me how Abrams cites Reagan and Bush 43 as great human rights presidents but ignores Jimmy Carter who got Egypt and Israel to the bargaining table?

Still, I give Abrams credit for not falling into FrontPage’s bullsh*t trap and calling Obama an anti-Semite. I love how FP asks loaded questions that betray their political agenda.

  67. “R”,

Tex … bull. Where are the quotes from Weasel Zippers? Not a one. I’m supposed to just take their word for it?

Lunch time so I have to make this quick.

Take their word for it? If it is just speculation or innuedo or baseless claims, why was Obama and his hatchet men so hesitant to allow their release? Why the selective release trying to incriminate Cheney & Bush? Why was Dick Cheney so adamant about the release of documents? Your buddy Obama certainly hints at believing in their truth – as does about every country in the world believe harsh interrogation techniques do work.

One thing you should understand about Christians Rutherford. If Khalid Sheik Mohammed (one of those waterboarded) were left to the judgment of God’s laws and not man’s laws, he would be dead right now. One of the universal laws God left after the flood (and yes, I know you believe none of it but you shouldn’t be using it as reference either since you don’t) is that if man were to shed innocent blood, then by man shall his own blood be shed.

    Genesis 9:6

Whosoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

  68. I’m pissed the CIA didn’t make a Khalid Sheik Mohammed polar bear rug out of him. I would love to lay that bitch out on my Pergo floors.

Joe…I thought maybe they put that IED too deep. I can’t imagine driving a truck where there is a potential for the road to practically come alive and attack.

  69. Joe? I’m not Joe!!!

Just a lot of explosives under ground. Cool to see, after the fact I guess, but it could have certainly made for a bad day!

  70. “Still, I give Abrams credit for not falling into FrontPage’s bullsh*t trap and calling Obama an anti-Semite.”

Sure he is. He attended an antisemitic “church” for 20 years and his mentor was a huge jooooo hater.

  71. Of course he does, all his buddies are thugs.

LOL You are too much. You post the link with the implication that Abrams says Obama opposes civil rights. Then when I call you on it, you disown Abrams. Hilarious. Save yourself the trouble next time and read what you post before you post it.

  72. I said human rights, not civil rights.

I know what you said. I had a brain fart and typed civil instead of human, which you fully know. My brain fart does not come close in comparison to your weaseling away from Abrams whom you cited as an authority until I busted you. But then we should expect weaseling from you … after all your fav publication is Weasel Zippers after all. 🙂

  73. “My brain fart does not come close in comparison to your weaseling away from Abrams whom you cited as an authority until I busted you.”

Gee if you are so smart why dont you “bust” me on everything?

And shall we go over Thuggy’s world leader friends that are major human right violators? Or will you dodge like on everything else?

  74. “but ignores Jimmy Carter who got Egypt and Israel to the bargaining table?”

Probably because Dhimmi Carter preferred the islamic revolution in Iran over the Shah. And also because Dhimmi Carter is an anti-Semite.

  75. Elric sometimes posts bombs. Other times, total duds. As I’ve said before, I wished he’d post less, skim the cream of the crop and make Rutherford drink it.

  76. I’m here, I’ve been doing other things, constantly contacting wordpress support, helping in the wordpress forum, blogging on my two blogs, twittering, redesigned my blog.
My take on your abortion thread is so what? you can adopt through the foster care system. I support adoption over abortion anyday but when her life is at risk then I don’t see how it’s unreasonable to giver her that choice. Late term abortion is disgusting trust me, ever fall the anti-abortion people come to campus and shove pictures of dead fetuses down out throats (not literally of course). Anyways, thats my take on it and I stand by my first statement. Anything else in this thread I’m expected to comment on??

  77. “when her life is at risk then I don’t see how it’s unreasonable to giver her that choice”

I agree. Welcome to the pro-life family, sensico.

  78. “Anyways, thats my take on it and I stand by my first statement.”

Oops. I didn’t read that sentence. You stand by your first statement? Really?

    This one?

“No one WANTS abortions to happen. The issue is with safety and preventing violence by or on the mother.”

Despite the awkwardness in your choice of words (violence?) I showed you reliable data showing why people get abortions.

sensico, very, very few abortions have anything to do with safety.

Let me say it again. MOST PEOPLE GET ABORTIONS FOR LIFESTYLE REASONS.

I’m talking like 93% of all abortions here. So, tell me, exactly how do you “stand by” your first comment?

  79. Video: Michelle and Glenn Beck on radicals in the White House

Day two in GB’s expose of Color of Change founder turned “green jobs czar” Van Jones, this time with an assist from the boss. Beck’s focused on the deeper questions here but as a case study in big media’s double standards towards Republican and Democratic appointees, you simply can’t do better than this. They gave The One a pass on Wright and Ayers during the campaign when McCain would have been crucified for similar relationships, ostensibly because those dealings were in the past and wouldn’t affect the way he governed. Now he’s actually bringing these turds into the White House and giving them oversight positions — and deliberately avoiding Senate confirmation hearings by making them “czars” — and no one except those excitable wingnuts seems to care. If you missed Will Wilkinson’s post this morning about the lingering cultural legitimacy of Marxism, especially as a badge of intelligence in its adherents, read it now. It’s the perfect companion piece to the double-edged scandal of our leftist president hiring radicals and our leftist media shrugging stupidly while he does it.

  80. Dann….I didn’t realize they found the woman in the back seat and that she had been desperately trying to stay alive via an air packet.

10 hours is a long time.

If Kennedy was a Rabbit or a Rutherford, he’d of done 10 to 20 at the very least.

I feel like a real prick bringing up Chappaquiddick, but he never paid his dues. It was worse then manslaughter. It was murder.

Chappaquiddick was so terrible that it needs to be mentioned in any discussion of Kennedy.

  81. “I feel like a real prick bringing up Chappaquiddick”

Why? The scumbag left her to die.

“Chappaquiddick was so terrible that it needs to be mentioned in any discussion of Kennedy.”

But it wont. The MSM will lionize and make a saint out of this POS. I hope the jerkoff is enjoying Hell.

  82. I hope the jerkoff is enjoying Hell.

Sometimes I underestimate, Elric, what a total asshole you can be.

More on this in my next blog post (not about Elric being an asshole but about Kennedy).

  83. LMAO Take that Thuggy!!!

Well, once again Elric has found it hard to be original since Gorilla already posted that finding.

I must confess something. I was going to answer this finding with a crack about what dumb asses folks from Arkansas are but to my surprise I discovered that on education, Arkansas ranks 32 among the 50 states. (Arizona, believe it or not ranked dead last.)

So all I can say is while they may not be the dumbest state in the union, they can’t be true bright if they support Clown Limbuagh’s “policies”.

  84. Rutherford, 😆

Before I go to bed, I can’t help but notice you’re imploding by trying to defend too many “indefensibles.”

    (1) Obama’s abject failures
    (2) Medicare successes
    (3) Death Panels
    (4) Obsessions with good lookin’ Conservative babes (next it will be the FOX girls.
    (5) Teddy Kennedy

    I feel your pain.

    xoxox,

    Tex
