The Imagination of a Child

Sometimes looking at the world through a child’s eyes can really open up your mind. My four year old daughter has noticed the moon going through its various phases over the course of a month. Having no understanding that the moon’s appearance depends on its position relative to us and the sun, she just assumes the moon changes its shape at will. Hence, yesterday, February 14, she asked the natural question:

“Mommy, why isn’t the moon shaped like a heart today? It’s ‘Valenstines’ Day.”

Classic.
